Thank you. Yeah, it's up, guys.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
It's Kevin Bell from Kevin Bell Podcast here at in
Course rig day two. I'll tell you what. It's a
little bit older, but it's a lot more energetic. There's
a lot of stuff going on. I'm probably a little
bit sunburn, that's okay. I got the Union Underground here
with me today. How you guys feel awesome?
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Man, fantastic here. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (00:59):
Now, before I asked, you know, first time here and
you guys said no, you guys have been here before
or no.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Maybe one of us had, but no, no as a band, no,
the first time.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
At inc How about Danny Wimber Presents Festivals.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
We did Welcome to Rockville just two months ago.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
How was that?
Speaker 1 (01:17):
Fantastic? Amazing production, amazing staff like those guys. I mean,
these festivals have their together. It's amazing.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
I'm glad you said that.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
I just talked to the owner, Dan Janson of Incarceration.
Now I've talked to Cantalyst bands who have been around
a little bit, long time whatever and anytime they've played
something else and then a Danny women Presents festival night
and day difference, would you agree?
Speaker 1 (01:41):
It's pretty amazing? Yeah, super organized, very smooth and very
nice people.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
Oh by the way, wait, year is it? Because I
can't believe I'm talking to the union underground right now?
You guys are back right, So what's going on with that?
Speaker 3 (01:53):
We're all eight what right now?
Speaker 1 (01:55):
We're all e twight thousand and two plus twenty three years? Ok?
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Okay, here it is. Yeah, So what made you guys
go all right, let's do it again?
Speaker 1 (02:02):
You know? Really just being in the studio writing and
realizing that there's things sitting there that need to be heard,
you know, and them sitting on your computer is not
helping anyone. So I think getting some of these things
out there that I know people are gonna love, it's
just you know, and it just has to be done,
(02:24):
you know.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:26):
So with that being said, I was gonna ask, you know,
is there a new material in the words?
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Obviously? Yes, yeah, When might fans expect something?
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Well, I've been hyping it for quite a while, all right,
let's put the pressure on it. Let me Yeah, some
might say I've been lying about it for quite a while,
but you know, things that you know, COVID happened and
blah blah blah that we had some plans then and
if we had to cancel all that stuff. So it
keeps kind of getting pushed back. But next year there
(02:55):
will be new stuff for sure, and possibly a single
before the end of the year.
Speaker 4 (02:59):
Okay, So I was gonna ask, you know, twenty twenty
five or twenty twenty six, maybe a little bit of both,
And that's perfectly fine. You have now for fans that
have grown up with you guys and are seeing you
at ink or maybe it's our first time hearing you guys,
what can people expect.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Well, you know, if you didn't see us today, it's
just you know, we're raw rock and roll man with
a little bit of a fire and madness. You know,
we'd like to light it up a little bit loud,
but you know, we're just playing the songs the way
they were meant to be heard on the record, you know.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
Yeah, no, I asked that because this isn't your fill
end all. You're not done at shows with after this,
so you got to have plenty more.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
That's what I'll talk about.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
So like if someone rolls into a union underground show,
what can they expect?
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Yeah, So we're on a twenty fifth anniversary tour now
and the co headlining with spine Shank, which has been fantastic.
Just you know, as much as you can expect from
putting as much as you can into a small club.
We just try to like pack as much nonsense as
possible into a club show.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
So let's go down a lot here, small club. We're
big festival and why.
Speaker 4 (04:05):
Well festival just the energy itself, and not to mention,
you can open up the production so we can use fire.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Piro is always fire is good. Yea more Pyro. I'm
into that.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
So good.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
How about you.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
That's a hard one because I love the festivals, but
then I like the people that are like right in
your face and it's hot and you're you're.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
Like melting and you know, if only we could bring fire.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Into the club. But you know that's like, yeah, on
the same way, I do like to be close to
people sometimes the festival. You know, you're a little steparated
from them, but they're both very different and both very cold.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
After the after the after we played, I went into
the crowd, man, and I was like, you know, just
like everybody.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
It's like, dude, it's like, at the end of the day,
we're just fans.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Like they were awesome, you know.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
So as your fans and you're here at ink, are
you guys most likely to see wow?
Speaker 1 (04:59):
You know we we just we saw most of these
guys at Rockville. It's kind of a similar lineup. So
definitely we're just gonna do some repeats, you know, Yeah,
definitely slipt on slipknot yeah, drummer.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
You're looking at it. I'm like, hey, don't forget, we're
going to slip on.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
Yeah yeah, yeah, well you know their drummer as a
drummer man, their drummers just he yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
That dude.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
Man, oh, he's fantastic, like he hits so hard.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
By the way, here's our new slipknow material. It's been
how long. I'm like, man, let's go.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
I'm sure it's coming. They've been They've been teasing some
stuff this week.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
I saw, so, you know, they have been teasing stuff.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
I did see in the incarceration group, which if you
guys aren't in get in there. It's a lot of
fun Facebook Vidia. They were talking about some like number
thing with slip not so I can only imagine what
that's gonna be.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Yeah, I think it's coming soon. Good.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Yesterday we celebrated that twenty fifth you know, release of Rebellion.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
Yeah, twenty five years just yesterday it flew off.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
Wow. Yeah, so it felt like yesterday, and we.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
Had a nice cake and some padding us on the stage.
You know, it's celebrating this.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
Great, nice hot cake in the hot sun.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
It's actually kind of kind of kind of pretty good shop.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
That's not bad, you know. Yeah, yeah, celebrate the sling
shop in Flint. So you know, those guys are always fantastic,
so it was a cool place to do it. You're
gonna that's great.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
It was cool.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Man.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
We have a we have a band called six Dance
on tour with us, okay, and they came up, but
they you know, they got us like this.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
This little cake as one to be guineas.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
Yeah, it's great to have those guys on tour with us.
Speaker 4 (06:30):
And a diva obviously my chank and you know, I
always feel like we've said spunshankle well, I like they
should maybe be on the new record, maybe a feature
that'd be cool.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
Hey, you know, just put it out there.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
So I want to know me and me and Johnny
have talked about, you know, doing some songs with each
other on this run.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
So we haven't Johnny out yet, but it's coming awesome.
So you guys have been around, you know, you just
celebrate the twenty fifty year. I ask every band this,
no matter where they're at in their career, what advice
would you guys give the new starting out bands.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
And why I'm a lawyer. Yes, immediately, that's good.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
That's a good answer.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
Yeah. I always I always talk like, you know, like
my son's with me out and he's got a band,
and I'm trying to coach them in the first thing
I to him is like, by buy a metronome and
a shootor even you got a practice, got you gotta practice,
but you gotta learn to change your guitar.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
Yeah. Way. And there's so many ways to give your
music out there these days, so many mediums. It's just
and everything's kind of the wild West, man. So just
work as hard as you possibly can independently, build your
brand properly independently, and then you have some leverage to
(07:44):
approach bigger things in a much better way, you know
what I mean. My best advice is just to build
things independently as much as you can, and then you'll
have something to sell to bigger donors, you know what
I mean.
Speaker 4 (07:58):
Yeah, that's great advice. I mean I've taken advice over
the years from all kinds of bands, and like, I've
never received bad advice. And that's you know, top top
ten honestly. Any final words you guys want to say the.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
Fans, well, thank you, thank you for the continue support.
Simple words. Great seeing you guys again, the continued. It's
amazing twenty five years, you know, it's kind of amazing
that we're able to come out and just pack as
many people into the even just a club run as
we have after this long, it's just like the love
(08:29):
and support, it's unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
So I think just follow us on you know, follow
us on social media like Facebook, you know, Instagram, all
this stuff to keep up to date, you know, with
all our tour dates. Just announce the second leg of
the tour, so come out, you know, come out and
see a second.
Speaker 1 (08:43):

Speaker 3 (08:50):
