Speaker 1 (00:03):
We're at it again. Welcome to another meeting of the
London Club Council. Now representing Tottenham Hotspur. In this corner
we do have Brett Blakemore and repping Arsenal is Robbie Rosenhaus.
So boys, let the banter begin.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Welcome in to another edition of the London Club Council.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Robbie rosenhounced here representing Arsenal replake More representing Tottenham Arsenal
off in Dubai. But it appears Brett that Tottenham have
made wait what is this in my year? Here breaking news?
They've made two new signings. I don't know if you
know this, but this just happened in the last like
ten minutes.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Before we went on the air. I didn't share these
notes with you.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
Yeah, so they actually made two new signings today. So
this is exclusive to the London Club Council. Nobody out
he has this information. Okay, I don't know if I put.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Any more butter on it.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
It'd be Beyonce and Kendrick Lamar coming to the Tottenham
Hotspur Stadium.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
I always love that one. How do you feel about
those two concerts coming through?
Speaker 3 (01:09):
So now when you go to the stadium on a
non match day you can get the F one experience
and you can go see Beyonce. It beats what they're
putting out there right now, Bretton, we'll get into.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
The football club. How are you and will you.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
Be attending one of those two concerts at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium?
Speaker 4 (01:26):
No, I will not be, and no I'm not doing well.
This club is is killing me slowly. But surely I'm
sure I will use the newfound revenue well, whether that
be a second go kart track or you know, maybe
you know a third kit you know that goes on
(01:46):
sale perhaps who's to say, more things in the club shop.
I'm sure Leevy will use it. Well. You know, I've
never been a Levy sympathizer. I've been consistent on that
on this pod. I do think think there is a
world where, you know, all that revenue could actually be
put into something good and actually could generate like a
(02:10):
you know, a self running football club. I just my
problem right now is the wages. And I think Levy's
willing to spend on transfer fees, but he's he needs
to cut down on the wages. He feels like that's
where a lot of his income and he's one of
the highest paid executives in the whole prem in the
whole country. So but here's here's my thing, and we
(02:32):
can get into it now. We can get into it
after we breakdown the game up to you. I my
opinion has not changed, my stance has not changed. I'm
going to have to start watching Spurs in private because
I feel like I'm further and further and further into
the minority. Who there are people out there who think
if we get a new manager, suddenly our entire attack
(02:52):
is going to be waived healthy, Suddenly, our back four
will magically come back from thin air. Suddenly the stamina
gods will bless poor Archie Gray and poor Lucas Bergwall
with infinite stamina. And I'm going to play. I don't
know where I'm gonna put it, and I could put
it in right here. Ang went on this four minute tirade.
(03:12):
I'm going to put it in a post. But he
said this.
Speaker 5 (03:16):
For two and a half months, this small group of
players have given everything in multiple competitions. I think they've
been outstanding, and I think eleven first team players missing
today started with four teenagers. A twenty one year old
goalkeeper coming to one of the best teams in the
country away from home, after playing the best team in
the country on Thursday night, after playing in a Premier
(03:37):
League game last Sunday, after playing a Europa game, the
same group of players, no rotation. They've been doing this
in the middle of November. I just think they've given
everything they can. If you take nine or ten a
back for Vicario, Dragason, Romero, Van Dervin, Doggie Madison, Johnson,
Selank oderberb to take them out out and how did
(04:02):
Liverpool go today? And that stages did that for one game.
Now do that for two and a half months. Any
team do that for two and a half months in
multiple competitions. I don't care about me. People will judge
me and whatever, but you can't judge this group of
players and what's happened last time. They've given everything the performance,
Like I said, two eighteen year olds, a seventeen year old,
(04:23):
a nineteen year old, a twenty one year old goalkeeper
starting against one of the best teams in country at home.
They've had a week off. They didn't play Thursday night
against Liverpool. We did, same group of players. Not a change.
You know, you can't measure this group of players on
that and their performance and where they're at.
Speaker 6 (04:40):
It's too easy for people to be critical of them. Me.
It doesn't that's not of interest to me.
Speaker 5 (04:47):
My responsibility at this football club is this group of
players and this team to get them to play in
a manner I want them to that will bring us success. Now,
whether people think I can do that or not, that's
for others to judge. But there's got to be a
better appreciation for what us very small group of players
have been doing for the last two and a half months.
(05:07):
It's just it can't be that people think that that's
an excuse.
Speaker 6 (05:12):
That's just not.
Speaker 5 (05:15):
Anywhere near close to objective analysis. That's just a gender
driven stuff. If it's to get rid of me, then
that's fine, you good on, you go for it million times.
But in terms of this group of players, I said,
what they've given the last two and a half months
has been outstanding. It's a credit to them. I can't
(05:39):
speak highly enough of them.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
With the injuries, is it not worrying this week?
Speaker 4 (05:43):
The teams you see like the crust of the team.
Speaker 6 (05:47):
The way the teams can look. I don't know how
else to explain it.
Speaker 7 (05:52):
Right.
Speaker 5 (05:53):
So I really don't know how else to explain it,
other than if you can't see that this team is
just trying its artists to play under the most extreme
two and a half months of asking eighteen year olds
and seventeen year olds and senior players with no rest
to play Thursday Sunday, Thursday, Sunday, Thursday, Sunday, Thursday Sunday.
I'll keep going for three two and a half months.
(06:14):
And if you think that that is not at all
a factor of how this team.
Speaker 6 (06:18):
Is performing right now, there's nothing else I can say.
There's nothing else I can explain to this.
Speaker 5 (06:24):
No, because they're tired, mate, they can't do you think
they can press like they If we hadn't played Thursday
night and I had a rotated that team, you think
it would have been pressing a bit more aggressively today.
Speaker 6 (06:35):
Fair chance.
Speaker 5 (06:36):
Unless you don't think they're human beings, unless you're sort
of superhuman, you think no, after playing Liverpool Thursday night,
they should be flying today. It doesn't happen the human beings.
Why do you think Liverpool and other clubs rotate eleven players?
Speaker 6 (06:49):
Why?
Speaker 5 (06:50):
There's a reason I wish I could do the same.
So you can bring a freshness to the team. So
of course they're not playing anywhere near the levels that
we want and explain, but that's not because they don't trying.
That's not because I can't. They can't. Well, I'll keep
saying I think this group replies, once we get the
(07:12):
rest of the group being will we'll be an a
standing team. I've got my dad about that. Whether other
people say that, I don't know, there's no interest to me.
But if you want to measure anything on what they're
doing at the mindment other than the fact that the
extreme situation they're dealing with, then I think I think
your analysis is scued.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
And he defended the players in that saying, you know
they're not they're humans, they're human beings, and there's eleven
of them playing twice a week for the past two months.
So I just don't think changing the manager and changing
vision does a damn thing.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Frankly, thanks, I think it's it's a real confluence of
events here, and I know people have narrow minded views
when it comes to your club and want to just
talk about the injuries and not blame the manager one bit.
(08:05):
And I'm not saying that you're totally in that category
because you do have to give the manager a little
bit of blameman. He was totally out coached against Villa
on the weekend.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
I mean, if you if you look, I know you're
I know you're you're shaking your head here.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
But if you look in the middle of the park
and we can get into that game, I'm not gonna
I don't even I really don't even want to talk
much about the Liverpool match because you, myself and anybody
out there who's a neutral or a fan of either
side didn't actually think that Tottenham We're gonna go up
there and boss the game around. What we thought was
(08:43):
that Liverpool were gonna go We're going to get a result.
Even the most ardent of Tottenham fans, in your heart
of hearts, if I asked you, would you go through,
I know you would have told me no. I I
just the way the club is playing now, in a
different fully healthy.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
If we were talking three months ago, if this match
was played perhaps.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
But for one at home full string you did.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
But we go back and you look at doctor Tottenham right,
you give Pallas their first win. I don't want to
go over all the matches, but I want to go
to one in particular, and the ipswitch match at home, Right,
And I look back and I look to see who
actually played in that game.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
How many regulars were out for that for that ipswitch match?
Speaker 3 (09:30):
One, it was Van even every if you look at
the entire starting eleven for that match for Carrio, Son,
Kolasewsky so Lanky, it was only Van Derven that was
out for that ipswitch match, which they lost inexcusably at home.
So and again I don't mean to select that one
(09:51):
just simply because that was arguably the worst result of
the year, But it has to be just more than
the injuries at this point. And I I know you're
in the minority, Bred, but at what point is your
breaking point? Like, at what point are we going to say, well,
he's done all he can I am in your camp
and saying that right now, you can't. You can't throw
(10:15):
a new manager in there, because that would just that
wouldn't solve anything at this point for the for the
last few months of the season. I think that they
should assess things in the summer, But to not even
think about changing in the summertime is a little bit
short sighted, I believe.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
I think you're short. I think you're a little too
as happy and I I do like and I think.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
Changing your manager would be short sighted. Just all the
results are going well, all right, see you later, we're
moving on to the next project. That's short sid But.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
You've had but you had title and trophy winning managers
in there, right, Marinho and contact and nothing changes.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
So what is going to change? Full health? Luck like
you got.
Speaker 4 (10:55):
The only thing I can't get rid of, leav Robb
can do that.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
No, no, you can't know.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
The way I compare the way I compare Levy is
like it's like Levy is your landlord.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
It's like he doesn't own the club, but he's he's
like the landlords.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Like you can't just call up your landlord and be like,
go go away, I don't want to see you anymore.
Like he's he's just that, so you just go. But
his success is tied to the club. I just think
the entire I think you're not giving and enough blame.
I think also, but I also listen, I'm trying to
play this down because I don't think it's totally his fault.
(11:31):
I think you've definitely I mean, eleven first team regulars
out is that no team.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
Can sustain that. But you can't put in the type
of performances week after week.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
I mean they can't, Robbie, they're human beings. They're being
run into the dirt. They can't rotate. You know who
we brought on that last match. And by the way,
you're wrong, Mikey Moore with Charleson, Mickey Van der Van
and Wilson Orderbar were all out for the episodies game
and off for injury as well.
Speaker 3 (11:57):
Okay, so any of those that, any of those guys
are not you're first starting eleven. Don't give me Mikey
Moore and Charleson. They're not first choice players at this point,
are they?
Speaker 2 (12:06):
No, they're not.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
Can we bring the first choice so we can't have
any subs, is what you're saying.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
But what I'm saying is that in that match that's
starting eleven should be good enough to beat it switch.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
At home they should have been.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
Okay, So okay, so at least we're in agreement there,
But so what is your brain? I may have just
gone over a lot of bluster there and you're definitely
in the team and in categories.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
So yeah, these so these two, So these two cups
you're out of, you're in the Europa League and the
league is gone.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
So coming up to these these few matches coming up
in the league like United and you know, and you
say that these matches don't necessarily mean a ton when
it comes to jeopardy with the league and it's where
do you sit with their importance with the manager? Do
you think that if they keep churning out these results
(13:00):
in the league because now they're out of two cup
competitions and all they have to worry about is two
things now and really one because it's it's Europa League
or bus for them. But in the league, do you
think that those performances because that's your bread and butter.
I think we've mentioned the word butter like six times
on this podcast so far. Are you still going to
(13:21):
be there? Obviously you root for them every week and
you want them to win, but is it going to
affect in your mind the results short term on Ange?
Like do you think that we're now past the point
of no return where it's gotten bad, to the point
of where he's not it can't get any worse. They're
not gonna get relegated, So we're at the point of
(13:44):
where it's just okay, We're just gonna ride it out
and I really don't care what happens in the league anymore,
or does it. Do you think that there is some
jeopardy for him when it comes to the performances the
rest of the year. Forget about Europa League. We know
what they're trying to accomplish there. I'm just talking about
weekend week out, Saturdays and Sundays in the league. Do
you still think that that may have an effect on
ANSWER's future?
Speaker 4 (14:04):
Well, about five minutes ago, you made my point for
me where they brought in Conte, they brought and Mourinho,
and they brought in all these trophy managers and still
they couldn't get anything done because it is the history
of Tottenham. It is that is Spurs. So you made
my point for me that you can bring in any
manager right now and it could very well be the
same problems over and over against I don't see what
(14:26):
the I don't see what the issue is of just
sticking around and seeing out a project because they don't
do that. They they never have done that. They haven't
done that in years to actually see a project through.
But here's here's the thing. I can give you an
answer from my perspective. I can't give you an answer
(14:48):
from Levy. Levy could wake up tomorrow and say, you
know what, enough is enough excuses or excuses, get this
guy out of here. And I mean that's entirely possible.
Lev works in mysterious and he's no God. Let me
tell you far from it. So I can't tell you
what his future are going to be. And I can't
do any predictions. If I were Daniel Levy, I would
(15:09):
stick because this is an unprecedented injury crisis where he
literally can't rotate. I mean, I'm going to tell you
who was on the bench, which, by the way, Villa
got a whole week arrest. U Spurs did not.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
That factor it also, and going up there was never
going to be easy to begin with. So you did
get bad draws, there's no doubt a bad Listen. You
advanced in the Carabell Cup as far as you could,
and obviously the FA Cup you got a bad draw.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
So I mean we got we had to play Liverpool
and Man City in the Carabell Cup, but you.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
Know they and they were full marks. Listen, they got
some great results in the Cup.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
They ousted City and they beat Liverpool in the first
leg one nil, so they definitely put in performances. So
maybe it is up to fatigue, but I think it
was up to the moment. I mean, I watched that
Liverpool game. Nobody wanted to be on the ball until
they were down two three nil, and then it was
nice And it's easy to be on the ball and
pink passes when you when there's no jeopardy, when the when,
(16:05):
when when?
Speaker 2 (16:06):
When the game's done?
Speaker 4 (16:06):
When that's just it's just like in the NFL. The
clip off the clip that I sent you of Angel,
the one that I played earlier in the pod. You're
assuming that these people are superhuman, never get tired, never
run out of energy, can just press press press all
day long, twice a week for two months, and it's
just not reality. Here's the here's the bench for for
(16:27):
Spurs against Villa Brandon, Austin Fraser, Forster. Two keepers Ben Davis,
Dante Casanova who on, let me actually hit the button hoo,
Malachi Hardy hoo, Sergio Regulono even though I know Regulon,
but I'm just doing the bit. And then a Jaia
who scored the goal one time that that was our
bench against Villa. None of those guys are coming on.
(16:49):
It's just a fact, and so you're stuck with the
only eleven that's healthy. I mean, I could run through
the list of one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine,
ten players according to foot Mob. I think there's eleven total.
I don't think they're showing one. I could do this
all day. But the fact of the matter is you
and me vehemently disagree on why this is a thing.
(17:09):
I believe that they're running to the ground. They're dead tired,
And Am said it himself. Do you think we'd be
pressing more if I could actually rotate a squad? You
bet I'd be pressing more. I just played it. But
he can't, and they can't because they're exhausted. But no, no, no,
they need to be the superhuman non human people who
can just run until the cows come home and play
(17:31):
these sides who have way more rest than spurs week
in and week out, twice a week. It's just I'm
sick of the whole ajout thing entirely because it's so
short sighted. It's so in the moment right now and
not looking at the forest. They're looking at the trees
and looking at a tree from November fifth of last
year and saying, well, there's a rotten tree from last year.
(17:53):
So this guy's got to go because this is trouble.
It's just, in my opinion, it's nonsense.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
Okay, I'm on record, and obviously, as as as an
Arsenal fan, I don't want anything good to happen to
your club. But I actually, as I've said earlier in
the pot, I'm not sure it was before or after
the clip, but I'm not agenda driven here to use
his words.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
I mean, if you.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
Watch that or you or you heard that clip, I mean,
of course they are.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
But you and you and I.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
Know because being in the media and being in the
reporting world and being in in this realm, you know
as well as I do that no matter what the
sport or what the country, reporters are always going to
try and get gotcha questions. It happens to the President
of the United States, it happens to the head coach
of the Minnesota Vikings, and it happens to the and
(18:42):
happens to anspasta conglu So that's.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
Never going to end.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
And it's it's always about being media savvy and it's
always about giving the answers that the reporters want to hear,
not what you want to say. I mean Enzo Maresca
for and we'll get into Chelsea later in the podcast.
I mean, he was basically asked, you know, about them
not bringing in players and and there, and they're them
(19:10):
not having a striker and them having problems scoring and
things like that.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
And he was a company man.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
He played he played the company line, you know, and
goes into these press conferences and it's it's he takes
a blowtorchs to.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
It, you know, not club, no, not to not to
the club, just to just to the entire to the
entire media, to the entire No no, no, no, no, no no
no no. I said the media. I didn't say to you.
Did I say that? I meant I said to the
media because he doesn't.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
Like the entire team, is what you said. But that's
that's sorry.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
I met, I met in the entire media. I didn't
mean the team.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
So when he when he's in these press conferences and
he's taking these questions about, you know, well, why aren't
you you know, changing it up, and why aren't you
doing this? I mean, go back to the the Brentford match.
I mean I watched him after that. He was he
was beaming, beaming. He it was almost like it was
(20:04):
like a different d when when you watch that press
cut he was smiling. I mean, they they got a
clean sheet on the road and in a place that
Arsenal and Tottenham have not fared well in recent seasons.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
Not easy, not easy.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
To go there, and they and they got a good
result and then they capitulated in both cups. So while
I get your point about them not being able to
rotate guys in look at bournemouths.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
I mean they're missing a ton of guys too, and
they keep churning out results.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
Counterpoint, what happened to Liverpool.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
Well, Liverpool ended up rotating their guys and bake up
and they ended up getting knocked out. And but you
know what, I honestly I don't mind what they did
because those those kids have to play at some point.
Speaker 4 (20:52):
I'm saying, when your big guys are out, you are susceptible,
is what I'm saying. When you're starting guys are not playing,
you are susceptible to anybody. That's what That's the point
I'm trying to get across.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
Okay, I'm it's I'm not totally this is not one
hundred ange. So I I have reiterated during this podcast
that despite all your troubles, I do not think that
it is the right move to get rid.
Speaker 4 (21:18):
Of him big older.
Speaker 6 (21:20):
But no, no, no.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
The reason why, the reason why I asked about the
league is because I first of all, you don't play
in Europe for a while, and second, yeah, no it
is and hopefully you'll get for your.
Speaker 4 (21:34):
Wish we had this four nations face off break. I'll
tell you that much.
Speaker 3 (21:40):
Yeah, but you know who did have a break, Arsenal.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
We'll get to them in a second.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
But I think, I think, yeah, they're in Yeah, they're
in Dubai getting some warm weather trading in, which is
where I'll be next week. Not in Dubai, but in
warm weather. So we're having Yeah, well you were in
whether a couple of weeks ago, not too.
Speaker 4 (22:01):
Warm, but no, Well I should have been, but I wasn't.
Speaker 2 (22:04):
Yeah, I get yeah, he gets a Las Vegas. You
wake up it's forty eight degrees.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
I'll be waking up on a boat in the middle
of the Caribbean and it'll be probably seventy six. So
but but the United, But the United matches the next one,
and uh, it's it's big for a lot of reasons.
Speaker 4 (22:24):
I don't think it is big.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
I don't think match to match like now at this point,
which is what I got into in the in the
last discussion with you, I think we're pass the point
of no return when it comes to Levy getting rid
of him, Like I think the time, if if they
were going to it would have been a couple of
weeks ago.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
I think that's when the fever pitch like now.
Speaker 3 (22:47):
I even though they're out of the two Cups, they
weren't expected to win either either one of those matches.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
If they would have went out in the Cup.
Speaker 3 (22:56):
On Sunday at home to a bad to like plim Like,
if they would have went out like Liverpool.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
Did m hm and played just their first teamers because that's.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
All they had it available to them, they would have
been receiving a lot more criticism. But because of the opponent,
and because they had to travel again, and because of
how good Villa are at home, and because of the
lack of squad depth, healthy squad depth that they have.
(23:26):
Of course, that you're gond, you're gonna give Agi pass.
But the question is how when is enough enough? I
know you love this manager. I'm not saying that in
the short term that he needs to go or anything
like that. But now moving ahead, and let's kind of
project a little bit ahead, and we'll get into Arsenal
in the in the next segment. But let's say we
(23:48):
come to the end of the year, they finished somewhere
between tenth and sixteenth. Okay, okay, tenth and tenth and
tenth and seventeenth. They're not gonna get relegated, and they
end up not winning Europa League. They up making I
don't know, the quarterfinals or even the semifinals, right, yep, okay,
And they come back next year and they come back
(24:10):
with it with the same healthy squad. Do you firmly
believe in your herder arts that they are good enough
as constituted to compete for a top four spot went healthy.
Speaker 4 (24:21):
I mean, that's the world's biggest if possible, because it
hasn't happened. I think if they potentially keep tys tell
and they stay healthy, which again is a huge thing.
They were one game away last season, they're one game away.
(24:43):
There are two points away.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
And Villa, and Villa snatched it from the YEP.
Speaker 4 (24:48):
So it's not like a preposterous statement to say that
they're at their best and that's the key word here,
is at their best around that level, because they've done it,
We've seen it with there's tangible evidence that it's happened
under this manager. I'm willing to say, and again, I'm
willing to just write off this entire season and just
(25:10):
move on because I mean this, because your question is
how much is too much? Like what if we finish tenth, Well,
what if we finish eleventh, Well, what if we finished twelfth.
It's like, I'm willing this has just been one of
those It happens in sports. It happened in my braves,
it happened to the wild like three years in a row.
It's one of these things that just happens. You get
(25:31):
stuck with these injuries and you can't do anything about it.
The best manager in the world could come in right
now and still face these same problems. I'm willing to
write this entire thing off and move on with ange
next season. Let's get a full reset in the summer.
Let's go hit the golf course, Let's go hit the
hot tubs in the ice bass and come back and
train to camp, probably in Korea again, and move on
(25:52):
with this squad. That's that to me. I'm already on
to next season as far as I'm concerned. Well, hope
we get a Europa League result. I know that he's
coming back this week. I think the Cario is going
to start training this week. So slowly but surely they're
coming back. But we'll see.
Speaker 3 (26:06):
But okay, so even when healthy though, right like and
and I will not deny obviously they were. They were
getting better results, but they were still for me too
few and far between. I mean, we can go and
we can pick out some results from either this season
or last season. I mean they went to Villa, they
beat City this year. You know, they blew them out,
(26:27):
They blew United out of a steak whatever. Those are
just a few matches. I mean I'm looking at the
overall kind of resume and just the the record and
the and and and just the litany of kind of
(26:48):
head scratching performances.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
I guess is what I'm I'm trying to say.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
Is while you enjoy his brand, you enjoy his brand
of football, and you think with a healthy squad that
that they can kind of adapt to the way he
wants them to play and this and they're working towards something.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
Basically, this is.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
Not just kind of this is gonna be the same
thing over and over again, and we're gonna get you
know what, We're gonna keep losing to bad sides and
we're gonna keep beating good sides.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
And that's kind of how we're just gonna write out
this whole thing.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
You think that there's a way to change that where
they could grind out more consistent results, and you think
that with a healthy squad they could do that and
move their way up the table. What I'm saying is
the evidence that he's put forth over the last couple
of seasons would be way too volatile for me, and
(27:43):
I would take a long look at it in the offseason.
I'm not saying that he's the right guy for the future.
I think that he is here for the short term,
and I'm not saying just for the end of this
y And but I I can't see him and his
style and just just the way he he conducts himself.
Speaker 4 (28:08):
Just I just you just you don't like it. He's
prickly to the to the media who try to poke
every week you don't like.
Speaker 2 (28:15):
I just I just think that it's not Celtic.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
You know, you're not going in there and bossing around
the lower league like you have to sometimes. You know,
know your place and know the history and and just
know that this, I mean your fan base more than almost.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
So you want them to just roll over press conferences.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
Yeah, we're just little taught.
Speaker 4 (28:37):
We can't do anything.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
I'm about to give I'm about to give you credit.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
Like I admire the Tottenham fans and I admire them
for their passion and their commitment to trying to to
get the club right and focusing all their energy on
Levy has taken has taken kind of the eye off
of what and has been doing. And what you're saying
is that you're getting it now. When you go to
(29:04):
a local bar here, there's people here who don't necessarily
like the manager and and kind of contentious about that.
Speaker 4 (29:12):
So I mean everyone I target number one in the bar.
I mean, he got booed every time they showed him
on the screen. But it's still people just think that
a manager change just is going to magically solve everything.
And I don't know how many times spurs And this
is what I've been trying to preach in that bar.
How many times do we have to chop and change
managers before we realize that it doesn't work And they go, well,
(29:35):
you know, at least we could have gotten potched. I'm like,
we could have gotten potched back, like, well, I've patch
had these injuries would have been the same thing. But
we're talking about.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
I will ask one more overriding question, and this has
to do with the players. We've talked enough about. Ach Okay,
when I watch those two matches this week, or when
I just watched Tautenham in general, but especially this.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
Week, who would you say, okay is the lead on
the pitch? Who who?
Speaker 3 (30:03):
Who would you say is somebody who's gonna take somebody
by the scruff of the neck and basically like say, hey,
get get your ass and gear, get in the game,
like let's go.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
It ain't sun and it.
Speaker 8 (30:14):
Ain't it ain't, it ain't mad Like I wish they
had an old school somebody who can take control of
the game and just make some going for a nasty
tackles like I.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
Didn't see any of that, like and and again, if.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
We want to go back to, oh, well, this is
this is this is what they are their kids and
they're running to the ground and they're not challenging and
this and that, Like, we didn't see a lot of
that in that in that match, and it was disappointing
to you, and and and and I.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
Know it was.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
And I get the competition, and I get the fact
that they're playing Thursday Sunday, Thursday Sunday, and this is
what but this is what, this is what these teams do.
You're not the only one end. Nobody is signaling you out.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
And back to ants here, Well, they are one hundred
percent singling them out. That's entirely false. But go ahead.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
But but that's.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
Because they're but that's because they're putting out poor results.
I mean, but be then as it may.
Speaker 4 (31:07):
Just I just don't think you're understanding what I'm saying.
But it's fine. I just don't think we're gonna agree
on this, which is fine.
Speaker 2 (31:14):
But no, that's fair, No, that's fair.
Speaker 4 (31:15):
And there and for the record, I think you're right
in one sense. The whole the leader, the old school
yell at getting someone's face, I don't think they have that.
And Sonny's not that Sonny is the lead by example
type guy, which doesn't always work. So I'm actually in
lockstep with you on that. I don't think they have
one of those guys. I'm not sure if getting essentially
(31:37):
Roy Kent to come in and vi the midfield, I'm
not sure if that's gonna help. But I agree with
you and your overall point about the leaders.
Speaker 3 (31:44):
Yeah, like even and I know he wasn't the greatest,
uh you know, player for them, but like.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
Even like Parisage, right, like Contage.
Speaker 4 (31:54):
In but yeah, he wasn't and screaming though, No, but.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
At least he's out there putting it a shift like.
Speaker 4 (31:59):
He and then he tore al.
Speaker 2 (32:01):
Yeah, but right exactly, But at least he's out there
putting it a shift.
Speaker 4 (32:04):
I mean, he actually was good under Ange. He actually
thought this is this is funny. He played like two
months for Ange, maybe less the first season last season,
and he said publicly, we're gonna win trophies with Ange.
He said it publicly. Parasage tears is a cl and
goes back to Croatia like you just can't make it up, Robbie,
you can't. But that was because he's just weak mentally,
(32:26):
and he should just play through the tour in a
cl because Ange is a bad manager. So it's just
I don't the whole thing. I just don't. I just
don't agree with them.
Speaker 3 (32:36):
I agree with the them. The former the former Watford
striker Troy Deany who has no long Troy Deaney is
an analyst who is a former Watford striker.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
He's on CBS Sports.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
He's also uh he also does games for Talk Sport
and uh, he was on I forget what outlet he
was on. I was listening to. But he did the
game for CBS, the the Tottenham Liverpool game.
Speaker 2 (33:08):
Yeah, and he called him soft.
Speaker 3 (33:10):
Now he's a former player, okay, and the S word
is not something that athletes like.
Speaker 2 (33:17):
It is very taboo when you call somebody soft. I
mean there were certain Robbie there.
Speaker 4 (33:23):
I'm going to lighten up the mood. What if you
call them s a w F T So that probably
wouldn't be great either, No, it wouldn't. And you know
what my response is to that, you're not a good midfielder. No, no,
he's not. He would run, he would yell and scream,
(33:44):
that's for sure.
Speaker 3 (33:46):
He's I think he's more like Lossandro Martinez right, when
I think of looks like Lessandro Martinez, I think Big.
Speaker 4 (33:52):
Cast could get net. Perhaps he could save a pen.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
And this right here is Big Collins six.
Speaker 4 (33:59):
And you can't no my response to them, to him
calling them soft as you're not paying attention, simple as that,
and and again not to go back to the ange presser.
He he basically says, if you can't see that this
is a big issue, there's nothing else to say. And
and that's kind of and I completely agree with him
because it is number one, two, three, four, five number problem.
Speaker 3 (34:24):
Well, well, when a former player like that comes out
and says something and not an analyst and not some
Jimmy carrier.
Speaker 4 (34:31):
Calls him soft every week and call it says Andrews
a fraud every week and he's a bum too, so
and Tim Howard's a bum, so I can call this
guy bum too, and.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
We move on.
Speaker 3 (34:39):
Well, Well, be that be that as it may. It's
it's been a soft landing for Arsenal in Dubai. They
as they have, man, that's that's a stretch for a
segue there.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
But Arsenal had over to Dubai.
Speaker 3 (34:53):
They didn't play this week, and I think we've talked
to enough about Todd.
Speaker 2 (34:58):
I think we're we're god.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
I think we're kind of I think we're kind of
agree to disagree, but we also agree that he should
he should last the rest of the season, Like it
makes no sense to get rid of him now I would.
I think I think we're gonna agree on that. But
moving to Arsenal, over to Dubai, we get some injury
news this week. Gabrielle Martinelli's gonna be out the better
part of a month. It looks like they're gonna get
(35:20):
him and soccer back for the United match which comes
up in early March, maybe the Chelsea.
Speaker 2 (35:27):
Match, oh boy as well.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
But before that they have Leicester, they have west Ham,
and they have Nottingham Forest and then obviously they're rounds
of sixteen European tie, which will be the first week
of March.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
So they get a little break here.
Speaker 3 (35:41):
They're out of both cups obviously as as we know,
so they get a little time to relax or recharge
the batteries.
Speaker 4 (35:48):
Yeah, nothing's really happened since the last time.
Speaker 3 (35:51):
No, just just some just some brief news on kind
of how they're gonna cope with the Martinelli loss. I mean,
I mean we saw him, yeah, I mean we saw
tet change it up up top in a couple of
these games. Playing Tressard is the false nine, and they're
really going to have to rely on some of the
younger players, just like your squad, but much less in numbers,
(36:13):
like like Generi's gonna have to play a lot because
now they've lost Jay Seuss to an ACL and they've
also lost Martinelli up front, so it'll be interesting to
see they do have some lesser opponents coming up. Although yes,
Tottenham and Lester are the best team in the league,
but no.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
They take no it really is.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
But I mean, I mean, if you think about it, though, Brett,
I mean I have to give this stat I mean,
since rud Van nisselbroy took over, I mean, they have
been absolute garbage. They've won one match in twelve and
it was against your squad.
Speaker 2 (36:48):
I'm just dating facts.
Speaker 3 (36:49):
It's not even like I'm standing opinion at this point.
Those are the facts as I see.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
Them, don't.
Speaker 4 (36:53):
You don't speak in if but maybe nontunately Lester. Unfortunately,
that's that's good. You know what I'm talking about, right, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (37:06):
Okay, but that'll be the lunchtime.
Speaker 4 (37:10):
Serious serious, serious, serious. I'll have to add. That's another
thing I'll have to add and post is that video.
Speaker 2 (37:20):
He's the best football player in the world.
Speaker 4 (37:22):
I don't know why, people why.
Speaker 7 (37:24):
He's laughing for what? Chris, why are you laughing for?
I'm being shatish, I'm being shayish. No you no, you
see I'm talking. I don't do if Butcher, maybe about
are you.
Speaker 2 (37:34):
Are you being serious? Maybe we should do Maybe we should.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
Do one episode where we just do them in accents,
just different accents and see.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
How many people.
Speaker 4 (37:46):
I wish one of my little features on my on
my new board that I have would turn it into
an accent. That'd be a cool little future.
Speaker 3 (37:53):
But can have some some violins in the background, maybe
some some wine to a little French accent.
Speaker 4 (37:58):
And be a fulling fan.
Speaker 3 (38:03):
But no, and then there was there wasn't a lot
going on this week. I mean, like I said, you know,
Martin Nelly out, you know, kind of hurts. But yeah,
I'm just kind of biding my time until this injury
crisis kind of ends. With soccer and now with Martinelli
and the big games come, I think they'll they'll be
able to get by Lester and West Ham without those
(38:24):
Without those guys, then they're gonna take on Dontingham Forest,
which will not be easy. Uh, there's an international break
coming up in March, so I mean, I think they're
geared up for the for the rest of the season.
I'd love to see them win one or the other.
We really don't have to talk about the league because
Liverpool play Everton in a couple of days.
Speaker 2 (38:41):
From now and that game will open up the lead
almost to double digits again.
Speaker 3 (38:46):
So but if they would have played that game two
months ago, now, Everton are playing a lot better, So
we'll see if they can come up with the league.
Speaker 4 (38:55):
At Goodison Park, you lost the league a good they're
probably gonna win the league, but neither he nor.
Speaker 2 (39:01):
Yes so so so we'll see what.
Speaker 3 (39:03):
But again, not not a time going on with the
Arsenal in this one.
Speaker 4 (39:07):
Yeah, and I agree. I want to ask this question
because we can knock out two of the Big six
and one question worst Cup exit Liverpool to Plymouth or
Chelsea to Brighton.
Speaker 3 (39:18):
Your thoughts, Well, I watched both of those games and
us as as much as I want to say at Liverpool,
I think it was Chelsea.
Speaker 2 (39:25):
I mean, they showed up in that man.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
As for the first time, I thought that they showed
up as an entitled bunch.
Speaker 2 (39:33):
I mean Brighton.
Speaker 3 (39:35):
Brighton had just come off a seven to nothing thrashing,
so you knew that they were going to be up
for the game, because after you get beat like that.
Speaker 2 (39:43):
I mean, it's it's professional pride to come back and
play really well the next game.
Speaker 3 (39:46):
And that's what they did. And Chelsea did not turn
up for the game, not one bit. Metomas scored a
great goal late.
Speaker 4 (39:54):
He's not like him.
Speaker 3 (39:56):
So no, I like Matoma's well, I like Matoma for
a while. At what at one point, uh last season,
he was valued pretty high. He could him for sure, Yeah,
forty or fifty million perhaps. I mean he's a he's
a good Premier League player. I mean he's not a superstar,
but he's he runs and runs and he's really really
really good in.
Speaker 2 (40:14):
The in the final, in the final third.
Speaker 6 (40:17):
So uh.
Speaker 3 (40:18):
Just it's very disappointing day for both of those clubs,
and especially for Chelsea, who had a legitimate opportunity. If
you look around the f A Cup, that's going to
be an opportunity that I think they miss for the
especially for this manager coming in and boom, I mean
Eric ten Hogg won a trophy. So I mean for
Maresca to come in and win it. I mean look around,
(40:40):
look around and see now that Liverpool around. I mean, yeah,
City are in it, but I mean they're they're completely inconsistent.
Newcastle are still in it, and aston Villa are in it.
But other than that, I mean Ipswich, fulham Born. I mean,
Bournemuth are still in it and they're playing well, but
I mean mill Walls in it, Preston North End. I mean,
(41:00):
so you have a lot of lower division sides, which
is why I think because Liverpool have these other competitions
that they're in prime position for Chelsea do not other
than the Conference League, which that's great.
Speaker 2 (41:12):
They could put that on their wall. League next year.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
You'll never sing yeah, Conference League champions, You'll never sing that.
Speaker 4 (41:20):
You know what's funny too, side don't sidebar They were
singing that. I saw the video at tonamhots Meer Stadium.
Champions of Europe. You'll never sing that. Do we count
Europa League and Conference League as champions of Europe? Do
we count that?
Speaker 6 (41:35):
No?
Speaker 3 (41:36):
So I if Tottenham won the Europa League this year,
Chelsea fans couldn't chant that.
Speaker 4 (41:40):
Okay, but I have news for you. We have won
Europa League. I don't know what we're talking about here
because they haven't.
Speaker 3 (41:51):
Then it's then it's by definition, because I think if
you win Europe, you win either one of those leagues.
Speaker 2 (41:56):
But clearly you're just saying, well, you know what it's like.
Speaker 3 (42:00):
It's like here in the States if you if you're
the n I T champion and you don't win March Madness,
yeah you're not gonna you know, many n I ts
I went to growing up in New York. I mean,
being a college basketball fan, that's all I can go
to was the n I T because they played it
at Madison Square Garden, which is your fave favorite arena.
Speaker 2 (42:18):
For some reason now. But it was fun going to
the n I T.
Speaker 3 (42:21):
And heck I even saw the Minnesota going and the
golfers winning an IT and cut down nets, which is
probably the only time that perhaps I'll be able to
see them do that in Madison Square Garden, but but
maybe elsewhere elsewhere at some point we'll be able to
see that. But it was pretty cool seeing that. But
back to soccer, Yes, it's just like Europa League.
Speaker 4 (42:39):
The n I t of Europe. Really, yes, yes, it
really it is it which is sad.
Speaker 3 (42:46):
It is. But if if somehow Tottenham going a run
and you say that this season is a complete wash,
and then all of a sudden, two months from now
I'm sitting in your apartment and you're in a semi
final like you're gonna be. You're gonna be just as
up for that as you would for any match.
Speaker 4 (43:02):
Spurs are on their way to bill Bow, I thought,
I'm gonna do it again.
Speaker 2 (43:08):
Is that is that where the Europa League final is?
It is?
Speaker 4 (43:11):
Yeah, in Spain, in Spain, Bill in Spain that the
reindeer in Spain was mainly hit by the plane. So
the other news I wanted to talk about. So that's
kind of Liverpool and Chelsea I think ticked off. Yeah,
so Man City have a little bit of a scare
at Leyton Orient in the Cup. Uh funny enough the
(43:34):
manager who thought, like you and most of the media
that and is a big excuse, making hypocrite and set
it publicly in a press conference. I'm still mad about
it because we loaned out Jamie Donnelly to them. But
it's neither here nor there. I think Harry Kane was
loaned out there at one point too. Jamie Donnelly scores
a halfway goal, catches the city keeper off their line
(43:56):
and all of a sudden we've got a game for
like seventy minutes before Man City bring on the reinforcements,
because that's what big clubs do is they have these
benches that can come on and then they can bring
on de Bruyna and Foden and John Stones and Bernardo Silva.
That's what big clubs do, Robbie. They have benches that
are that deep, not to not being passive, aggressive or
(44:18):
anything there so, and then once those people come back on,
it's like, okay, now City just come on and roll.
De Bruno gets the winner. But a little bit of
a scare for City going into a Champions League playoff
with Real Madrid.
Speaker 2 (44:35):
You know what it felt like to me? It felt
like and I hate to go back to your club.
But no, boy, the Tamworth.
Speaker 3 (44:41):
Game, Am I right or wrong? I mean, you laugh,
but there's truth and every I mean it's true. I mean,
if you think about it, I mean they weren't necessarily
outplayed for the for the match, but they didn't do
anything that convinced me that.
Speaker 2 (45:00):
I mean, obviously they had to they had to go
to was it extra.
Speaker 4 (45:02):
They It was similar in the sense that I knew
that game that I was never in doubt.
Speaker 3 (45:09):
It was.
Speaker 4 (45:10):
It was that game and the most recent Europa League
game Elf Spur.
Speaker 3 (45:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (45:15):
I never had a doubt that they were going to
win that game. Never once I knew they were going
to break through. It was all Spurs the entire way. Yeah,
even against Tamworth. I think I said that that week,
like never a doubt, didn't care whatsoever. I think that
was a jet Jack pitt Brook episode. So but yeah,
it was similar to that. But once they brought in
the big boys, they shut it down. But this this
(45:35):
real Madrid thing, which is happening tomorrow. By the way,
the fan has learned. I'm fire like I might watch
that whistle to whistle. I can't wait for that.
Speaker 3 (45:45):
Yeah, it's a two legged tie and it's it's going
to be wall to wall just action because the city
are not in the chase for the league at this point,
so it's Champions League. But I know they're in the
f A Cup, but it's basically champions or bust for them.
Speaker 2 (46:01):
They want it before.
Speaker 3 (46:02):
They clearly have the talent to do it, but the
question is can they put in the consistent performances against
one of the best teams in the world. I don't
think that they're getting through. I think they were lucky
to get through the group stage. They ended up getting
that result. They even went down in that last match
against Club Brusia, but then ended up scoring some goals
(46:23):
and progressing.
Speaker 2 (46:24):
And who do they get. They get Real Madrid.
Speaker 3 (46:26):
So I think they're going to be two and done
here and I do not see them progressing. And just
the way that they're playing, they inspired no confidence and
the fact that they've been playing poorly in Europe inspires
nothing for me. And I saw the way Arsenal handled
them a couple of weeks ago, and I think Real
Madrid will do the same.
Speaker 4 (46:47):
No, I agree on all fronts, and I cannot wait
to watch it. I'm fired up. I'm trying to think
of We talked about everyone, I think, but United, but
we've kind of skirted around United because Spurs play them
the Sunday, so we kind of touched on them. But
boy are they mean. There's no rest for the weary
over there, and you want to talk about short sighted.
(47:10):
Anyone who thinks that Ameron needs to go I think
is insane. Uh And and that could be gold Bridge
or whoever.
Speaker 2 (47:17):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (47:17):
If Goldbridge has called for his head, it wouldn't I
wouldn't put it past him. But everyone just needs to
calm down. They got lucky against Lester with the with
the Harry Maguire terrorism who was off sides, but Crystal
Palace at home February second, losing that can't happen. So
big game against my club Spurs. But I just think
(47:39):
it's so soon. You can't get rid of Amorn.
Speaker 2 (47:42):
No, he's not going anywhere either.
Speaker 3 (47:44):
You have to give him time and you have to
have him bring in his players. He needs a full summer,
another full year to bring in who he needs to
kind of plug and play in his system. I think
coming from Portugal always going to take some time. You
had to get the dead wood out of the club.
There are some players there that that just embarrassed the
(48:06):
Manchester United shirt. I'm not going to get into who
they are, but there are some really really poor, poor
players out there, and I just think that that's that
moving forward, he's the right guy for it.
Speaker 2 (48:17):
I do believe that.
Speaker 3 (48:22):
Different than ten Hawk, who I didn't kind of trust
and believe in. I mean, all you have to see
is some of the recruitment that he made, Anthony coming
in for almost on a hundred billion, and he was
a disaster.
Speaker 2 (48:32):
So I mean, I'm amarim. I think.
Speaker 3 (48:39):
United will always have money in the coffers to go spend,
and despite them not splashing in the January window, I
do think that they're going to use this summer and
while they won't be in in the Champions League unless
they do win the Europa League and get in the
Champions League, I do think that they will kind of
reinforce the squad and perhaps be back up near the
(49:01):
European spots next season. So I do believe in amorim,
and I think that they'll they'll they'll turn it around
in due time. They've been down for they've been down
for too long.
Speaker 4 (49:10):
I don't think that's preposterous. I think that's actually likely.
It's getting to the point where I'm gonna need to
see it, like it's getting that bad, where like let's
see some signs of progress before I start buying it,
because I remember, and I might even you know, burn
all the predictions for this year anyways, you know, just
(49:30):
out of embarrassment. But I'm old enough to remember. I
think it was two years ago where I thought you
United were gonna be the Bee's knees. I thought They're
gonna be great, and I still remember getting burned by
it because they were terrible. They stunk. So I'm at
the point where it's a little bit of I get
they have all the money and they're historic, the huge club,
probably the biggest club in the country. I'm gonna need
(49:53):
to see it. I'm gonna need to see some results
and see some consistent results. And I am playing with
fire saying I need to see it. When the next
opponent is Spurs playing with fire saying that I acknowledge that,
so hopefully that reverses the jinx that I just put
on my own club. But overall, long term, I'm going
to need to see some signs of progress and morale
(50:13):
because that is almost a deader mentality than Spurs. It's
they're right next to each other in the table thirteen
and fourteenth and the mentality is just horrible. But I
don't think I mean, I'm looking at their injuries or
who they're at the four people out according to the
site that I'm seeing, Johnny Evans, Martinez, lu Shaw and
Mason Mount. Mason Mount, who stinks hasn't played well in years,
(50:36):
so it's not quite the same as Spurs. I think
they're just playing poorly to my knowledge, but that's neither
here nor there. I'm just gonna need to see it
before I start buyding.
Speaker 3 (50:44):
No, And there's some interesting games this week, including your match,
which will.
Speaker 2 (50:51):
Wrap up Sunday.
Speaker 3 (50:52):
Chelsea will take on Brighton again after falling to them,
and the Cup Liverpool take on Wolves.
Speaker 2 (50:56):
Arsenal will take on Lester. They should take care of that.
Speaker 3 (50:58):
Liverpool should take care of Wolves, although it has been
playing a little better.
Speaker 2 (51:01):
And your your.
Speaker 3 (51:05):
Matches is definitely it's the it's the Demolition Derby, it's
the car crash, it's it's the two teams that are
kind of kind of floating around and looking for a
direction at this point.
Speaker 2 (51:16):
And we'll see if I mean.
Speaker 3 (51:18):
Let's unless they both unless they draw, and then you're
kind of left, you know, wondering what.
Speaker 2 (51:24):
Yeah, one of one of those teams.
Speaker 3 (51:25):
Is going to come out of that with some momentum
heading into those European games, because if you look around
and not to get into and I'm sure in future
episodes will get into kind of the nuts and bolts
of who they're playing in Europe, and I'm sure you're
gonna study up on their opponents and things like that,
because that's really what's going to be the most important
games for Tottenham the rest of the season, and it
(51:48):
could be.
Speaker 2 (51:48):
One of those opponents in due time.
Speaker 3 (51:50):
So and then they're right in the in in Europa
League with you, so this could be a good preview
of what's to come. I mean, we we did have
an all English Europa League final a few years ago
when Arsenal had Uniamri as their manager and they lost.
It was either three or four nil to Chelsea in
Azerbaijan when they had when Chelsea were already finished top
(52:11):
four and Arsenal were outside the top four and needed
it to get in Champions League and they completely capitulated.
Ye worst match I think I've ever seen them play
in a big spot in in the last probably ten
to fifteen years. So but that's for down the line.
Your your squads in Europa League. Taken on United this
week also in Europa League, and I'm looking forward to
(52:32):
I'm looking forward to a lot of matches this week.
Bratt Tottenham United, I'm looking forward to it. Like you said,
City Madrid. Just there's a lot of good stuff going
on as the NFL season wraps up. Soccer is in
full swing.
Speaker 4 (52:42):
Yeah, the Abyss is here, but not for us. The
season rolls up right And the one thing I wanted
to point out before we go, Liverpool travels Crosstown to
Goodison Park. We already mentioned the game. We didn't mention
for the final time going to Goodison Park. This is historical.
What is happening on Wednesday. I think that just needs
to be noted.
Speaker 2 (53:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (53:03):
No, Goodison Park definitely, uh, one of the iconic venues
in the in the in the history in the Premier League.
I mean we've had we've had some Americans play over there,
like Landon Donovan who made his home uh in in
in Everton played there for for I think thinking.
Speaker 4 (53:21):
The bomb known as Tim Howard.
Speaker 2 (53:23):
He played a year a year and a half. Yeah, yeah,
let me mention Tim, but there you go.
Speaker 4 (53:28):
Didn't Didn't Clinton play there for a little bit?
Speaker 2 (53:31):
Clint played, he played, he played at Fulham so oh yes, yeah,
yeah he sure, yeah boy, yes, yeah.
Speaker 3 (53:43):
I can only imagine if you were following Spurs at
that point, how obsessed you would.
Speaker 2 (53:46):
Have been over an American striker playing for your team.
I mean, it just would have been.
Speaker 3 (53:50):
No, well, it would have been people come to life.
That's basically what it would.
Speaker 4 (53:53):
Have been, essentially. Yeah, right right, I mean.
Speaker 3 (53:56):
Actually, actually, when you played FIFA, do you make yourself
a number ten or do you make yourself number nine?
Speaker 4 (54:01):
I wear number ten, but I play number.
Speaker 2 (54:03):
Nine, got it? Okay? See, so folks, if you're if
you're keeping notes out there now, you know for next time. Yeah, exactly,
But no, it should be.
Speaker 3 (54:12):
It should be definitely a fun, fun week of games,
and this was a fun episode with Brett Blake Moore
for Brett and myself. We'll be back next week to
recap all these Champions League matches.
Speaker 2 (54:25):
Tottenham take on United, Arsenal take on Lester. Come on
you gunners, Brett co o y s, I.
Speaker 4 (54:30):
Guess, come on us Burns.
Speaker 2 (54:34):
And we'll talk to you next week. Have a great week, everybody.
Speaker 4 (54:37):
I'm loving Big Ange instead
