fired earlier this year for drinking on the job and
sending derogatory texts about a suspect, Karen Reid. Meantime, finally

is committed to the ceasefire, that he helped broker between
Israel and Hamas and wants to move to this second phase.

The Gabriel House assisted living facility fire took the lives
of ten residents in July, and now the Fall River
Fire Department releases a report to unpack what went wrong.
In the twenty seven page after action report, fire officials
say oxygen tanks for medical use were almost certainly accelerants
in this case. The three story building has no hallway,
fire doors, or ways to mitigate smoke. Also, the report

(02:36):
says what made it difficult for rescuers was the fact
that there was only one elevator and that ac units
in Plywood, we're covering a lot of the windows, which
left smaller bathroom windows is the only viable escape route
for many. The report also recommends better staffing, more training,
and legislative action that enforces fire code changes for assisted
living or high risk facilities like this. Jawill ed WBZ

Boston's news radio checking the four to A w's the
active weather forecast. We are pushing away our rain and
bringing in some sunshine. Some sunshine this afternoon for a
few spots, but really we'll have to wait till tomorrow
to have a nice day. We had the rain earlier.
Some of it came down really heavily and caused a
little bit of flooding and ponding in some areas too,
So I'm good to see the rain disappear, even though

(03:18):
we need it to help with the drought. There are
still a few spots of precipitation. They're moving mainly to
the north and to the east. They are cross parts
of central Massachusetts right now, out in the four ninety
five belt around Westborough and then up toward central mass
and a line here that runs from about north Brookfield
up to Gardner, crossing the route to court Or. There's

(03:40):
a little bit more out toward Athol, and then more
further west than that. So there are still some showers
and such that you make it under if you're heading
out toward the western part of the state.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Over the next handful of hours. The bulk of the precipitation, though,
is saying goodbye well to us and hello to northern
New Hampshire and Maine. It is going to be a
clearing sky tonight, with temperatures back into the fifty degree range.
Forties in the suburbs, mostly sunny pleasant Tomorrow sixty six
for the high. Then we get the clouds back in

(04:08):
a couple of showers Tomorrow night, low fifty five. Wednesday,
we'll start with a few showers. They'll be variably cloudy
skies after that, mid sixties, with perhaps some sunny breaks
Wednesday afternoon, and then Thursday partly sunny eyes in the
low sixties. Right now, it is sixty one degrees in Boston.
At least one person is actively rooting for a crummy

(04:30):
day like this was wdbc's Hyle Schaffel spoke to her.

Speaker 7 (04:33):
Most people hope and pray for a sunny day, but
Jennifer Goldenberg is just the opposite.

Speaker 8 (04:37):
They also start coming in a lot when it's raining,
so we'll see a big flow of traffic today because
it is disgusting out.

Speaker 7 (04:43):
She's the owner of Sit and Knit yarn shop and
mill Rose. She says traffic is highly seasonal and also
depends on the weather. When it's rainy, more people think
about knitting and find their way to her shop. She
says a rainy weekend in the fall can be absolute
mayhem for her and other yarn cellars.

Speaker 8 (04:57):
There have been days like we just there's two of
us here because somebody can knock get off the register.

Speaker 7 (05:03):
A twenty to fifty percent sales bump starts in late
August and goes through the fall.

Speaker 8 (05:07):
We discovery uptick in our sales probably starting in August
September when people are starting to think about Christmas gifts.
It's getting chilly out. I want to make a warm sweater.

Bright sunshine and only a handful of rainy days. Kyle
Shaffle w BUS Boston's News Radio.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Some users have still been having some trouble logging on
to some popular sites. Today ABC's Mike Debuski explains.

Speaker 9 (05:30):
Amazon Web Services says the problem is tied to its
Domain Name Service. DNS is the technology that translates what
you type into a web browser like Facebook dot Com
into an IP address, which tells the computer where to
go on the Internet. While Amazon had said the issue
had been fully mitigated, just after three thirty am Eastern Time,

(05:53):
the website down detector is reporting another spike in outages.
A few hours later, Mike Debuski.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
It's less than two weeks to Halloween. Now what's your
favorite candy?

Speaker 1 (06:04):
The most recent data shows Halloween's favorite candy contains peanut butter.

Reese's Peanut Buttercups took the crown, and this was followen
closely by Penut, Eminem's and then Eminem's kit Kat and Snickers.
