at four o'clock, good Saturday afternoon. I'm Madison Rodgers, and
today it is a solemn final farewell to Pope Francis.
Hundreds of thousands have gathered in Rome today morning, a
groundbreaking pontiff who wished to be remembered as a simple pastor.

Senator Red Marky called being at that funeral one of
the great honors of his life.

In Battekin Square, there was incredible applause that kept breaking
out amongst these tens of thousands of people who had gathered,
and it was just a recognition of the incredible contribution
which he has made.

President Trump is now returning from Rome. Outside the funeral,
he had a conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart, which the
White House is calling very productive. However, on social media,
mister Trump is now sounding doubts as to whether President
Putin wants to end the war in Ukraine. Crowds rallied
on Boston Common this afternoon, marking sixty years since a

day in civil rights history, the nineteen sixty five Freedom Rally.
On that day, doctor Martin Luther King Junior addressed crowds
from the Parkman Bandstand. That's what local leaders did this
afternoon too. Among those in the crowd Dorchester Reverend Minyard Culpepper,
who says his grandfather took part sixty years ago.

I had to be here, whether it was raining, whether
it was thundering, whether it was snowing. I had to
be here to continue the legacy, fighting for what's right,
fighting for justice, fighting for peace, not just on Boston Commons,
but all across Boston.

a downtown march and the formal dedication of Freedom Rally
Square at the intersection of Boylston and Charles Martin. Luther

It's been a bumpy start for the new South Coast
Commuter Rail extension, and we're seeing more problems this weekend.
Rail operator Keioli says shuttles are again replacing select trips
on the Fall River New Bedford line today and tomorrow.
The extension opened just about a month ago, bringing the
first trains between Boston and the South Coast in sixty

five years. Along with those shuttles, we've seen a lot
of delays and canceled trips in the last month. Staffing
is a big part of the problem. As an MBTA
Maya culpa free weekend trains have now been extended through May.
That is just on this Fall River New Bedford line.
In New Orleans, a federal judges ringing the alarm over

a two year old child that may have been wrongfully deported.

The court filing the father of the girl, identified as VML,
says she was detained along with her undocumented mother and sister.
He called to say that the youngest, two year old
VML could not be deported because she was an American citizen,
but as court filings were pending, his lawyers say the
three women were deported and released in hon Duras On Friday,
a federal judge in Louisiana said it appears there has
