I'm Suzanne Sasville. Here's what's happening. A big win for
Mayor Michelle Wou in her battle with President Trump. A
judge blocks mister Trump from denying funding to Boston because
of sanctuary policies.

San Francisco judge making the ruling late Friday night, saying
that the Trump administration can't cut off or condition the
use of federal funds for cities out of limited cooperation
with federal immigration efforts. Judge oric also blocking the president
from imposing two immigration related conditions on two grant programs. Boston, Chicago, Denver, LA,
and thirty other cities and counties sued after Attorney General

Pam Bondi turned up the pressure with the letter demanding
an end to sanctuary policies. Mayor Woo has been critical
of the Trump administration's immigration crackdown and says Boston won't

The Massachusetts Secretary for Veteran Services is stepping down. Governor
Mora Healey's office says doctor John Santiago will resign in
the fall to return to a career in medicine. Santiago
was appointed to lead Veteran Services in March twenty twenty three.

backed legislative reforms like the Hero Act, which expanded benefits
and programs for veterans. He also fast tracked the construction
of two new soldiers' homes in Chelsea and Holy Yoke.

now heads to Governor Greg abbots Dask, who called a
second special session last Saturday to get it passed. House
Democrats killed the first special session after they fled the

across the country, a Foxborough man who served time for
manslaughter is now facing a murder charge in Boston. The
Globe Report's forty two year old Taylor Hurst was arrested
Thursday in connection with a death in Jamaica plane. According
to officials, the victim, Stephen Gomes, was badly beaten when

his body was discovered under a bed last month. Hearst
pleaded not guilty to murder at his arraignment yesterday and
ordered held without bail. He previously spent fifteen years in
prison for strangling his pregnant fiancee to death in two
thousand and seven. There's a high surf advice along the

A Bridgewater couple pleads not guilty to raising nearly eighteen
thousand dollars for a homeless man and then keeping the
money for themselves. Brian Ferrera and Rachel Cattis allegedly started
a GoFundMe campaign in March that they said would help
support a man named Greg, but the Plymouth DIA's office

says Greg told police in June that the couple hadn't
given him any of the money that was raised. Greg
died just a few weeks after reporting the alleged theft.
A great day on Wall Street yesterday, stocks rose after
FED Chair Jerome Powell signaled the Central Bank made lower
interest rates.

Members of the Central Bank will meet next month. Powell's
comments also came with a dose of skepticism about the
US economy following a week July jobs report and continued
concern over President Trump's tariff policy.

There is significant uncertainty about where all of these policies
will eventually settle and what their lasting effects on the
economy will be.

President Trump has repeatedly criticized Powell and called on the
Central Bank to lower interest rates, something Powell says the
FED will decide independently when when we come too late.
