Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is WBZ at Boston's news radio, redefining local.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
News fifty eight degrees in Boston at four o'clock. Good afternoon.
I'm Suzanne Sasville. Here's what's happening. We're continuing to watch
developments out of Bourne after a serious crash shut down
the Bourne Bridge shortly after one pm. One driver was
(00:29):
trapped in their vehicle and was transported to Saint Luke's
Hospital with serious injuries. Multiple vehicles were involved in the crash,
and Massport says the bridge will remain closed as police
continue their investigation. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternative routes
as the closure will likely last for hours. We'll get
(00:52):
the very latest coming up in traffic on the threes.
The Northeastern could cost some hiccups at Logan Airport this week,
and both for travelers and for one construction project. Wbz's
Emma Friedman has details.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
Crews have been working to make runways safer at Logan
Airports since September. The seventy five day closure expected to
end in mid November, but Massport's CEO Rich Davi says
stormy weather could put that on pause.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
If there are high winds, there could be impact not
only to the airport, but obviously to that project for
a day or two. We're going to keep a close
eye on it.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Massport's runway safety work is focused on installing an engineered
material arresting system at the end of Runway twenty seven,
which is basically a crashable material that helps stop an
aircraft that's running off the end of a runway. It's
a two part project, with the second closure set to
begin next summer. While Massport waits to see how the
storm will affect the project, they're asking travelers to keep
a close eye on their flight status through the holiday weekend.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
But as you always ask folks to check with your airlines,
check our website to see if their impacts are delays.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
I'm a Breidman WBZ, Boston's news radio.
Speaker 2 (01:55):

with families of the hostages and address Israel's parliament. After that,
he's set to attend a summit in Egypt with leaders
of more than twenty countries. ABC's Ian Penell has the latest.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
The gathering is kind of aiming to mark the end
of the war in Gaza or reinforce this enhance efforts
to achieve peace and stability in the Mill League. So remember,
for President Trump, this was never just about Gaza. This
was about a much bigger deal and much bigger vision
to enhance the Abraham Accords, establish normalization between Israel and
(02:53):
other countries, and at the same time do business.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
In exchange for the hostages being released, Israel expected to
free around two thousand Palestinian prisoners and detainees. And before
I get into the weather, I have some good news
for Patriots fans. They beat the Saints twenty five to nineteen.
That game is over and the score again the Patriots

is happening right now, well, it could be happening right
now now that it's high tide, as well as rough
surf and beach erosion, especially toward the Cape and islands.
Windy tonight and tomorrow with rain heavy at times, some
risk for beach erosion, localized wind damage and possible street,

of us for the weekend.

It's fantastic. Honk is credited with starting new music movement,
spawning similarly loud, colorful festivals all across the United States
and the world. The Hank Parade itself is a massive
train of groups trying to gather attention for social causes
amid the brash sound of horn and drums.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
