four o'clock. Good to be with you. I'm Nicole Davis
and here's what's happening. Day two of testimony continues at

Norfolk Superior Court in Denham in Karen Reid's second murder trial.
The jury hearing testimony from a handful of witnesses, including
Carrie Roberts and Canon firefighter Daniel Whitley. They were both
at the scene the morning John o'keef's body was found
in the snow in Kenton. Whitley says he was trying
to comfort Read that morning, telling her it appeared she
had a strong support system.

She had been crying, crying in her hands, and I said,
you know, it looks like you have a very strong
support system. And she picked up her heads. She had
her face in her hands. She picked up her out
of her hands, looked at me and said, do you
know Carriy Roberts And I said, as matter of fact,

I do. And she said anybody who knows carry Roberts
wouldn't say that about her.

back against an order from a judge to return a

detained tough student to New England, The Globe reports, according
to court filings, immigration officials have appealed a judge's order
to return Ramesa os Turk to Vermont. Court filings also
show the administration has filed a motion to keep her
in the Louisiana detention center where she was taken after
her arrest. Last night, several members of the Massachusetts congressional

delegation went to that detention center visiting Osterk and other detainees.
Senator Ed Markey says he believes her Fifth and First
Amendment writes are being violated as she was arrested for
a critical op ed on the war in Gaza in
her school paper, and today marks a historic reversal from
typical protocol for the state's highest court in the Harmony
Montgomery case. Here's w b z's Brooke McCarthy.

The Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts rules that audio recordings
of a custody hearing for Harmony Montgomery can be released.
In twenty nineteen, the Essex Juvenile Court gave Harmony's father, Adam,
custody of her despite his criminal history. Last year, Adam
was found guilty of her death and sentenced to over
fifty years in prison. Filmmaker Bill Liechtenstein is filming a

documentary called Broken that explores the absolute secrecy of Massachusetts
child protection and juvenile court systems. In its decision, the
court found that releasing the recordings for the documentary may
help better inform the public both about what happened to
Harmony and if there are steps the child welfare system
can take to prevent this from happening again. Following the decision,
Lichtenstein says this will help protect children and families. Brooke

President Trump says he's now planning to put his own
personal stamp on the White House lawns.

Late Wednesday morning, reporters suddenly saw President Trump walking around
the White House North lawn with his personal aid and
three Secret Service agents. The President was pointing to the
trees in the grass and surveying the expansive lawn. Reporters
scrambled at the driveway to capture this surprise outdoor presidential excursion.
Mister Trump telling us he was looking around because he's
planning to install quote, beautiful flag poles for the American

flag on both the north and south lawns. He said
they'll be one hundred feet tall. He'll pay for them himself,
and they'll arrive in about a week. Karen Travers ABC

They only start we're in the hauling business a few
weeks ago, and they've already got a couple jobs under

And if you're currently receiving unemployment assistants or filing a
new claim this week, good news you can now get
those benefits or up to thirty weeks. The extension from
twenty six to thirty weeks was automatically triggered as part
of a state law, as happens anytime the unemployment rate
in any of the state's major metros climbs above one
point five point one percent over a twelve month average.

New federal data shows Springfield recently had an unemployment rate
