It's September first. I'm Sherry Small and here's what's happening.
The weather should cooperate with the holiday again today.

We have a list of set of clouds on this
Labor Day. The humidity won't be quite as low as
the past couple of days, but it'll still be very comfortable.
We'll get to a high seventy four this afternoon.

right up. Boston's first ever Labor Day parade is underway.
Darlene Lambos of the Greater Boston Labor Council speaks to
the crowd full of unionized workers.

Santa To workers are on who are on strike from
republic Services are marching in the parade today. That parade
stepped off at the State House at ten thirty It
heads along School, Washington and Congress Streets and then wraps
up at City Hall Plaza. Governor Mori Heey and Boston
Mayor Michelle Wu are also there. All of the activities

are being conducted in cooperation with the Greater Boston Labor Council.
Three people found shot to death yesterday morning in Watertown.
Police responding to a home on Boyd Street that said
about ten am yesterday for a wellness check, two women
and one man were found dead. A preliminary investigation shows
the three people knew each other. One of the women

lived on one floor, the man and other woman lived
together on the bottom floor in a separate space. Authorities
calling it an isolated incident and say there's no threat
to the public. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is
in a New Hampshire hospital after being injured in a
car accident.

To his teams, he was on the highway in New
Hampshire when he noticed that there was somebody on the
side of the street needing help. He pulled over to
call nine one one. It ended up being a domestic
violence victim that needed help with police. He waited there
with them until authorities arrived, and then when he returned
in his car got onto the highway, and then we're
told that's when that car accident took.

Place, and the former personal attorney to President Trump suffering
a fractured vertebrae and other injuries as well. And now
the four d a WBZ achu weather forecast partly sunny
today on this holiday, a high of seventy four, so
another mild day, clear to party, cloudy overnight dropping to

work with sunny skies and high of seventy two. Wednesday,
a few more clouds, warming up to a high of
seventy eight. Thursday a high of seventy nine with a
mix of sun and clouds. And then if we look
ahead to Friday, a little more humid on Friday, sun

oh five. It's a Labor day weekend tradition in Gloucester,
as ships from all over the East Coast set sail
for the annual Schooner Fest, which ended yesterday. WBC S

America's oldest seaport, is the destination for anyone that loves
all things ships.

This is absolutely the super Bowl of schooners.

That's justin dimitri the historian for Maritime Gloucester, the group
that puts on the festival. It pays tribute to the
classic schooners that once filled Gloucester's harbor and ran its
fishing industry. It's an opportunity for people to watch the
ships in action and get a chance to see these
beautiful ships up close and personal. Dimitriy says his favorite
part is the schooner parade in the harbor, because it's
like looking back in time.

This is the closest you're going to get to see
what our harbor looked like back before e ngimpower took
over the sea. Two dozen traditional rigged crafts failing around,
dancing just for your own amusement.

This year, though with tensions high between the US and Canada,
Nova Scotia's Blue Nose two did not make its long
awaited return to the festival.

Actually, they're doing such great tourism business right now since
Canadians are staying home, that they didn't really want to
ruin this good time they're having up there, So we
really couldn't knock them from Gloucester.

Primary care physicians represented by the Doctors Council of the
Service Employees International Union, we'll be holding an informational picket
outside of Mass General this afternoon. That's going on at
twelve thirty. Senator Ed Markey and Boston City Councilor Sharon
Durkin are expected to participate. Organizers say that the physicians
are calling on Mass General Brigham to respect their union

vote and begin contract negotiations. The majority of MGB primary
care physicians voted in May to unionize. Mass General has
challenged the makeup of the bargaining unit to National Labor Headquarters.
Americans are on the move in record numbers over this
long holiday weekend.

The TSA expects to screen of record seventeen million passengers
at America's airports through Tuesday, making it the busiest Labor
Day travel period on record. According to Triple A Ticket
prices for domestic flights are down six percent from last year.
Lower pump prices have more people hitting the roads for
the holiday, marking the unofficial end of summer. I'm Mark

So far this morning checking the flight board over at
Logan Airport. According to flight Aware, so far today there
have been fifty flights canceled at Logan and excuse me,
I'm sorry, fifty delays at Logan and one flight canceled.
That is all right, just in time for Labor Day.
A survey asking questions of working Americans survey fives.

Fifty five percent of Americans thank tariffs and inflation ari racing.
They're hard work, reducing spendable income.

Seven of ten think they're working harder this year than
last year. Three and five Americans say it's not easy
to get a job right now. Percent of Americans are
planning to spend less this Laborty Week compared to last year.
