rather good morning. I'm Nicole Davis. Here's what's happening on
your Thursday. Amtrak marking a step toward high speed railroad travel,
but don't expect record speeds the whole way just yet.

A special announcement greeted passengers of the first Amtrak Next
Genacella train out of South Station. Amtrak President Roger Harris
says this new fleet is built with high tech tilting
abilities too allowed to go faster, but also keep it
comfortable for customers so you don't notice the tilting. Harris
says it's a big upgrade for the passenger experience too.

Physically, it rides a lot more smoothly. And the other
thing is when you get inside, I think you'll really
notice that the windows are bigger, there's more light.

But these new high speed trains won't be moving at
the speed of light for now.

A lot of the anytime versus the maximum speed relies.

the Trump administration has taken over control of Union Station
in DC, claiming it's necessary to clean it up and
fight crime. During today's celebration on the new Assella Trains,
Deputy Transportation Director Stephen Bradberry said South Station in Boston

might also be on that list. Bradberry claimed it's necessary,
saying work has to be done on cleanliness and crime.
The MBTA runs South stations, that could make it more
complicated for the FEDS to take over operations like in DC.
Union Station is owned by the Federal Transportation Department. At
eleven oh two, Minnesota is in mourning after the mass

shooting yesterday at a Minneapolis Catholic school. Two young children
were killed, seventeen other people were hurt.

At a vigil last night, the mayor thanking the school staff,
saying without them, the death toll could have been higher.

The teachers and the faculty at annunciation that through their
bodies on top of.

is unveiling the results of a review of the city
school transportation system. This independent review was launched after five
year old Lentz Joseph was struck and killed by a
school bus this year in Hyde Park. The mayor says
Boston Public Schools will adopt all the recommendations.

That means building on the work we've already done to
increase our day to day oversight of the Transsev contract,
including more paper audits and reviews, driver files and credentials
at unannounced visits to the.

Bus yards and the contractor. Trans Deev will hire more
safety trainers to make sure everybody is properly trained. The
city will meet with the bus drivers union as well
to talk about safety reforms. The forecast looking good today.

We've got a couple of showers and storms possible. Some
of these storms could be strong to severe with some
hail and gusty winds. So we'll be watching things here

Ernie d Gregorio. Judge DiCaprio, known for his show Caught
in Providence, passed away last week from pancreatic cancer. He

Island Convention Center. He will be laid to rest in
Cranston tomorrow after a funeral mass. Eleven oh seven students

will never forget. Dozens are stung by yellowjackets when the
school bus drop off disturbs an underground high The insects
stings target more than three dozen kids and a teacher
almost as soon as they step off the bus. Officials
