the WBZ Storm Center.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Now, we've got this coastal storm making its way into
our neck of the woods.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
Total snow accumulation a little more than a slushy covering
to perhaps an inch inn or near the city one
to three inches. North and west suburbs three to six
inches beyond four ninety five, where this is going to
be mostly a snow event.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Now, road crews, I've been at it before dawn since then,
making sure cities and towns have all the salt and
sand they need.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Giant front loaders are moving quickly, loading up trucks with
large piles of road salts. It's the first big test
for the Eastern Salt Company in Chelsea. Cornelius Martin has
been looking forward to this.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
First big storm with the seasons early in the year,
which is good.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
Normally we don't have snow this early. I think twenty
twenty is the last.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Time the other snow before a sizeable snow where they
did roadwork Spretsalt.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
He says both today and tomorrow will be busy for

new developments in the deadly air strikes against an alleged
drug boat in the Caribbean. The White House initially denied
there was a follow up attack that killed two survivors
of the first, but now says there was a second attack,
(01:52):
but it insists it was legal. Your CBS is Nancy Cordos.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
Secretary Hagsas authorized Admiral Bradley to conduct these kinetic stripe.
Speaker 5 (02:00):
Reading from prepared remarks, the White House Press Secretary said,
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth did order this strike on a
suspected drug boat on September second, but did not issue
an order to kill everybody. As The Washington Post first
reported this weekend.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Hag Seth says an admiral made that decision for the
second strike, but stands by his decision. And we're getting
deep into flu in covid season here. The City of
Boston says it's running more free vaccine clinics, making sure
anybody who wants a vaccine can get it. Next ones
on Thursday morning in South Boston over at the Curly
Community Center. On the tenth, there's one running at the
(02:37):
Hyde Park Community Center from three to seven. Watkins are accepted,
but the city prefers you pre register. No insurance is required.
Anybody older than six months is eligible. And when it
comes to the storm that's moving through today, well let's
see what you get depends on where you're going to be.
Looks like the heaviest of the snow is now through
parts of central and western Massachusetts. We will see this
(03:00):
coming down for much of the afternoon into the evening hours.
We have a winter storm warning near and beyond four
ninety five and if you're in the Boston area right
along the coast, we have enough of that warm weather
where it's going to keep it more of a maybe mix,
but mostly rain situations. So when it comes to all
the totals here, as this storm moves out tonight, we'll
(03:21):
leave behind a slushy coating to an inch in the city,
about one to three inches north and west three to
six inches if you're north and west of four ninety five.
That is where you might see some mixing. But really
this is going to be mostly snow and some in
the higher terrain of the Worcester Hills southern New Hampshire
you could see well over half a foot. So again
this is one of the days where we have to
(03:41):
make sure that you've got your devices charged. Could have
some gusty winds on the Capan Islands as well, so
power outages could be a concern. By the time this
all moves out tonight. Again, we'll have a low tonight
in the twenties of your north and west thirty four
thirty three, right on the edge there of freezing in Boston.
Then for tomorrow, partly sunny, high you're forty. You have
some snow showers on Thursday and a high in the
(04:02):
mid forties right now, clouds and Bridgewater thirty seven. Snowing
in Lemonster, twenty eight north of Boston in Georgetown thirty one.
Plenty of snow in Boston right now. It is a
mix that's coming down and worth thirty five degrees. Halloween
long gone at this point. It appears a robber west of
Boston didn't get that memo. Here's wbz's Kyle Bray.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
Milford man is facing charges after police saying he robbed
a gas station at gunpoint while wearing a ghost face
mask from the movie Scream. This happened Sunday night at
Riverside Gas on South Main Street in Milford. An employee
called police, saying a man in a mask stole several
packs of cigarettes and unsuccessfully tried to take money from
the register. Police located the suspect walking down Green Street
(04:44):
not long after and arrested thirty four year old Adam Besudo.
He's facing a dozen charges, including armed and masked robbery, assault,
and theft. Police say he had an outstanding warrant for
armed robbery in Boston as well. Kyle Bray WBZ Boston's
news radio.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
Hundreds of thousands of dollars are due to a Pebet
native after a judge ruled his way against now President
Donald Trump. Salem News reports it all stems from a
defamation lawsuit filed years ago by the President against a
group of Democrats, including Chuck Dolan Junior, who now lives
in Virginia. The President's team claimed Dolan lied to the
media about the president's ties to Russia. Federal judge dismissing
(05:20):
that suit back in twenty twenty two. Dolan then filed
for sanctions against mister Trump, saying his information was accurate
and not meant to be malicious. He tells the Salem
News the President's suit was quote undemocratic political retribution, and
he says he feels vindicated. And today's Giving Tuesday, a
day where you're asked to donate to your favorite charities
(05:40):
as we deal with a lot of holiday shopping fund
but it's also a day when scammers are going to
try and scam.
Speaker 6 (05:45):
Federal Trade Commission is now warning about Giving Tuesday scams
where scammers convince you to donate to a fake charity
then take your money. So before you make a donation,
first confirm that the charity is legitimate. The FDC says
that you can go to websites like give dot org
or charity watch dot org, search the name of an
organization there and check that it's accredited.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
And is ABC's Elizabeth Chelsey. With that update, you are
now in the loop for news updates throughout the day.
