News fifty nine degrees in Boston at six o'clock. Good
morning and welcome. I'm Charlie Berground. Here's what's happening in
the hall. Shreve Stava, the man charged with killing a
father who had just dropped off his son at his
school in Shrewsbury, being held without bail after his arraignment.
Prosecutors say Kevin Doherty saw a man spray painting graffiti

on a path over Jordan Pond early yesterday. He snapped
a photo of the man, later identified as Shreve Stava
and called police. Investigators say Doherty was shot when he
called the police.

Prosecutor say officers recognized the defendant because he had an
extensive history dating back to twenty fifteen. On Friday, police
returned to the scene of the deadly shooting search in
the area as the investigation continues. I meanwhile, neighbors completely
shaken up more in the loss of Doherty.

He was always a smiling and waving high You know,
it's truly heartbreaking for this neighborhood and my family.

say the case was dismissed a month ago. The governor
of Illinois criticizing the possibility of President Trump sending military
troops to Chicago like he's done in other states.

Governor J. B. Pritzker says the Trump administration has not
communicated with his date on a reported plan to send
military forces to Chicago, arguing President Trump has other aims
aside from cracking down on crime. Asked about a possible
military deployment to America's third largest city, pritzgertel CBS News, so.

It's clear that in secret they're planning this.

Well, it's an invasion with US troops if they in
fact do that, sources tell CBS News that major immigration
enforcement operations in Chicago could start as soon as next week.

One week ago today, a dead body inside a parked
car was discovered outside of the emergency room at south
Shore Hospital. The Patriot Ledger reporting the case is now
being officially investigated as a homicide, stating twenty seven year
old Declan Perry of Portland, Maine, was killed inside a
condominium at forty Driftway in Situate, where Perry had been

staying with Christopher Karen. Surveillance video from the hospital shows
Karen entering the emergency room speaking with staff before leaving
the building. Karen was later arrested on unrelated warrants, police
seizing a phone from him that matched the one scene
in hospital surveillance, but he has not been charged in

it's the unofficial end of summer and WDBZ Suzanne Soswelle
spoke with some folks about how they plan to spend it.

I caught up with Matt and his daughter Alexandra walking
along Wallaston Beach in Quinsy the ruck from New York
for a hockey tournament, and says the start of hockey
means the end of summer.

Playing a couple of rinks throughout the Boston area.

So we're playing five games over a span of three
days and that'll finish out the summer and Labor Day
weekend for us.

She's excited for hockey season, but I don't want school
to start. No backyard barbecues or trips to the beach
for so Amelia. She has to work Sunday and Monday,
and says summer went by too fast.

It was nice though we got nice hot weather.

There are many who are taking advantage of the long
holiday weekend by heading out of town. CBS's Nicole Valdi's
reports that people taking flight might be in for a
pleasant surprise at the airport.

Dedicated lanes for both military service members and families will
make your trip a little bit easier as you go
through TSA, but if you are still using the standard
TSA checkpoint, now you get to keep your shoes on,
which of course will make things.

A lot faster.

The TSA expects to screen more than sixteen million people
between now and next Wednesday. Are United Express flight from Aspen,
Colorado to Houston, Texas diverted after the pilots declare an
emergency report several people needed medical care. IBC's Morgan Norwood.

Images from inside the cabin showing oxygen mass deployed, a
menus stuck to the ceiling, the floor littered with passengers belongings.
The aircraft, with forty three passengers and crew on board,
forced to divert, making an emergency landing in Austin, Texas
to adult passengers later transported to the hospital. All injuries
said to be non life threatening.

Two passengers were hospitalized. Injuries not life threatening. The TEA
announcing forty new gates to collect fares for the commuter
Rail at South Station will be installed as soon as
next week. Riders will tap or scan their tickets to
enter an exit, but will still need to show their
tickets to conductors on local train routes. TEA staff will

be issuing formal warnings and citations to riders who skipped
the fair gate. Last fall. After placing what we're known
as fair engagement staff at some stations, the TEE said
it saw fair collection rates jump thirty five percent. Is
