the first time in a long time, we're above freezing barely,
but it counts thirty three right now in Boston. The
News at six brought to us by your New England
Toyota Dealer, your hybrid all wheel drive headquarters. Thanks for
being with us today. I'm Jeff Brown, and yeah, this
is acceptable cloudy today and not as cold as recent

(00:32):
day as it'll become breezey. You've been at such a
rain around the area late the high forty six as
WBZ acky weather meteorologist Joe Lundberg, and today's high would
be warmer than the average temperature. We are, however, watching
the potential for a snowstorm coming up this weekend. Three
game winning streak. Now for the Bruins, they beat the
Blues on the road in Saint Louis. The Bees will
travel to Winnipeg for a game tomorrow night. Celtics are

(00:54):
off until tomorrow as well. They're in Milwaukee, and the
Patriots are getting ready to host Buffalo on Sunday after noon.
In Foxborough, a win and the Pats clinch the AFC
East for the first time since Tom Brady. The most
infamous suv in Massachusetts could soon be yours.

to Karen Reid is set to hit the auction block.
JJ Manning Auctioneers will be conducting that auction for the
suv that Karen Reid was driving the night John O'Keefe
was found dead. The vehicle was recently fixed up by
an autobody shop in Weymouth and will now be headed
to the highest bidder. The Kelly Bluebook value for that

(01:32):
model of Lexus is seventy one thousand dollars. That vehicle
has twelve thousand miles on it and is reportedly in
great condition. So when exactly can you start placing your bids. Well,
we're still waiting on an official date and time for
when the auction will take place. Jim McKay WBZ Boston's
news radio.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
It has been a long time coming and delayed several times,
but now state marijuana regulators are ready to pass guidelines
for social consumption sites in the Commonwealth. CBS News Boston
reports cannabis Control Commission Chair Shannon O'Brien says regulations will
likely be in place for potcafs by the end of
this week. Social consumption sites would grant spaces for public

(02:15):
use in dispensaries, lounges, even yoga studios. The robots are here,
and we're more than a little concerned. WBSS Drew moholland
is here to explain what's up our craw Good morning, Andrew, Good.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
Morning, Jeffrey, Good morning Lori. And new survey finds most
of us have used AI ah, but most of us
are afraid what it might do to us. Okay, the
poll finds about seventy percent have given AI a whirl,
but more of us are concerned about its potential impact
on education jobs. Axios reports more than half of us
still trust independent experts for information, like you, Jeff Brown

(02:51):
in the Morning rank you. About half say AI will
likely take our jobs. Okay, that's a good turn. Don't
forget Lori, Jeff, myself. We're all human here in the morning.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Oh that's right. This is one of the coldest Decembers
starts to December that we've ever had here in the
city of Boston, and this morning it's quite shocking to
see the temperatures actually above freezing here in Boston. That
may not be true in some of our cities and
towns this morning, but it's making a little bit of
forward progress. And this is actually going to be a
mild day. Okay, So we start under partly to mostly

(03:22):
cloudy skies this morning, we'll see temperatures rise into the
mid forties. Today. It will be a mostly cloudy day
with a chance of showers, especially south of the city
and more particularly over the Cape and islands later on Today.
It continues to be mostly cloudy overnight. Tonight we'll stay
pretty steady in the temperatures right around the freezing mark.
And tomorrow it's going to be windy, mix of clouds

(03:43):
and sun. We don't get out of the thirties. The
cold air is right back at us tomorrow. We're looking
at the possibility this weekend of a storm snow in
nature headed our way Saturday night into Sunday. It just
depends again on the track of this storm, which right
now seems to be like it'll stay a little bit
farther south of us than any of us would be
looking for in terms of snow, but we'll get there

(04:04):
when we get there, and we'll know more as we
get a little bit closer. Right now in Boston is
thirty three degrees partly to mostly cloudy. Here in the
city this Wednesday morning, it is six oh six. Pops

leading the ensemble.

Speaker 6 (04:27):
I have to say, for a lot of us and
what's a very busy month in Symphony Hall, this is
many of our favorite moments, the musicians have told me,
because it is a real chance to see the impact
you can make.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
The Boston Pops and Tanglewood Festival Chorus spreading cheer at
Franciscan Children's in Brighton. Lockhart says, getting out of Symphony
holland doing something good for the community really means a
lot to the Pops.

Speaker 7 (04:49):
The feedback we get is just so amazing.

Speaker 5 (04:51):
Rachel Childers is a horn player with the Pops.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
And frankly Brian I got little gymnasium here.

Speaker 5 (04:56):

especially the brass players.

money on the table.

Speaker 7 (05:34):
Tonight's Powerball jackpod is an estimated nine hundred and thirty
million dollars, and she wants it, feels destined for it,
but maybe not today. That's going to be my life someday.
Clearly it's not it right now, not if you don't
buy a ticket, which folks beyond her or tell me
they don't.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
I just wouldn't waste my money doing it.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Oh yeah, I never played a power balls.
