real challenges, and unstoppable determination takes center stage. This is
the show that brings you unfiltered insights from leaders, visionaries,
and everyday warriors who refuse to sit on the sidelines.

hundred lives in thirty nine countries. Go to lifefac dot

it best. It is not the critical accounts, not the
man who points out how the strong man stumbles. The
credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena.

(00:51):
What inspired Arthur Lee protecting his daughter and then the
world's success Leaves Clues will explore each chapter of author's book,
Sorry Can't as a Lie, and hear from other men
and women in their arenas. Get ready to be inspired.
Welcome to the Man in the arena. I'm Rick Thatcher,
along with Arthur Lee and also Pat O'Rourke. Today we're

(01:14):
drawing inspiration from a classic tale of idealism and grit.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Mister Smith goes to Washington.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Great old movie, you remember it, a lone passionate man
stepping into the political heart of America to stand up
for what he believes is right. It's a timeless story
about fighting for change in a system built on bureaucracy.
Fast forward to today and Lifefact is writing its own
chapter in that story. Mister Lee and Life Fact goes
to Washington. In just a couple of weeks, Lifefac is

(01:42):
heading to Washington, d C. Not for a White House
tour or protest, but with purpose and innovation in hand,
for meetings with the US Patent and Trademark Office, ICE, Immigration,
Customs Enforcement, and the VA Veterans' Administration to discuss how
Lifeact can make a national and let's say, worldwide impact,

(02:03):
Real solutions and real policy on the table. Life Fact
has now saved count them. You guys know this. Over
four thousand lives just that we're reported.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
So go to.

protect those you love. We explore what's at stake, what
this trip means for public safety and innovation, and why
life acts journey to Watchington might just be the start
of something historic, and dare we say, Arthur Lee epic epic.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
I think it's a prime example of the man in
the arena. We watch the news and we watch mister Wonderful,
and I'm grateful that he brings attention to it. It
doesn't follow up, and it's not like he says that
next week I'm going to go do something about it.
He just tells you how we're all getting screwed, and
you know, goes on his way. Once again, I appreciate
the fact he brings it to light, but in our show,

(02:54):
it's about the real people and the real consequences. We
had the jump rope lady.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
On Molly and she was cool to help, but absolutely.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
The point was I was doing a little math in
my head. Between our knockoffs and hers, it's probably one
hundred and twenty us jobs that were lost. And once again,
it's not that we can't make it, it's not that it
costs more. It's just that the you know, it just
gets stolen and we get put out of work. But
I think you got missed the three thousand, right, Yeah,

(03:24):
and so I think it's kind of a cool shift.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
Ordinarily we hear from mister three thousand at the end
of the show, but why not, now that we've passed
four thousand lives saved worldwide, mix it up a little
bit and introduce to you the Nation Life Act Nation.
Mister Ray preby mister three thousand.

Speaker 5 (03:41):
Again, why am I three thousand? Well, let's tell the
story real quick.

Speaker 6 (03:45):
Love to do this.

Speaker 5 (03:45):
Why am I three thousand? I saved my little girl
maya number three thousand to three thousands reported save poor
life back on a Florida road while driving home from
a birthday party. And now, folks, we are over were
four thousand saves and it was just and again here
here's a little numbers game for you. One hundred and

(04:07):
ninety seven days ago, I saved my daughter with Life Back.
One hundred and ninety seven days later, one thousand saves
in one hundred and ninety seven days. Absolutely unbelievable. So Arthur,
God bless you, God bless this device, God bless everybody
at Life Back and everybody that has a hand in this.
There are so many people worldwide that are part of

(04:30):
Life Back and sutting the word and just hats off
to all of you because this is going to get bigger.
There's going to come a time when we do five
thousand in one year.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Yeah, baby, well said.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
And you mentioned international from a garage in Massapequa and
the brain of Arthur Lee to over thirty countries saving
a life.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Oh that is life Bay.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
We had what we did you get the scoop on
this morning?

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Ray?

Speaker 4 (04:56):
How many countries we had this morning? Canada? You k
in Australia.

Speaker 7 (05:01):
Wow?

Speaker 4 (05:02):
And then today so we have the UK today, UK
is well established.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
The Bannigan family brought early and including the first save
ever yeah with Live Back in twenty sixteen in a
retirement home assisted living facility. So, but some of these
other countries interesting? I heard Iceland with a Costco in
a Costco. Didn't know Costco was in But any Costco
warehouse he going to worldwide? Yeah, Iceland isn't in play

(05:29):
for bills?

Speaker 4 (05:30):
What are we buying Iceland? We should.

Speaker 8 (05:34):
Anything with a land Greenland Iceland.

Speaker 5 (05:37):
Anything is possible these days, guy, anything is possible. But
without further ado. Just this week alone, this week, forty
one saves. Since May second, forty one saves.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Just foury twenty four total. So we smashed right through
the four thousand.

Speaker 5 (05:54):
Lives unbelievable numbers, and they're gonna get bigger and better
in every day that we go. And again two hundred
days we have oney twenty three saves in two hundred days.
It's absolutely amazing. Since October twentieth, since my little girl,
two hundred days, one twenty three saves. It's just almost
uncomprehendible how fast this is growing.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
It's just you know, amazing, amazing, overwhelming good news. Yeah,
we're amazed. We're overwhelmed with the amount of good news
with the amount of lives save. So that's cool.

Speaker 8 (06:30):
And there's new Pope, but this is more important.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Yeah too.

Speaker 5 (06:35):
Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
I think we're going to be on sooner than we
are normally for a tape show, going out on the
weekend into La Houston, Orlando, and here in the Great
States of New York. But we just learned today and
it's not going to be news in a week or so.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
But new Pope. Oh yeah, Gray, what do you think.

Speaker 5 (06:52):
First American Pope? Yeah, definitely a big change. Hopefully everything
goes smoothly. I think it will.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
I think it's going to be good.

Speaker 5 (07:03):
I got an awesome highlight. This is this happens to
be number four thousands. So this is the.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
First a story, and this is an interesting story.

Speaker 5 (07:15):
This is an interesting story. So here we go. It's
a little bit lengthy, but it's worth every bit of it.
A ninety four year old male in Oregon choked on
sagam potatoes. The Heimlich was performed by a caregiver but
was unsuccessful. Life back was utilized four times, dislodging the obstruction.
His color from blue came back immediately and he was breathing.

Speaker 6 (07:38):
Well.

Speaker 5 (07:39):
Here's the details from the caregiver on the device. I'm
a caregiver for this ninety five year old wife who
has dementia. Just two weeks ago, the family hired two
caregivers to take over when I leave. Yesterday, when I left,
the other home care aid was in the house. The
gentleman start to choking. I was still in the driveway,

(08:03):
and she came running out to my car, saying, mister
p is choking. Not to be confused with me. Thank
god it wasn't me. But here we go. I had
previously bought several life backs and recommended that the family
purchased one as well. I ran back into the house,
grabbed their unit and administered it four times. A large

(08:24):
piece of steak and potato came right out. That's why
mister p sent me a beautiful text, thank you for
saving my life. Interest in my requiner and read a book.
He still works at ninety four years old every night and.

Speaker 9 (08:42):
Knows how to text. Yeah, exactly right, steak of potatoes
My kind of guy.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
And I understand from the depiction or the telling of
the story that the wife now she has dementia, and
as a husband, I can only really appreciate this part,
or relate to the part where she just continued with
the with the meal like nothing was happening.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
Yep, she she did. That was one of the details.
Where As he's choking, she just continued eating, not recognizing
the urgency of the situation.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
Horrible would have been to lose him and when she
needs the most, and he's courageous enough to be there
for her as she goes into the darkness. And that's
what a real man does, that's what a husband does.
And we saved tip and that's a beautiful thing, and
they got it because of her. So there's another beautiful
god wing for four thousand. We got Ray from three thousand,

(09:31):
and we got this beautiful story one.

Speaker 8 (09:33):
Thousand and two thousand. We should go look him up.
I'm serious. Yeah, there's so many documentary written all over.

Speaker 5 (09:38):
As a matter of fact, I will get those details
from Donna and that.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
Yeah, towards that, the Ray the work.

Speaker 8 (09:45):
Let's get back to Rick Bey being able to relate
to that.

Speaker 10 (09:49):
Just watching.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Oddly enough, we're out of time, so thank you so
much listening to rape preview, mister three thousand, We thank
you so much, and we're going to be back.

Speaker 5 (10:00):
Hey, don't cut me off yet. I gotta give my
final words, my words of wisdom here life back. Far
better to have it and never need it than to
need it and not have it. True peace of mind.
The life you save could be your own. God bless
and had a great evening.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
Thanks reminded on that, and we're going to be back
with more man in the arena. After this message, she
started to choke on a piece of candy.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
She wasn't breathing.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
Then Ray reached for the life back in it saved her.

Speaker 8 (10:29):
She could have easily died that day. A life back
saved her life.

Speaker 5 (10:33):
What I would say is, don't need a life.

Speaker 8 (10:36):
Back and not have it.

Speaker 5 (10:38):
Have a life back and hopefully never need it.

Speaker 4 (10:40):

Now on iHeartRadio, more of the Man in the Arena,
the Life Back Radio Show.

Speaker 10 (12:27):
Here again are Arthur Lee and Rick Thatcher.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
And also Paddle Urke discussing weekend plans and we're back
on the Man in the Arena.

Speaker 4 (12:35):
Well weekend planning soccer.

Speaker 8 (12:37):
It's a very life back it's very important.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
To talk about.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
Did you have farther? I had a great yesh. It
was fun.

Speaker 8 (12:44):
I thought the kid Tod be a little more skilled
at the halftime shootout. Yes, we have some work today
shows you where we get us some snipers. Yeah, come on.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
So we've been talking about well we talked to Ray Preby,
but on tonight's episode of The Man in the Arena,
we're talking about life back, went to Washington and taking
on a number of departments.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
Well, we've taken on the world in this thing for
the last thirteen years. And as you know, our show
grows and we get input from mister Wonderful and Fox
on this dilemma. But we're the guys in the arena.
Like before the break, I said, Okay, that's a hundred
jobs between us and Molly, and we should have her
back on. She knows a lot more about the depth

(13:25):
of the problem.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Creator of her own jump rope, great story of coming
up with this product and doing very well, and she
had employed many folks in the country, people, and it
was all taken away by a portion of our government
that's not doing the right thing.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
That's why we're in the arena and we're going to Washington.
We're going to go meet the Patent Office, and we're
going to meet Ice to talk about now and the
veterans administration is huge, which we'll talk about with CJ.
But the real key to why I believe one we
have to do it know it' suff for us. They're

(14:01):
selling dangerous medical device. So I think if we were
to eat the elephant, what if we got illegal products
take it down right. Let's start there, and and then
we could work into you know, patent infringement and you know,
copyright and all these other horrible things. But I think
that the simplest way to make it black and white

(14:23):
is Amazon has to stop selling illegal Chinese products. There Again,
let's start there, so we don't have to fight about
pat and I don't have to fight about copyright. I
don't have to fight about trademark. They have the ability
to say that's your problem, but it's a bigger problem.
And I don't think the awareness is about how Amazon
created this huge problem.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
You know, too bad.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
It's not Elon Musk behind Amazon, and it's Bezos, because
someone like Elon I think would do the right thing.

Speaker 4 (14:54):
I think so too, but I'm not going to you
know what, I need to sit with Bezos. Give me
ten minutes, I promise.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
Reach out to Jock bas.

Speaker 4 (15:04):
We discussed the problems that Amazon on his jot on
his plane. I don't care with hot But here's the thing,
I'm not even blaming him, Like, do they know how
bad this is? And I was just thinking about this
on the way here. Since they don't follow any rules,
all right, there's no accountability, right, they could kill someone.

(15:24):
What are you gonna do? So that the commercial on
the hose guys saying it doesn't really matter. But I
wonder if Amazon is getting stuck a lot too where
they make a bunch of stuff, because it's very counibalistic, right,
they you make the product, you put your energy into it,
you get it successful, they jump in, Well, they basically

(15:47):
are killing the host because eventually you can't market and
you can't sell it, and you go off the market.
Now the marketing is gone, so the sales drop. Tanna
doesn't really care because they just steal the next thing. Right,
But does Amazon get stuck with inventory? Does Amazon have
collection problems? They may have a problem too, which would

(16:09):
certainly help.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Right, And we promote our website to avoid some of
this for the folks out there listening and want to
protect their family with the original life fact, we also
are available, but it's more risky for someone to get
a Life Act, for a family to get their Life
Act when they go to out of habit or just
what they would normally do in a shopping experience, go
to Amazon.

Speaker 4 (16:31):
Well a lot of now with the marketing. They go
there because they see us on a commercial or on Facebook,
or they see a Life Saved with Life BacT and
then see another product and it's cheaper, but so they'll
switch it and buy that. Now, the problem is that's
not regulated. I mean we've bought millions of them. They
fall apart, they have glue. Lenny bought one. It's like

(16:51):
this contraption looks like a bazooka. It's ridiculous. But that's
the canibalization. Right. We cannot continue to pay our FDA
b FDA compliant, have liability insurance, do testing and monitor
our sales and our successes, and market when you go
to Amazon. Because if you go to Amazon, buy a
life back, life's good, right. We do that. We sell

(17:14):
quite a bit.

Speaker 3 (17:14):
What's what percentage? Do you think it's like.

Speaker 4 (17:16):
Fifty to fifty or more.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Wow, So a person going to Amazon trying to get
a life fact, it's a fifty chance that you're not
going to get what you want.

Speaker 4 (17:25):
No, it's our sales about fifty percent, our website fifty Amazon.
It's way better.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
Meaning.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
But the problem is not that it used to be
you couldn't tell. Right now you kind of tell. You
play a fake.

Speaker 9 (17:37):
Rolex on twenty third Street that falls apart. It's just
a watch, you know it was. It was a knockoff,
you pluy a fake one of the if someone dies,
someone jokes at death because it's a piece of junk.

Speaker 8 (17:47):
I mean, that's you gotta look at it that way.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
Well, and that's why my thought is the man in
the arena and we go to see these offices to
try and get help, is to use the law. Right,
we'll start with the law and then we could get
into bigger protections of making an American patent worth something again,
because the problem is it's kind of worthless.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
We've talked about this before. The patent that you I mean,
it was a proud moment. You described it as a
proud moment because we grow up. And then when you
found out, number one, that it was worthless. But also
the frustration that must have you must have experienced when
somebody else number one got a patent for.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
Your same products.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
There could have been a search done which took five
minutes and it just wasn't done. And also the length
of time, I mean, frustration upon frustration.

Speaker 4 (18:36):
How deep is the problem is what we're going to
persevere to find out. But I mean this show is
holding this accountable. Right we talked about and how we're
doing something. When we come back, we're going to tell
people what happened, you know, And I do believe that
the you know, miss Wonderful took way you know, a
jerk back and said this thing is on Amazon and
it's illegal, not in general terms of they still are

(18:59):
intellectual property. Then you go back and do your job
and get your paycheck. And all of us people, me,
Molly and everyone else that's affected by this. We're in
the battle. So we're gonna go take the battle. And
like I said, if I made you know, a sunglass holder,
all right, it is what it is. But one these
things will kill you. And two somebody's got to fight.

(19:21):
Someone's got to stand up and get their butt kicked
and go down there and bring this the light and
deal with this problem, you know, not just say, you know, well,
there's still an intellectual property to the two two billion
back to you, Fred, What the hell does that do?
Just makes us feel that pump you on the face.
See what happens?

Speaker 2 (19:40):
You know Molly and her story, when you hear it,
it's almost because it was a jump rope. It was
almost one of those things where you go, oh, you know, okay,
well they stole a jump rope. But when you hear
about the lives that were impacted, her time, effort, her life.

Speaker 9 (19:55):
Money, have a million dollars, yeah, and get it taken away,
and she had the courage to take it all the
way to the end, we say, you know, maybe if
I fought long and hard enough and at the end
they went, Now, we don't think so invalidated, invalidated.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
Not only are you not successful in your argument, we're
going to invalidate your patent, so penalized for trying to
have the government do the right thing.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
And we're going to.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
Meet, among others, the mission to Washington, which is coming
up in a couple of weeks, the US patent and
trade offs different from the board that she talked about.

Speaker 3 (20:28):
But do you hope?

Speaker 2 (20:29):
I mean, what's the optimism versus skepticism about getting something done?

Speaker 4 (20:34):
Two things. One is I would love to say, how
did this person get the exact patent? I love someone
to tell me how that happens. Two, I would like
to know that make them more aware. Do they know
that since Amazon came into fruition, then that's what's killed
the patent For one hundred and whatever twenty years it

(20:54):
worked right because if you made it, I could sue you.
You're here me, we go to court, we find it out.
China invalidated that. So maybe there's got to be different. Yeah, Look,
times change. We had made track. We don't have that anymore.
So maybe the past office, the kids, Billy Joe, glasshouses,

(21:20):
all the O way to Lake George seven hours. But it's
a communication and saying are you aware that why it's
no good anymore? Why we're all saying it's worthless, And
to see if there's a plan or a way to
work together to make it useful, right, because it's eventually
the long term effect. Who's going to make anything to

(21:42):
we fail yourself and then it gets stolen.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
Man, what I'm interested in hearing from you is because
you've met recently with doctor Ben Carson, and other things
that come up in the conversation about life Act aren't
intended to be political or divisive. No, but everything in
Washington seems to be. But I think the old overall atmosphere,
do you agree, is more favorable to having common sense.

Speaker 4 (22:05):
I think so, and I think that's why it's good
to do it. He testified before the committee yesterday. It
was amazing. That guy's amazing, doctor Ben Carson, and he
was the you know, these are not topics that people
want to hear, you know, but he he addressed the
culture of poverty, the fact that you know, we have

(22:25):
broken families, but they're kind of rewarded indirectly with our system.
And one of his big philosophies, which I agree, is
the power of the family. That you know, we were
losing dads, and he addressed it with such eloquence and
common sense that if you're incentified, like if you and

(22:46):
I are married, we get less money than if I'm single,
so and more kids. Yeah, and we've almost created a
system that is anti what we know.

Speaker 8 (22:56):
Not almost we have we have yes, three decades.

Speaker 4 (22:59):
Yeah, but I mean it was when he said it,
I was like, we took this long to figure that out.
And you know, he's brilliant, and I believe he is
courageous enough to go and try and change things. But look,
this is all working together, Like Bezos was sitting here
in the head of the patent office. I don't think
we'd be fighting. No, you know, and Amazon's not gonna

(23:20):
lose money.

Speaker 3 (23:21):
Let's fix it.

Speaker 4 (23:22):
Right, It's more teamwork. Dealing with the FDA is kind
of scary, right because it kind of tell you everything.
And I think we need to change our relationship with
government where we actually talk and work together. So it's
not like that's a government. Oh God, run hide, they're
gonna shut us down, they're gonna attack us, they're gonna
put us out of business. It should be more what's up,

(23:45):
let's fix it. We'll see.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
I want to talk more about the department's individually. Life
Act will be visiting. We've drawn the comparison, or at
least I did in the beginning about mister Smith goes
to Washington. Classic movie now Life Act. And it's interesting
because this one life saving product, over four thousand Live
Save worldwide, touches on so many different departments or is

(24:08):
affected by so many different departments and legislations.

Speaker 3 (24:11):
And what's the.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
Word that they always talk about removing some of the
bureaucracy or the regulation. Yeah, and just just before the show,
we talked to a woman who's what was she working
in federal government.

Speaker 4 (24:23):
She was talking to the audience.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
It's packed house, no, but amazing connection. And it's just
you know, I saw the light bulb go off in
her head. She's like, you know, she wasn't familiar, but
then said, you know, have you paid for customs? Do
you know anything about And I'm asking on the spot
unscripted customs. She said there was a simple thing and
then they will fight for a couple Oh.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
Yeah, yeah, so I know all about that. But once again,
there's a lot of I did this. I was a
man in the arena.

Speaker 3 (24:54):
Still are.

Speaker 4 (24:55):
Yeah, But the difference is, you know, there's a lot
of tricks to get around customs. You got to get
on the li you have to have the manufacturer so
that you can you know what pull they have like
fifteen it's in Chinese. And they also can miscoded, meaning
they say they're bringing in a code hangar and they're
bringing in a medical device. It can be done, and

(25:16):
that's part of what we're going to do with ICE
because once again formulating this from the ground up, these
are illegal, right, so I should be able to call
the police and they should go to Amazon and pull
all this crap out. They should go with a trailer
and dump it. It's against the law. I'm calling a cop,
so it's not even we're asking for enforcement, not a rule,

(25:39):
a law, not a thing. This is illegal. Enforce the law.
Same with and we'll meet with Customs. But it's tricky
because they're tricky and they make it from different places
and they put different harmonized codes. So it's a lot
to get to that point. But we're going to do
it and we can. If we can get on the list,

(26:00):
like the list basically where you get inspected, it could help.
It could help. But there's hundreds of them, so it's
that's a tough one.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
Yeah, everyone talks about whack them all.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
Well, whack them all was Amazon? You whack them there
and then and once again, look I'm an America compete.
That's great. Go through the FDA, make sure it's safe
and effective, make sure it's different than what we created.
God bless you. I mean, the more we get out,
the more lives we say. And quite frankly, I wouldn't
be so upset if they wouldn't kill you, and they

(26:31):
made them good, right. Mike grow said that's kind of common,
and I said it would be if they made it
good enough, they wouldn't kill someone. There's one that will kill.

Speaker 3 (26:39):
You, no bueno.

Speaker 9 (26:42):
You listen to Arthurly, that's when you think, you know,
it's a life and death thing. You hope they listen
to you. In Washington, Well that's try.

Speaker 4 (26:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (26:50):
I mean, if there was a fire hose that they
were like, oh, we got a cheaper one and it's
not putting out fires and houses are burning and people
are dying, they would change, right.

Speaker 8 (26:57):
But you know, you hear about this in the military too.
With us sometimes they don't use the best things to
try to save money. It's crazy to me.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
Yeah, well they get knocked off too, right, I mean
we get inferior products that are in there, and which
is like.

Speaker 8 (27:09):
And then people die.

Speaker 4 (27:10):
I mean, I guess and in a way of I
don't know why I was tasked with this impossible thing
to say, four thousand lives and maybe I'm tasked to
go fight this battle. But to bring it back to
the man in the arena, we're going to report what happened.
And she was very Molly was very clear on what happened.
I've never heard that before in my life.

Speaker 8 (27:32):
The PITAB, the Patent Trial Arbitration.

Speaker 4 (27:34):
Board, I have heard they still are intellectual property back
to you, Bill. What the hell good does that do?
So let's go, let's go and get Yeah, we're going
to swing them back and tell people.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
Yeah, life that goes to Washington will be back after
this message.

Here again are Arthur Lee and Rick Thatcher.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
And also Pat O'Rourke.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
Talking to Arthur Lee and he's telling me about Pat
O'Rourke doing a show in the city, and I want
to learn so much more about it.

Speaker 9 (30:10):
Pat, what are you doing your friend this club down
on twenty third Street. Yeah, no, no, Actually a soccer player.

Speaker 2 (30:18):
Matt Mozilla, great goalkeeper. I think it's his brother that
owns the comedy shop.

Speaker 9 (30:22):
But it's the comedy shop. It's yeah, the name will
come to me, but it's I'm doing.

Speaker 4 (30:27):
It all right. You gotta tell us more. I want
to go more about that.

Speaker 8 (30:29):
You know Washington.

Speaker 3 (30:31):
Yes, we're gonna be watched. Sorry, go to Washington, and
you know who's gonna be with us. You know who's
gonna be with us, The Life Act cotingent in Washington.
We're gonna be joined by C. J. Douglas. Yes, my man,
Colonel Christopher Douglas.

Speaker 6 (30:44):
Hey, great to see you all.

Speaker 4 (30:45):
Well, I see you too, man, Thank you. We're talking
now about our meeting of the v A.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
Sure we've mentioned it before in the beginning, but just
as a reminder folks just tuning in or or I
want to be refreshed. We're going to Washington. Life Act
is going to washing and taking it to the streets.
We're meeting potentially with ICE, We're meeting with Patent Office,
and of course the v A. And Colonel Douglas was
brought on to be a special envoy, absolutely as.

Speaker 4 (31:14):
He brought on a hero to take on a mission.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
So he was introduced to us lengthy introduction, but hey,
this guy's a hero what he's done for this country,
and uh, we're just blessed an honor to have you
on our side.

Speaker 8 (31:27):
And skilled with a T shirt cannon.

Speaker 4 (31:32):
Yeah, we could use you.

Speaker 8 (31:33):
At the soccer game Rick almost killed someone again.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
GAMEJ just put a leedged in front of that. I
was completely safe and within the guidelines. But when we
had CJ involved in the T shirt launching at Brian
Kilmead's live event in Jacksonville, Florida, I never felt because
there's a lot going on, a lot of moving parts,
but I never felt so at ease and safe about

(31:57):
what we were doing.

Speaker 8 (31:58):
Neither he was adjusting it.

Speaker 4 (31:59):
Yeah, yeah, they had the guy and look he's good
at saving veterans and shooting the T shirt cabin man.
We got the right guy.

Speaker 8 (32:06):
We shut our eyes ready, fire aim boom.

Speaker 4 (32:08):
Well, CJ, you guys went down to Florida, right and
you made what was that good? Filled people in on
that a little bit.

Speaker 6 (32:16):
And so that was a meeting with the VA down
in Florida with retired Marine Major General Hartzel and his
chief of staff to talk with him about you know,
the why you know, I got involved and as far
as assisting veterans based off of the conversations with you, Arthur,

(32:36):
and the importance and really the overlooked veteran community. And
I mean here was a static He had his own
personal story to share, which I know we're going to
cover it at a later date, but you know, he
got it and was receptive, and so it was a
great discussion. Rip did a fantastic job of where, you know,

(32:57):
giving a demo and answering questions. But but yeah, I
mean it was it was a great needing.

Speaker 4 (33:03):
Just a preface for people that are listening that a
person in a wheelchair may have no chance in a
choking emergency because there is no protocol. There's no Red
Cross in no American heart. Red Cross recently said suction
is authorized for use when the Heimlich is not feasible,
so war doesn't work, which, yeah, you know, but I think,

(33:23):
I think you know, and it goes back. I was
on Laughter Saves Lives last week and I remember wheeling
the World War two guys down to the laft Of show,
and that's when it hit me. And I combined that
my head with the tragedy and McDonald's with a guy
in a wheelchair choked that no one did anything because
they didn't know what to do, or the kid in
the school bus. Yeah, and the dream I felt there
was God went no CJ. With someone who's led these men,

(33:46):
he's been with them, he's lost man, he's seen them injured.
That this is a way to bring it to light,
you know. And you know, we talk about it being
an eighty A violation, which it is, but that's not
really the driving factor. Right. Yes, the federal gunment showed
a buy by the eighty A, but if you boil
it down, man in the arena, the World War two

(34:09):
guy that I rolled down and told me the story
and CJ's stories about the man he served with. They
deserve a chance in the choking emergency. And once again,
this is not, you know, a huge thing, obey eighty
eight federal law. But who kids give an option? What's
the big deal? So hopefully we're going down to who

(34:30):
we meet with in Washington.

Speaker 6 (34:33):
I think we're holding that for the next episode. But
what I will say is.

Speaker 2 (34:39):
We're not just going let's just say this, we're not
going to Washington to meet with.

Speaker 3 (34:43):
Local rever.

Speaker 4 (34:46):
Something BIG's coming out.

Speaker 2 (34:48):
Well, we decided a while ago and and you know
your direction was, you know, last year it was over
the top. So Heidi has done you know, marvelous work
in Orlando, Albany, and she's doing a continued work with
the San Francisco.

Speaker 3 (35:05):
I think it's a simulation.

Speaker 2 (35:06):
Lab, but we thought, why not utilize some relationships and
connections to go and get the endorsements of leadership in
all of these departments and make connections. And most people
when they like Major General Hartzel, the light bulb goes off.
He told us an emotional story that had both CJ
and I almost in tears, totally unexpected, not of men

(35:30):
that he served with, but of his son who suffered
from a disability, had this near tragic choking event and
told us read it from the book and has a foundation,
and he said that's his besides the wonderful work he
does in Florida, VA. Talked in very emotional terms about
his mission is this Son's foundation, Evan Hartzel Foundation and

(35:53):
CJ alluded to it more to come because although he's
very busy, he has major General Hartzel had ever intention
of at some point sharing the story because it's incredible,
and he says, you know, I think CJ said it
before I get it. So when we go to Washington
together and yeah, we're not going down to h I
think I said earlier, take, you know, be involved in

(36:15):
a protest or something. We're meeting with the leadership so
that we can when we go to all of these
I mean, this is a very small, passionate team that
is taking on this monumental desk of the world everywhere
where food is consumed.

Speaker 7 (36:29):
So h.

Speaker 4 (36:32):
But CJ is a godwin too. We had to find
we need a champion, right and who could be a
better champion one the federal government obeying federal law. But
that aside, these people gave their bodies for our country. Right,
so regardless of federal law, they deserve a chance and

(36:53):
they should not have nothing.

Speaker 6 (36:55):
It's not right if you go back just in history,
when you you have President Lincoln say to care for
the for him who shall have borne the battle, and
for his widow and his orphan. You know more, you
know up to date now inclusive, you know of all
of our veterans to fulfill President Lincoln's promise to care

(37:15):
for those who have served in our nation's military and
for their families, caregivers and survivors. I mean, that's you know,
the current vision of the VA. So when we talk
about this, you know, everything that you've said to this
point goes right in line with that vision. So that's
why it makes complete sense to bring this to the VA.

(37:37):
To the why it's important to the bring it to
the VA, but also Arthur, for your other hey, let's
you know transition briefly, because it goes with what I'm
saying as far as care for the veterans. You know,
the quality control right, the patent process is there for
a reason. It isn't just a protecting intellectual property. It's
also you know, we're ensuring some level of quality control.

(37:59):
So really this comes down to education, legislation, and enforcement,
and education is work so people understand why life back
is the tool of choice when it comes to snaving lives.

Speaker 4 (38:11):
You know, I was thinking though too along the god
went you know, you're a military hero. These are military
heroes that did this. But here's the thing where it's
once again in my mind or my heart, they were
once again saving our country. Because if the military did
it right and said, look, these men and women deserve this,
it's against an ADA violation. Everyone should take care of

(38:34):
people with a disability if they once again led us
into battle right, Because if the ADA did it, I mean,
if the military did it right, we cure that Lincoln
quote that we are we are obligated as humans to
make sure they're okay. And they gave for us. They
could also lead the way so that every school would

(38:55):
they now have an option for their children with disabilities.
And it's just it's so aligned that once again our
heroes are leading us into battle to do the right
thing and to win. And this is not a twenty
year thing. It's a it's pretty simple. It's a letter Ken,
get this, Yeah, and.

Speaker 2 (39:15):
We should be We're going to be right back with
more of the man in the arena. We're talking to
Arthur Lee, Pad O'Rourke and of course CJ.

I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (42:26):
So we'll do it live. I'll bring my folder for
each one of these divisions and we'll ask her advice.
It'd be kind of coolat let's let's be transparent. That's
a big thing nowadays.

Speaker 2 (42:37):
Absolutely, let's do transparency. It's a big thing today. We're
drawing inspiration from a classic tale of idealism and grit.
Mister Smith goes to Washington. Great old movie, you remember it,
a lone passionate man stepping into the political heart of
America to stand up for what he believes is right.
It's a timeless story about fighting for change in a
system built on bureaucracy. Fast forward to today, and life

(43:00):
Fact is writing its own chapter in that story. Mister
Lee and life Fact goes to Washington. In just a
couple of weeks, lifeac is heading to Washington, d C.
Not for a White House tour or a protest, but
with purpose and innovation in hand, for meetings with the
US Patent and Trademark Office, ICE, Immigration, Customs Enforcement, and

(43:22):
the VA Veterans' Administration to discuss how lifeac can make
a national and let's say, worldwide impact, real solutions and
real policy on the table. Life Fact has now saved Countum.
You guys know this, over four thousand lives just that
we're reported. So go to lifefac dot net, use code
MIITA to get a discount and protect those you love.

(43:45):
We explore what's at stake, what this trip means for
public safety and innovation, and why Life Act's journey to
Washington might just be the start of something historic, and
dare we say, Arthur Lee epic epic.

Speaker 4 (43:58):
I think it's a prime example of the man in
the arena. We watched the news and we watched mister Wonderful,
and I'm grateful that he brings attention to it. It
doesn't follow up, and it's not like he says that
next week I'm going to go do something about it.
He just tells you how we're all getting screwed, and
you know, goes on his way. Once again, I appreciate
the fact he brings it to light, but in our show,

(44:20):
it's about the real people and the real consequences. We
had the jump rope lady on Molly. I mean, she
was cool to help, but the point was I was
doing a little math in my head. Between our knockoffs
and hers, it's probably one hundred and twenty us jobs
that were lost. And once again, it's not that we
can't make it, it's not that it costs more. It's just that,

(44:43):
you know, it just gets stolen and we get put
out of work. But we're the guys in the arena.
That's a hundred jobs between us and Molly, and we
should have her back on. She knows a lot more
about the depth of the problem.

Speaker 2 (44:57):
Creator of her own jump rope, great story of coming
up a this product and doing very well, and she
had employed you know, many folks in the country, people,
and it was all taken away by a portion of
our government that's not doing the right thing.

Speaker 4 (45:11):
That's why we're in the arena, and we're going to Washington.
We're going to go meet the Patent Office, and we're
going to meet Ice to talk about now and the
Veterans Administration is huge, which we'll talk about with CJ.
But the real key to why I believe one we
have to do it. You know, it's not for us.

(45:31):
They're selling dangerous medical device. So I think if we
were to eat the elephant, what if we got illegal products,
take it down right. Let's start there, and then we
could work into you know, patent infringement and you know,
copyright and all these other horrible things. But I think
that the simplest way to make it black and white

(45:54):
is Amazon has to stop selling illegal Chinese products there again,
let's start there so we don't have to fight about
pat and I don't have to fight about copyright. I
don't have to fight about trademark. They have the ability
to say that's your problem, but it's a bigger problem.
And I don't think the awareness is about how Amazon
created this huge problem.

Speaker 3 (46:16):
You know, too bad.

Speaker 2 (46:17):
It's not Elon Musk behind Amazon, and it's Bezos, because
someone like Elon I think would do the right thing.

Speaker 4 (46:24):
I think so too, But I'm not going to you
know what, I need to sit with Bezos. Give me
ten minutes. I promise. We reach out to Jeff Bezos.
We discussed the problems with Amazon on his jot on
his plane. I don't care with YOT. But here's the thing.
I'm not even blaming him, Like do they know how

(46:45):
bad this is? And I was just thinking about this
on the way here. Since they don't follow any rules,
all right, there's no accountability, right, they could kill someone?
What are you gonna do? So that the commercial on
the hose guy saying it doesn't matter. But I wonder
if Amazon is getting stuck a lot too where they

(47:05):
make a bunch of stuff, because it's very cannibalistic. Right,
you make the product, you put your energy into it,
you get it successful. They jump in, Well, they basically
are killing the host because eventually you can't market and
you can't sell it, and you go off the market.
Now the marketing's gone, so the sales drop. Tanna doesn't

(47:28):
really care because they just steal the next thing. Right,
But does Amazon get stuck with inventory? Does Amazon have
collection problems? They may have a problem too, which would
certainly help, right.

Speaker 2 (47:40):
And we promote our website to avoid some of this.
For the folks out there listening and want to protect
their family with the original Life Fact. Colonel Christopher Douglas,
he's joining us in our mission. Life Fact goes to Washington. Now,
I wanted to hear from you. Of course we're targeting
the Veterans Administration, but I wanted to hear about the

(48:00):
I was interested because Ice I saw on the things
to do list when we go to Washington, just thinking
about the application, because you know, it's it's unheard of
that ICE would want to be prepared to and be
concerned about the safety of people that they were dealing with.

Speaker 9 (48:16):
Right now, they don't want bat pr Yeah, it's obvious Yeah,
it's just something happens to one of them. They want
to make sure you can.

Speaker 2 (48:21):
Do everybody to say, we got to remove some of
these thought processes that make everything black, you know, black
and white, or one side versus the other. I don't
think a choking victim has what they certainly have religions.

Speaker 4 (48:32):
They say CJ had some experience in in international inbound
CJ is that Rick told me briefly that you had
some experience with import or or monitoring.

Speaker 6 (48:45):
That you know, But with that, you know, you're as
I was saying before, as far as you know, education,
legislation and enforcement, the enforcement pieces that is really really
what you're looking at here is because I mean there's
already well there needs to be better legislation to ensure
the quality control so that in this case, like life back,
which is the tool of choice, remains that. But then
the enforcement where ICE and others would be ensuring that

(49:08):
you know, these non life back versions that are not
a preferred option don't get into the hands and then
you know, don't fail at a time of crisis.

Speaker 4 (49:18):
Well, there's more than one way to protect our country.

Speaker 2 (49:20):
On the man in the arena, we're flexible and for
those listening, whether you're in La, Houston, Orlando, or New York,
just to let you know we are adapting, we're overcoming,
and we do it with the inspiration of the over
four thousand lives that have been saved with Life Back.
I'm going to take this opportunity to say, go to
lifefac dot net. We talked a lot about, listen, go
to lifefac dot net and use the code m I
T A. I know CJ has a code that he

(49:42):
wants to promote, but for this purpose, m I T A.
Get a discount, protect those you love, and get the
original because we talk a lot about avoiding the knockoffs.

Speaker 3 (49:51):
But CJ, I cut you off.

Speaker 6 (49:53):
No, I'm glad you made that. You made that point.
What I was just going to say was, you know,
I think a good segue for chapter seventeen, right standing eight.

Speaker 2 (50:02):
I'm glad you brought it up, and I refer back
to that website lifeact dot net. Get this book, Sorry,
Can't is Alive written by just the greatest guy ever,
mister Arthur Lee. So chapter seventeen, you know appropriate in
the discussion of the patents, in the discussion of you
know four thousand, you know the discussion of going down

(50:25):
to the VA I mean, and so it's hey, when
you get you know, to quote Arthur, when you get
hit or knocked down, you get up, continue to fight.

Speaker 6 (50:33):
Take a pause at eight you're still in. It couldn't
be more appropriate.

Speaker 4 (50:37):
Well, you know, I think your service to our country
and it always reinvigorates my passion to do this with
the veterans. And I think that the people in the
military truly understand the standing a count. You get knocked down,
you get up, you breathe, you re formulate, you go again.
And also the wingmen then you know, these are not

(51:00):
you know, and the villa has a problem. Back to you, Phil,
these guys just serve with You've seen what they have
to go through. You've seen the explosions, and god man,
how could we not take care of them? Right ce j.
I mean you you just feel it when we discussed this,
when we say we have to persevere.

Speaker 6 (51:18):
I'm just going to give a side shout out nineteen
ninety seven UK Sensation reference that was made about getting
knocked down.

Speaker 9 (51:28):
Uh oh, I get knocked down, but I had to
get up again. You're never going to keep.

Speaker 3 (51:34):
He identified your song.

Speaker 8 (51:36):
Yeah, song right there, you want to keep me there?

Speaker 6 (51:40):
Way to go?

Speaker 8 (51:41):
Pat you got Rick didn't know what I was talking about.

Speaker 3 (51:44):
No, I knew. I know the band Shubble One, but
I know the song.

Speaker 8 (51:46):
Wait, they have another song. I didn't know that one, Drinking.
We got their album Drinking the Night Away, the same song.

Speaker 3 (51:53):
Yeah, I know I got knocked out.

Speaker 2 (51:55):
It was Pete Corwin's we're pulling references out now getting
Away from Trouble One. But to one of our friends,
I think it was his wedding song.

Speaker 3 (52:02):
Definitely. The first time I heard it was that's a
good web reception.

Speaker 8 (52:06):
Yeah, where the police called this wedding wasn't on an
episode of cops.

Speaker 3 (52:09):
Holy cow.

Speaker 2 (52:10):
You know we already we already talked with Ray about
the statistics around Life Act and saving lives. But we
should put somebody on or have someone on staff that
looks up other facts about Chubble Wamba, because I don't
think they I don't think that they played.

Speaker 9 (52:25):
I think they're a one fact band, not even want trouble.

Speaker 8 (52:31):
Rick thinks they're fascinating.

Speaker 3 (52:35):
Tub Thumping, right, tub Thumping is the name of the song.
It's not I get knocked out.

Speaker 6 (52:39):
It's tub thumping. It's troumble wamba.

Speaker 4 (52:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (52:42):
And in nineteen ninety seven, is that correct?

Speaker 6 (52:45):
Ninety seven, Yeah, the UK sensation.

Speaker 8 (52:48):
The title went to five with the Bullock.

Speaker 3 (52:50):
No one would ever say is not well rounded?

Speaker 8 (52:53):
All day my kid?

Speaker 4 (52:54):
Yeah, we we should just have him tell stories. Yes,
we'll just see.

Speaker 3 (52:58):
Remember when CJ was classified and.

Speaker 8 (53:00):
Was first two years we know him, he couldn't talk.
He was in the service.

Speaker 9 (53:04):
Still he was tell he just looking at you like
I want to talk.

Speaker 8 (53:08):
I want to tell you Stor.

Speaker 2 (53:09):
Hey, listen, we have about a minute left in this
episode of Man in the Arena and we're talking, of
course about Life Fact's mission to go down to Washington.
But I want to get an update. How's Britt doing.
Your son is serving We can't say exactly where, but
how's he doing.

Speaker 6 (53:25):
He is doing well here from periodically and all is well.

Speaker 2 (53:29):
Then you're all star. Then you're all star. Wife Susan Douglas.

Speaker 6 (53:33):
As well, she is. She remains the all star.

Speaker 2 (53:35):

Speaker 3 (53:39):
