You know, it's almost like you got to hit rock
bottom in order to turn your life around. And I
mean he he got to that point where he was,
you know, dealing with drugs. He was in prison, he
had really.

A rough He said, you know, when I was growing up,
that was just the way of life, right, there wasn't
he said, like, you know, as a teenager, it was
like you either sold drugs or you did drugs.

So he in that case, he felt like he was
on the better side of things.

You know what else is interesting about him?

They asked him the other day, They said, would you
get rid of any of the tattoos you've got, and
especially the ones on his face? And he said, you
know what, I like the ones on my face. He goes,
I've got some really bad art on my arms. He
said he would get rid of okay. But it's interesting.
I mean, you know, he the part of who he is, Yeah,
it is who he is, and and I think that's

part of it because he's he comes across as as
a very genuine, very real person, you know what I mean.

I was really confused as to how he did such

that he his daughter was born when he was in prison,

I want to be someone she can be proud of.

And I thought that was really fascinating.

But the host of the podcast said that he they've
known each other for a long time and they said,
Jelly Roll is just the kind of guy that makes
your life better when you know them, and I was like,
that is such a nice compliment, And then I was wondering,
for everybody listening, who's the person that you know in
your life that just makes your life better just by

knowing them?

Like, that's a really nice compliment.

It is, and it's powerful, and hopefully we've all got someone.
So for you, who would it be?

Oh god, I feel like there's so many people that
I meet that make my life better. Oh God, let's say.

I think.

I'm gonna say my mom.

I was gonna say the same thing to minute.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
Really I was thinking, because you asked me before we
came on the air, Yeah, I thought my mom, you know,
to get to this point.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
And then on some level, my wife.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
Yeah, I mean I should say not on some level,
but it's at a different level than your mother, because
you're you know, you go back to your mom, and
I think you think back when you were little and
lessons that you learned, and then things will happen as
an adult and you're like, you know what, always done
it that way because of the way I.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
Was raised, right, right, Yeah, So you think your parents,
But then on some level, I mean.
Speaker 5 (21:33):
I was my dad. I could say him too.
Speaker 2 (21:35):
What about Jeff Kbuji though he's our boss. No, I
don't mean that sarcastically. I mean nor your boss on
some level, if you have a good relationship with the
people that you work with, you know, like that's important.
Speaker 4 (21:47):
We just talked to a caller a minute ago who
said that she loves the people she works with. So
that's awesome the people you work with me because look
how much time we spend together, right, you know what
I mean? And your your job almost becomes your life.
Speaker 5 (22:01):
And lots of people spend more time at work than
they do, right.
Speaker 3 (22:03):

Now we ask a question because you tell me Jelly
Roll yeah inspired you.
Speaker 4 (22:31):
Because the people who were interviewing him on the podcast
said that just because they know him, their life, their
lives are better.
Speaker 5 (22:39):
And what a nice compliment.
Speaker 4 (22:41):
And I can see how he brings that energy into
a room, like he elevates the energy.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
You know, it's almost like you got to hit rock
bottom in order to turn your life around. And I
mean he he got to that point where he was,
you know, dealing with drugs. He was in prison, he
had really.
Speaker 4 (22:58):
A rough He said, you know, when I was growing up,
that was just the way of life, right, there wasn't
he said, like, you know, as a teenager, it was
like you either sold drugs or you did drugs.
Speaker 14 (23:10):
Right.
Speaker 5 (23:11):
So he in that case, he felt like he was
on the better side of things.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
You know what else is interesting about him?
Speaker 2 (23:17):
They asked him the other day, They said, would you
get rid of any of the tattoos you've got, and
especially the ones on his face? And he said, you
know what, I like the ones on my face. He goes,
I've got some really bad art on my arms. He
said he would get rid of okay. But it's interesting.
I mean, you know, he the part of who he is, Yeah,
it is who he is, and and I think that's
(23:38):
part of it because he's he comes across as as
a very genuine, very real person, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
There's there's nothing fake about him.
Speaker 10 (23:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (23:46):
I was really confused as to how he did such
a such a turnaround. Yeah, but he told he says
that he his daughter was born when he was in prison,
And he said, when he found out that his daughter
was born, right, I said that changed everything about him,
and he was like, I don't want to be this
(24:07):
person anymore.
Speaker 5 (24:07):
I want to be someone she can be proud of.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
And yeah, and that's interesting.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
But he said it took a long time to become
that person. And I thought that was interesting too.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
It sounds like he grew up on text.
Speaker 5 (24:17):
Somebody said God is the is the presence in their
life that makes them.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
Well, that's hopefully true for all.
Speaker 5 (24:23):

Mike, look at you. You're the person that makes his
life better. He is kidding.

And then somebody else said, my boyfriend, Matt, this is sweet.

I never met someone that was so selfless and came
into my life at such a dark time and he
took on the role of stepdad and he's shining.
Speaker 5 (24:43):
He never complains and he's always helping me.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
Oh that's sweet, he says.

I love this man.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
You know, you bring up a good point.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
It's an opportunity for all of us to think about
who is that person who makes your life better?
