Hey guys, it's Bethany from the Michael J. Morning Show.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
You're listening to Michael J and Bethany after hours.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Ninety three point one wp C. Now, Trudy, thank Michael J.
Speaker 4 (00:26):
And Bethany. Some things you need to know about this morning.
Speaker 5 (00:28):
Bethany, our governor has signed some new laws.
Speaker 4 (00:32):
He was busy.
Speaker 5 (00:32):
Yeah, he's been signing everything. I'm getting my check book
over here.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Who signs more things? Wes Moore? President?
Speaker 4 (00:40):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (00:40):
But here are the new laws in Maryland, and these
cover quite a few areas. First off, jail time for
reckless driving.
Speaker 4 (00:48):
You down with that? Sure?
Speaker 5 (00:51):
They say they now have the Sergeant Patrick Kept Act,
named after a Montgomery County police officer who lost both
legs after it was intentionally struck by a driver speeding
over one hundred miles an hour while on duty.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
See that's terrible, That's not it anyway.
Speaker 5 (01:08):
So the new law says that reckless driving is an
offense punishable by up to sixty days of jail time
and a maximum fine of one thousand dollars. The Public
Health Abortion Grant Program was signed into Lawkay. So now
with this, it'll allow the Department of Health to issue
(01:28):
funds to abortion care providers to aid people who are
under insured, uninsured, or unable to use their insurance due
to risks posed by communication from insurance carriers. Okay, another
law you're gonna like this one. Okay, the Maryland orange
(01:49):
crush law. The orange crush has been designated as this
state cocktail, and the law is it's got to be
made correctly. A summertime staple composed of fresh squeeze, orange juice, vodka,
triple sack, and a splash of sprite or club soda.
And that makes me want to go to the hard
(02:10):
Yacht Cafe.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Ninety three point one WPOC traffic. All right, So think you.
Speaker 5 (02:18):
Craziest story about Corey Kent. He was at that Willie
Nelson concert and Willy was like, kid, be quiet, and
he was like, but I'm here, I'm here. He was
holding a sign up. He's a big fan of Willie Nelson. Yeah,
because he grew up on that Western swing that Willy
used to do. And at first Willy's like here, and
so he took off a scarf and threw him a
(02:39):
scarf and he was like, He held the sign up again,
and he's like, what do you want basically Willy and
he's like, I want to come up on stage with you.
I want to see if I can sing along. Oh wow,
And so he brought him up on stage. Corey Kent's like,
oh my gosh, this is amazing and he got such
a thrill out of it.
Speaker 4 (02:56):
Now he's a country artist.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
How about that.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
It's amazing beginning for him.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
To keep us in the loop of entertainment and pop
culture and the things we shouldn't care about, but somehow
we really Do's Bethanybree.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
I know, that's huge news. That means he can go
into the Hall of Fame.
Speaker 6 (03:21):
That's right, that makes him posthumously eligible for the Hall
of Fame. Cassie Ventura testified in the Sean Diddy Combs
federal sex trafficking trial yesterday, alleging years of abuse during
their eleven year relationship. This trial is expected to last
for eight to ten weeks.
Speaker 5 (03:38):
Back in a truckload of baby oil up right now,
it's unbelievably so sad, it's so disgusting.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Upcoming legal drama All Fair. All's Fair.
Speaker 6 (03:51):

but then I saw the trailer yesterday and it looks
really good, really, and there are a lot of big
names in their Glenn Close, niss Nash, Jessica Simpson, Jabath
Light is there, Sarah Paulson.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
I mean, these are big names, all right.
Speaker 6 (04:07):
Then she also testified in her Paris trial yesterday for
the twenty sixteen armed robbery thing.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
She showed up.
Speaker 6 (04:17):
An even bigger ring than they stole as a power move,
which I enjoyed. Oh Lyle and Eric Menendez re sentenced
to fifty years to life, making them eligible for parole
after a thirty year Since Yeah.
Speaker 5 (04:31):
I.
Speaker 6 (04:33):
ESPN's new streaming service is supposed to be about thirty dollars.

to hear what other people have going on in their jobs. Yeah,
we have a very sweet woman on the phone who
called up initially because she said she's stuck in ninety
five traffic. Bethany, do you have anything you can add
real quick to ninety five the tunnel and all that.
Speaker 6 (05:30):
It looks like there are three accidents along ninety five southbounds,
so I'm guessing the three of them stack together.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
Why she's sitting there.
Speaker 5 (05:38):
I'm sorry about that, but so just that, we just
want a real quick glimpse into your job because your
biggest gripe is having to deal with other business owners.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
Huh.
Speaker 7 (05:47):
It's a fun job. I love I love my job.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
Don't get me wrong. It's people that get on my nerve.
Speaker 5 (05:52):
Right, and they're business people that it sounds like you're
dealing with a lot of business to business.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
Is that what's going on?
Speaker 5 (05:59):
That's yes, and business owners are like, oh, I'll get
to it. I'll send you a hundred bucks and they
still owe you one hundred thousand and they want to
make like a little payment. Is that what it is?
You know, with accounts payable and counts receivable. She's got
to deal with this all day.
Speaker 7 (06:13):
You got it.
Speaker 4 (06:14):
I don't have any money this month. I'll have to
pay you next month.
Speaker 7 (06:18):
Like if they do a service call, because we do
service calls and go to their property and fix their equipment.
They want to know exactly why you were there. Now
this just started. I've been dealing with them forever, and
now they want to know exactly why they had a
labor's got to deal with.
Speaker 5 (06:35):
Yeah, a business to business is nasty behind the scenes,
isn't it.
Speaker 7 (06:39):
Absolutely you'd be surprised.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
You would be surprised.
Speaker 7 (06:44):
Yeah, they'll say, oh, I talked to the boss and
he said I could pay next week. I'm like, no,
he didn't because he doesn't discuss payment and he didn't
say it.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
She knows how to handle him. You know how to
handle him absolutely.
Speaker 5 (06:59):

Incredible flooding in western in Maryland. So Pennsylvania, Western Pennsylvania,
Maryland and Virginia saw flooding that they've never seen before
and they're having to quickly.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
The town got covered in water. Looks like I'm trying
to decide where the worst of it is.
Speaker 5 (10:19):
Well, here's what's really scary about this. They've been evacuating
elementary school kids.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Yes, yeah, yesterday they had to. It's the Castleman.
Speaker 5 (10:29):
River in Western Port, Maryland from flash flooding, and the
Western Port Elementary School had an emergency situation, so they
had all these kids. About one hundred and fifty students
and fifty adults were evacuated during fifteen boat trips.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
Yeah, they had to put them in little boats.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
Oh my gosh, but you said one child's missing.
Speaker 6 (10:52):
Yeah, a little boy in Virginia has been swept away
in the floodwater and everyone, apparently the the first responders
were looking for him yesterday deep into the night, and
then they postponed the.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Search because they couldn't see.
Speaker 6 (11:06):
And then they were trying to tell everybody else like,
don't go out on your own and try.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
To find this boy, because then it puts you in danger.
Speaker 6 (11:14):
So anyway, I'm assuming at this point that the search has,
you know, picked up again.
Speaker 5 (11:18):
Oh that's heartbreaking. That really is another crazy story. I'm
just getting look at this scientists found a fifty thousand
year old baby mammoth, which was like the grandfather to
the elephant. Okay, they find this baby mammoth from fifty
(11:41):
thousand years ago that's insane in Siberia, and I imagine
it was in the ice and was preserved because they.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
Pulled the sheet off of it.
Speaker 6 (11:49):
It's it's I mean, it's cryogenically well, it's dead, but
it's frozen.
Speaker 5 (11:54):
I mean it's like it's it. I feel like I'm
looking at a baby elephant here.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
Wow. I mean it's a so is it a wooly mammoth?
Speaker 5 (12:01):
I don't know if it's the woolly, but it's a
mammoth and they found it's most of its body. Look
at that God from fifteenth I guess it's ready to
apply for Social Security ninety three point one WPOC Michael
(12:24):
J and Bethany And it's time to find out what's
going on with your favorite country stars.
Speaker 4 (12:29):

Oh, by the way, I told you Meriwether is the
place to be this summer. So many big country stars coming,
including Old Dominion on July eighteenth, and I gotta see
if anybody wants to pair of tickets. We just broke

Speaker 5 (13:05):

Speaker 10 (13:43):
Perks and the Dollar Smile matarame on.
Speaker 8 (13:55):
You can sing with Booty.
Speaker 4 (13:56):
Oh my, I love their music.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
I'm really exciting.
Speaker 5 (14:01):
So Darius does it via Hoodie and then Scottie and
everybody with a y at the end of their name
gets in there, all right. And then Friday is a
really big day around here as well, because you probably
have heard some guy named Morgan what's his last name?
He's got a new album coming out, all right, and
(14:23):
we're going to have an album takeover, so every hour
it wouldn't be like we wouldn't have Morgan walling on anyway.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
He's on every hour anyway.
Speaker 5 (14:32):
Yeah, but on Friday, you're gonna be getting a different
cut from his new album. It's fun every hour for
twenty four hours, and he's putting out so many songs
on this album.
Speaker 4 (14:44):
We could actually have gone for forty eight.

Hours all weekend exactly. POC traffic Skin you can go.
Speaker 5 (15:01):
Ninety three point one wedpoc oh, Beth, Is it time?
Speaker 4 (15:05):
What time is it?
Speaker 1 (15:07):
I think we got to do the Quest for Kenny?
Speaker 4 (15:09):
Are we ready? Okay, let's make sure we're ready. And
you now like to get things started?
Speaker 1 (15:17):
You need I think you need a different sound effect.
Speaker 4 (15:19):
No, I just know, I know.
Speaker 5 (15:20):
I just like that one to open up everything from
now on, From now on, every time we're starting anything,
all right, here's what we want to do.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
The Quest for Kenny's ninety three point one PC.
Speaker 5 (15:36):
If you've just joined us and you haven't played the
game before, let me clue you in. We've got a
trip including airfare, hotel, accommodations, and tickets to Kenny Chesney
at the Sphere. And I want to say it like
that because it's that dramatic. The Sphere is four D.
(15:57):
It's an entertainment experience that they say is like no other.
Speaker 6 (16:01):
It's really neat. It's like an immersive concert. All right,
no country star has been there yet. This is big.
Speaker 5 (16:10):
Kenny Chesney is going where no man has gone before
in country music, that's right.
Speaker 4 (16:15):
And he's giving us musical clues.
Speaker 5 (16:18):
And you got to listen to the clue and then
from the clue, tell us where we virtually hid the prize.
Speaker 4 (16:24):
Are we ready? Yep? Are we sure? Here is the
new clue.
Speaker 9 (16:36):
Bunny Shine.
Speaker 5 (16:42):
All right now I'm going to try that again. All right,
I'm going to repeat the clue and I'm going to
emphasize what we should emphasize.
Speaker 6 (16:50):
Okay, all right, this is so this is like another
hint with it a hint. All right, here we go, man,
I don't know where are the time goes?
Speaker 5 (17:02):
But it sure goes fast shut fast.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
Fast might be my favorite new f word.
Speaker 6 (17:12):
Eight hundred and three two one thirty six ninety three.
Guess where the tickets are? Color number nine.
Speaker 4 (17:18):
I can't wait?
Speaker 1 (17:19):
Swear did you stay in sane?
Speaker 4 (17:22):
I cannot wait.
Speaker 5 (17:23):
Scotty McCreary is going to be here tomorrow with the
iHeart Country World premiere of his new song.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
It feels like an unlikely matchup, but based on.
Speaker 5 (17:31):
The clip I'm here for it, Booty and the Blowfish
teaming up with Scotty McCreary. Yeah, all right, Well, we
played the clue a few minutes ago.
Speaker 4 (17:40):
We have pointed.
Speaker 5 (17:41):
I think we've got people at least thinking in the
right direction. Bethany, okay, because it's an actual place, but
the tickets are there virtually.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
This is make believe. Yeah, well here's your imagination, and
let me explain.
Speaker 5 (17:56):
Why if we actually put them where we've put them virtually,
and this is not a clue as to the spot,
but it could cause a problem because you could have
a million people, you know, going eighty miles an hour
to get there first. It'd be dangerous. There'd be lawyers,
there would be a whole thing. So because of the
practicality of it all. It's virtual, but it's still very realistic.
(18:22):
It's still very much a place. Okay, are we Are
you good with that?
Speaker 1 (18:26):
I like that?
Speaker 4 (18:26):
All right? Now? What is your name? Tina? You're a painter?
Speaker 5 (18:32):
Yeah? Well no, because I've got I can talk to
you about some self off the air, but you don't.
Speaker 4 (18:40):
Pay huh no?
Speaker 5 (18:42):
All right, Well, Tina, maybe you could win a trip
to go to Vegas to see Kenny Chesney at the Sphere.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
Wouldn't that be incredible?
Speaker 1 (18:52):
I'd love to all right, well.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
I would love to hear that you win.
Speaker 5 (18:56):
All you need to do is tell me and Bethany
right now where we have hidden virtually airfare, hotel, accommodations
and tickets for Kenny Chesney.
Speaker 4 (19:05):
Where are they?
Speaker 1 (19:08):
Is it Maryland Live Casino?
Speaker 4 (19:10):
Bethany? Is it Maryland Live Casino?
Speaker 3 (19:14):
It is Nina ninety three point one WPOC traffic.
Speaker 5 (19:21):
We'll do it again though, another clue musically from Kenny,
and we'll do a weekend to help.
Speaker 4 (19:26):
At nine forty this morning.
Speaker 6 (19:28):
Tons of debris on the roadway. Some roads are flooded
this morning. Please be careful and be safe on your
way to work. Give you give yourself, lots of time
if you can. The Bay Bridge has a wind
