My my nephew, Austin Kent was one of the homes
that was hit by the tornado.

I'm staring story where, yes, where's his home?

It's right in in uh Essex. They had a big
thing on the news. One of the homes got the
roof tore off and his home every surface is affected.
But he was home and he had his eighty seven
year old grandmother out on the porch and he got
an alert on his phone and the alert notified him

that there was a tornado in the area. So he
got his grandmother in the house just as it hits.
Thank god, they got that warning because she wouldn't be
with them because their front porch got humbled with stuff.

Oh my god. And he didn't get an alert on
his phone. Okay, yes he did. Well, that's good. Thank you.

The alert and was able to get out and he
just got through the door shut when it hit. And
he said, as he was putting her in, he had

Well, an EF one tornado with peak winds of one
hundred and ten miles per hour, it did rip up
quite an area. The National Weather Service now is recapping
the path of this tornado, which lasted for five point
seventy five miles Bethany and a maximum with seventy five yards.

I don't have any reference point, though, I'm like, that's huge. Wow,
no IDEA football field's one hundred yards. Oh, I mean,
like compared to other tornadoes, you know, what I mean.

I saw a twister like it's not that it wasn't
that big so but but this one ripped the roof
off the Merrit Club of Canton, which was condemned temporarily,
I guess.

story this morning about how in Saint Louis there was
a deadly tornade, know, and they no sirens went off
at all. Wow. And the mayor said that it was
a situation of like nobody knew whose job it was

And I was like, what I'm trying to figure out?
Is it human run or is it automated? This whole
National Weather Service tornado warning system.

a combination of both automated and human run processes.

They say that that the computer models kind of layout
what is likely to be a threat, and that a
human being forecaster has the responsibility of issuing the warning
when they see. Well, look that Doppler radar says x
or we've got reports of citing a tornado on the ground.

But you got to figure it though, Bethany, these things,

My my nephew, Austin Kent was one of the homes
that was hit by the tornado.

I'm staring story where, yes, where's his home?

It's right in in uh Essex. They had a big
thing on the news. One of the homes got the
roof tore off and his home every surface is affected.
But he was home and he had his eighty seven
year old grandmother out on the porch and he got
an alert on his phone and the alert notified him

that there was a tornado in the area. So he
got his grandmother in the house just as it hits.
Thank god, they got that warning because she wouldn't be
with them because their front porch got humbled with stuff.

Oh my god. And he didn't get an alert on
his phone. Okay, yes he did. Well, that's good. Thank you.

just got through the door shut when it hit. And

quite an area. The National Weather Service now is recapping
the path of this tornado, which lasted for five point

I don't have any reference point, though, I'm like, that's huge. Wow,
no IDEA football field's one hundred yards. Oh, I mean,

I saw a twister like it's not that it wasn't
that big so but but this one ripped the roof
off the Merrit Club of Canton, which was condemned temporarily,

didn't watch Squid Game at all because it seems too
much for me. I have watched it is It's strange
it's too much for me. Yeah, Stranger Things number four,
Adolescens number five, which I tried watching and I don't like.

Do you ever feel like when you're watching something on
the stream and then it has like the continue watching?
Do you feel pressured to continue watching even if you
don't like it?

Now, if I like it, I'm watching it.

And the best shows I think are the ones that
there's there you have such a hook you can't help
but flip to the next episode, you know what I mean.

But overall overall, I'm not gonna have my TV command
me refused. Oh, I feel the pressure. Ninety three point

before Liberty Road. Broken down vehicle reported in the roadway
not causing it to way right now, So watching the

slow on the outloop as you pass it Liberty Road.

just some heavy volume there from points north seven ninety
five looks good. From Reisterstown down to the six ninety

We were talking about tornadoes and that f EF one
that came through Baltimore. Yeah, Fell's point through Canton and
Dundoc Friday night.

You did get a warning or didn't get a well,
not get a warning on my phone. Then someone at
Chick fil A did get a warning. They did, but
they said.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
It was like be almost too late, like just just
a couple of minutes before it happened, which I mean,
I guess that's what happens. But then I saw a
story this morning about how in Saint Louis there was
a deadly tornade, know, and they no sirens went off
at all. Wow. And the mayor said that it was
a situation of like nobody knew whose job it was

to put the sirens on.

And I was like, what I'm trying to figure out?
Is it human run or is it automated? This whole
National Weather Service tornado warning system.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
So here's what I'm seeing on Google.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
Okay, they're saying National Weather Service Tornado Warning system is
a combination of both automated and human run processes.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
Well, that sounds good.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
They say that that the computer models kind of layout
what is likely to be a threat, and that a
human being forecaster has the responsibility of issuing the warning
when they see. Well, look that Doppler radar says x
or we've got reports of citing a tornado on the ground.
Speaker 2 (23:54):
But you got to figure it though, Bethany, these things,
there's a lot of room for error. Yeah, there is.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
And they also land really quick. It's they come out
of the clouds.
Speaker 5 (24:03):
You know.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
I remember peacefully sitting on the beach and Grant came
in looking out at the water, and they call them
water spouts. It's basically the exact same thing as a
tonado tornado, only it's in the ocean and they come
there like you're looking and then oh, look at that.
It comes down at it connects and it's there. So
I guess what they they look at the Weather Service,

They look at winds and they look at.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Patterns that could develop into a into a tornado exactly.
But they never like when I was younger, Like when
I was a little girl, I remember it being pretty straightforward.
You hear the siren, you go to the basement, right,
But now it's like, well, you might get a thing on.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
Your phone, but you could shut that off if you want.
And I'm like, well do we want to? I don't understand.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
Does anybody really know who's running this whole systems.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
I'm curious because I mean, it is a matter of
life and death.
Speaker 3 (25:06):

kind of what happened Friday night with that tornado. So
we were asking the question, who is sitting there with
their finger on the switch on the button to.

Warn us when there's a tornado?

The warning?

Did we did the radio station?

Again, I don't know because I wasn't here.

I'm assuming we get eas which is a national warning thing.
So there are times that if something like that is imminent,
then they just they can break in.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
Yeah whatever, and you'll hear like the duc tones.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
Yeah, we call them. That's a very serious thing when
you hear that, and we treat it seriously. But it
com from offsite from.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Here, between not getting not hearing it on the radio
and also and or not getting it on my phone.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
I had no idea and I was like downtown.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
So I'm like frustrated about that, like like, wait a minute,
I didn't know that was happening, right, And like.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
Maybe it's very millennial of me, but I don't pay
attention to the weather at all, really at all. A
lot of people, I guess get like that. You know
what's strange to me? Yeah, because I'm a year or
two older than you. The weather to me matters, you know,
like nah, I just leave the house and I'm like,
oh shoot.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
And when I went to when I got and maybe
we should ask the audience about this too. But when
I jumped to this morning show with you, I asked
a few people like should we do the weather every
time we come on? The radio and you said no,
and other people said no, and I'm like, oh, okay,
because I was brought up in a time where it
was like, hey, Sunday in seventy two, today you know,
(26:57):
you know, And I still it's the first thing I
check when I get my phone right away.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
I go, I go to the weather, and I go
what's today going to be?
Speaker 1 (27:07):
Like nah?
Speaker 2 (27:08):
And then I'm like, okay, well now I know what
to wear. And I get all excited if it's going
to be nice, you know, like today is going to
be sunny and tamps right up to around seventy eight,
seventy nine something like that.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
When people start talking about the weather, iune all the
I that is so interesting.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
I don't even know what you just said. Really, you
started talking about weather, and I was like, Max, that's
so funny. I was like, I don't care.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
The only time I care is if I'm about to
potentially die, and like then I would like someone to
take this cell phone that I.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
Have in my hand right here and let me know.

I think it is so interesting that people in their
fifties and thirties and have such a different view on
it and I don't.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
I'm like the other day, I had like a little
sundress on and I was out showing houses and I
was like.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
I was like, ohday, is this why people pay attention
to this? You would have listened to the weather. You
wouldn't have been half naked. Ninety three point one WPOC traffic.
