but you don't eat cheese. No, I don't just eat
charcuterie board.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Okay, how did the shark cooterie board get in there?

Speaker 2 (03:27):
About the smoke cheese.

Speaker 1 (03:29):

Like it's oh, it's a tabou, not even close to that.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
I was just saying, like cheese, cheese burgers. You get
it on your chili cheese dog?

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Do you eat it? Okay? Okay, yeah, no chacuterie board.
I cut for it. Yeah, there you go. All right,
so are you cool with no? Thank you? We're in
small quarters, hey, we don't need that happening.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
We are not in this place where we have a
lot of space today. Uh khalil talk about there's only
there's two dudes in here over six foot in your video.

Speaker 2 (04:14):

you know, I y'all are in trouble. I'm over six
feet with you. But here's one of the here's one
of the things that I want you to try, Okay,

(04:41):
That bacon pickle fries.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
That bacon.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Yeah, slivers of deal pickle, battered and full and fried
until golden brown. They are lightly dusted with spicy ranch
pepper seasoning and they got kso on there and.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
You can get a a little bit of the heat.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
And it's with bacon chunks, sour cream, jalapenos, and childs.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Not interested, not interested. I know you mentioned the funnel cake,
right you a funnel cake. That's the only thing sweet
I'm gonna eat.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Okay, so the funnel cake is one of those that
is definitely a favorite. You got bluebell ice cream, yes,
bluebell ice cream on it, cherry drizzled doctor pepper syrup
topping with the prey lanes. And it's also got what
else is on this thing? Funnel cake cocktail? So you you.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Are gonna be So I got a question for you
on this food, lil. I need you to play some
slow romantic music. I need you to read this.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
I told you we were in close quarters. That is
not happening. I can't do it. So let me ask
you this.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Hey, okay, yeah, yeah, chocolate, no strawberries? You want?

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Yeah, cherry cherry, cherry, doctor pepper, sir, Oh man, come on,

bread crumbs, deep fried crispy to the crunch, got cheetos
on their hot cheetos. Here's one for you. The island rumble,
The island rumble. What does that sound like to you?

Speaker 3 (06:51):
It sounded like a trip to e r because anytime
that somebody say tropical or island, I think of coconut.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Okay, there's no cocking up here we go.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
But but we do have to ask the question though,
before you get it, do you cook in coconut because
you can't have coconut oil at all?

Speaker 3 (07:10):
Right, man, I have to have been a drill if
I eat a Hostess cupcake because they're cooking and.

No turkey leg this year.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
You know there's no there's got to be a turkey No,
I know there is, but I'm gonna I'm gonna do that.

This segment brought to you by the great folks over

and watch the game. If you're not making the trip
up to Dallas, well Cover three has you covered. Just
get over to Cover three, make your reservations now and

(17:18):
Yesterday I stopped by there for my mid week margaritas.
That way, it was only five dollars if you can
get over there and enjoy those as well. All right,
let's get into this conversation because we are here. Man,

mill in. If you're facing big text it'll go to
your right. If you're not facing big texts and your
big Texas behind you, go to your left and you
can find us. We'll be there doing the pregame show
as well.

Speaker 4 (18:22):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
I wanted to get into this conversation because a lot
has been made of Jake Majors.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
Jake Majors is returning for his season.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
He's done an unbelievable job of being the leader of
this Texas football team and bringing the energy. But one
of the biggest questions that is happening right now is
the running back room. What is going on with the
running backs and if the games were to start today,
who would be running be the running back in this situation.

Speaker 30 (18:53):
I thought they had a good week, that Jaden practiced
really well.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
I thought he never mind the ball.

Speaker 30 (18:58):
I thought, just you know, guys coming off an angle
injury and sometimes you're limited in practice leading up to
a game. But he looks really healthy, He's practicing fast.
Feel very comfortable with him. Both those guys are going
to play in the game, and I feel comfortable with
either one of them in the game that that we
can we can execute and do things that are really
high level.

Speaker 3 (19:17):
There you go, number five things five words, go ahead,
both hands on the ball.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
Yeah, I'll tell you if my hype traam is.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
Watching him be the guy that becomes the Texas legend,
like the guy at every every Cotton Bowl, there's a
guy that becomes a Texas legend.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
We thought it would be one of the Dallas boys.

Speaker 3 (19:49):
DNTE Cook, John Take Cook or Colin Simmons, but Anthony Hill.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
Anthony Hill, I think blue.

Speaker 3 (19:59):
This could be one of those retch for three touchdown
type games, like him not turn the ball over, him
running with both hands looking like Roger Craig or Priest
Holmes like I want to see him shine well. Another
guy that has stepped up from that same area is
Trey Weisner. Trey Wisner has done a really good job

(20:21):
of understanding his role as the running back and getting
those opportunities to run behind his pads, laying low and
getting through the line of scrimmage. I've been very impressed
with what I've seen from that young man in the
ability to take advantage of his situations. Coach Sark talked
about him from the very beginning of the summer and

(20:42):
was very impressed with the way that he's gone about
his business and stepping in to that role.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
So that's another name to pay attention to.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
It is fun when you can talk about the running
back room and see that the depth that is still
there even at the very beginning of the season, losing
a CJ. Baxter, losing Christian Clark and those other guys,
and a person we haven't talked about is Baby Ryan, Yeah,
Baby Rhino, Jered Gibson being able to be that guy

(21:14):
be physical in this ballgame. But you mentioned something about
two hands on the ball, and this is the type
of game where you got to minimize the turnovers. That's
what hurt Texas last year in this ballgame, kept giving
them opportunities to win it, and they ended up taking
it from thirty four to thirty. So that is something
that Texas is definitely conscious of. But going back to

(21:38):
Jake Majors and the importance of a Sinner that actually
missed the game last year, and Jake got a chance
to talk about what does this game mean to him
being one that he missed last year.

Speaker 31 (21:53):
Uh No, I mean every game means the same to me.
You know, it wasn't fun not playing this game last year,
but I was still confident in Connor to go out
there and perform and have no drop off in the
way we play. But it's a new year. I'm healthy
going into this game and look forward to finishing healthy.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
Was it agonizing watching it?

Speaker 31 (22:17):
Wasn't fun, But at the same time, I was fully
confident everybody out there to you know, give us a win.
But you know, we fall short and it's okay, but
you know it's a new year, like I said, and
you know, I'm healthy now and I look forward to
being healthier than the game.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
Yeah, we're excited to have him back on the field
as well. I mean, he's an important part of what
this team needs as far as helping with the calls
at the line of scrimmage, scheming and letting everybody know
their role as they get to the line.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
So to me that I'm glad to have that young
man back.

Speaker 3 (22:53):
And also being able to recognize the the coverage and
who's this, who's this strength of the defense and being
able to pat hisself on the butt and let the
quarterback know, hey, this is the side of the strength,
so you know, he knows that there's an odd number
or even number of people on that.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
Side of the field.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
And you know, one of the biggest things for me
is last year, Dylan Gabriel was able to run a
lot during that ball game. He was putting himself. That's
what ended up hurting Texas. Dylan Gabriel coming back being
able to run, and now they have a quarterback in
Michael Hawkins Junior that can run, so Baron Surrell talked

(23:37):
about it yesterday or earlier in the week and talked
about being able to pass rush the lanes.

Speaker 32 (23:44):
It's being discussed a lot, obviously, and I mean, I
take accountability for that along with some of the other
guys that were here. We definitely need to do better
in that aspect. And that's definitely going to be an
aspect that we're focusing on throughout the weekend.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
That will take care of set of it.

Speaker 1 (23:59):
And I can't wait for I can't wait to see
what this team is going to be able to do
because they're experienced, right, you know, they have the mental
makeup to be able to do certain things. And that
is why when you look at this Texas football team
being the number one team. Maylan Wesley talked about it
when he came on the show yesterday from Oklahoma. He

(24:20):
was like, man, it hurts me that Texas is coming
into this game as the number one team in the country.
But when you watch them, you understand who they are
and what they are every single time, and that to
me tells us everything about this football team.

Speaker 3 (24:38):
You know, you know a hard jime. I forced them
not to be able to run a quarterback. Yeah, I
forced him to be a pocket passer and have one
of these younger, newer, inexperienced.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
Wide receivers beat me. Yeah, I want to see it.
I'm gonna force you to.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
There's gonna be seven people in the bombs yup, and
there's always gonna be a spot. And when you got
a spider runs of four forty, it's pretty that's an
odd evener.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
Yeah, Well, we're gonna find out real quick. And speaking
of being real quick and talking about being the convincing
number one.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
Greg McElroy, who has been.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
Talking about Texas for quite some time, we got a
chance to talk to him at SEC Media Days.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
He came on the show with myself and Craig Way.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
He's really impressed with what Texas is and now Texas
has an opportunity to really lock in as that number
one team in the country.

Speaker 13 (25:34):
The Red River Rivalry first edition of both these teams
being in the SEC. It's one of my favorite games.
I grew up with this game. I look at Texas
right now and this will be the first team that
they've faced this year that has legitimate threats offensively, assuming
Oklahoma's a little healthier than they've been the last.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
Couple of weeks.

Speaker 13 (25:50):
If Texas wins convincingly, does that assert them as the
number one team or are there still question marks for you?

Speaker 33 (25:58):
Again, it's a trust thing, and I trust Texas implicitly
right now because they got the wins they needed to.
They went on the road in Michigan, got the win,
and they're the best quarterback situation of the country. I
think Texas really will have something to say about being
the best team in the country. I really believe anybody's
capable of being beat. But if Texas goes in there
and handle Oklahoma and beat them convincingly, then you really

(26:19):
do have to start thinking, Okay, we're going to see
Texas Georgia and in two weeks so we'll know more
about him then, But at least for one week, based
on what we just saw in week six, I would
say that the Texas probably lays claim to the best
team in the country.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
And there's no doubt about that. If they can go
in there and handle their business. Yeah, they're still a
fourteen point favorite. I looked at it again last night.
They're still sitting at fourteen point.

Speaker 2 (26:45):
What what? What? This is hard? Being a favorite doesn't
matter in this game.

Speaker 3 (26:53):
Understand like, this is the rivalry game, and you're going
to have to go and produce, and everybody is gonna
get hit in him out. And we jokingly talked about
that earlier. Somebody's gonna go down to a knee in
the first quarter, there's gonna be a turnover. You're gonna

(27:14):
have to stand up and answer the call or get
blown out.

Speaker 2 (27:18):
Yep. And that could be either way in a rivalry game,
because the emotions of the game take over where your
talent is not there. Yeah. So I'm just seeing.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
And hoping that Texas is able to answer that call
and realize, hey man, we might get hit, we might
get rocked.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
We got to bounce back. So keep your head about yourself.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
And I want you to hear come from coach Sarkin
talking about his favorite favorite Texas owe you moment. And
by the way, in case you didn't know, he loves
this game.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
I love everything about the Red River rivalry.

Speaker 30 (27:59):
I love pulling in to the State Fair and seeing
fans from both teams and horns up, horns down, all
the stuff flying around the buses. I love walking the field.
I love the tunnel. I love both teams being on
the tunnel together. I love coming down and they're fans
on top of us. I love looking at the sea
of burn orange and running to that end of the field.
I love the intensity of the game. I love how

(28:21):
crowded the sidelines aren't. I don't know how so many
people get on the sidelines for this game, but they do.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
Hey whatever, you know.

Speaker 30 (28:28):
I turn around and Governor Abbotts right next to me
on the field, and there's just stuff that happens in
this game that I think that's what makes this game special.
And like I said, we're fortunate to be part of it,
and this week's no different.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
You know, it's funny that that he said that, because
you mentioned that that one time. You were like, man,
you turn around and like people are right next to you,
and you expecting people.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
To be there.

Speaker 1 (28:51):
You're on the field and you turn around and you're like, man, I.

Speaker 3 (28:53):
Can touch the fans that close horns. They're like Markanran
and I'm like, you ain't there on.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
The field with you.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
You know, I turn around, I go high five somebody,
and somebody will say, hey, what about me?

Speaker 2 (29:06):
What about me? Can you hold my baby? Is take
a picture?

Speaker 3 (29:10):
You know, Like that's how close you are, and you
know I'm stood on that side and you hold my
baby and take a picture. Bro, It's happened a thousand
I've said that at the tailgates and I've actually got
to stand on the sideline and put the hat on.
You know, I got a picture somewhere, I mean with
with the gold hat on.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
And I don't.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
Remember being on a team that I played on because
you know, we had success, but I never won a championship.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
Like the feeling of putting that hat.

Speaker 3 (29:46):
On is like like I won the championship or something
and I'm not even a member of the team. You're not,
so like these guys gotta feel like kings. Oh yeah,
you know that they're ready for you.

Speaker 1 (29:59):
Gotta coming up next, We're gonna talk to our man,

You're listening to sports radio. Hey, I'm thirteen hundred to soon.

Speaker 2 (39:22):
You know what time it is.

Speaker 1 (39:23):
It's seven forty and it's on Thursday, Thursday, Thursday edition
of the Morning Kickoff right here on Sports Radio AM
thirteen hundred The Zone And as he always does every Thursday,
we are joined by Horns twenty four to seven's Eric Henry.
You can follow him on social media at Eric c
Henry Underscore E. We missed coach Sharks media availability yesterday,

(39:48):
but that is why it's always good to have you
on Thursday. What did the great coach of the Texas
Longhorns have to say yesterday on his sec media availability.

Speaker 41 (40:00):
Well, first of all, I was always appreciate y'all having
me on, and really, you know, one of the biggest
things coming from Steve's availability was just talking about the
readiness of this team, the preparedness of this team heading
into of course a regular shootout, which this is only
the fifth time in program history of Texas enters as
the number one team in America, So that really was

(40:23):
the major takeaway. And then of course, you know our
guy Sam Cone shot the Sam con does a great
job with the athletic of Texans. Was asking Steve Sartisian
and Brent Vnables about Fletcher's corny dogs, which, come to
find out, Steve hasn't had one in his four years
here at Texas, and Brent Vannibles apparently had no idea
what he was talking about. So those are two make
sure takeaways in the eleven minute portion there with Steve.

Speaker 1 (40:44):
Awkward, I'll bring you one.

Speaker 2 (40:50):
So you know, we're getting ready.

Speaker 1 (40:51):
For this rivalry and there's a lot to unpack, especially
as you said, with Texas being the number one team
in the land. Oklahoma coming in and some polls as sixteen,
some other polls at eighteen. You start to look at
this matchup and what stands out the most your your
most concerned situation for Texas in this game.

Speaker 33 (41:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 41 (41:15):
Absolutely, there's one recipe in my mind for Oklahoma to
win this game. It is controlling the football and creating turnovers.
Talking about Oklahoma defense a top five in the nation
and not only sacks, forcing facks, but forcing turnovers as well.
I think this is going to be a really interesting
matchup for Texas's offensive line because while the Longhorns have

(41:36):
only allowed five sacks this year, they ad necessarily faced
most formidable of defensive lines. Now, well, I'll put up
to write a caveat that. Of course, Michigan is certainly
a top notch defensive line.

Speaker 2 (41:47):
They performed well there.

Speaker 41 (41:49):
I don't think they necessarily faced, you know, kind of
a defensive scheme that you're going to get Brent bettables
and of course, given a guy who's a noted defensive
coordinator nearly two weeks to prepare a game plan to
try to put pressure on Quinn you or so, that's
going to be interesting. But again, the turnovers, in my
mind and I hate to put the spotlight all on
one kid, but you know what we're talking about in

(42:09):
Jayden Blue is fourth and fifth fumble that took place
in Mississippi State. That's the fifth fumble of his career
in only one hundred and fifty six touches. So as
that's a fumble every thirty two thirty one point two
time to touch the football, that's you know, far below
the college standard or or professional standards for that matter.
So really protecting the football the only way that I

(42:30):
see Oklahoma in my mind, having a chance to stick
with Texas for four courts. And of course it's the game.
The crazy things happened, right, Nine out of the last
eleven games have come down to one score, so crazy
things can happen, but you can't give Oklahoma extra opportunities,
especially with a true freshman quarterback like Michael Hawkins.

Speaker 2 (42:46):
Junior ken Folk.

Speaker 3 (42:49):
Hopefully I'll get to see you this weekend, but we
I don't want to sound like the Jayden Blue fan
club chair or the Excuse committee, but every time he
turns the ball over, he's he's just trying to do
too much, Like is it possible that they've told him, Hey, man,

(43:11):
you got a team around you, like, don't try to
do too much, do enough to get your job done,
and then let's let's not put the ball on the
ground and keep it keep it rolling.

Speaker 41 (43:26):
Yeah, I mean, listen, my first off three mart Rope.
I catched with you this weekend as a flority and
I've never had a Fletcher's corny dog as well. So
if you want to, you know, introduce your boy to
some of those as well, I will be more than
happy to get on those. But done as far as
as far as getting blue, no, I mean, it's it's
a it's a double edged sword, right because Tashar Choice
is very adamant open about he wants this back fighting

(43:46):
for extra yarders, But like you said, you have to
be smart about it, right, maybe not necessarily doing that
in traffic if you're you know, towards the side right
or where you got the sideline as your friend, Yeah,
you want to fight for extra yardists, but you don'tly
someone want to do that in the middle of the field.
We're you ten get stripped. And I'm of the book,
I'm on the record, I'm of the beliefs that Texas
can't win a national championship without Jayden Blue playing to

(44:07):
the fullest of his potential. There's just not enough death
less in this running back room. We already know this
season made an injury to c. J. Baxer and Christian Clark.
There's no way that if you take a player as
talented as gifted that home run threat anytime he touches
the ball like Jayden Blue, and he's let's just say,
you know, sixty seventy percent of what he is in

(44:28):
terms of his confidence and maybe what you're getting out
of his ability. I as good as quinn yours is
and as good as this wide receiving room is, I
don't think there's enough left in the running back room
for Texas to make it fifteen sixteen games to win
national title without Jayden Blue playing ten potential.

Speaker 1 (44:42):
Yeah, I agree with you. We're talking to Eric Henry
of Horns twenty four to seven. You can follow him
at Eric C. Henry Underscore and he going over to
the other side. With Oklahoma facing this Texas defense, Obviously,
Michael Hawkins Junior can run around and he's and elusive
at times, but he hadn't seen a defense like this

(45:04):
Texas Longhorn football team I know that Eric Derek William
excuse me, is listed as probable him being back in
that secondary and he's a for sure tackler.

Speaker 2 (45:16):
Bodes well for your Texas Longhorns.

Speaker 41 (45:19):
Yeah, listen, here's the thing with Michael Hawkins. And you
were there on Monday when Steve Startigian.

Speaker 2 (45:24):
Pointed this out.

Speaker 41 (45:25):
One of the upsides, Yeah, I get that to that
in air quotes. Upsides about being, you know, a true
freshman quarterback who doesn't have a ton of experience, a
ton of starts is you're kind of coming with a blank.

Speaker 2 (45:35):
Slate, right, you don't know what you don't know.

Speaker 41 (45:37):
I'll give you an example. You looked last year Texas
State BYU and Keiden Slovias, someone who started, you know,
five six years of college football play back the time
at USC and Pitt and others, and he looked like
a quarterback who was shook because he knew the environment
he was going into when DYU came to Texas and
as a result, you know, Texas had an easy win.

(45:57):
At least you're talking about a kidden Hawkins junior going
back to his home area up in the DFW area.
And again, you don't know what you don't know. He's
going to try and cut it loose and just see
what happens. But the chips fall where they may. I
think it's really interesting for Texas. You talk about getting
Derek Williams back. I think this is a game where
those edge rushers, I'm really interested to see how they share, right,
because you're going to face the guy with a duel threat.

(46:19):
You've got to keep the lane integrity. You can't get
him lane to escape and extend plays with his legs
A lout Dylan Gabriel from last year. So I think
that's an interesting matchup. But I just published this on
Warren's twenty fourth to seven dot com.

Speaker 3 (46:30):
Go and check it out.

Speaker 41 (46:31):
Defensive coordinator of Pete Potowski's history against inexperience or first
time starters Texas to seven and two over the four
years that they face the quarterback with three or less.
Start to go ahead and check it out and kind
of get a read for how the defensive game plan
they stare out and just look at how PK's done
against those young quarterbacks.

Speaker 1 (46:49):
Yeah, it's gonna be an interesting look, especially now when
you know you don't know what you don't know, but
when you do find out. It can intensify quickly, as
we've seen in the past.

Speaker 2 (47:02):
When are you going up?

Speaker 41 (47:05):
I'm actually I'm torn between heading up tonight or early
Friday morning. I'll be in DFW be all right, Well.

Speaker 1 (47:11):
Let us know where you're gonna going up tonight. We'll
tell you where we're gonna be and we can all
kick it and have some fellowship as we like to
do one of these type of type of trips because
although it's a business trip, you still like to have
a little bit of fun, right.

Speaker 41 (47:29):
Listen between that and you know, in Nashville, definitely a
couple of trips slip on the schedule to have a
little little fun out.

Speaker 1 (47:35):
I do want to ask you, man, is your family
okay in the Florida area. I know it's been rough.
We've seen some videos just hoping and praying that everybody's
doing okay.

Speaker 41 (47:45):
Yeah, no Ahart, I really appreciate that, Brother, appreciate you
asking so far. You know, everyone's okay, and it sounds cliche,
but you know, things can be replaced. Just the best
thing about it is right now everyone seems to be
safe and unharmed, So.

Speaker 1 (47:58):
I appreciate no problem, man, and we're always thinking about
the folks in Florida. Man, so appreciate you letting us know.
All right, man, have safe travels and we'll talk again soon.

Speaker 1 (54:33):
Great stuff from Eric Henry of Horns twenty four to seven.
Make sure you follow him on social media and of
course check out his work at Horns twenty four to seven.
Yet last night we have Major League Baseball, well actually
starting in the afternoon, there were some great games that
were played. The Detroit Tigers defeated the Cleveland Guardians to
take a two to one series league They beat him

(54:55):
three to nothing. Great pitching performance. Another shutout, Great work
by Detroit. The Phillies, well, we'll get to that one
in a minute. The Dodgers defeated the San Diego Padres
eight to zero. Another shutout, great pitching performance, and wait
to swing the bat for the Dodgers. Mookie Bets finally

(55:16):
gets a home run. Didn't look like he was getting
fooled again. He had some good plate appearances last night
as well. But yesterday, John Carlos Stanton, Mike is what
his name is? Gean Carlos Stanton had a big, big
day yesterday. And of course Bob Costas gives you so
much emotion.

Speaker 2 (55:37):
Almost imperceptible.

Speaker 4 (55:39):
Stanton hits one well in the gap, but left center field,
and that's going to get down Shoto heading for third
and being waved home.

Speaker 7 (55:46):
The peg to the plate is late.

Speaker 4 (55:48):
It's an RBI double for Stanton, who pumps his fist
as he arrives at second bay.

Speaker 2 (55:52):
He said, the Yanks jump in front. Won nothing that
is non emotional. Bob Costas.

Speaker 1 (55:58):
Costas normally is a guy that back in the day
he was.

Speaker 2 (56:03):
So good at calling it. He's still good.

Speaker 1 (56:05):
I'm not not hating on him, but man, oh man,
he didn't sound too excited. Bobby Wood Junior made a
diving play in the hole two days ago, double play
on John Carlo Stanton, and he was like, oh, that's
not Stanton.

Speaker 2 (56:22):
Exactly.

Speaker 3 (56:23):
Sounded like a fan that almost reacted like he was
at home.

Speaker 1 (56:27):
I'm like, come on, give me more. Man, you're supposed
to be the voice of baseball. You're great at what
you do.

Speaker 5 (56:34):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (56:35):
He was like, oh, man, I can't believe that this happened.
Way to go John Carlo, not his father. I'm like, coactly.

Speaker 2 (56:42):
So you hear.

Speaker 1 (56:43):
That, and John Carlo had a great day yesterday, going
three for five, driving into runs, scoring one with a
big home run as well. But then you hear this
from Fox and the fact that Francisco Lindor had the
biggest swing of the night.

Speaker 9 (57:00):
But two one Lindor turns right center field.

Speaker 2 (57:03):
This went batch.

Speaker 7 (57:07):
Sun and looked puts the nuts up time, the biggest
swing of the season for New York.

Speaker 1 (57:25):
Tell me about that energy. And that is the same
type of announcer that is calling that game. He did
the exact same thing when Lindor hit the home run
against the Atlanta Braves to win to get them into
the playoffs. Hit a grand slam against Atlanta. He hits
one last night, and that is what I was listening

(57:45):
for for the Yankees. There's only two ways that you
react like that. One year, Homer, that's.

Speaker 2 (57:52):
My team, and the other Vegas we didn't.

Speaker 1 (57:57):
No, No, you re act like that when you are
calling an emotional moment in the game. Craigway would do
the same thing if he's calling the high school football
game where he has no ties to it, or if
he was doing Texas Longhorns, you wouldn't know either a why.
That is why he's good. And he's a Hall of Famer,

(58:19):
and that is why he's ours. Craigway is ours. When
we come back, we'll start off our number two and
continue the conversations.

Speaker 2 (58:27):
We don't forget.

Speaker 1 (58:28):
We've got our Legends of the Locker Room segment coming
up at eight seventeen, and of course we got the
world's Strongest take coming up at eight forty. Don't go anywhere.
Our number two of the morning Kickoff starts right now.
