Thirteen hundred.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
This Zone presents a special NFL Draft show live from
Twin Peaks and Round Rock. Here's your hosts, Craig Way,
Mike Harge, Mark Henry, and Cameron Parker.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Well, believe it or not.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Believe it or not, it is Draft Day around the
National Football League, and that of course means more than
just the NFL. It involves all of the people who
become a part of what the National Football League originally
referred to as its selection meeting.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
It's about more than that, obviously.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
We're glad to have you with us our annual NFL
Draft Previews special from Twin Peaks. Here in Round Rockey
thirty five Here Louis Henna Boulevard, coming from the south,
Just get off at the Lewis Henna exits. Stay on
the service road right there on your right. My name
is Craig Way. Glad to have you with us. Mike
Cardball Harje is alongside part of the purveyor of all

(00:56):
of this happening as usual.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
That's right, that's right. I'm excited to be here, Craig.
You know, last year was our first time being able
to come out to this Twin Peaks location.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Great location, great.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
People working here trying to help us out at making
our job so much easier.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
It's certainly done that and a guy who always makes
her job easier is the world's strongest man. Mark Henry,
your co host for the morning kickoff seven am to
nine am here on AM thirteen hundred The Zone. It's
always good when we get a chance to all work together,
because that doesn't happen very often.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
No, I don't, and we have to get together more
because just listening to you is master's class one. But
also I always like to hear the history. I always
get a history lesson when I sit with you.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Well, a lot of people say that I am history,
you know, but that's okay. I appreciate that of course.
Also masterminding putting this all together. My producer of The
Craigway Show is the one and only Cameron D.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Parker.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
The Dealons birth certificate stands for Dallas, who's actually named
for his favorite NFL team that he refuses to watch
these days because he's very upset with them and their ownership.
But today, Cam, the D stands for one thing and
one thing only.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Oh Draft. Yeah, oh, super excited for this.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
Got to be here with you guys, And the best
part of draft day is seeing all the separate reports
we hear striding the Cowboys. The best one I've seen
so far yesterday was that Jerry Jones would not have
an impact unless it was an emergency on the first pick.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Mean, what does that even mean?

Speaker 5 (02:37):
And first off, I call bull, well, you tell me
Jerry Jones is not going to sit there in the
war room and have a decision on who is selected
first for the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
What would you consider an emergency?

Speaker 5 (02:50):
I don't Maybe Travis Hunter following the twelve, like, what
is an emergency?

Speaker 4 (02:54):
And I don't know that would be an emergency. And
that's when he's on the situation. Yeah, because you would
have to call an ambulance because my heart would be
fluttering really really bad.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
So it would too for all of the personnel people
the teams above the Cowboys who let him drop that
far right, So that, yeah, emergency. Let's talk about improbability
or impossibility of that happened. But there is a lot
to discuss today, not only on you know, who the
Cowboys would select, but also the first the top ten.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Obviously in this town.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
We're going to be keenly interested and aware of what's
going on with the Texas Longhorns who will be a
part of Draft A. Last year, the Longhorns had eleven
players drafted. I think that number may be surpassed this year,
and perhaps for the first time, for the first time
since the nineteen eighty one draft, we may well have

(03:53):
three Longhorns taken in the first round in it. And
before we go any further, I just want to say
this because the one who was taken at the top
edge of that in that nineteen eighty one draft is
none other nineteen eighty two drafts and none other than
our just recently departed friend who wasn't here.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
It was here and part of the show.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
A year ago, the great kenn of Sims, whom we
just lost. And I know, Mike, you and Mark were
both at the memorial service today and a stirring and
emotional day there for the kenn of Sims family and
for the Longhorn football family and the pro football family extended.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Yeah, you couldn't have said it any better.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
It was a very emotional day for everybody that was involved.
Kenneth was a great human being and people talked about
how great he was and more importantly, you know, you
start to look around and see what he built around here,
and what I mean by that is the friendships, the
ability to walk into a room and think that everybody's

(04:56):
his friend, because that's what he wanted to feel next year.
Being able to have him here at this time was
was We'll always play a special part of my mind.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
For sure, no doubt about it.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
And Mark, you shared a pretty humorous story about when
we were here with him last year and your son
Jacob was here, and Jacob not only showed up here,
he brought his appetite with him, and Kenneth took note
of that.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
Yeah, Kenneth was like, just by that boyt some more food.
Jacob ate forty wings, three orders of fries, order to dessert.
I mean, he was out of control and Ken was like,
hey man, that's just a young man being a young man,
like just ordered to do some food.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
We'll all have fond memories, certainly of Kennyth Simson, what
he meant to the Texas program and what he meant
also not only to the Longhorn family, but like I said,
to the pro football family and the.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
People who knew him really really well.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Additionally, we would be remiss if we didn't also mention
the passing of Steve McMichael, who was overlapped crossed over
into that time with Kenne Simms, and he was something else, Bam, Bam, mungo,
all the nicknames that he had, and was just a great,

(06:17):
great college football player, as exhibited by the fact that
he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
He was a great pro player, one of the anchors
of that incredible Chicago Bears defense of nineteen eighty five
that won Super Bowl twenty. And we just lost him
yesterday to Luke Gerrig's disease to als. And he was

(06:40):
sixty seven and was a great football player and was
inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame just prior
to his passing, And so I mean, it's a double
loss to have both of those guys no longer with us.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
Well, the interesting part about that part of the conversation
is he was Steve McMichael was Kenneth Simms leader, He.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Was his big bro.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
He was the one that used to call him Pup,
and so every time that they had their conversations, he
was still recognized as Pup. So losing those two guys
I guarantee you whoever is running the ball up there
and getting very many yards going up against those two.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Yeah, right, the anchors in the middle of it. There
were special people, no doubt about it. But we definitely
wanted to mention that right at the top of the
show because both of those guys, you know, were a
part of this whole process of the NFL Draft and
it's a very very special day. And Mark as a
world class athlete and who has been friends with so

(07:40):
many who have gone through this process, many of whom
were drafted, some of who might not have been and
and and became free agents. Can you describe and we'll
visit also with with and here conversations with people who
went through this process during this program today, But can
you describe the vibe you got from those guys and
what it was like to go through all.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
Of that just I mean, you deal with legends all
the time, but these guys weren't just legends. They were legendary,
like the stories preceded them. Big Kenny as well as
Steve McMichael, and I know there Steve McMichael's coach very well,
the guy that broke him in, as we say in

(08:24):
wrestling or taught him the game.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
Just one great story after another.

Speaker 4 (08:30):
And then when I finally met him, it was like
I met a television character like one of the Avengers
or something like McMichael was, you know, the storytelling, the virada,
the strength and confidence in a man like he was
a man, and I just really enjoyed that. And I

(08:54):
know if they were both still here, like this is
a kind of event they would want to be at,
talk about wrestling, talking about football, talking about the draft,
and we would all be blessed by hearing.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
Their stories, no question about it.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
And you got to know him really, really well, as
you mentioned, through the wrestling industry, even though he was
he was a great college football player and a great
pro football player, but the crossover was a big part
of his own.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
And the lifting, Like I didn't realize how serious a
lifter he was, and him and Rick Flair both used
to powerlift, and just hearing the stories and the things
that he did at his weight to be two hundred
and seventy five pounds and to have a six hundred

(09:39):
pounds squad, you know back then during that time, was
out of Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Nobody, it wouldn't.

Speaker 4 (09:47):
I guarantee you there wasn't twenty guys in the NFL
that could do it, wasn't ten maybe that could do
that during that time. So he was well ahead of
himself the six hundred pounds deadlift, five hundred pound bench press,
like he was a stud and just talking about He
would ask me stuff about lifting, like same as Big Kenny,

(10:10):
Like man, Mark, how much did you lift? And then
I was saying it was like, oh, okay, so you
now you're showing off.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
You know, I'm answering the question.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
Look, I just I love being around now because they,
like I said, with you like you get an education.
It's not just you know, getting to know somebody you
know by fandom, which I was a fan of both
of those guys.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
We've got a lot to get to obviously on the program, Uh,
we're gonna hear conversations that Mike and Mark had with
several different people who factor in to this NFL drafter
might have had experiences in their own time as draft
as well as people who have monitored what's going on

(10:59):
in the run up to the draft that starts at
seven o'clock tonight. Additionally, we'll run down some of those
mock draft things and what some of it because you
said it before we got on the air Mark you said,
there's so many mock drafts right now, and there's a
lot of different opinions, and the vast majority of them
might be incorrect. But the diamond and the rough is
the one that's out there that's, hey, this one's this

(11:20):
one's gonna be good to see. So, I mean, it's
good to examine a cross section of NFL drafts from
NFL draft experts.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
No doubt, and every time you look at it, you
My biggest question throughout this draft, and I know a
lot of people are talking about Schador Sanders, mine is
about Kelvin Banks. Kelvin Banks is somebody coming into the
season you thought he was gonna be the first lineman
off the board. He very well could be, but that's
not what everybody's talking about. They're talking about other guys

(11:50):
in these situations, and so I'm really intrigued by Yes,
the Schador Sanders conversation.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
Will take precedent, but the.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
Kelvin Banks con station is more intriguing to me just
because of what we've seen through out since his freshman
year and where he is now.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
When we come back.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
We're gonna run down some of the mock draft things,
and I'm interested to get the opinions of all of
you on Shdor Sanders and this melodrama that has played
out with regard to his draft ability and what kind
of teammate he might be and all of that kind
of stuff. There's been a lot of drama about it,

(12:29):
and we'll get to all of that, and we'll also
take a look at which long Mortons we think also
are going to land an the NFL Draft. So we're
just getting started. We're here up until six fifty to night.
Then we bring you Round Rock Express Baseball. So we're
here at Twin Peaks, here in Round Rock I thirty five,
here at Lewis and Boulevard.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
Come on out.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
They've got food and drink specials and we've got speakers
in here, so no matter where you're sitting in the restaurant,
you can't escape us. You'll be hearing us throughout the
course of the day. We're glad to have you with
us here with the NFL Draft preview special here on
thirteen under the Zone.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
Welcome back to our special NFL Draft show live from
Twin Peaks and Round Rock here's your host's Craig Way,
my cards, Mark Henry and Cameron Parker.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
Glad to have you with us here on this Thursday
afternoon NFL Draft Day.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
All right, so here's here's a question.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
How many Texas Longhorns will wind up in the NFL
Draft and how many might land in the first round.
So let me start with you, Cam, give us your thoughts.
First of all, you can give us a shot in
a dark number on how many long Worns do you
think will land in the NFL Draft? And this doesn't

(13:53):
include like I said, and we were talking about this
about those who might sign a free agent deal who
on draft. So let's just talk about the draft itself.
How many long Horns do you think we'll go in
the draft and how many in.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
The first rounds? First round?

Speaker 5 (14:07):
I think we all agree it'll be three, right, Yeah,
Calvin Banks, Matthew Golden, and Johnny of Baron. I think
Banks will be the first off the board, possibly to
the Raiders. Baron could go early, he could go late,
but I think it'll be a first rounder in Matthew Golden.
He can end up in the Dallas Cowboys, depending on
what happens with the Arizona standout receiver Tito McMillan. But

(14:31):
I think three in the first round overall, Craig, I
would say fourteen. Wow, I think we'll see fourteen Texas
Longhorns drafted over the three days.

Speaker 4 (14:41):
That's interesting that you say that, Cam, because that was
the over under on what we put on the show
this morning.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
On our morning.

Speaker 4 (14:50):
Kickoff show page, we put out there, what's the over
under of thirteen? I said, thirteen Longhorns? Are you gonna
go over? Are you gonna go under? And everybody believes
that the answer should be over when you look at
the talent. I agree with you on the first three guys,
and after that it can go any type of way.

(15:11):
And the one thing that I always go back to
is the eleven that were drafted last year, and it
was the I believe it was either the most or
the second most ever by a Texas Longhorned team. And
I believe that this team or this group of guys
is even more talented. I think that there's an opportunity

(15:33):
for every single one of the Texas Longhorns to have
this opportunity. And no, that's not a Homer conversation. It's
the fact that that many guys got invited to the
NFL combine. With that being said, how many do you
think we'll get drafted first to seven row? That's what
I'm saying. It's gonna be over I think it's gonna.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
Be the fourteen.

Speaker 4 (15:54):
You don't have a set fourteen at least fourteen. I mean,
I think that's the number because the over under was thirteen.
So I'm going I'm going, I'm putting it that fourteen
Texas longhornse get their name called at some point this weekend.
But to you what you said about the free agency,
I think the twenty two. I think everybody has got

(16:14):
an opportunity to enter this draft. We'll have an opportunity
to sign a contract somewhere.

Speaker 5 (16:19):
I think that the lowest number will see drafted probably
about thirteen. Yeah, okay, first third and Broughton's probably they'll
let that cut off line.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
All right, Let me let me get the thoughts of
Olive on it. If tell me who is being left out,
Calvin Banks, Shaddy Barron, Hayden Connor, Chayden blue Quin, you
were's Matthew Golden, Isaiah Bond, David Benda, Gunner, Helm Jake

(16:50):
Majors Gavin Holmes perhaps as well.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
I think Gavin Holmes will be the one out of
that list that you just get. I think Gavin Holmes
would be the one. And the only reason why I
say that is that he doesn't have.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
A lot on film.

Speaker 4 (17:06):
Yeah, he got a chance to play some, but there
wasn't that. Okay, let's look at this moment. I got
a chance to go.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
To the pro day. He stood out.

Speaker 4 (17:16):
He stood out that another guy that I think should
have an opportunity to get drafted, Moe Blackwell, he did
an unbelievable job at his pro day. Now is there
a need We don't know, but he is definitely one
of those guys that we see signed his name on
a contract somewhere.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
And Mark, you mentioned a name before we took air
that I did not mention on that list I had
in front of me. You think there's a decent chance
that Baron Surrell could be taking.

Speaker 4 (17:41):
Baron Currell Man just listening to some of the experts
that they're wondering why he's not more highly regarded. And
if anytime you get like an elite you know, sports writer,
to say, well why does this guy not get a look?
It's something wrong with him. There's nothing wrong with if
you on the University of Texas team Kozu, he's is

(18:05):
not having foolishness.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
Well, An you bring up a good point, because what
that inevitably leads do we hear it every year and
really and truly UHT draft personnel front office guys admit
to this. There can be a paralysis by analysis where
you start looking for all the wrong things because there's
so many good things about somebody.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
Now where is he not good? Where's it?

Speaker 3 (18:30):
And maybe it gets picked apart and maybe it gets
more illuminated, maybe it gets more magnificent.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
Missing. Craig no, I think what.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
They're trying to be is as thorough as they can
and in and in so doing, sometimes maybe go a
little too far on the negative because the positive is
so accented, so they're trying to balance it out and
sometimes maybe pushing the envelope on on a negative point
that really is not much, not much negativity.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
Involve I said fifteen today.

Speaker 4 (19:04):
But you know, during the conversation there's a uh Jaden
Blue situation was brought to my attention. Maybe he's not
u a guy that gets drafted, but he'll definitely be
one of those that is picked up and get a contract.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
But that's when it gets to a need area and
somebody that could fill fill a slot.

Speaker 4 (19:26):
Four three flat like that, that's too fast to not
have on your team.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
Coach coach Cliff Gustamson said it best. He ain't ever
had a bad day.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
And don't take days off speed, don't take days hard.
I mean, he fumbled, but you know what, man, look
at Tiki barber Like came in with a reputation.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
Came in with a reputations from me, Eric b Ene mean,
there's been a bunch of guys and they were able
to teach him how to hold the ball different and
maybe dividends for him.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
Do you think that Eric the Enemy's reputation as a
fumbler has kept him from being a head coach?

Speaker 1 (20:01):
Not at all.

Speaker 5 (20:02):
That's an entirely different That is his personality keeping him
from being a head coach. The one thing hurting Jaden
Bleue besides not being able to hold on the football,
it says this is such a great running back draft
class this season. It's one of the best that we're
going to see in quite some time, and a good
chance we're going to see possibly Ashton genty go in
the first round after I heard last year, guys, the

(20:22):
running backs were dead when we was drafting running backs anymore.
But all of a sudden, the Detroit Lions come in
and show you that, hey, we can draft Jamir Gibbs
in the first round and we're going to have a
darn good offense. So Blue his ability if he can
catch the ball. That's the biggest thing to work on
is his catch, his ability of the block. But he
has a straight line speed, so that's very useful in

(20:43):
special teams, especially with the new kickoff roles. And you know,
with that speed, you know we see now coordinators and geniuses,
masterminds be able to use that all. Like look at
what the Chiefs have done with Xavier Worthy, right, he
was criticized because of his ability has perceived and ability
to make contested catches. Well, don't throw him Lobston, but

(21:04):
give him the ball in the backfield. Let him get
a running start. And how many I mean Worthy scored
with two touchdowns in the Super Bowl. So there's going
to be an offense that Jayden Blue will be selected
and he might go a little bit later, but he
definitely has a very very high ceiling, Greg.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
David, what about Vernon Broughton?

Speaker 3 (21:20):
When I started say, before we get to Vernon bron
and I starts saying, Greg Davis, the former offensive coordinated
a great term for it, and we've all used it
and heard it many many times over the years. In space,
get him the ball in space where it's not so
much in traffic. Vernon Brock is another guy I think
who is a fit guy. If you need and you're
trying to build depth in your defensive line, here's a

(21:40):
guy who shows a lot.

Speaker 1 (21:41):
Of good things on tape.

Speaker 4 (21:43):
Yeah, he's definitely a guy that when you sit back
and you watch the film, and that goes back to
your paralysis by analysis forever in our lives, we've always
heard the eye in the sky don't lie. Whenever you
watch film, you see certain things. And he has been
a guy, Vernon Broughton, that has been able to plug
the hole. He's done everything that you've asked of him.

(22:04):
Did it take a little while for you to get
it all out of them? Absolutely? But that's the development part, right.
It's a different type of mindset and the guys in
front of him just happened to be pretty dark, pretty good. Yeah,
so now you get a chance to see a guy
that now is married, more mature, has a lot on
his mind and on his plate. So now you look

(22:24):
at him and say, can you develop this and be able.

Speaker 1 (22:27):
To be that guy?

Speaker 4 (22:28):
Absolutely, you talked about the intangibles of the outside of it,
but let me give you something. On the field, his
hand movement and his ability to get people's hands off
him was probably the best on that defensive line.

Speaker 1 (22:43):
He played so well in all the Bowl.

Speaker 4 (22:45):
Games, like being able to get penetration as well as
maintain his position on the field. I just I see
a guy like him being able to be picked up
and being a diamond in the rush.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
Look longer defensive lineman had been showing that going back
to Puna Ford. You just signed a big deal with
the Rams, uh to be on with them and and
seeing uh uh, seeing some of them, seeing a Malcolm Brown,
seeing several of the other guys that Malcolm Roach. The
blue Yeah, the blueprint being laid there and the reputation

(23:21):
for the defensive front. All right, But before we break,
is everybody pretty much in agreement that the first Longhorn
to be drafted will be Calvin Banks or you thinking
Jotty Baron or Matthew Golden. What do we think it is?
I think Banks. I'm I'm with Banks. But the way
that all of this can play out, depending on deals.

Speaker 4 (23:39):
And things like that, exactly, I would look at Matthew
Golden or Jodday. I think one of those two, not
the Banks. If Banks is not the first one, it'll
either be Jadday or even Matthew Golden.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
Yeah, I agree.

Speaker 5 (23:52):
I think if the Raiders do not select Banks with
a six pick, then I think it'll be Johnny Baron next. Okay,
before we hit this break crag, I want to give
you guys some trivia here. This is credit to Jonathan
Wells from Burn Origination. So we do see Baron, Banks
and Golden Gold in the first round. It'll be just
the third time the Texas long Corns have had three
players selected in the first round in the NFL Draft.

(24:15):
Can you guys name the two years it happened. I'll
give you a hand. I was not born yet.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
It happened twice. It happened twice. One one was nineteen
eighty two.

Speaker 5 (24:23):
Right, nineteen eighty eighty, nineteen eighty okay, eighty two had
Ken Simms. But outside of that three second round picks,
but only one first round. Okay, all right, but you're
close nineteen eighty, nineteen eighty, and then the other year
nineteen forty two.

Speaker 4 (24:40):
Oh my goodness, Oh wow, you'll have to count me.
You know how you said, I know how you said
that you weren't born. Nobody had, nobody, not even was
born at that time. You know, all right, I wouldn't
even consider it a.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
Co up.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
We'll examine some of the mock drafts and talk about
some of the top picks.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
We'll continue.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
This is our NFL Draft Day special here from Twin
Peaks and Round Rock High thirty five, Lewis Hit and Boulevard.
Come on out and see us, and they got the butt.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
But yeah they got bead Light specials.

Speaker 4 (25:14):
Make sure you get over here, get the draft and
his three ninety nine specials today. So get over here
and enjoy yourself all day, happy hour over here.

Speaker 1 (25:23):
At twin with my eyes. There we go.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
We'll continue on thirteen under the Zone.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
Welcome back to our special NFL Draft show live from
Twin Peaks and Round Rock. Here's your hosts, Craig Way,
My Cards, Mark Henry, and Cameron Parker.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
You know the gods are we have to be careful
of this. We're coming out of a break that you
might catch one of us or more of us with
a mouthful of food because great spread out here. Mark
Henry ordered himself some fabulous wings. He's got the fried
pickles working, the fried jalapenas. You got ribs over there.
I've got a flatbread over here, so does Cam. And you, man,

(26:05):
you just lay waste cards to a cheese steak, didn't you.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (26:09):
I did.

Speaker 4 (26:09):
It was the Philly or the Texano cheese.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
Glad to get rid of that.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
Man.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
I wasn't waiting around with that, you know.

Speaker 4 (26:16):
Yeah, I've been on the road a lot in my day,
so you know how to get things done and keep
it moving.

Speaker 3 (26:21):
Oh yeah, absolutely all right, So we keep moving along here.
With regard to the NFL draft in the preview, I
wanted to take a look because we've been talking about
who might go wearing all this examined, like what's some
of the experts say. We've all pulled up different mic drafts,
and I just go through some of these picks here

(26:43):
and get everybody's thoughts on this. Is it any doubt
in anybody's mind? That anybody other than cam Ward would
be the first round pick.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
Then they've confused everybody because all the betting sites and
everything that's involved with it directly say cam Ward, and
then everybody else is a coin flip.

Speaker 3 (27:05):
Yeah, yeah, all right, So I mean nobody, nobody's even
seen a mock draft that that doesn't have cam Ward is.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
The number one. I haven't, okay, uh.

Speaker 3 (27:15):
And then and and then we get to number two,
and it's most everybody I think sees Travis Hunter coming
off or to Cleveland. However, I think he might be
the most intriguing picking the draft because of his professed
desire to play on both sides of the football. And

(27:37):
so then you get into personnel people and coaches.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
Do they want a guy like that?

Speaker 3 (27:42):
Everybody wants a guy who's capable of doing it, but
do they want a guy who could do it? And
and Travis Hunter said he can't imagine playing pro football
without playing both sides of the ball.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
Money changes that, money changes it.

Speaker 4 (27:55):
And also like the respect for the leadership. Yeah, Like
that's one of the reasons why I'm loving Craig. I'm
loving what's going on with Aaron Glen Is he is
demanding that people do the right thing.

Speaker 1 (28:11):
And on the flip side of that coin, like I'm.

Speaker 4 (28:14):
Having a problem with Tomlin, Like I've never had a
problem with him as a coach before, but he's showing
signs of weakness and it's gonna get him fired because
waiting on a player, letting somebody else dictate how you
operate your team is like unheard of as a.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
Coach, you a head.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
Coach and that and that does have people mystified as
to this waiting game. How long are the Steelers willing
to wait for Aaron Rodgers to make up his mind
to do this, and how it affects what they do. Well,
here we are on draft day and there's still no
decision from Aaron Rodgers. So the trickle down come winds

(28:56):
up affecting the Steelers and how they pick.

Speaker 4 (28:58):
Well, here's here's one of the biggest things for me.
When you start to look at how this draft is
gonna play out, you start seeing how people are going
to move to your point. If he's gonna make a
move and he's not gonna be the guy that signed
with them, then they start moving around or that quarterback
falls to him. Maybe they've already got their backup play
and maybe that's who Mike Tomlin is. Maybe Mike Tomlin's

(29:21):
not even thinking.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
About Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 4 (29:24):
Maybe he's had that conversation with him and was like,
all right, man, we understand that this isn't George cup
of Tea Jackson Dark. You still have why is Tyler
Shuck getting so much love now in this draft process?
And of course Shadoor Sanders, He's already had conversations with Shador.
He said that the conversations were outstanding. And Mike Tomlin

(29:47):
doesn't buy into the conversation piece of what others think.
He is who he is and he believes in him.
Who's gonna tell him no. But getting back to the
top of this draft that where you were talking about
Rabits Hunter and being able to play both positions.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
The one thing that is kind of not being.

Speaker 4 (30:05):
Talked about is the physicality of being able to play
a cornerback position in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (30:10):
I'm not saying he can't do it, but.

Speaker 4 (30:12):
He is slight and if you have to come up
and make a hit on one of them big running backs
that is coming downhill there might make you get over
to the office.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
They're gonna train Oh for sure.

Speaker 4 (30:23):
I mean especially yeah, yeah, sweeps outside. They're gonna they're
gonna do everything they can to get him in a
situation where he has to come up and tackle.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
All right, So it brings us to.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
The first kind of hip scratching situation at number three
is the Giants, and most of the mocks project him
to go for Abdol Carter from Penn State. He d
Rusher that said that said there is interest the way
it's been reported that the Giants if they're that if
failing to make a deal for trap this hunter, that

(31:00):
the Giant may take the flyer and go for Schador Sanders,
or or go after Aaron Rodgers. Because Rogers has said
how much he likes Brian Dable, so you know.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
That still has his place in New York too.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
Yeah, So it adds the intrigue to this, all wrapped
around when they're on the clock and they got ten
minutes to make their choice.

Speaker 4 (31:26):
My grandmother always said, if you don't have nothing good
to say, I don't say nothing at all. That's how
I feel about Aaron Rodgers right now.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
You know, I've never got a chance to ask you
accept the problem with that mar because he's never had
anything good to.

Speaker 4 (31:38):
Say, and I'm talking about me about him, Okay, I
feel like.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
That guy will make you cuss by accident. Yeah, I
don't like him.

Speaker 4 (31:49):
I don't like nothing that he stands for right now,
the way that he's he wants people to gravel for him.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
And he cried like a little baby on.

Speaker 4 (32:01):
That interview when Aaron Glen asked him do you want
to play football? And he said, well, I mean, we
can talk about it. Aaron Glen got up, went to
the general manager down the hall and said, come in the.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
Room, let's talk about it.

Speaker 4 (32:16):
We're going to go a different direction. Yeah, because he
doesn't want to play football.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
Because he would have said yes if he if he answers, yeah.

Speaker 4 (32:23):
You bet he would have. He he would have. He
would have definitely said, well we want you to play.

Speaker 5 (32:29):
And he's also waiting to see what these teams do.
I mean, the reason why he hasn't sound anybody. He
wants to see. Okay, does Pittsburgh take Shador in the
first round? Do the Giants trade up for cam Mood?
He wants to see what is option ours because Aaron Rodgers,
obviously at his age, he wants to be the starting quarterback.
But I mean, you remember how it was with Jordan
Love when the Packers drafted Jordan Love out of Utah

(32:51):
State and he was asked about, you know, mentoring him
and shepherding him, and at Rodgers you know said the
same thing that Brett Fox at the media when he
was asked about mentoring Aaron Rogers. So he has no
interest in going to a team, in being the Kirk
cousins of the Michael Pennix, whether it's Shador, whether it's
Tyler Shuck, whoever it may be.

Speaker 4 (33:09):
So let me ask you this, because at one point
there was legend to believe that he may have been
an La Ram last year's squad. They didn't know what
they were going to do with Matthew Stafford. There was
moments where he wanted to come back to the area.
How would you have felt, because I've never asked you
about your thoughts on Aaron Rodgers, why would you have

(33:29):
felt if you'd have been your quarterback gripped with fear?

Speaker 3 (33:32):
That the way I thought about it as a Rams fan,
I was like, oh gosh. And everything they went through
to get Matthew Stafford in for him to lead them
to the promised Land just as Sean McVay had.

Speaker 1 (33:43):
Vision, and it happened, and they and they went all
in that.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
Year and obviously and they got their Super Bowl and
then and then the injuries have taken place and now
he's kind of rebuilding. But to everybody's utter amazement, he
did it defensively correct last year.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
So uh.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
And then the whole thing was where they're going to
we're going to keep Stafford. Well, you know, obviously it
ended up working out that way, but they weren't going
to be able to keep both Stafford and Cooper Cup.
Somebody was gonna have to go. Well, now that Puka
Nakua has emerged, now at the tight end spot has emerged, Uh,
DeMarcus Robinson, They've they've got other targets. And that's why

(34:18):
as much as they hated it, because he's a fan favorite.
We're looking at you, Dallas Mavericks, a fan favorite. But
but it wasn't as bad a deal for them to
let Cooper Cup go through free agency then what the
Mavericks did and flat out trading Luka Dancic. So that's
so yes, to answer your question, I was really really

(34:41):
hoping it would not happen.

Speaker 1 (34:42):
I'm gonna have to come on your show next week, okay.

Speaker 4 (34:45):
Because like there's we just touched on three things that
I would love to just sit here and pick your
brain about and get your opinion on, one of which
is the Luka Donnas saga.

Speaker 1 (34:57):
Oh yeah, but it's a saga. Get to this.

Speaker 4 (35:02):
Aaron is not the guy I would go cousins before.
I would just go ahead and and Harj and I
talked about it, would it be worth just paying them?

Speaker 1 (35:13):
They wanted twenty million.

Speaker 4 (35:14):
Dollars to go with whatever situation happened, because they want conversation.

Speaker 1 (35:21):
I wouldn't give twenty million.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
I might give ten yeah, yeah, you know, and we
cut it in half.

Speaker 1 (35:27):
Can can they make deals like that?

Speaker 4 (35:30):
Because I don't see myself as a general manager allocating
twenty million dollars of my cap to go to somebody
where it really looks like a rental, because I think
that the real money is in go ahead and lose
and then be in the arch manih conversation.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
Well, and that's why the Rams let Cooper Cup go.
There was a ten million dollar difference, right, and that's
and that's why and that's why they let him go.
And I think they knew he was going to sign with Seattle.
He's from Washington State. He grew up a Seahawks man.
Did he go to Washington?

Speaker 1 (36:05):
He went, He went to Eastern Washington.

Speaker 3 (36:07):
So you knew you're gonna have to still deal with
him twice a year. But they knew that was gonna
be happening. That was gonna be the price of doing business.
All right, We've got more to come. We're gonna wrap
up hour number one.

Speaker 1 (36:19):
Second hour.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
We're gonna hear some opinions of those who have gone
through this and where it all stands. We'll do that
when we continue with our NFL Draft Day special from
Twin Peaks here in Round Rock I thirty five at
Lewis Henna Boulevard. Here, I'm thirteen under the zone.

Speaker 2 (36:37):
Welcome back to our special NFL Draft show live from
Twin Peaks and Round Rock. Here's your hosts, Craig Way,
Mike Cars, Mark Henray, and Cameron Parker.

Speaker 3 (36:52):
Glad to have you with us here on this Thursday
afternoon from Twin Peaks and Round Rock I thirty five
at Lewis Henna Boulevard. As Hardball Harts would say, take
advantage of that three ninety nine, but Bud Life Special exactly.

Speaker 4 (37:05):
Get on over here and enjoy yourself because, like you said, eats,
drinks and scenic views.

Speaker 3 (37:11):
All of that here in the building is as well
as us, and I'm glad to have you with us
this afternoon. Okay, we we were rolling through some of
the top ten off of this and here's another guy
that I think is and Cam brought it up a
little bit.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
I think is an intriguing.

Speaker 3 (37:32):
Player, an intriguing name, if only because of his position,
and that's Ashton Genty. And in the first segment of
next hour, I'm going to bring up some other names
that will have every I know it's going to make
Mark Henry former Silsby Tiger that he is very very
proud when I bring this up the next tower. But

(37:53):
in the meantime, because of gent, because of his production,
this is probably the most prolific example of personnel people
going the size is good enough for us.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
We could take him when we could go with it.

Speaker 4 (38:09):
Absolutely And then you sit here and you know, Cam
brought it up earlier. He talked about Jamier Gibbs, what
about Jon Robinson and what he was able to do
when he got drafted pretty high, and folks were kind
of trying to figure out why would you take a
running back that high.

Speaker 3 (38:22):
It's all about, by the way, in both cases what
you just mentioned. One of the things that helped both
of those running backs, Gibbs and Bijon is having another back.
David Montgomery huge absolutely involved with that. And then what
they have with Bijon in Atlanta. Having complementary backs helps.

Speaker 4 (38:39):
And these guys can both catch the ball out of
the backfield too, so there's ways to get them the ball.
And guess what Greg Davis's word in Spain in Spain
and that's what those guys are so talented that and
Ashton Genty is another guy that can catch the ball
out of the backfield. He's very productive. And remember he's
in Boise State. Think about what he's gonna get whatever

(39:01):
team he goes to, and the opportunities that people have
already probably drawn up the plays to try to get
him the football.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
This is a.

Speaker 4 (39:10):
Very interesting draft when you look at him, but then
you go down the line and you start to look
at some of the running backs that are out there
that in any other draft you probably will look at
him a little bit different. But now like a Trayveon
Henderson who we saw up close and personal against Texas
in the ball game. And now you look at todge Brooks.

(39:31):
Nobody's talking about todge Brooks and his predictivity that he had.
And this is another guy, but John Jenkins junkins off
that Ohio State team as well. So there's so much
that can be broken down when you start to look
at the later rounds after you get past Ashton.

Speaker 3 (39:48):
Gents, Listen, we were just talking about me and my
Rams fandom. I'm hoping it it's hope and knocking on
wood because I've seen a couple of mock drafts that
have this guy of available at twenty six on the
Rams pick.

Speaker 1 (40:01):
If Amar and Hampton is there, yes, yeah, that's what
I'm thinking.

Speaker 3 (40:05):
Jump all over that when it comes that mark. You'll
like this as well. If Ashton genty last to the
fifth pick, and he might, there's a decent if the
Patriots don't go for him, and they're they're really weighing
a lot of options. But if he lasts to that,
and I don't think he'll last below five, I think
the Jaguars are jump all over him. If if he's
still there at five, as evidenced by the fact that

(40:27):
their new general manager, James Gladstone, has used the phrase
you'll like this phrase.

Speaker 1 (40:33):
Intangibly rich.

Speaker 3 (40:37):
In talking about it. Intangibly rich, that's what they that's
what they want to have. And I think that's what
everybody feels about Ashton Genty, that he is intangibly.

Speaker 4 (40:48):
He has so many intangibles, like he's a fun loving
guy that you know, he's never been a problem. He
comes from a military family, like he wants to be
great off the field, as will As Honing.

Speaker 3 (41:01):
We're gonna have more on him, and we're gonna have
more on the Lone Star State and the Texas Long warns.
It's our NFL Draft special from Twin Peaks I thirty
five here in Round Rock.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
I'm thirteen hunder the Zone.

Speaker 2 (41:15):
Thirteen hundred of the Zone presents a special NFL Draft
show live from Twin Peaks in Round Rock. Here's your hosts,
Craig Way, My Carge, Mark Henry, and Cameron Parker, our.

Speaker 3 (41:31):
Number two of our four hour and fifteen minutes Draft
a extravagance and coming away from Twin Peaks here in
Round Rock at I thirty five and Lewis and Boulevard.
Glad to have you with us this afternoon listening and
if you're gonna come on out, like I said, we're
Europe till just prior to seven o'clock. Craig, Wayne, Mike Hardball, Harch,
Mark Henry, and also Cameron Parker. Glad to have you

(41:54):
with us this afternoon as we get you ready for
the NFL Draft, because the picks start just after seven o'clock.
Put it this way, that's when the Tennessee Titans go
on the clock. And while we said last hour that
most folks are expecting the Titans to go.

Speaker 1 (42:12):
For cam Ward.

Speaker 3 (42:14):
Cam Parker, you're hearing that there's still a lot of
movement of foot that the Giants may try to be
shall we say, generous enough in making a swap to
try to move.

Speaker 1 (42:28):
Into that one spot. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (42:29):
ESPN reporting that the most aggressive team in terms of
trying to take that number one spot from Tennessee has
actually been the New York Giants, who do have the
number three pick at Jeff Darlington just reporting that just
right now in ESPN. But Giants source did tell Darlington
that they were never moving off the pick.

Speaker 1 (42:46):
So that tells us two things.

Speaker 5 (42:48):
At one the Giants do like a quarterback that they
actually like cam Mord. For the Titans like cam Mordon.
They had the number one overall picks, so how are
you going to trade that? So I think lightly what
we'll see from the New York Giants in this draft
is they'll take a duel Carter at three, pair him
up with Keevon Thibodeau, which is going to be a nasty,
nasty pass rush for years to come to the NFC East.

(43:09):
And then if they do like Shador Sanders or maybe
it's Tyler Shuck or somebody else, then they could likely
trade up in the first round. We know one thing
for sure, the last team in the first round that
has a pig that could take a quarterback will be
the Steelers of twenty one. After that, none of those
teams from twenty two to thirty two are looking at
a quarterback. So the pending on what happens with fish

(43:31):
round anyway, not in the first round. I think what
happens with with Pittsburgh if they take Shador Sanders or
if it's somebody else. But after that then we'll see
if it's the Saints trading up, maybe Pittsburgh going back
in the first round.

Speaker 1 (43:43):
Could it be the Giants moving up?

Speaker 5 (43:45):
That's when we'll see how that quarterback situation will play out,
because I think we all agree that it'll be cam More.
It will be the first quarterback off the board at
number one overall. But then the rest we could see.
We're in a lot of smoke about Jackson dark and
a report today was that there's no way he falls
out of the first round. So maybe Jackson dart to
Pittsburgh at twenty one could be the likely scenario.

Speaker 1 (44:06):
Why shot? Why Tyler? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (44:09):
Why? Because I mean you look at the quarterbacks that
are the most dynamic in NFL, Lamar Jackson being number one,
and then you got Jalen and in the new quarterback
at Washington right Like, all of those are athletic, extremely
explosive quarterbacks. I would go Jalen Milroe before I went Shaw.

Speaker 5 (44:32):
Well, I think the thing with Tyler Shuck is that
he's twenty six years old.

Speaker 1 (44:36):
He has a little bit more experience. So the funny
thing is you can wear cars already. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (44:40):
The funny thing is this, you know he was in
college for six seven years, but he really only played
one season of college football because of his injuries. The
reason why he's going up Mark Henry is because this
is probably the worst quarterback draft class we had in
quite some time. Because Milroe he's got He's very athletic,
but I don't see him being as your everyday starter
in the football league. And outside of you know, Dart

(45:03):
and Kim mord, it's a lot of guys with questions.
You know, even with Quinn. Can Quinn stay healthy? That's
his biggest question, Chuck ask questions. He's twenty six years old.
You know, in three years he might be ready to retire.

Speaker 4 (45:14):
If they take Tyler Shuck over Quinn, you or somebody
needs to be fired. I'm just not a big fan
of him. We got a chance to see him. We
saw him at Oregon. We got a chance to watch
him when he was at Texas Tech whenever he could
get on the field.

Speaker 1 (45:25):
Got a chance to watch him at Louisville. He was
not that effective.

Speaker 4 (45:30):
And if again we go back to this conversation, if
you're going to watch tape and you're going to tell
me that the critique is such the eye in the
sky doesn't lie. Shador Sanders completed seventy four percent of
his passes. I don't care if he's throwing sideline the
sideline bubble screens or.

Speaker 1 (45:51):
Anything like that. You have to complete the past.

Speaker 4 (45:54):
And if we're going to that number, how are we
even questioning some of the things.

Speaker 1 (45:59):
That is out there.

Speaker 4 (46:00):
If the film is what we want to go through.

Speaker 3 (46:03):
Right, true, Maybe maybe Tyler Shuck's problems. Yeah, maybe Tyler
Shuck's produbum is not being a Texas high school football product.
It is because our friends of Dave Campbell's Texas Football
magazine and put a list together of which Texas high
school football players former former Texas high school football players

(46:23):
will go in this year's NFL draft. We start right
at the top of number one. Cam Ward former West
Columbia roughneck you know is going to go, and then
other ones we talked about Ashton genty uh from Frisco
loan star who played at Boise State. Shuder Sanders did

(46:46):
play at Trinity Christian in Uh in Addison. He was
also at Prime Prep Academy that did not work out there.
The fourth highest pick they have coming being a Texas
high school football is Jatte Barron from Connolly obviously, and
then Kelvin Banks right behind him at five and then

(47:07):
Matthew Golden right behind them at six. Of course he
was from clein Kane UH and and Banks of course
was from Summer Creek. Elijah Arroyo, Frisco Independence tight end
from Miami at seven. This is the ranking the Texas
high school football products. Eighth rank product is Donovan Jackson,

(47:28):
the offensive line from Ohio State from bel Air Episcopal
in Houston. Alfred Collins checks in at number nine out
of Cedar Creek obviously. Number ten is Nick Gorton UH
from Texas A and M and from Bryan and then
as they listed the best of the rest, Land and
Jackson Vermarkansas played at Pleasant Grove in Texas and Cam Williams.

(47:51):
We hadn't talked about Cam Williams, but you know, being
from Duncanville in Texas. Longhorn Jalen Milroe listed as the
thirteenth best dc TF for star Shamar Turner. We all
saw Princely Umaman Lalan from from Manor. Billy Bowman Junior

(48:12):
we saw him, of course, played for Oklahoma. Savion Williams
from TCU played at Marshall Andrew mccooba from lbj gwinn
Ewers Vernon Broughton, Jayden Blue.

Speaker 1 (48:24):
Uh, those those are the.

Speaker 3 (48:25):
Ones in a lot a lot of Horns and TODs
Brooks listed twenty fourth overall. There.

Speaker 2 (48:32):
R J.

Speaker 3 (48:33):
Mickens from South lak Carroll played at Clemson with Andrew
mccoba jaquinnin Jackson. He was a Duncanville quarterback. Tore the
knee up was originally a Texas Loghorn, went to Oregon,
then to Utah and and and then Arkansas and so
then and then Hayden Connor is listed, Seth Hennigan from

(48:54):
Denton Ryan who's a Memphis quarterback, and Jake Majors listed
at number thirty two out of those top thirty to
long worn. So a lot of a lot of Texas
high school football products with huge football pedigrees that are
expected to go in this NFL.

Speaker 1 (49:08):
A lot from a lot of Longhorns. Would he say fourteen? Yep,
maybe that's team. That's a really, really good stat that.

Speaker 4 (49:16):
You should start with the crew recruiting guys. We want
to recruit textas I want we want you to come here. God,
that'd be so easy. What a goods job? So let
me ask you this. You know the D is for Dallas. Yeah,
not a Dallas Cowboy fan at this particular moment. But

(49:36):
if the Cowboys select with the number twelve pick Matthew Golden,
are you back, cam Are you back?

Speaker 1 (49:46):
Cam Man? I leaned in. I leaned in. I'm excited
about this. I don't think I'll be back just yet.
Just live there at the Balloons. I'm not. Look, we can't.

Speaker 4 (49:56):
We're not getting rid of Jerry, so that's not gonna
have So is that the thing that's the biggest thing
right now?

Speaker 1 (50:04):
Jerry and Steven?

Speaker 5 (50:05):
I think those two guys, those two guys, which in all,
they're not going anywhere anytime soon. So it's just kind
of sit back and enjoy the soap proper that is
the Star and the Dallas Cowboys. I think, honestly, at
twelve guys, I think it's gonna be uh Teter Roy
McMillan will be their draft pick if he's there. If
he's not there, I could see Dallas possibly moving down

(50:27):
in the first round.

Speaker 3 (50:28):
And you did say if they took McMillan, you would
like that pick.

Speaker 5 (50:32):
I think so too. I love Matthew Golden, fantastic route runner. Obviously,
he made play after play for Texas fourth and thirteen
will go down in the annals of history for Texas
long Orn football. But McMillan has upsides there. He's six
foot four, he's a specimen. He can go up and
get the ball in. You know, you think about it too, Okay,
if something happens to Ceedee Lamb, can McMillan be your
number one receiver?

Speaker 1 (50:52):
And I think he can. But one thing's for sure.

Speaker 5 (50:54):
I mean, looking at the Cowboys receiving Boar their death chart,
it's an absolute joke, and some of the guys going,
who Parris Campbell's.

Speaker 1 (51:01):
Gonna be the guy this year? I remember him in
fantasy football ten years ago, so it's got to be receiver.
It'll stay.

Speaker 5 (51:08):
I think if McMillan doesn't go before Dallas, I think
he'll be the pick. But if he does go, like
if the Raiders decide to go receiver with McMillan, or
the Saints or the Jaguars, then I think you could
see the Cowboys possibly moving down and then trying to
grab either Matthew Golden a little bit late in that
first round or a different receiver.

Speaker 4 (51:27):
Can I ask you a question, of course, Mark Henry.

Speaker 1 (51:30):
What do you think would happen?

Speaker 4 (51:32):
If Golden lined it up at the Z and now
you have Cede Lamb at X, opposite of what he
normally plays, and you have to go cover two on
the side of Golden to keep him from going deep.
What Cede Lamb is going to have the whole in
between the hash marks to operate. You're gonna have to

(51:54):
deploy a linebacker to drop back.

Speaker 1 (51:58):
Just to be able to help out. Now the Cowboys
can run the ball again, Well, I agree, Well, who's
their running back to. That's the other part to another issue.

Speaker 3 (52:06):
And I would say this, I can't see opposing defenses
committing two to a rookie wide receiver and leaving single
coverage on CD.

Speaker 1 (52:16):
I think it'd be the other way around if they
did it.

Speaker 3 (52:18):
But in any event, to his point, in your point
and your point, maybe you can run the ball if
you got the right guy running the ball.

Speaker 4 (52:26):
I had no idea that Golden was as fast as
he is. I just thought that it was his I'm like, man,
what a good route runner. Yeah, the guy ran a
four to two. There's like four people in the NFL
running four two.

Speaker 1 (52:40):
Listen. You know I.

Speaker 3 (52:44):
Got to know Quinn you Weres when he was in
high school called the state championship game he played in
in all the games he played at Texas Love Quinn,
I will always remember four, ten, thirteen, But I will
also also remember the guy who caught the pass on
the fourth and thirteen that's golden and gold and made
a spectacular gram in Nashville against against Vanderbilt in the
corner of the end.

Speaker 1 (53:04):
So his boss can read.

Speaker 4 (53:07):
Not just the fact that he was a great athlete,
is that he read that in him at Quinn communicated.

Speaker 3 (53:13):
His ball skills, his football IQ, and his speed make
him a first round draft pick coming up. Speaking of
the draft, Mike Card to Mark Henry had a conversation
with Charles Davis, the Fox NFL analysts, Always entertaining, always informative.

(53:33):
We'll get his thoughts on tonight's NFL Draft.

Speaker 1 (53:37):
We about you.

Speaker 3 (53:37):
Come on out here to Twin Peaks. I thirty five,
Lewis hen of Boulevard, here in Round Rock. We're here
all the way up till just prior to seven o'clock
with our NFL Draft a preview special. I'm thirteen under
the Zone.

Speaker 2 (53:50):
Welcome back to our special NFL Draft show live from
Twin Peaks and Round Rock. Here's your hosts, Craig Way,
Mike cars, Mark, Henry Any, Cameron Parker.

Speaker 3 (54:04):
One of the great things about Draft Day is that, uh,
when you get out here, you start looking at what
they have on the big screens and their big run
up the previous one. First of all, anybody here other
than me been to lambeau Field before.

Speaker 1 (54:19):
I have not.

Speaker 3 (54:21):
Now I've been to lambeau Field, but not to see
a Packer game. I saw Billy Joel concert. It's that's
a little bit different.

Speaker 1 (54:26):
I did. I didn't see it there.

Speaker 3 (54:27):
But the speaking of environment, such a great environment for
an NFL game.

Speaker 1 (54:30):
An unbelievable environment.

Speaker 4 (54:32):
The cold is that well, no second second cold as
I think I ever been in my life. And and
you going for all those that have never been, I'm
gonna describe it like this. Imagine Shreveport, Louisiana with the
super Dome in it and you can go to a

(54:53):
pro football game. It's such a small community, you. Lambeau
is not a big place. I mean I parked my car.

Speaker 3 (55:00):
In some of these yard when I went to the concert. Yeah,
what's yeah, they're doing that right now. They're letting people
park in their yard.

Speaker 1 (55:07):
Yeah. About one hundred dollars. Yeah, yeah, I think I
did it. I think it was going to a game.

Speaker 3 (55:12):
Yeah, I think it was thirty bucks for me to
park to go to the concert there. It was thirty
dollars right across the street. So I'll do that.

Speaker 1 (55:19):
Thirty bucks. I've parke with that.

Speaker 3 (55:21):
Uh but yeah, I could imagine him going full on
Jerry Jones here and trying to get one hundred dollars.

Speaker 1 (55:27):
For parking, No doubt I could see that. I could
see that.

Speaker 3 (55:29):
But it's a great and I think, by the way,
this was a great move by the NFL to move
the draft around. And it was great in the in
the days, you know, with the Marriott Marquee. I did
two draft shows back in the early nineties when I
was a KRLD there and it was at the balcony
and overlooking it there and uh, you know, and Pete
Roselle was was the commissioner, and then it was Paul tagleyboo.

(55:52):
I mean that was all good. But I think what
they've done now in moving the draft around is really cool.
I think it is.

Speaker 4 (55:57):
It's one of those awesome, awesome exps aeriances for all
those that get a chance to go just like when
it was in Dallas. It was a crazy, crazy time
as well. The people were very happy at the fact
that they just got a Hiatt place. Like in Green Bay.
This was probably three years ago. Four years ago.

Speaker 3 (56:16):
They're pumped up about having that Hiatt place.

Speaker 4 (56:19):
They were so excited about the new growth of the city. So,
I mean it's been three years, maybe it's you know,
grown a lot more might have.

Speaker 3 (56:30):
The interest has certainly grown in the NFL draft, and
Mike Hart, you you had the opportunity and Mark did
to visit with a gentleman of some renown who knows
a thing or two about the NFL and pro football
and certainly the draft process.

Speaker 1 (56:45):
No doubt.

Speaker 4 (56:45):
This morning, we were fortunate enough to have Charles Davis
of CBS Sports, who will be taking over and we'll
mention that at the end taking over for Gary Donaldson
and Danielson excuse me, as the lead analyst on the
big games moving forward. So it's gonna be really exciting.
And he was really excited about the draft, So we

(57:08):
went right into it this morning on the morning kickoff.

Speaker 1 (57:12):
How many Longhorns do you have going in the first round? Oh?

Speaker 6 (57:16):
Boy, let's see gold golden in the receiver, banks, the
offensive tackle. Let's see who else do we have? Bear
in the corner? Think, I think that's what I think.

(57:36):
So that's what we have, and then plenty more to
come as as as the days move on.

Speaker 4 (57:41):
So as you go through your mock breakdown and you've
looked at all of these players, are you're looking at
obviously the fit for whichever team needs that type of player.
But what else goes into it when you start to
break it all down.

Speaker 6 (58:00):
Yeah, fit, you're right about that fits a big part
of it. Another huge part of it is just how
good are they?

Speaker 1 (58:05):
Right?

Speaker 6 (58:05):
If they're just really good, sometimes you just bypass and
fit and you have to have that player on your team.

Speaker 1 (58:12):
You know.

Speaker 6 (58:12):
So the the old idea that what we got to
player pretty similar to him.

Speaker 1 (58:18):
You know. Let's take someone else.

Speaker 6 (58:20):
The most glaring example, of course, and we'll go down
in sports history until the world ends, is the Portland
Trailblazer was passing on Michael Jordan because they had Clyde
Drexler and taking Sam Bouie. Very unfair to Sam who
ended up having a rough career because of leg injuries
and what have you. But it's just an example of it.

(58:41):
Doesn't matter how good that guy is. If there's another
guy who's really good, you need to add him to
your team. So sometimes you just do. That's where we
always here. You always heard that term best player available.

Speaker 1 (58:50):
That's what that means. Hey, you that's the best guy
on the.

Speaker 6 (58:52):
Board, as the most highly rated player, we have put
him on the team and let's figure it out from there.

Speaker 1 (58:57):
So that's a big part that goes into it as well,
mister Davis.

Speaker 4 (59:01):
I always subscribe to the theory that sometimes you got
to give up a lot to get a lot, And
I would have Travis Hunter on my team if I
had to give away three draft picks, I gotta have him.
He just he's too valuable, too complimentary area of peace

(59:23):
to not have on your team. What's your opinion on
his draft status and worth?

Speaker 1 (59:32):
See, I think he's the best player in the draft.

Speaker 6 (59:34):
I mean, when you start rating them, quarterbacks have a
different category because they're so darn valuable. So cam Ward
may go of number one. We expect to go number
one overall to Tennessee Titans. But I don't think there's
any draft room in the NFL any of thirty two
teams they would have cam Ward listed as the top
player in the draft doesn't mean he's a bad player.

Speaker 1 (59:56):
He's an excellent player.

Speaker 6 (59:58):
Just means that Travis Hunter would pay. You know, I
think if we went into the draft rooms across the board,
Travis Hunter is going to be number one on plenty
of them. There may be some Abdual Carter's number one
from Penn State. Those are probably the top two players
in the running for it. Cam wod would be the
number one quarterback, but not the number one overall rated player. Look,

(01:00:19):
Travis Hunter, there's nothing he can't do. And the interesting
part about it is he played about one hundred and
fifteen plays per game playing offense and defense. I'm pretty
sure that in the beginning of his NFL career he
won't do anything close to that. But at some point
I do expect him to be a true two way

(01:00:39):
player in the NFL. I just think he's got to
add some maturity in terms of age.

Speaker 1 (01:00:45):
Body. You know, you would call grown man's strength mark right.

Speaker 6 (01:00:51):
It's yeah, It's just it's not just rolling out there
and hitting the weight room and all that, because at
his age, weight will often melt off of a player
like that. Okay, I suspect he played last year in
the high one hundred and seventy pounds.

Speaker 1 (01:01:07):
That's not gonna work in the NFL.

Speaker 6 (01:01:09):
When you got to come up and hit Derrick Henry
all the time, that's gonna change things for you. I
think in a couple of years, when that weight settles
on you and you can carry it and you're not
worried about losing it through a season, you keep sprinkling
in more and more on both sides, and then I
think we'll get a chance to see that true two
way player.

Speaker 1 (01:01:28):
I just don't expect to see it in the beginning.

Speaker 6 (01:01:29):
And I do think Cleveland's gonna take him at two
and their GM is already announced. He'll probably play offense
first for them, and they'll sprinkle in defense. If something
happens and someone else gets him, they may want to
play defense first and sprinkling offense. But I think within
the season or two we may get our chance to say, hey, Travis.

Speaker 1 (01:01:48):
Henry's just not leaving the field.

Speaker 6 (01:01:50):
That's gonna be Travis Hunters just not leaving the field,
and that will be fun for the NFL.

Speaker 4 (01:01:56):
So my second thing is, what is the most outlandish
that you think is gonna happen trade wise, movement wise
in his draft.

Speaker 1 (01:02:08):
I think that there's gonna be a major roar.

Speaker 6 (01:02:12):
When Ashton genty comes off the board, maybe at five
to Jacksonville instead of six to the Raiders, because six
to the Raiders has kind of been talked about a
long time now, and Jacksonville has lately popped up with that.
The second thing is gonna be what happens with the
tight ends Tyler Warren and Colston Loveland. Most people, of course,

(01:02:34):
have seen Warren and the incredible things he has done.
I know there's some people that like Loveland better. Wouldn't
that be wild if Lovelan went ahead of Warren? But last,
but not least, I think the quarterbacks after cam Ward
maybe bypassed in the top ten picks, Shadora Sanders, Jackson Dart,
I think are the primary guys that no one takes them.

Speaker 1 (01:02:58):
At that point.

Speaker 6 (01:02:59):
And now we're starting to go, okay, well, what's gonna
happen here is at Pittsburgh at twenty one. We may
get all the way down and towards twenty maybe even
into the twenties, and then we may get a couple
of trades where like the Giants trade back into the
first round, and if.

Speaker 1 (01:03:14):
They do, I think they're gonna take Jackson Dart instead
of Shador Sanders. Whoa.

Speaker 6 (01:03:19):
And if Cleveland trades back into the first round, I
think that they would come back againt shad Door Sanders.
So we shall see how that goes if somebody makes
the trade to come back in or are they waiting
to the top of the second round, which I'm not
sure they're able to do without someone trying to come
in and snatch one of these guys. But what if
we in the first night and let's say one quarterback

(01:03:42):
is taken and Shad Door Sanders is in one of them.
That would be leaving there with an incredible story because
we all know about Shador, we know how good he is,
we know who he is. He is probably the face
of this draft, even though cam Ward's gonna go number
one at the top.

Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
No doubt about it.

Speaker 4 (01:04:01):
We're talking to Charles Davis of CBS, and Charles, you know,
those are some wild, wild scenarios and I wouldn't be
shocked if any of those continue to happen this weekend.
But my question for you is, why is it that
Kelvin Banks continues to be one of those guys that

(01:04:22):
people look at and think that he's going to fall.

Speaker 1 (01:04:25):
Everybody that he's been up against.

Speaker 4 (01:04:27):
All the number one first round picks that went before
in the previous draft, he's stuffed. But yet, yeah, he's
still being questioned. I just don't understand it, and maybe
I'm too close to it.

Speaker 1 (01:04:41):
No, No, I don't think you're too close to it.
And it's hard to understand when you look at it.

Speaker 6 (01:04:46):
To me, it's like all just trying to evaluate pass rushers,
and you would think that in college would be fairly easy, right,
that guy's getting twelve fifteen zacks, you know, because a
great pass rusher in college often playing against guys who
are going to be tax accountants, not NFL players, so
they're going to dominate them and blow them away.

Speaker 1 (01:05:07):
Yet when you.

Speaker 6 (01:05:08):
Look up a lot of these pass rushers don't have
big sack numbers in college. Daneil Hunter is one of
the great pass rushers in NFL histories, over one hundred
sacks I think in his career.

Speaker 1 (01:05:18):
He had four and a half in his entire career
at LSU.

Speaker 6 (01:05:22):
I mean had the account for that Chop Robinson coming
out last year first round, picked in Miami at four
and a half Sackson last year at Penn State Adafeo
Way when he's known as Jason Oway at Penn State.

Speaker 1 (01:05:32):
His last year Penn State had zero sacks, still win
the first round.

Speaker 6 (01:05:36):
You know, Darron Walker did not big sack numbers at
Georgia has been back to backsacks double digit.

Speaker 1 (01:05:40):
Sacks in the NFL. I could go on and on.

Speaker 6 (01:05:42):
It's hard for us to understand that the league likes
traits guys who can do certain certain things with explosiveness,
could do things better than anyone else, and then they
work with everything else and sometimes.

Speaker 1 (01:05:53):
Those guys blossom.

Speaker 6 (01:05:55):
The funny part with Calvin Banks is there's been so
much conversation about will.

Speaker 1 (01:05:59):
Campbell at ls you in his arm length and can
he play guard? Can do that? Well, guess who got
sucked into that same conversation. Kelvin Banks.

Speaker 6 (01:06:06):
Did Rashaan Slater's arm length get question. He's living just
fine at left tackle with Los Angeles Chargers. Peter Skronsky
was a left tackle in Northwestern same conversation. He immediately
moved inside the guard with the Tennessee Types, but.

Speaker 1 (01:06:19):
Still went number seven overall. Pick.

Speaker 6 (01:06:22):
I think that the outside world has gotten caught up
in the conversation.

Speaker 1 (01:06:27):
I think the league is.

Speaker 6 (01:06:27):
Going to send us at a message tonight, and don't
be surprised if Kelvin Banks goes in the top ten picks.

Speaker 4 (01:06:33):
All right, that right there, music to our ears, my friend.
So we're all in consensus that cam Ward is the
number one overall pick, and then everything else is just
going to be a crapshoot.

Speaker 1 (01:06:49):
Yeah, I mean, I think really, barring some.

Speaker 6 (01:06:54):
Crazy unforeseen move, we got Chalk at the top, probably
the top three picks. Ward it won to Tennessee Travis Hunter,
two to Cleveland, and then three The New York Giants
have dual Carter. We know that Cleveland and the Giants
are really quarterback needy, but I think that they have plans.

(01:07:16):
The Giants had their bets by Simon, Jameis Winston, and
Russell Wilson. Cleveland has Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco, so
they know they can line up and play.

Speaker 1 (01:07:26):
Do they want there's either team want to play with
these quarterbacks.

Speaker 6 (01:07:29):
Probably not, but they know they can get out and
be competent, right, so they have a plan to come
and get their quarterbacks. I think later I look my
first mock drap. I put Jackson Dart at three to
the New York Times, and people lost their mind, like
this just just went crazy. If Jackson Dark gets traded
for it in the first round and the Giants are

(01:07:51):
the team that comes back and gets him to remember who.

Speaker 1 (01:07:54):
Told you were over Jackson Jackson Dart now?

Speaker 6 (01:07:58):
Because I don't think it's gonna happen at three, all right,
because I think three is probably too rich. And if
you live in the New York market, I grew up
in New York State, you gotta be a little bit
careful about just how crazy you want to get, because
they'll get you. Know that market will come for you.
But if you can end up getting up dual Carter
and then come back and get the quarterback later, instead

(01:08:21):
of people thinking you're nuts, now you look like you
did a hell of a job. And that's what I
think the Giants are plotting to do. Would that surprise
me at all? If they play games in the top.
What if they're sitting there at three, someone really wants
gent knows they have to get in front of Jacksonville,
and now they want to play some games. The Giants
are willing to do that, drop back to maybe ten,

(01:08:44):
twelve somewhere that neighborhood, and then maybe make another deal
and come back up. And now let's say you get
up dual carter at three, drop back down, come back up,
and get.

Speaker 1 (01:08:55):
The quarterback ats like six, seven, eight.

Speaker 6 (01:08:58):
I don't know what the difference is to three and
three and eight myself, but people tend to go, oh,
that's a much better deal.

Speaker 3 (01:09:05):
I just.

Speaker 6 (01:09:07):
Well, we'll see how it goes. But they will try
and manipulate the board. But the bottom line is all
this manipulating I'm talking about you have to have a
partner and can't listen. Your idea of doing it is
one thing, but if you don't have a partner that's
going to join you, you might.

Speaker 1 (01:09:23):
As well be playing monopoly, all right.

Speaker 3 (01:09:25):
So there it is the conversation that that was there
on the morning kickoff, and just just.

Speaker 1 (01:09:32):
A wealth of knowledge. Oh my goodness, he is one
of the best to ever do it.

Speaker 4 (01:09:37):
And then you sit back and you look at you know,
his projections. And that was one of the main things
that I was looking at this morning was I wanted
to see what he thought and how we broke it down,
and how do we get to this point in just
the way that some of these guys in the game
that is being played, the rumors that are out there,
the moving back and forth on how you're posturing yourself

(01:10:02):
to go get your guy, you know, just like we're
talking about Kelvin Banks and how he's not a guy
that's been talked a lot about at the top, but
yet he is one of the premiere offensive tackles in
the game. You were talking about, you know, Charles being
a wealth of knowledge, Like he was the executive director
of the Olympic Training Center when I went to Colorado

(01:10:25):
Springs in ninety one, and the youngest that had ever
been And I used to go in his office and say, Man,
how you get this job? He was like Mark, they
don't just hand out those degrees at Tennessee.

Speaker 1 (01:10:42):
He said, you gotta apply yourself.

Speaker 4 (01:10:45):
And he was a mentor to me, and he he
made me aspire to greatness, you know, And and people
like him they don't come along that often.

Speaker 1 (01:10:55):
And when they do, you listen closely.

Speaker 3 (01:10:59):
All Right, We've got more coming up and continue with
our NFL Draft Day preview special here from Twin Peaks
I thirty five and Lewis hend of Boulevard here in
Round Rock.

Speaker 1 (01:11:07):
I'm thirteen under the Zone.

Speaker 2 (01:11:10):
Welcome back to our special NFL Draft show live from
Twin Peaks and Round Rock.

Speaker 1 (01:11:15):
Here's your hosts.

Speaker 2 (01:11:16):
Craig Way, my Cards, Mark Henry and Cameron Parker.

Speaker 3 (01:11:25):
Will welcome you back to our NFL special Draft day preview.
Always a thrill to come out here to Twin Peaks
and Round Rock. Glad to be here. I thirty five
and Lewis head of Boulevard. If you come from the south,
very easy. Just get off the exit. If you cover
from the north like I do, he SAIDs like live
in Willcoe, go down and get off at the Hesters
crossing it and then just loop around, do the UI

(01:11:47):
around there and boom there you are.

Speaker 1 (01:11:49):
That would go the same.

Speaker 3 (01:11:50):
Also for people coming from your neck of the woods,
originally from Colleen.

Speaker 4 (01:11:53):
That's right, that's right, Kay Towns fine is getting ready
to come down here and hang.

Speaker 1 (01:11:56):
Out with us.

Speaker 4 (01:11:57):
I don't know if they're really coming, but it'll be fun.

Speaker 3 (01:12:00):
The invitation has been extended all way, but all the
way we've we've it was good hearing from Charles Davis
and what he had to offer as well. All right,
I want to bring this centrally down. We've talked a
little bit about the Cowboys and we can continue to
do that. I also want to include the Texans in

(01:12:20):
on this and Cowboys Texans what we think their direction
is going on this. Let me start with you Cam
in terms of what you're seeing not only from the
Cowboys but also from the Texans.

Speaker 5 (01:12:33):
Well, starting off with the Cowboys, like I said earlier,
at number twelve, if Tita Rollan McMillan is there, I
think the Dallas Cowboys will draft receiver because looking at
their receiver corps right now, I think Mark Henry is
in line to be receiver number two for this roster. Now,
if McMillan is gone, I could see Matthew Golden at twelve.
But I can also see the Dallas Cowboys look at

(01:12:55):
trading down.

Speaker 1 (01:12:56):
We've heard Jerry.

Speaker 5 (01:12:56):
Jones say that they're involved in two substand trades. I
don't know exactly what that entails, or you know, maybe
Steven gave Jerry a fake, you know, trade machine on
his little laptop. There he's plugging away thinking he's actually
making moves and he's not. Who knows, but obviously receiver
is a huge need I could see defensive back, inter

(01:13:18):
your defensive lineman, and in running back, but I think
we'll probably see a running back later on the draft,
possibly third round, because there's so many good running backs
available in this year's draft.

Speaker 1 (01:13:28):
But you can get two.

Speaker 4 (01:13:29):
In this draft that he's a complement, one power and
one that's very real versus what I can guess.

Speaker 5 (01:13:35):
Well, yeah, yeah, so I think if you don't see
McMillan Golden, I would be happy with McMillan or Golden there.
I would love to see Alfred Collins or maybe even
another defensive tackle later on in round two and then
come back and grab a running back in round three.
But I think McMillan is a pick at twelve. If
mc millan has taken before that, I think Dallas would
either trade down or go ahead and take Matthew Golden.

Speaker 1 (01:13:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:13:58):
I might want to do a well on his check
on me if the Cowboys do something absolutely ludicrous, because
I will be in my car on my way up
to Dallas. You knows stopped me at least once a
week from driving up there.

Speaker 5 (01:14:12):
One thing about Dallas is you know they've actually drafted
pretty well, and you got to give a lot of
credit to wil McLay, who know his what his title
is does not really reflect what he has done for
the organization in the past couple decades. He's been a
fantastic influence, I think on the Jones families on draft nights.
You know, I think he had a big lot of
role in not drafting Johnny Manzel and when Jerry wanted

(01:14:35):
Johnny at twenty two. But mcclay's done a fantastic job.
I think the Cowboys overall, I have done a good
job drafting. I mean last season, killing Carson the cornerback,
he played in a handful of games, drafted a few
other guys Cooper Bebe of course, Kansas State guard who's
now at center. That was a fantastic draft pick. So

(01:14:55):
they've done a good job in the draft.

Speaker 1 (01:14:57):
Mark. You know, I think they'll make the right moves here.

Speaker 5 (01:15:00):
But the thing is is that you know, they've spent
so little in pre agency that there's just a lot
of holes to plug in on this roster going forward.

Speaker 4 (01:15:09):
There's a lot of holes to plug. But you gotta
do things that are important that's gonna make you good
right away. I believe that you needed to develop, You
need to have picks that are going to help you
in the future, But right now, what are you gonna
do right now? When you think first pick, second pick,

(01:15:30):
you think I need this for this upcoming season, you
need it now.

Speaker 1 (01:15:37):
Like a third or fourth, fifth round picks.

Speaker 4 (01:15:39):
You can develop those guys, but you're really only gonna
get too So who is that gonna be. Are you
gonna help the offense by bringing in a wide receiver
or offensive tackle? Those are the two things. The only
two things that I'm gonna settle.

Speaker 3 (01:15:54):
Is that what everybody sees his d two key need
areas offensive tackles.

Speaker 4 (01:15:59):
With all the money you spent on Dak Prescott and
all the money you spent on CD Lamb, you need
a compliment to CD.

Speaker 1 (01:16:06):
It's true you also need a running.

Speaker 4 (01:16:08):
Back, but you can get a running back in a
second and third round, you know, are they You can
mortgage the rest of your draft picks and try to
get two picks in the second round. But you gotta
do something drastic like that if you want to win
right now, because the Eagles are gonna be the Eagles
next year.

Speaker 1 (01:16:26):
They just won a Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (01:16:28):
The Commanders, I hate to say this, but they're scary
and if they draft another.

Speaker 1 (01:16:35):
Wide receiver, we're done for. We're done for.

Speaker 4 (01:16:39):
We don't have enough corners to cover the three running
wide receivers they got now, Like, so I mean it's.

Speaker 1 (01:16:47):
Make a move. I on the sat here and got
mad again.

Speaker 3 (01:16:52):
So in other words, you're saying, any other needs other
than those two you can address later in the draft
and or through free agency. Yeah, but right now you
have to get a franchise wide receiver or franchise offensive
tackle or.

Speaker 5 (01:17:08):
I think it's no pretty good about tackle and then
Giting and Steel. I think it's more for the Cowboys
at least the Texan is definitely off at the tackle.

Speaker 1 (01:17:15):
Cowboys.

Speaker 5 (01:17:15):
I think you're looking at receiver and then either the
interior defensive linemen or possibly running back Mike.

Speaker 1 (01:17:21):
They used a first round pick last year on a
guidan from Oklahoma, on.

Speaker 4 (01:17:26):
A defensive tackle in Masie Smith, my suspensive who did
not produce. Yeah, Like so they missed, and they spent
money this year on the defensive line. So I expect
that to be better already because they address those needs
through free agency. But when it comes to compliment what

(01:17:46):
Ceedee Lamb is, you need to get a wide receiver
in the third round. I think that's people like Scataboo
like hard laughs because I bring his name up.

Speaker 1 (01:17:58):
But he was there was no answer for him again, and.

Speaker 4 (01:18:02):
Texas had the best defense in college football and he
ran over them like like they.

Speaker 1 (01:18:10):
Were in middle school. So he made a believer out
of me.

Speaker 4 (01:18:14):
And I would rather miss out on one of the
top three running backs and get a fourth, fifth guy
in the in the third fourth run.

Speaker 1 (01:18:27):
Yeah, I agree.

Speaker 5 (01:18:27):
There's just too many holes in the defensive line and
that receiver to take a running back that high. Now,
let me ask you this, If Ashton Gent is there
at twelve, do you consider it?

Speaker 4 (01:18:38):
If that's what you have to consider it, you have
to consider that you.

Speaker 1 (01:18:41):
Have to take him.

Speaker 3 (01:18:41):
You because that gets back to your best player available.

Speaker 4 (01:18:45):
Now, now you have to switch and go to the second.
You got a second pick for a wide receiver.

Speaker 1 (01:18:52):
Way, I'm taking Jenny there. All right, we'll talk more
about Mecca Buka.

Speaker 4 (01:18:55):
Will be there and at the end of the first round,
beginning of the second round.

Speaker 3 (01:18:59):
All right, we'll address more of that and we'll have
more coming up when we continue on our Draft Day special.

Speaker 1 (01:19:04):
Here, I'm thirteen under the zone.

Speaker 2 (01:19:07):
Welcome back, to our special NFL Draft show live from
Twin Peaks and Round Rock. Here's your hosts, Craig Way,
Mike carg Mark Henry, and Cameron Parker.

Speaker 3 (01:19:20):
Yeah. If you're listening to the morning kickoff with Mike
Hardball Heart and Mark Henry, you hear them arguing tomorrow
morning about draft choices. Yeah, because we were just starting
to get it. Why didn't they do this exactly? And
we were just starting to get into the whole thing
about the argument about what the cowboys should do? But
that's the passion as well as the dis enfranchisement of

(01:19:45):
cowboy fings.

Speaker 4 (01:19:47):
Right is no longer on the ride into that situation,
which is kind of it's disturbing for me, Cam.

Speaker 1 (01:19:55):
It's really disturbing that you have, yes, is it?

Speaker 4 (01:19:58):
Because we all have walked away from the Cowboys. We
all have and I haven't, but we came back.

Speaker 1 (01:20:04):
We came back. Why would you go back?

Speaker 5 (01:20:05):
Because if the Titanic is sinking, you don't go back
to the Titanic.

Speaker 1 (01:20:09):
And that's what that's what's disturbing him about you, that
I want you to go back missing company.

Speaker 2 (01:20:15):
Man.

Speaker 5 (01:20:15):
I enjoyed my Sundays last year not watching a single
Cowboy game.

Speaker 1 (01:20:19):
I can't believe that. I don't care how bad they are.
I've got my fingers. If your girlfriend, you go back
to her.

Speaker 4 (01:20:27):
No, that's it. Yeah, Okay, there you go. But the
Cowboys aren't my girlfriend. No.

Speaker 5 (01:20:31):
They have cheated many times by letting the market. They's
made a lot of mistakes.

Speaker 3 (01:20:36):
All Right, we have one. We have another hour to go,
our third hour coming up. We're here for four hours
and fifty minutes. So our number three of our NFL
Draft preview special, coming away from Twin Peaks. I thirty
five and at Lewis hit A Bulevard. Glad to have
you with us. We'll continue here. I'm thirteen under the
zone
