to nine am Monday through Friday right here on sports
Radio AM thirteen hundred The Zone. Good Good morning, Austin, Flugerville, AH, Sound,
k Town, or wherever you may be. Listen, this is
the Morning Kickoff right here on Sports Radio AM thirteen
hundred The Zone.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Our number one is in the books.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
We started off the show talking about Texas and them
being at perfect five and zero and they take on
Oklahoma being four and one. Texas rumor has it will
be getting QB one back.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
That will be the one and only Quinn.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Yours will know more today after we have our press
conference with coach Sart. You can hear the press conference
starting at eleven o'clock right here on Sports Radio AM
thirteen hundred The Zone with myself, Craig Way, and Cam
Parker coming to you from the stadium, leading you into
the conversation with coach Sark. So make sure you're either
(01:13):
listening in your car or download the always free iHeartRadio app.
We had upsets on top of upsets this weekend and
that is the reason why Texas is now back to
being the number one team in the nation. Washington defeated
the number ten ranked Michigan Wolverines. The Texas A and
(01:35):
M Fighting Aggies, the number twenty five ranked Aggies at
the time, defeated the number nine ranked Missouri Tagas forty
one to ten.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
The game was not even close.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Even though that score looks back, it was worse than
the score could have actually been. With the return of
Connor Wegman, Arkansas defeated the number four ranked Tennessee Volunteers
nineteen to fourteen, and the volunteers believed the people were like,
oh man, they had to hangover, No, they had. The
fact of the matter is they weren't ready. They didn't
(02:10):
come out ready to play. They had a freshman quarterback
making freshman mistakes, didn't turn the ball over, just didn't
give his team a chance to win the game at
the end. But Arkansas looks good in Texas, will end
up playing Arkansas here pretty soon. Minnesota defeated the number
eleventh rank USC Trojans twenty four to seventeen. Is this
(02:34):
something that we need to start looking at with Lincoln Riley.
The teams get up and then they fall down, and
they fall down hard, so they too are having issues
in Minnesota.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
SE's I mean the Big ten team. PJ.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Fleck always has his team playing hard. He was very
passionate about that game. And Vanderbilt the number one upset
of the weekend, Vanderbilt defeating Alabama forty to thirty five
in an epic battle, going back and forth David and Goliath.
And now you get a chance to really see how
(03:11):
these teams are going to bounce back from these defeats.
They've got to get back to work. They got to
get back to work, and we'll see what happened. Speaking
of work, the Texans get that victory yesterday, hard fuck
come from behind, battle on top of battle, and it
always comes down to the end of the ball game.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
Snow Place back tweaks the leg, it's gone.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Clock City, Houstonton gets the W. There they go, Houston
getting that W.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
You know, you go into that matchup and you got
Joe Flacco as the starting quarterback for the Indianapolis coach.
He just finds a way to put his team in
a position to make plays and give them that chance
to win.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
Well. When you got CJ.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Stroud on your side and him being able to go
out and make plays going twenty eight of thirty eight
three p thirty one with a touchdown and a touchdown
being the big play throwing it deep down the field.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
Did I say, Joe Flacco, that's the wrong game.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
The wrong game I'm talking about is the Bills and
the Texans.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
CJ. Stroud played well. But the question that we have
right now.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Is is Josh Allen broken? Is this We went from
looking at him looking unstoppable, quick game, quick game, getting
the ball out of his hand, to him trying to
make big plays. Was this game one of those games
that he was trying to show folks that I don't
(04:57):
need Stefan Diggs.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
Is this where his ego gets into the way.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Because he was nine of thirty, nine of thirty for
one hundred and thirty one yards, He had a fifty
five point three QBR, He had a quarter another rating
overall rating of fifty six point four. James Cook was
(05:23):
running the ball down their throat, but he kept trying
to throw the football. Threw it thirty times. Now they
played well. He had an opportunity to win, but nine
of thirty to be in that situation as the leader
of that team, he wasn't accurate. Obviously with nine of
(05:47):
thirty he missed some big plays. Kean Coleman helped him
with that forty nine year forty nine year old, forty
nine yard touchdown. It was unbelievable when you sat back
and watched. But give CJ. Stroud some credit for what
he was able to do. And he spoke about his
(06:08):
team right after that.
Speaker 5 (06:10):
First and foremost just want to give all gorey and
praise my Lord has Savior Jesus Christ. When I'm thinking
the man, just take care of football, uh and really
just give him a give him a shot. You know,
today he broke the all time record for scoring in
Texas history. So man, he's a dog. You got you
got ice in his vans with me and him are
big Kobe fan, So what's talk about happen that mama mentality?
So I mean, I'm just proud of that guy.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
And c. J.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Stroud is somebody you should be proud of. I mean,
he is continued continued to be able to show up
and deliver for his football team.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
He a lot has been.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
Thrown on him this year, but he's ready for it.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
He's had to share the football with people like a.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
Like a Stefan Diggs, but he hasn't lost sight of
guys that have made play him. Nico Collins continues to
make big play after big play, sixty seven yard touchdown.
Then you have tankdll clutch clutch performance, finding him for
first downs, those short yardage passes, making sure that he's open.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
Then you have Dalton Schultz stepping up.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
Cam Aker scored a touchdown yesterday and I was like,
I didn't even realize cam was even playing still because
he was struggling Like that another weapon that this team has.
But you have to give credit to that defense. That
defense flies to the football. Stingley still making big plays,
making tackles in the open field. Kwame Lassiter came up
(07:44):
and smoked Cook the other day coming out of the backfield.
They were flying to the football and they make play
after play. So it's impressive when you start to look
at this team and where they continue to go. They
are four and one on the season, and they're three
and oher at home. I want to see what they
are capable to do when they hit the row hearts.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
They're oh and one.
Speaker 6 (08:06):
In my heart, I don't trust them, you really, yes,
you want to know why? Why the one time I
picked up their defense, I figure it should be easy
win against the Jags.
Speaker 7 (08:16):
They're not a very good team.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
It's a divisional game.
Speaker 6 (08:19):
I told you that the Jags gave them that work. Now,
the Texans won, which was cool and all, but my
defense did not win, so it was bad for me.
So you know what I win won my heart?
Speaker 3 (08:31):
I got you.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
The Vikings defeated the Jets to kick off Sunday football
in London. The Vikings moved to five and oh. If
you would have told me that they would be five
and oh behind Sam Darnold as their starting quarterback and
for them to have those capabilities, I would have thought
you were out of your mind. The Ravens end up
(08:52):
defeating the Bengals yesterday on a walk off by guess who,
Justin Tucker, who has been struggling with the long kid
kicks for a while, and they end up winning that
game forty one to thirty eight.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
Joe Burrow's playing out of his mind.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
He's the first quarterback to throw for over three hundred
and seventy five yards with five touchdowns and taking loss
in the game. Unbelievable when you think about it. And
Derrick Henry, he keeps saying that Lamar Jackson is the MVP. Derek,
I think you made Lamar's job a little bit easier.
(09:28):
I still took a flyer on that. When we come back,
we'll continue the NFL conversation. And of course, you know
your boy gots to go to Pittsburgh and talk about.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
Strongest man in WWE Hall of Famer the Mark Henry
and of course we got our guy Khalil behind the board.
Mark had to take a phone call. You will hear
him in the next segment. But I wanted to talk
about the Dallas Cowboys and the expectation going into this week.
The expectation was simple. It wasn't a lot to be expected.
(18:04):
The Cowboys were dealing with injuries heading into this ball game.
Speaker 3 (18:08):
It was a game in which on the defensive.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
Side of the football, DeMarcus Lawrence was going to be out,
Michaeh Parsons was dealing with the high ankle spring. You
had secondary members that have been out as well, and
the Cowboys were just going to try to skate by
and get through Pittsburgh. It was a team that a
lot of folks kept looking at. Mike Tomlin continues to win,
(18:33):
he continues to make things happen, and Justin Justin Fields
had been playing at an elite level, which is why
a lot of folks believe that Justin will be the
starting quarterback moving forward. The other part of it is
when you start to sit back and watch this team
is what is going to happen with that offensive line.
(18:55):
It was an injury that ended up moving Tyler Smith
from left guard to left tackle, and then they brought
back in Bass to play on the offensive line. Ricodoubele
came in as the starting running back. For some reason,
there was a video that was happening because the game
was delayed last night for such a long time. They
(19:17):
were spending time in the locker room showing video and
Zeke was trying to put on his shoulder pad and
it looked like his shoulder was banged up. So that
is why I believe in some of those short yardage plays,
the one on the goal line where they end up
Rico tries to jump over the top and he ends
up fumbling, I believe that, and Dak jumped on top
(19:37):
of that.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
But I believe the reason why that happened.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
Is because of the fact that Ezekie ol Elliott was injured,
and nobody has talked about it, so we'll probably hear
more about that moving forward, especially now that that video
has been released and a lot of folks didn't know
that Zeke was injured. So now you start looking at
it and you say, Okay, is this now that moment
(20:01):
where you bring up a Dalvin Cook? Because Dalvin Cook
got picked up for a reason and they didn't they
didn't use him last night.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
So there's a lot to unpacked.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
But one thing that we can always make sure of
that at the end of the game, folks are going
to be critical of what Dak can and can I do.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
And last night Dak delivered.
Speaker 4 (20:23):
Chris Scott Fazy for the storm.
Speaker 1 (20:38):
And the entire time on that drive, they were doing
everything right. The players were called right, the movement was right,
the way that everything was being done was perfect until
that play at the goal line, and then there was
a pressure package. By the way, shout out to TJ Watt.
TJ Watt getting to the fastest player to get to
one hundred sacks in his career, that fast he's at,
(21:01):
that explosive and just to add a little bit more
salt to the room, check this out. The Cowboys could
have drafted TJ. Watt, but instead they took Taco Charlton
at that pick.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
Seriously, that was the pick.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
That's why everybody say we got tacoed because that's what
they were saying about Mazie Smith, and that is what
they've been saying about TJ. Watt being on the Pittsburgh
Steelers and what he means to that city and the
way that he's gone about it. He is the second fastest,
not the fastest, the second fastest to get to one
(21:38):
hundred sacks, only behind Reggie White.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
That's how long he is.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
That type of player, and he creates all kinds of problems.
But getting back to Dak Prescott and what he was
able to deliver. For those that say he's not clutch,
it's almost like they say Lebron is not clutch in
those particular moments.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
But you go back and you look at his numbers,
he's pretty dog on clutch. Dak Prescott.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
That was the twenty third a fourth quarter or overtime
win in his career. He's won behind the Cowboys record
for come from behind victories. So for him to be
able to drive down the field, even though there were
some plays that you're really wondering, like what the heck
is truly going on, this was the way that this
(22:25):
guy figured out. And I was glad to see that
he got that touchdown and for the win, because my
whole thought process was for my boys in k Town,
because I knew if this thing ended badly, they were
gonna go off on me. They weren't gonna talk to me,
they were gonna give me so much crap. But I
got the lab for this week. And now they head
(22:47):
into the to the weekend and they take on the
Detroit Lions who are coming after everybody, and it's gonna
be a tough matchup for them because their defense is good.
But Dak talked about the win after the matchup last night.
Speaker 21 (23:00):
Oh finish, Dak, I'm gonna start with you walk us
through that go ahead touchdown drive.
Speaker 22 (23:06):
Yeah, we had a play call that we love. We're
very confident in regardless of the defense. Offensive line did
a great job. Tober came over to the left, just
how to.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
Make the throw.
Speaker 21 (23:18):
I watched you on the sideline keeping everyone calm despite
all the ups and downs of this game. How were
you guys able to come back despite all that and
all the injuries.
Speaker 22 (23:26):
Yeah, we talk about it staying neutral, being resilient, understanding
there's going to be ups and downs, abbs and flows.
But if we just know who we are, we just
stay with it, we can come.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
Out with wins. And this was a great example.
Speaker 1 (23:37):
They did battle through it and it was a truly
truly epic win.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
Not that epic.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
It was a Sunday night game, it was raining, but
for them to play the way that they played without
key parts of their team and for them to get
that victory, it was a huge, huge win from from
the Cowboys, especially being on the road. Now they got
to come back home and it's a tough matchup.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
Looking at what Detroit has been able to do in
this short period of time with them and the consistency
in which they play, the fact that they lost to
the Cowboys on controversial plays before coming back to Dallas
for this matchup this weekend. Yeah, it's gonna be interesting
to see how the Cowboys match up with this team.
(24:30):
Dealing with the injuries in which they have. The Cowboys
are now sitting at three and two. They out gained
yesterday the Pittsburgh Steelers in every category. Every category. You
look at what they were able to do, and they
had four hundred and forty five yards of total offense,
but they did turn the ball over three times. They
(24:52):
had twenty five first downs. Pittsburgh had two hundred and
twenty six yards of total offense first downs. Cowboys controlled
the time of possession. They out gained them on the
ground as well, dack through for three point fifty two
justin fields one thirty one. I mean this entire The
(25:14):
fact of the matter that they kept George Pickens in
check was huge, especially because Jordan Lewis is a guy
that from Michigan, another one of those guys that a
lot of folks didn't see him staying as a Dallas Cowboy,
but then you got a chance to see him go
out there and truly play at a high level. Cowboys
(25:38):
controlled the time of possession passing yards. They did get
penalized a ton, eleven penalties for eighty seven yards. They
fumbled on the goal line where you thought it was
about to be the end of it. Tobert was hurt
before that play, and they luckily there was a timeout
(25:58):
that was called to get him the rest to rally.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
To score that.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
And if you go back and look at the route,
he was limping the entire time running those last two routes.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
The route before that.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
Dak threw the ball and it came up a little
bit short, and I was thinking to myself, this is
what's about to happen. I'm about to get roasted, roasted
because of the fact that Dak did not finish the drive. Well,
he ends up finishing the drive, Cowboys end up winning.
And now the talk is going to be about coming
(26:32):
up this week, the matchup this week against the Lions.
Because you play at home against the Lions, and then
you're on the road against the forty nine ers the Falcons,
and then you're back home against the Texans.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
This is going to be one.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
Physical stretch for the Dallas Cowboys that I'm not sure
that they're going to be ready for it because they're
also dealing with an injury to Tyler Geiton, They're dealing
their offensive tackle, also dealing with an injury to Marshawn Kneeling,
who got hurt in yesterday's game after.
Speaker 3 (27:05):
He made his first start.
Speaker 1 (27:07):
So this is going to be a challenge this week
for the Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
It's got to be rest for sure.
Speaker 6 (27:13):
Hard are you looking at them to go too and
two with those next four games?
Speaker 3 (27:19):
Because the Falcons are good? Oh, I know, I know,
So it's Detroit.
Speaker 6 (27:24):
I think I'd be happy two and two personally, four
and those obviously just.
Speaker 3 (27:28):
No, that's asking for way too much.
Speaker 2 (27:31):
That's wey asking for way too much, right, So what
are you looking for out of these.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
Next matchups with Detroit? But they go into a bye
week after Detroit. Okay, so they get they get this
game at three twenty five against Detroit. They get through that,
and if they can play well in that matchup, and
then man, I hope they don't lose to buy because
that would be a tough loss for them. All right, Yeah,
(27:58):
so it goes De Troit, San Francisco, Atlanta, and then
Philly and then they play the Texans so they got
a huge and then Washington.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
Wow, yeah, good luck. Yeah, this is not.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
Gonna be one of those series of games that I
look at and believe that the Cowboys are going to
put up good numbers. I don't see that happening. Yeah,
I'll go to and two. If Cowboys can go to
and two, I'll definitely take that, especially because when you
look at this roster and it's even more depleted than
(28:37):
what it was coming into the season. And I'm not
trying to take a jab at your squad, the New
England Patriots, but they are on New England Patriot. As
far as depth, the Patriots don't have depth. We don't
have anybody.
Speaker 3 (28:51):
Right.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
Well, you told me Friday before we left the show
that they're talking about a mutiny in the locker room.
They're trying to ye, they're trying to form a coup
to end everything.
Speaker 6 (29:03):
So I was like, what, Yeah, they had Gibson starting
all the way up until game time. No, no, no, Stevenson
is starting out of nowhere. Why mutiny?
Speaker 3 (29:13):
Oh my goodness. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
So when I look at the Cowboys, they're second in
the nfcast. So you start looking at the teams in
the nfcast. The Washington Commanders are playing at an elite level.
You look at what Jaydon Daniels has been able to
do this with this Washington Commander team, and they continue
to go out and play at an elite level.
Speaker 3 (29:36):
They are four and one in the conference.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
I mean in the nfcast, they are two and oh
at home, two and one on the road. They're one
and oh in the division. Cowboys are one and oh
in the division. Yet the point differential for Washington versus
the Cowboys, Washington is plus forty. The Cowboys are minus four.
(30:00):
Philadelphia look suspect. And obviously the Giants find a way
to win yesterday on that blocked field goal attempt, they
scoop and score and they end up winning a game.
But all the way around, you start looking at these teams,
it is a wide open race. And the team that
we thought was going to be either third or fourth
(30:21):
in the division now is sitting atop and they look
like they got the steal of the draft with Jadeen Daniels.
He plays with so much poise and we give Jayden
Daniels a lot.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
Of love, but you need to give dan Quinn love.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
And most importantly, you need to start putting in some
respect on Cliff Kingsbury's name and the ability to call
plays for a guy that can make every single throw,
he has shown that he is going to be. Everybody
keeps saying Caleb Williams, Caleb played well, but Jaylen Daniels
is a guy that is not only being recognized as
(30:57):
possible Rookie of the Year, he's also in the MVP
conversation because of the poise in.
Speaker 3 (31:04):
Which he's played.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
When we come back, you'll hear from the world's strongest Man,
the Mark Henry WWE Hall of Famer, as we take

Then they didn't know me. Now I'm hot. They all
on me.
Speaker 2 (40:57):
This past week in college football was one for the ages.
Grocery stores should be completely out of cheese. A lot
of teams in the top ten they ate the cheese.
And you might say, what kind of cheese, the cheddar cheese,
(41:18):
the good of cheese. No, no, the Swiss cheese, none
of them. I mean the poison cheese. All of the
wheels around the world that relate to sports talk was
saying good things about everybody, how teams could just walk
(41:40):
in and just beat anybody cheese. Georgia ate it, then
Old miss ate it, and then Tennessee followed up eating it.
And lastly Alabama of all teams ate the poison cheese
and arguably the worst loss in their school's history. Now,
(42:07):
all of this because the poison cheese is associated with
teams on the top of the eight pe pole, in
the coach's pole, Texas is the last.
Speaker 3 (42:19):
Team standing in that ranking.
Speaker 2 (42:22):
All the other four teams that I talked about, they
ate the cheese.
Speaker 3 (42:31):
Clil play that, Nick Saban.
Speaker 35 (42:34):
But the only place you play in the SEC that's
not hard to play is Vanderbilt. You have more fans
there than they have. And that's no disrespect to them,
it's not it's the truth.
Speaker 3 (42:47):
Well that's what I'm talking about right there.
Speaker 2 (42:50):
Hard How does Texas not eat the cheese? My take
is that coach Starts should play that for the team.
He should list all the teams that were ranked in
the top five that fell out except them, they're still there.
(43:17):
What say you, Well, here's the thing. Excuse me, here's
the thing about that.
Speaker 1 (43:22):
And the other part is Coach Sark last week talked
about the teams I mean talking about his team watching games.
They watch games over the weekend because they want to
learn different things throughout the process. So yes, I do
agree coach should come in. Texas is the new number
one team. As we talked about earlier in the show.
(43:44):
But you sit and you think about this team in
the maturity level in which they have carried the entire time.
Those are the types of things that I believe that
Coach Stark has entrusted into his leaders. Those are the
moments that those guys wherever they were. They might have
been at acl they might have been hanging out watching games,
(44:06):
but the conversations when they got back yesterday was, Hey, guys,
this is the focus that you need to have.
Speaker 3 (44:13):
Our goals are still in front of us.
Speaker 1 (44:14):
And a lot of those teams that you mentioned their
goals might be in front of them as well. So
you sit and you talk about getting this together and
trying to dive back in.
Speaker 3 (44:27):
It was an unbelievable weekend.
Speaker 1 (44:28):
As we said, it was one of those weekends that
you sat back and you were glad you were off
that weekend because you got a chance to sit back
and watch we may never see in our lifetime Vanderbilt
beat Alabama again. Right, That's how it's been twenty eight years. Yeah,
(44:50):
A man I was texting with Jalen Gilbert's dad. Jalen
Gilbert played safety the Round Rock product. I was texting
him during the game, and I was like, bruh. He
was doing the same thing because he too understood what
the task was. But he knows that that team is talented.
He knows that Vanderbilt has the skill level to go
(45:11):
out there and compete. But yet you still it's not
like you said twenty eight years you can't walk up okay, Yeah, you.
Speaker 3 (45:18):
Can't walk up hard. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (45:20):
Like I sit back and think about the times in
my life where I knew I was gonna win Nationals.
I knew I was gonna win the Junior Worlds, but
I had to show up and do it right right,
And that was the difference between me and the other.
I had great leadership, doctor Terry Tide, doctor Jan Todde,
(45:43):
Mad Dog Dragon Me of Sharosa Line, Emil Yankoff. My
coaches ain't the great Angel spots Off, who is the
women's strength coach at the University of Texas forever. It's
not gonna just happen, Mark, you got to show.
Speaker 3 (46:00):
Up, You got to work.
Speaker 2 (46:03):
And man, I wish I could talk to the team.
I really wish that I could talk to him because
the insight.
Speaker 1 (46:11):
Here, you think you need to talk to them because
they're not ready or is this the foreshadow?
Speaker 2 (46:17):
Just to show you that this could happen. I would say, coach,
can you play this video please? And I would show
Nick Saban talking and I would show all the talking
heads talking about Tennessee and how great Tennessee is and
Old Miss oh my gosh, And then they mentioned Texas
(46:38):
name in that Tennessee promo, I mean in uh.
Speaker 3 (46:43):
Old Miss promo.
Speaker 2 (46:45):
Well, I mean Texas and Old Miss are not going
to run into each other.
Speaker 3 (46:49):
But who's the better team. I would play all of it,
don't eat the cheese.
Speaker 1 (46:58):
Well, I think they this sound, they would understand it.
But I also believe that when you look at what
coach Sark has been able to build, I think the
the writing is on the wall for him. I think
he saw that and he sees this opportunity to understand. Guys,
you got to execute, and like Coach Sark has always said,
(47:21):
don't worry about everything else.
Speaker 3 (47:23):
The only way we lose is if we're not focused.
Speaker 1 (47:26):
The only way we can go out there and play
our game is to play our game and not beat ourselves.
So if those guys go out there, they know this
is some of those guys. Last Red River shootout Red
River rivalry. This is a lot of these games. Yeah,
there's a lot of them that is walking out there
that understand that, hey.
Speaker 3 (47:46):
Man, you never walk on that grass again.
Speaker 1 (47:49):
Yeah, So sometimes that's just the way it goes down.
So I'm impressed with it all. That's a great World's
Strongest take. And I also believe too that coach Sar
in his right mind knows that he has to show
up and make sure that this team shows up. There's
a lot of people that's going to be there. I
(48:10):
saw sec Nation was gonna be there. I saw a
lot of those people there. So we're gonna end up
seeing how this plays out. Great tech by the World's
Strongest men. And when we come back, we'll close out
the show and send you to Dan Patrick right here
on the morning kickoff on Sports Radio AM thirteen hundred.
Speaker 3 (48:29):
Y'all don't remember the Georgia Southern game, do you?
Speaker 35 (48:32):
I don't think we had a guy on that field
that didn't play in the NFL, and about four or
five of them were first round draft picks. And I
think that team won a national championship, but I'm not sure.
And they run through our play through a ten horn
man and we could not stop them, could not stop them,
could not stop them because we didn't we couldn't get
(48:52):
a look in practice. We didn't practice it right, all right,
And everybody said the same thing in that game, y'all
took a week off. All this wasn't important, all right,
So it's not important to anybody else. It's got to
be important to the players, and it's got.
Speaker 3 (49:04):
To be important to us now.
Speaker 35 (49:07):
Everybody gets all excited about the beginning of the season.
You know, you get excited about getting married, all right,
But after you're married for a while, you know, you
got to have a process to make it work, all right,
And no matter what happens, we need to have a
process to make it work. And every game that we play,
every game that we play, can't assume anything. I don't
even know what you ask me, but I just wanted
(49:27):
to say that.
Speaker 8 (49:31):

Speaker 2 (56:03):
It goes back to your point, though, don't eat the cheese.
Don't need just two sides of the story. There's the
winning side and the losing side. Absolutely see when when
the laughter and they ain't got no fans and they
they they're not gonna win all of that.
Speaker 3 (56:18):
That's that's the good side. That's a happy side.
Speaker 2 (56:22):
When they lost to Georgia Southern, oh man, you would
have thought that the world ended.
Speaker 3 (56:29):
It probably did for him.
Speaker 2 (56:30):
Well, it didn't end, because they still won the championship
that you didn't not believe, so they still I think.
Speaker 3 (56:38):
They still won the championship.
Speaker 2 (56:39):
He ain't want to lose, but he didn't want to
have the blemish on his record. And even if you
do lose, lose the Clemson lose, the Texas lose to.
Speaker 3 (56:52):
Georgia, not Georgia Southern.
Speaker 2 (56:57):
Yeah, well so Vanderbilt and and and then then he
started rambling because you start thinking about how hard it
is the lead, lead a successful married life. And he
touched on that briefly, and then he lost his train
(57:19):
of thought.
Speaker 3 (57:19):
You gotta work at it. He was like, that ain't
even a question that you asked me. I don't even
know what, but that's what we got. We all been
there too. What what what did you ask? Attention? Baby,
my bad, my bad. I get in trouble for that
a lot.
Speaker 2 (57:35):
But I'm gonna tell you, man, this was one of
those weekends where you could get lost in your thoughts
because so many teams ate the cheese, They ate the
poor the cheese. It ain't no other way around it.
You can't say that Tennessee slipped.
Speaker 3 (57:51):
You can't.
Speaker 2 (57:52):
You can't say that, Uh you know who didn't slip?

thought was going slip. Yeah, I apologize to all y'all
and m fans.
Speaker 3 (58:06):
They stood on business.
Speaker 1 (58:07):
Yeah they brought it and that was the beautiful thing
about it too. You know that goes to show all
these people. And we talked about it a little while ago.
People thought that Texas's schedule was easy. Texas got the
easy schedule. Go back and look at that after all
those upsets we just talked about. Texas is in the
middle of all of that, especially when you look at
(58:29):
an Arkansas, you look at a Vanderbilt, you look at
Kentucky who won earlier this year. You have got to
show up every week and it goes to your world's
strongest Take Mark Henry, you a spot on don't eat
the cheese dog, even though some people like cheese. I
