Today, another day with Eric Henry of Horns 24/7 subbing in for Hardge, and he and Mark talk about the Texas Longhorn football team starting their fall practice. They update us on the Gilbert Arenas arrest and Shannon Sharpe's firing at ESPN. They talk about their expectations for NFL Rookies this season. throwback Thursday. Mark plenty to get into today. The sports
world never stops, Football never stops, and and football is
officially back. The NFL. It's back, baby, the NFL back tonight,

of course, most notably the team we all care about
around these parts, the Texas Longhorns. Mark took the field
for the first time at frank Denius last all or
yesterday afternoon, I should say a steamy afternoon, one hundred
degree day there, I will say, Mark, before we kind
of get into some of the highlights from the offense. First,

we'll start with the offensive highlights on what stood out
in the AA excuse me in the seven am hour.
Get to the defense in the eight a m hour. Mark,
real quick. You know a man who is you know,
purports himself as a man of the people, a very
important man here in Aulston.

the picture of Christale Conte Mark, and listen, I'll give

they hop on the golf court and golf cart. Excuse
me and ride over. I don't know if Christelle Conte
walked from his office, but I didn't see him get
a ride. And that man for a good at least

Conte is so rich he got one to respect the
gadgety with the air conditioning, the fan like you don't

of the start and carries at running back.

Yeah, you know, it was interesting so to kind of
let the audience in and how they did it that
first day, not in pads, so you know, no hitting yet, Mark,

click clack, we're talking with the sound of that click clack.
Not there yet, But it was interesting. Yes, when Trey
von Wisener. Of course, you know, still slayd to be
that number one back. That still appears to be the case.

Mark looks to be healthy, but of course you know
when you suffer an injury like he did. He did,
of course have not just a brace, but he had
a sleeve as well over that rehabilitated me. So there's that.
He looked very good. Filled in with the second trigger.
I'll give you another guy, Mark, one of your guys
who you love to call him this last year and brother,
he looks bigger and badder.

talk about, you know, someone as an athlete who's fought
through injuries. Mark, don't you remember a time when an
achilles you were done?

It was like cancer Christmas, Like if you tore your achilles,
they would be like, hey man, I need you to
take a few days off and then I need you
to quit the business.

to pull up one of these days at practice availably
so you can see Christian Clark. He looks, I mean,
modern medicine is real. He looks better than ever. His
frame is just so it's built. It's just amazing. How

These guys can look coming off of these serious injuries.

But that battlet right tackle mark is real. When I
asked Steve Sarkejen, it was one of the last questions
we snuck in during his media availability after practice, and
I just asked him, Hey, you know, Steve, what are
you looking for from the battlet right tackle and mark?
He said tooth words that I know a guy of

your elk, a guy cut from your cloth, will appreciate.
He said, he wants to see some feistiness and nastiness
out of Nick Brooks and Andre Kojo. Excuse me, I said,
Nick Brooks, Andre Kojo and Brandon Baker, who are competing
for that starting job at right tackle. So that's certainly
something to keep an eye on. But the rest of
the offensive line pretty much looked as we would expect.

You know, Trevor Goosby at left tackle Nato and Azoula
left guard, Cole Hudson at center, right guard DJ Campbell.
Of course, the two guys competing at right tackle. It
did appear in Mark that there's an emphasis and you
would expect this right to kind.

Of get it.

Speaker 5 (07:54):
It's day one, you know, so there's no starters quote
unquote set in stone yet, but it appeared that there
was an emphasis to get as many offensive linemen just
feeling comfortable because look, yeah, I don't have wood to
knock on. I'm sure Steve Sarkisan's got some of it
in his office. If one of those guys goes down.
There is not a lot of experience Mark behind the
starters quote unquote starters at offensive line. So that's where

things hold up there. But that right tackle spot Mark,
and listen, you got two big boys. Andre Kojo out
of Mansfield, Grand Prairie six' fourth memory starts me correct
three thirty, and then you have Brandon Baker, the four
star recruit out of California six four, three hundred and
eight pounds. Whoever emerges from that job or emerges from camp.

I think Texas will be in good shape.

But to pass it back to your feistiness and nastiness
is what Steve Sarkigan wants to see from those two
young men.

That's awesome. I also want to know about my guy,
Trey Owens. How sharp did he look? And people don't
realize Trey Owens is six'. Five he's, like you, know
right at two hundred and twenty, pounds you, know oh,
like so he's not a small. Guy he doesn't look

that those guys again looking for consistency out of those.

but there does appear to be a little bit of
a you, know a little bit of, zip a little
bit of velocity that you don't see From Matthew caldwell
that you see compared to A Trey owens or an Arch.

gets himself caught, up and this caught my, attention you,
know on the interwebs yesterday he goes and gets himself
caught up and it high stakes illegal gambling ring high

stakes poker games that were taking place at one of
His california. Homes he is facing a federal indictment on
account of conspiracy to operate illegal gambling business out of his.
Home it's a, Charge mark that you could face five
years in prison each charge And kilbritain classic Gil arina's

would never come right because his career was shut, short

injury but a great player during his.
