Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, Kelly Dash, Hello Jonathan Tomorrow Show today working over
the hump, getting into the SHT so happy it's Thursday. Yes,
we've got some high school games going to be moved
up for Tomorrow night because of the weather. Is we
look towards the kickoff on Saturday and looking for a
break in this rain that supposed to be coming in.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Well, yeah, so for the high school games that you're
talking about, that's a Friday night kickoff. Normally they're going
to be moving to Saturday. It seems like, excuse me,
to Thursday because the rain looks like it's pretty serious
on Friday night. And we'll keep our eyes on that
seeing if more games are moving to Thursday or if
perhaps the weather will change. I mean, you still have,

(00:40):
you know, till Saturday. We still have what like seventy
two hours here or whatever. We can catch a break
and but you know, I remind people that one of
the greatest football games the game Cocks have played in
recent memory was in twenty I think eighteen, and we
were having a rough go of it and Missouri was
in town and they were beating us in the first

(01:01):
half if I remember right, and it was I remember
actually posting a photo on my way into the stadium
that day of what a perfect day it is for football.
Wasn't a cloud in the sky, wasn't very hot. It
was just a beautiful day.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
And I was.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Shocked when just as the halftime festivities began, I don't
even remember it being that cloudy. It was just like, oh,
here's some rain again, some sunshowers. The rain is really
coming down. And by the end of the halftime festivities,
the rain was going like sideways. It was like, where
where is this coming from? And the field was soaked

(01:35):
and it was a mess. And we had our backup
quarterback Michael Scarnekia in there, and the crowd, even though
I'd say, I hate to say, about half of the
people left. So we went from about eighty thousand to
forty thousand. Yeah, but those forty thousand people were very loud,
and we got a bunch of fault starts on Missouri

(01:56):
and we hung on to win that day, and that
was a great victory for the game.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
With all that in mind, two things Coach Spiemer has
already said, we need it rocket yep at ways Brice Stadium.
So if you're willing to come, you get your Pancho on.
If you're willing to stay, you know it's gonna rain
at this point, you just plan it on it. Or
maybe you're looking for people who's gonna pick us some
pick us some tickets from people who are not gonna
go stand in the ring. They're gonna be diehard fanatics.

(02:22):
You're gonna hear from them.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Look if you don't want to go, don't even try it.
I mean, look, if you're gonna eat the tickets anyway,
yeah right, just give them to a Gamecock fan.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
A true fanatics, somebody who.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Wants to stand there and scream their heads off to
try to make LSU misfire. And by the way, I
wrote a very extended piece yesterday. This is the longest
football piece I've ever written on the Morning Rush blog
at ninety seventy five WCS dot com, and I break
down why the game Cocks should win this game. I
know we're seven point underdogs going into it. I believe

(02:55):
that's a mistake if you look at it. By the way,
ESPN's computer gives us a forty nine percent chance of winning. Ooh,
so we're I mean, according to the computers, it's almost
a fifty to fifty game.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
And then the other thing that we touched on this
yesterday is that we've already been given the heads up,
don't get loud once they get to the line of scrimmage,
get loud while they're in the huddle.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Yeah, and that was from the Miami quarterback who was
chastising and mocking the Florida fans. He said something about
little advice for you fans. By the time we get
to the line, we've already communicated it's all hand signals
from here on out, So you're not affecting anything that's
not one hundred percent true. Though, because especially see now,
this is a great opportunity for us. LSU has what

(03:41):
is described as the best offensive line in America. They
are the rated number one offensive line in college football.
But they're rated because they have four starters returning pretty
much for all Americans have come back. The one difference
they got a freshman center. Now, he's a massive man,
he's six six, three hundred and ten pounds, but he's

(04:05):
a youngster. He's nineteen years old.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Uh huh.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
This will be his very first game in a hostile environment.
He's never played in front of a fan base that
hates his guts.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
So you gotta get loud when they go to the huddle,
and stay loud. Now, because we got a weakness, we
got a chink in the armor.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Possibly he might get nervous when he hears all that cry.
He might flitch. He might snap it early, he might
snap it late. Either way, that's an advantage for the
game cocks, and we need every advantage we can come
Saturday with the with the eyes of the nation upon us.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
We could just get two stutter steps. Oh, let's get
miss snap, let's go game call, I go. Okay, all right,
all that haven't been said. We'll talk about what we're
gonna talk about.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
To Laurel, Yes, we got a morning Russian regular who
she confronted the lady. Her husband said, you gotta let
that go. Do you gotta let it go? They're in
a line. Who says twelve items or less. She's says
to the lady, she counted it. You have seventeen items.

(05:05):
And so the lady said, oh, I'm sorry, I thought
it said twenty items or less. And she said, ma'am,
look at the sign.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Oh jeez, there's.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Twelve items are less. You're gonna have to leave the line.
And he's like, well, I'm already I've been waiting in
line for like five minutes. I know, but you shouldn't
have been in this line. You need to leave. The
husband said, you're making way too big a deal out
of this. But I'm the guy who says, you know what,
we got to draw the line.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Hold the line.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
If you start shaming these people, perhaps you'll get better behavior.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Out of them.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
She knew how to read the sign. She didn't think
one two min twenty right. She just decided it's pretty
close seventeen twelve ballpark.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
I do like the stories of it, kind of try
to mitigate the situation of us saying about ten items
or less about I don't like that. I want you to.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
I want you to make a policy and stand by it.
That woman needed to be moved. She was moved by
the morning Russian regular. Now her husband. I don't know
what's wrong with this guy. You're going to pick a
fight with your wife over that.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
My gosh, she's doing the right thing. When I see it,
I look like it. Oh, I could be close here.
I'll count them. If it's a ten item her last line,
and I got eleven. I'm going I get them all again,
do you really? Yeah, I'm going one over. I'm going
see I like her. She's the law and order, the

(06:33):
law and order shopper.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
You want me to take those five off your hands.
We're just returning for you right now and you can
still them being our line.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
That's Jonathan.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
There is an incredible announcement I think yesterday. So just
to bring people up to speed, I think we've all
heard of ozempic by now, and there's so basically this
is the trajectory. Ozembic was invented with a with a
drug inside of it. That's the brand name is Ozempic,

(07:03):
but the drug is something called semaglutide. The semiglutide is
what is supposed to help diabetics curb their hunger, curb
their sugar and carbohydrates cravings, and help them lower their
A one C. That's what the purpose of semaglutide was. Obviously,
if you're curbing your hunger and you're curbing your carbohydrate appetite,

(07:28):
a subsection of that is you're going to lose weight.
So what happened was people who felt fat or maybe
they were fat but they weren't diabetic started getting prescribed ozempic. Well,
the manufacturer of that something called Nova Nordsic. Nordisk said
there's an opportunity here, So then they created another shot

(07:52):
with even more semaglutide in it, and they called that Wegovy.
So with goovy is just ozempic ramped up.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
That's all that is. Right.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Again, both are designed specifically for people who have type
two diabetes, but a lot of people want to get
these shots because it helps you lose weight. Well, the
promise of ozembic originally was that you would lose about
ten percent of your body weight in six weeks or
six months, I'm sorry six months, So half a year,

(08:25):
you're gonna take ten percent of your body weight off,
which is amazing. If you're a two hundred pound person,
you're going to lose twenty pounds, which is so hard
to do, and you're gonna do that in about six months. Well,
with the Wegovy shot, that went up to twelve percent
of your body weight in the same amount of time. Well,
and they know, if you've seen, these things are selling out,

(08:48):
Like the people who are who are actually diabetic can't
get it anymore because there's so many other people who
are trying to get it. So CVS, Walgreens, whatever, they're
running out of this stuff, keep it in stock. So
now that manufacturer and by the way, I would think
this is a great idea even if they didn't put it,
is this powerful, they've decided to create something similar in

(09:12):
pill form, and according to the European Association for the
Study of Diabetes, they announced their findings yesterday on this
pill again from the manufacturers of ozempic and wigov, moving
from a shot to a pill. It's far more powerful
than the shot. So where you were going to lose
ten or twelve percent of your body weight depending on

(09:35):
the shot over six months, this is thirteen percent of
your body weight in three months.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Fascinating. Three months fascinating. Do you think it's because of
a time release? The pill shot straight in the system,
The pill has got a time release.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
I don't know. They just said that this is their
early trials are showing that it's far more powerful than
ozempic and wigov. And you know, the only thing that
I could think of about all of that is about
a year and a half ago, I think it was
we started hearing the phrase o zembic face. And if

(10:14):
you haven't heard that phrase or understand what it means.
It's basically people who lose a lot of weight in
a somewhat short period of time. You lose ten to
fifteen percent of your body weight over a year. Your
skin looks different, your face looks different, and it's not
necessarily a good look.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
And you can tell it even from people you see
on commercials. You've never seen this person before. You look
at their face and they go, wow, this is not
that's not a good looking face. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
So if you're gonna do it, if you're gonna knock
thirteen percent of your body weight in three months, your
skin is going to be in shock.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Yeah, you better start overdosing on omegas. Is it omegas
that supports your skin? I guess I don't know. I would.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
I know that a lot of these people end up
going back for cosmetic surgery where they're just shooting their
face up with fillers. Yes, they just want to get
the fat back into your face, the face. Yes, I
want I want my head to look normal. I want
the rest of my body to look thin.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
What was it three decades ago when Hier said if
a great body came into bottle, everybody would have one.
It might be coming in there, and it looks like
that time is coming here. We got to do something
by the skin.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
I mean, are we going to be at a point
So you know, I think you and I might even
mentioned this yesterday, that for whatever reason, it doesn't matter
if you're rich or not. If you're thin, you tend
to look more wealthy if you're dressed nicely than a
fat person. Yes, I wouldn't be surprised if in our lifetimes,

(11:48):
because we're now in the year twenty twenty four, this
stuff is getting modified so quickly. In the last two years,
we've seen incredible breakthroughs. So imagine in ten years from now,
if you're overweight, the assumption will just be that you
don't have the money for the good stuff, you don't
have a good enough insurance program. Are you even working?

(12:11):
You have an insurance program, because there's no reason for
you to be fifteen.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Exactly one eight from the Romans, remember back, Yeah, they
celebrate them back in Roman times. If you were overweight,
that was that was a status symbol. Yeah, great wealth.
You had food.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
Well, not only did you have food, but you had
you had the kind of food that what we would
call today wasted calorie food because most people were eating
the nutrients that you need, and it's hard to it's
hard to get obese if you're only eating vegetables, if
you're just eating I mean, you eat two pounds of

(12:47):
I don't know, tomatoes.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
And stuff out and peppers in a whole five gallon
bucket of okra.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Yeah, it's really hard to maintain. You can't eat that
much to get obese really on that. But you introduce
some mea that's expensive even back then that was expensive,
and then you can start getting fat on meat. And
then if you got some sort of who's introducing the
bake goods? Like the let him eat cake? When did

(13:13):
that come out?

Speaker 1 (13:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (13:14):
When did that stuff coming.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
To that happen?

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Oh my gosh, they got frosting? What is frosting? Can
I just od on that?

Speaker 1 (13:20):
I know the Romans didn't eat sausage because they dated
the pigs. Oh my gosh, did I say that out loud?

Speaker 2 (13:28):
I think that was your InterVoice. By the way, Blake
Shelton concert tickets tomorrow morning, eight thirty five. We've already
posted the answer. I'll give you the answer if you'd like.
I find this a fascinating question the trivia question eight
thirty five to win the Blake Shelton concert tickets. What
is Blake Shelton's unique connection to the Elvis Presley hit

(13:48):
Heartbreak Hotel? And the answer is that when Blake was
in nearing the end of high school, he took a
trip to Nashville and he met a woman named may
Burn Axton. May Bourn Axton has two claims to fame.
One she's the woman who introduced Elvis Presley to RCA Records,
so he went from Sun Records to RCA Records so

(14:11):
he could become a megastar. And two, she co wrote
Heartbreak Hotel. That's the only two things she's ever really done,
but it was enough for her to continue to offer
to live the rest of her life in Nashville. And
she said, Blake, I'm convinced just hearing you right now,
if you moved to Nashville as soon as you graduate
high school, you're gonna make it. He said done, and

(14:32):
he gre within two weeks of graduation, he was living
in Nashville, and after several months she gave him his
first job, which was painting her house. So that is
took him a longer. Tell her right, It took him
several years before he caught on in Nashville. But her

(14:53):
name again May Boren Axton, and she is the mother
of Waite Axe Waitt.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
May what's her.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Middle name boy In Borin was her actual maiden name, Okay.
And she got married to burn guy named Axton, and
together they had Hoit. Actually, Hoight's been dead now for
for thirty years or forty years. I think she might even.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
Outlive them, wouldn't surprise me.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
He died of a cocaine overdose. I believe I was
trying to think back on my outlaw country history.
