Speaker 1 (00:18):
Alrighty, Happy new Year, everybody. We are getting off to
a rough start, but I have high hopes for this year. Obviously,
we had the terror attack in New Orleans. We will
be talking about that a little bit later. We'll be
digging into what we know about that, which is still
not too much. We know a little, but we don't
know a whole lot. So we'll be getting into that.
(00:38):
But let's start off with this. Let's start off on
a positive note. Happy new Year, y'all. We made it
through twenty twenty four. Trump is on his way back,
which is great. The Republicans have a House majority, the
Republicans have a Senate majority. We can make some real
positive changes in this country. We can make some real
progress in this country. The state of Texas will have
(00:59):
a legislative session this year. I'm excited about that. We've
got good things coming there. So, you know, let's not
focus on the negatives. We'll talk about the negatives because
this is important. But I don't want people to kind
of get in that mindset of, oh my gosh, this
year is already over. It's already done for me. I'll
(01:20):
see on twenty twenty six. Let's not do that that's
not healthy. I think we're gonna have a great year.
That doesn't mean it's going to be an easy year,
but I think it is going to be a great year. So,
you know, there's a lot of things that we're leaving
behind in twenty twenty four. We'll get to the more
serious stuff in a minute, but I kind of want
to take a look back. You know, we are leaving
a lot of things behind in twenty twenty four. We're
(01:43):
leaving campaign Trump behind. We probably won't be seeing him again, unfortunately.
We're leaving the Democrat Senate majority behind. We're gonna be
leaving Joe Biden and Kamala Harris behind. There's a lot
to be happy about. But here's one thing that I
really hope we leave behind in twenty two, and that
is gender ideology. Gender ideology has been basically blown up
(02:06):
this year, and a lot of credit for that goes
to Matt Walsh at The Daily Wire. He has locked
in on this, He has focused on this very hard
and over the last twelve months, over the last year,
gender ideology has really been exposed as being a scam.
So much of this is just lies that are promoted
(02:27):
by the medical industry that makes money off of transitioning people.
That's why we have so many people pushing for the
transition of children. Right, people who aren't old enough to
get a tattoo, they can still go and decide, Hey,
I want to have a double mastectomy or I want
to have a penis removal surgery. I don't know what
(02:48):
the term for that is. I don't want to know
what the term for that is, to be honest. The
fact that we act like putting these kids on these
drugs is normal or a good thing. The fact that
we add like giving these surgeries to kids is normal
and a good thing. It's crazy. And we've made a
lot of progress doing away with that, at least for miners. Right,
(03:09):
Tennessee had a big win. They got their law pass
that bans this for miners. Hopefully will have similar laws
past nationwide, because listen, we are destroying our children and
this is something that it's hard to actually buy into
with a straight face anymore. Thanks to a lot of
the work and a lot of the exposition that has
gone on in twenty twenty four, so that's something that
(03:32):
we can be happy about. The conservative movement has scored
a lot of wins on that front, but that does
not mean that we're done. I want to bring to
your attention a video that I found on Twitter from
libs of TikTok. I found it on x I'm sorry. This,
I think perfectly exemplifies the fact that this whole gender
(03:54):
movement has gone completely off the rocker. And I think
they've done that because they know they're losing on the
side scientific front, because that used to be the argument, like,
this is just a disease that these people have and
we just need to treat it, and the way to
treat it is you cut their breasts off. That logic
didn't hold up. So as a response, the left that
has been pushing this just threw logic completely out the window.
(04:15):
Take a listen to this video and gosh, I don't
even know what to say. Let me just let it
speak for itself, because it is crazy.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
Did you know, however, there is a gender identity that
is linked to the seasons. This is called gender season.
And this is a gender identity I've only just learned about.
It's a micro identity. It's not an identity that I
have ever heard discussed before. It's a new one for me,
and a season is an individual who explores the gender
(04:43):
identity in relation to a season or all the seasons.
So this might be somebody whose gender expression and identity
is linked to one season, so for example winter, or
this might be somebody whose gender identity and expression changes
depending on the season.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
You heard it here first, ladies and gentlemen, you can
identify as seasons. I mean, they've completely stopped trying to
make this make sense, which I guess I can respect that, right, Like,
at least you're not trying to tell me that this
is science. That's a plus because we've known the whole
time it wasn't. We've known the whole time that it
wasn't safe and normal to give puberty blockers to children.
(05:21):
We've known the entire time that people who undergo these
surgeries at a very young age very often end up
regretting them. This hasn't been up for debate, This hasn't
been a question. We've all known this. We've all known
that the science wasn't here, But for so long they've
been lying to our faces about it. Guess what, it's
(05:42):
not working anymore. People are paying attention. Now we can
actually see the data, the data that you're trying to
hide the data that shows that this is not a
good idea, This is not safe, and we do not
need to be doing this, and so they've just given up.
Now they're going to just crazy. You can identify with
the seasons. What does that even mean? Now, Democrats, in
(06:02):
typical fashion, are trying to keep this alive. And by Democrats,
I mean Bill Nye. Bill Night was just awarded the
Presidential Medal of Freedom, which I mean Joe Biden has
just been handing those out to everybody today. I think
Hillary Clinton got one, which makes no sense to me.
But here's Bill Nye talking about how gender and even
sex isn't binary and kids should absolutely be taught about this.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
One thing's clear about sexuality. There's a lot more going
on than meets the eye. One female or male, gay
or straight, pink or blue. We were taught to see
these as binary. Now we're realizing it's more like a
Colina school. And this stuff isn't just for adults. Parents
(06:46):
know this already. Kids explore gender expression attraction before they've
ever heard of a spectrum. Take sex, we used to
think it was pretty straightforward X and a Y chromosome
for males two x'es for female, but we see more
combinations than that in real life, and even for people
with just two sex chromosomes, hormones can vary wildly, so
(07:09):
can anatomy. What makes someone male or female? This is
so clear cut when you throw in gender, it gets even.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
More colorful by three or four.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
Most kids identify with a gender, and it doesn't always
match the sex they were assigned at birth, and a
person's gender identity may change over their lifetime. And culture
is getting us new ways to express all of this.
How you dress, how you act and talk, how you
present yourself to the world, it should be up to you. Sure,
this might make things confusing for those who insist everyone
(07:42):
pick an.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
M or an F with people.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
We have to listen to the science, and the science
says we're all on a spectrum.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
Okay, the science does not say that. The science never
has said that, And that's why this ideology is collapsing.
And it's incredibly sick that these people keep trying to
imply that children need to be picking their own genders.
They don't, they shouldn't be, they can't. This is ridiculous
and it's dangerous, and I'm so glad that the party
pushing it has been pushed out of power by regular
(08:10):
Americans who understand that this is dangerous garbage. All right,
we're gonna get into the real, actual news in just
a second, so sit tight. After some ads, we'll be
right back. Okay. So, unfortunately, we do need to spend
a little bit of time talking about this attack in
New Orleans. This was an incredible tragedy. If you're not
familiar with what happened. About three o'clock New Year's morning,
(08:33):
some guy plowed his car through Bourbon Street, which, of course,
if you know anything about New Orleans, that's where people
to go to hang out and drink in the street.
I've never been, I don't ever plan on going. It
does not seem like that great of a time to me,
but it's an incredibly popular spot for basically any type
of party, Christmas, New Year's, Marty Grass specially, that street
(08:56):
is always crammed full of people. Now, there's supposed to
be barriers in what in place to prevent exactly what happened.
For some reason, they weren't working, which that right there.
We need to have a serious discussion about why that happened,
because how much money did taxpayers spend on putting those
barriers in place, and then they weren't working. That's at
(09:18):
very least a waste of taxpayer money, And unfortunately, it's
a waste of taxpayer money that cost those taxpayers real
people living real lives. It cost them their life because
of government and competence. The government's job is to step
in in situations like that and, you know, do something
to keep the people safe. They didn't. They failed at
(09:39):
their job. Now, I have a lot of friends that
are in and from Louisiana, and thankfully none of them
were involved, none of them were injured, Praise God for that.
But everything I have heard from them is this is
probably a symptom of the fact that New Orleans and
Louisiana hall is a very corrupt state. It's a very
corrupt place. There's a lot of government corruption. That's what
(09:59):
I've heard. It makes sense. You give the contract to
maintain these to whoever, your buddy, your pal, and they
don't do it. It's a set it and forget it,
and your friend gets a payday. That wouldn't surprise me.
So that type of thing has cost people their lives before,
and it will cost people their lives. Again, we have
got to be holding our government to account on every
little thing, even the smallest thing. We think there's no
(10:22):
way this will matter, it might. It might. Because this
guy killed fifteen people with a truck because the car
barriers weren't working. Something simple that nobody thought ever really
mattered cost fifteen people their lives, and a whole bunch
more were really severely hurt. So that's a big problem.
But that's not even the biggest concern here. The biggest concern,
(10:44):
as far as I'm concerned, is the fact that we
had an American citizen, because this guy was an American
citizen on American soil that got so radicalized by Islam,
by radical Islam, that he went and got an ice flag,
put it on the back of a pickup truck, and
then rammed that pickup truck through a crowd of people
(11:05):
that were just trying to celebrate New Years. That, to me,
is the biggest concern. We have got to start examining
the fact that radical Islamist ideology is not compatible with
American freedoms. It just is not. And I think the
root of this problem is the amount of time that
we as Western society have spent telling ourselves that we
(11:27):
are evil. We have spent so much time as just
kind of Western nations beating ourselves over the back for
all the terrible things that white people may or may
not have done throughout all of history, or that Western
society or Christians or whoever have done throughout all of history.
And if you look at twenty twenty and everything that
happened that summer, when we had the riots and everything,
(11:50):
you saw people completely trying to tear down American society.
I mean that was their openly stated goal. They would
go through and they would destroy regular American monuments to
American heroes, people like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, regular things
like the American Declaration of Independence and Constitution and the
people who wrote that have been completely villainized. And you
(12:14):
constantly hear this at every level of education, in business,
in the modern world. It's everywhere. It's impossible to escape
from it. And here's the thing. When you completely remove
the Western values that built America and England and basically
all of Europe, there's consequences to that. You have to
replace those values with something. And when you don't have
(12:36):
a strong American tradition, that you're teaching children raising them
in then they become increasingly susceptible to ideologies from groups
like ISIS. And I don't know for sure if that's
what happened in this particular case, but it's a real
problem at some point. The perpetrator of this attack, who
is now dead, and I'm not going to say his name,
(12:57):
just because one I can't pronounce it, and two I
don't want to give him credit and encourage copycats, because
that is a real concern that the FBI has now.
But this guy went from I am willing to put
my life on the line and serve this country in
the military, because he did serve in the military and
deployed to Afghanistan in two thousand and nine. He went
(13:17):
from that to this country is so evil that I'm
going to adopt the ideology of radical Islam and ISIS,
which is completely oppositional to the freedoms and liberties that
we have here in the United States and all of
the ideals that we built this country on. And then,
in order to make my case, I'm going to plow
(13:40):
a Ford f one point fifty lightning through a crowd
of people that are just celebrating the New Year's We
know for a fact that this was an ideologically driven
terrorist attack, there's no question about that. And listen, there
is no way to actually completely stop these attacks. There's
no way in a free society to be sure that
nobody is ever going to snap and kill a bunch
(14:01):
of people. That's one of the unfortunate risks that we
all assume when we live in a free society. You
have the freedom to do what you want. Other people
have the freedom to do what they want, and some
people might abuse that freedom. Now, thankfully we have a
justice system in place. When that happens, people are punished,
but it will still happen sometimes. So what do we
do here? What we have to come after this ideology?
(14:24):
That's the only solution. We can't ban guns. We need them,
that's a fact. It's a god given right to have
a weapon. You need a weapon. If you don't have one,
go buy one. Thankfully, we have freedoms to move about
this country, and automobiles are and should remain legal and
easily available to the public. So what do we do here?
We have to look at why he attacked these people.
(14:44):
The reason he attacked these people is because he had
been sucked in to a radical Islamist ideology. How do
you do that? How do you combat in ideology? The
only way to combat in ideology is with a better one.
That's it. The only thing you can do is say, hey,
look at the countries that hold to this radical islam ideology.
They're terrible. It's a terrible place to live. People have
(15:07):
no freedoms, none whatsoever. Versus, look at this. We built
this country on the right to life, liberty, and pursuit
of happiness and other inherently Western Christian ideals, and it's great.
This is the greatest country in the world. That is
an objective fact, and the ideals that this country was
built on are clearly and objectively good. The only way
(15:28):
that we can actually combat this, these disgusting acts of
terrorism that are motivated by an evil ideology, the only
way we can do that is by promoting the ideology
that we built this country on that is good and works.
We have been told for years, by democrats, by leftists,
by whoever, that what we built this country on is
(15:50):
bad and evil. It's not. It's just not bad and evil.
So the way that we stop these from happening is
make sure that the people that come into this country,
that move here, that try to live here, are people
that agree with the values we've built this country on,
and not the ones that want to destroy it. We
need to make sure that if you come into this country,
you understand that America is not the radical Islamination that
(16:12):
you came from. It never will be, it should not be,
and you need to learn to accept that if you
want to live here. And then what we need to
do is we need to start teaching our children again
that this is a good country. We cannot keep having
these college kids running around that are convinced, almost through
no fault of their own, that they live in an
(16:32):
evil country because they've been taught this from basically kindergarten
all the way through college. And that's why you have
a mass protest in support of Palestine the same day
that we have this big terror attack. Literally just a
few hours after this attack, people took through the streets
in New York in support of Palestine, which is a
(16:54):
radical Muslim nation. I don't even know if it's technically
a nation. I don't know where we landed on what
Palestine is or is not. I'm not here to argue
about that. I don't care. It's in the Middle East,
whatever we want to call it a nation state or
what have you. It is built on radical Islam and
it is a terrible place to live. It is god awful,
and it's run by people who believe, truly that terrorism
(17:17):
is completely fine and a reasonable way to get what
you want in the political world. That is bad. And
you really think that it's a coincidence that all these
people decided to go march in the streets right after
this happened, No, it's not. These people believe what that
guy did, that America is evil, American ideals are evil.
(17:39):
And until we start teaching our young people that actually
America is a pretty great place and the ideas that
built it are also pretty great. Until that happens, we
will see more of this, be it from people who
come to this country in order to do these terrorist attacks,
or from people who are homegrown, just like this guy was.
He was born in Beaumont, which is just outside of Houston,
(18:00):
and he was raised there and he lived in Houston
at the time of this terror attack. This was a
homegrown terror threat. And as long as we keep teaching
young people that America is bad and our ideology is bad.
We will see more of this and they will probably
get worse. I pray to God that we learn from
this and do better. All right, let's talk about the
(18:22):
speaker vote, because that happened on what was it Friday?
The new Congress of the one hundred and nineteenth Congress
was sworn in, and right after they did that, they
voted who would be the speaker, and it all ended
up being Mike Johnson. We knew that was going to happen.
Nobody seriously thought that somebody other than Mike Johnson was
(18:43):
going to be the House Speaker barring some like cataclysmic
breakdown from the Republican Caucus and Hakim Jeffreys, the Democrat,
manages to accidentally become speaker. That was the only other
thing that was going to happen. There was never a
third option. We all knew this going into this, and
and there's been a bunch of controversy with regards to that.
But before we get to that, I want to talk
(19:06):
about something that happened in the middle of the vote.
As we all know, America possesses a number of territories.
These are pieces of land that America owns that people
live on that are not states. Okay, places like Puerto Rico, Guam,
the US Virgin Islands, these are not states. They are
possessions of the United States of America. People live on them,
(19:29):
they are American citizens. They do not get a vote
in the House of Representatives because they are not states.
It's that simple. It always has been that simple, it
always will be that simple. These are not states. They
do not get a vote in the Senate. They do
get representation. They have delegates, and I believe the technical
term for whoever is in d C is a resident commissioner,
quote unquote, But DC is not a state. Washington, d
(19:52):
C is not a state, nor should it be. We
can have conversations about these other territories later down the line,
but right now they are not states. Okay. Is everybody
following with me up to this point. If not, we
wind it listen again. It's not that complicated. So in
the middle of the vote, Democrat delegates Stacy Plaskett, who
I believe is from, Okay, it's the Virgin Islands. That's
(20:15):
where she's from. She represents the Virgin Islands. She's a delegate,
not a representative, so she does not get to vote again,
Virgin Islands is not a state, it's a territory. We
own it. It is not part of the United States.
It is owned by the United States. Those are different.
She does not get to vote. She gets to basically
just sit there and look good. And I guess, lobby
(20:38):
I don't actually know what their function is because they
don't vote, so I don't know why they're there. But
in the middle of everybody voting for the speaker, of course,
they're calling the names Representative so and so, who do
you vote for? A Representative so and so, who do
you vote for? And they skipped over all of these
delegates because they don't get to vote in the first place.
So here is Stacey Plaskett whining and complaining about that
(20:59):
and wasting everybody's time making the parliamentarian explain the rules
to her in front of the entire United States of
America because she can't just read the rule book, sit
down and shut up.
Speaker 4 (21:11):
Names of the representatives from the America, Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana,
Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the District of Columbia
were not called, representing collectively four million Americans. Mister Speaker,
(21:47):
collectively the largest per capita of veterans in this country.
Ask why they were not called? Have some respect.
Speaker 1 (21:59):
It's not going to take that.
Speaker 4 (22:05):
And ladies recognized, I asked why they were not called
from the Parliamentarian police.
Speaker 5 (22:10):
Delegates elect and the Resident Commissioner elect are not qualified
to vote. Representatives elect are the only individuals qualified to
vote in the election of a speaker, as provided in
section thirty six of the House Rules in manual. The
speaker is elected is elected by a majority of the
members elect, voting by surname.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
Audi.
Speaker 4 (22:33):
And this nation has a territories and a colony's problem.
What was supposed to be temporary has now effectively become permanent.
We must do something about this drama so that these
poor milk.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
Of course, this is such obnoxious diva behavior, and she
knew it, and everybody knew it. You know why your
name wasn't called because you can't vote, and you know
(23:17):
you can't vote. You stopped everything to grandstand. People have
been complaining a lot about how some of the Republicans,
namely Thomas Massey who didn't vote for Mike Johnson, were grandstanding.
Why is nobody calling out this? This is grandstanding of
the highest order, and then she's like, have some respect.
It's not going to take that long. It shouldn't take
(23:40):
any time because you know the rules. You know the rules.
You're not stupid. You know you can't vote. You know
you represent a territory, not a state. You do not
have a vote. Your name should not have been called.
It's so obnoxious. And of course you have all the
Democrats going and cheering like yay, yes, call them out,
(24:00):
call them out for not letting you vote. And then
she's like, we have a territories and a colony's problem.
No we don't, No, we don't. If you want to
be a state that bad, start campaigning for that, start
working towards that. But don't hold up actual business of
the United States House in order to grandstand because you
want to be able to vote. If the people who
(24:22):
live in these territories really want to be represented by
an actual vote in Congress, that bad. They can't move
to states, nothing is stopping them. They all have American citizenship.
They can all move to any other part of the
country and have a representative in Congress that can vote.
This is grandstanding of the highest order, just because you
want attention, and it's the most obnoxious thing I've ever
(24:45):
seen in my life. And she knew the entire time.
She was just doing that for attention. That's all it was.
She was just doing it for attention. And of course
the Democrats are cheering. I mean, she was just using
this as an opportunity to give a little speech because
she knows the moment this is done, nobody's gonna care
about her at all. This was her chance to get
(25:05):
her moment for the year, because for the rest of
the year, nobody cares what she has to say. She
does not have a vote. All that aside. At the
end of the day, after three people voted against Mike Johnson,
we thought it was going to take a little bit
longer to get a speaker. But then before they actually
(25:27):
officially read out the vote and tallied it, two members
went back and actually changed their mind. And these people
are being blasted right now by members of the Republican base,
kind of the MAGA above all else people, the Trump siccophants,
which I have nothing against these people, they just maybe
pay a little bit too much heed to the things
(25:48):
Donald Trump says. That's my only gripe. I like Trump,
I like these people. It's nothing against any of them,
but they're attacking the wrong target here. Like Representative Keith self,
he's one of those people that initially voted I believe
for Byron don or maybe it was Jim Jordan, and
then went back and later changed their vote before it
was actually counted. So the reason he did this and
the reason all three of them, it was Keith's self,
(26:10):
one other guy whose name I'm blanking on, and Thomas Massey.
These are people who are hardline fiscal conservatives and the
budget battle was like a bridge too far for them,
and so they didn't want to support Mike Johnson for Speaker,
and then they went back and changed their vote. So
here's Keith's self talking about what happened. He said, my
(26:32):
sole focus was advancing the Trump agenda. To ensure this,
I expressed concerns to Speaker Johnson about fiscal responsibility and
holding the line on deficit spending key priorities for my constituents.
After receiving firm assurances from the Speaker that Republicans in
the House will have strong representation during the budget reconciliation process,
a cornerstone of President Trump's agenda, I changed my initial vote.
(26:54):
I appreciate Speaker Johnson addressing these critical issues. Let's get
to work. That's a great statement. Okay, that is a
great statement, because here's something that I don't think people
pay enough attention to. Representatives are not there to represent
the party. They're not there to represent the GOP. They're
there to represent their constituents. For some of these representatives,
their constituents number one issue is the budget. Okay. Their
(27:19):
job in Congress is not to represent the GOP. It's
not to push the Trump agenda. Thankfully, the Trump agenda
and the GOP agenda tend to align with a lot
of the kind of conservative priorities that these voters have,
and that's great. But their job is not to push
Trump's agenda. Their job is to push their district's agenda.
(27:41):
The people in their district, people like Keith self, people
like Thomas Massey. Their voters want a hardline fiscal conservative.
That's what they want. That's what Thomas Massey gave them.
He didn't change his vote back to Speaker Johnson. He
was the one vote from the Republican Party against Speaker Johnson.
When it was also and done. He said on X yesterday,
(28:02):
a lot of people who complain that politicians like principles
and just go along to get along, urge their representatives
to ignore their principles and just go along to get along.
We reap what we sow. Thomas Massey is not necessarily
wrong here, and the people that are blasting Thomas Massey,
I mean, we all want the budget to be balanced.
We want fiscal conservatism, right, that's what we all keep
(28:25):
saying we're voting for here on the Republican Party. Thomas Massey,
he's actually doing that, and he's not making exceptions, which
you can point out that that's not necessarily realistic. You
can point out that that's not pragmatic, and you'd be
one hundred percent right. But rather than going and blasting
Thomas Massey and talking about how much we want to
primary him, how about we take those efforts and focus
(28:46):
them on getting more people like Thomas Massey elected. Let's
actually use our resources to convince the American people that
it's better to be fiscally conservative. That way they elect
people that will represent that interest in Congress. That would
be a much better use of our time and resources.
Because Massey isn't wrong here. He's fighting a losing battle
(29:07):
and what he data amounted to absolutely nothing, But what
he did was actually technically correct. He represented faithfully the
chief issue of his voters. That is one hundred percent
his job, and Johnson became the speaker anyway. So no harm,
no foul, all right. So the last thing I want
to talk about is yesterday was, of course January sixth.
(29:28):
So what I'm not going to do is talk about
January sixth of twenty twenty, because at this point it's
not worth discussing. We've been talking about this for four
freaking years. I'm frankly tired of it. I'm frankly tired
of it. Obviously, I hope a lot of the people
that are in jail get out. They shouldn't be there.
This was an abuse throwing them in jail like that,
(29:48):
But that's neither here nor there. Until they actually get
out of jail, there is nothing worth talking about about
January sixth of twenty twenty.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
Now.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
Of course, as we all know, the Democrats have done
nothing but talk about January sixth of twenty twenty since
it happened. I mean you saw this in their campaign, right. Look,
the entire year, all they've been talking about is Donald
Trump's felonies and January sixth constantly, and they've just used
this as a way to take the moral high ground
(30:17):
and try to beat Republicans and conservatives over the head
with it. It's been constant, it's been obnoxious, and the
Republicans by and large have fed into it, which I
didn't ever understand. I think jd. Vance took the right
approach to this. When he was asked about January six
he was like, listen, I'm busy focusing on what's going
on right now. I don't care about January sixth, and
(30:39):
I think that's the way most Americans feel. So the
fact that we've been forced to listen to the Democrats
constantly complain about this, and of course we now know
that it really was not half as bad as they
say it was. The mainstream narrative around January sixth has
completely collapsed. We now know that it's pretty much a
bunch of old people who were just wandering around a
(31:01):
wide open capital. The police officers let them in, the
doors were wide open. Everybody can see this. The footage
is out there, it's available, it's not hard to find.
January sixth was not an insurrection. I'm tired of us
pretending it was, and I'm tired of us talking about it.
Did some people do some bad things? Yeah? Did they
break windows that they shouldn't have Yeah? Did they maybe
go in a few restricted areas of the Capitol that
(31:22):
they weren't allowed to Yes, but the police let them
do it. So who cares? I frankly do not. But
the Democrats have been constantly grandstanding about this. They've taken
the moral high road, and they've constantly been beating us
over the face with it, and they didn't stop. Yesterday,
Kamala Harris put out this video. Right before she went
out and certified her election loss. She put out this
(31:44):
video grand standing about how she was about to do that.
Take a listen to this. It will. If your eyes
don't roll into the back of your head when you're
listening to this, there's something wrong with you. But take
a listen.
Speaker 6 (31:57):
The peaceful transfer of power is one of the most
fundamental principles of American democracy. As much as any other principle.
It is what distinguishes our system of government from monarchy
or tyranny. Today, at the United States Capital, I will
perform my constitutional duty as Vice President of the United
States to certify the results of the twenty twenty four election.
(32:21):
This duty is a sacred obligation one I will uphold,
guided by love of country, loyalty to our Constitution, and
my unwavering faith in the American people.
Speaker 1 (32:34):
As we have.
Speaker 6 (32:35):
Seen, our democracy can be fragile, and it is up
to then each one of us to stand up for
our most cherished principles and to make sure that in
America our government always remains of the people, by the people,
(32:56):
and for the people. May God bless you and God
bless the United States of America.
Speaker 1 (33:03):
Okay, first of all, that's got to be one of
the most annoying voices in politics today. It's her and
Alexandria Acasio Cortes AOC. They're like top two for most
annoying sounding voices in Congress or in politics period because
Cortes is in Congress and Kamala Harris is on her
way out of the Senate technically because she's the President
(33:23):
of the Senate. But all that is besides the point.
She always sounds like she's talking down and lecturing, Like
I felt like a six year old being lectured about
how the government works, sitting and listening to Kamala Harris
just then. So I'm very excited that we won't have
to hear that anymore. But what I want to point
out to you about that video is it once again
(33:47):
really exposes all the bull crap that we've been fed
about how Trump and the Republicans are a threat to democracy.
Because remember that has been the line, and that has
been the line about January sixth, right like January sixth
was a threat to democracy because Donald Trump did that,
which he didn't, he is a threat to democracy. So literally,
for this entire last year of twenty twenty four, we
(34:08):
were told Donald Trump is a threat to democracy. You
have to vote Donald Trump, keep him out of office to
protect democracy. If Donald Trump wins, our democracy is over.
It's this is it, this is our last chance. Otherwise
will become a tyranny and Donald Trump will take over
and be Adolf Hitler and we'll never have another election again.
That's what we were told for months. And now the
(34:33):
line has become we have to certify this election because
of how much we love democracy. Right, Remember it was
keep Donald Trump out of office at all costs because
we love democracy, and then it became let Donald Trump
into office because we love democracy. Now, those two things
can't both be true at once. My issue with this
(34:56):
video that she put out is not that anything she
said is technically wrong. A lot of what she said
is technically correct. You know, we have elections. That's the
cornerstone of our system. We have to respect the system.
Everybody is. It is up to each person in office
to respect their oath of office and do the transfer
of power and whatnot every four years when that becomes necessary.
(35:17):
She's completely correct. My gripe with this is that, first
of all, it's condescending. She's trying to say, Look, look
what I'm doing. Even though our party lost, I'm still
going to certify the election, which is what Donald Trump
didn't want to do in twenty twenty. That's what she's
trying to say without saying it. And second of all,
(35:38):
what she's actually saying is the complete opposite of what
she's been saying since Joe Biden was running and then
since she was running. You can't have it both ways, lady.
Either Donald Trump is a threat to democracy right now
or he never was, and if he never was, you
need to come out and say that. You need to
come out and say, hey, sorry, we lie to you.
(36:00):
It's just trying to get you worked up so you
get out and vote for me. And it didn't work.
So now I have to just kind of pour water
on this fire and certify the election of Donald Trump.
And of course that's exactly what she did yesterday. It
went off without a hitch. It was great to watch.
If you didn't watch it, go back on YouTube and
watch it, or I've reposted it on my x page
so you can watch it there. It's really fun to
(36:22):
sit and watch Kamala Harris certify her own election loss.
I don't know why. Maybe it's just the fact that
I really dislike Kamala Harris so strongly. That might be
part of it, but there's just a really I really
just get joy out of watching her lose, just because
I really don't like her, just because she's such a nasty,
awful person. But all of Conservatism got to do a
(36:45):
little victory lap. And Mike Johnson then got up there,
and of course he was standing smirking right next to
Kamala Harris the entire time she was certifying the election.
So that was fun to watch. But take a listen
to Mike Johnson on Newsmatt doing the victory lap that
we all get to do right now. If you voted
for Trump, you get to share in this We won. Haha.
(37:06):
It didn't work. Your whole plan to lead us on
for four years about how god awful and terrible Donald
Trump was and is didn't work because we all saw
through it, and we all can clearly see that the
left and the Democrat Party is horrible at governance. So
here is Mike Johnson talking about that, talking about that victory.
Speaker 7 (37:27):
This was a landslide for President Trump. But we're so
excited about that, and we got to certify that today
and make history. We made history in a number of ways. Greted.
This is the first time since nineteen eighty eight that
no Democrat in the House objected to the certification of
a Republican victory for President. I think that's because we
did exactly what President Trump said that we should do,
(37:49):
and that is make it too big to rig, and
we did. And this is a mandate from the American
people and we are very much ready to get to
work on this agenda now.
Speaker 1 (37:58):
Mike Johnson did a great job of pointing out there
the fact that everything they told us was so abnormal
about January sixth, because remember, it wasn't just the protests
that they demonized. It wasn't just the fact that people
entered the Capitol when they probably shouldn't have. That they demonized,
They demonized and went after even freakin' Ted Cruz just
(38:21):
because he rallied some people to oppose the certification. That's
a normal part of this. There is always oppositions to
the certification of the election. I mean, of course, there's
a famous case in two thousand where that election had
to go all the way to the Supreme Court because
al Gore, who had lost, was contesting that loss. The
(38:41):
fact of the matter here is objection to this is normal.
There's dissent. That's a regular part of this process, and
that's not necessarily a bad thing. But the problem here
is the left has begun to demand absolute adherents from
everyone on everything, and it's why they're starting to lose
because nobody wants to be part of one big bluff.
(39:03):
We are individuals. There's things that we need to unite around,
but we also need to have disagreements and have discussions,
and that's okay. And just because you disagree with the
Democrats or the Left, that doesn't make you an evil person.
All right, That's all I've got. I hope y'all had
a great New Year, great holiday, and I hope you
have a great twenty twenty five because I'm excited about it.
Speaker 4 (39:21):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (39:22):
I'll see y'all next week.
