Speaker 1 (00:02):
From the heart of the Space City to the heart
of gen Z. Welcome to Next Gen Conversation, not Dad's
Talk Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Ethan talks to you about the issues and events the
men are who our generation.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
This is the Next Gen Report with Ethan.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
You can't in that.
Speaker 4 (00:23):
Hey, everybody, good Sunday evening to you. I hope you're
all doing well. I'm doing great.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Leave him my best life.
Speaker 4 (00:30):
I can't sing that song because I don't have the
rights to it, and now I'm get in trouble. And
also I'm not allowed to say half the lyrics and
that song because it's not wholesome.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Well, Hey, everybody, I hope you've been doing well.
Speaker 4 (00:42):
I've been having a great time, primarily because I've just
been watching the left and it's fun.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
They're funny. They're funny people.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
And part of that is because they take themselves so seriously.
The other part is because they take themselves so seriously
and they're so wrong about so, so, so many things.
One of the uh I think all time best things
about Donald Trump is he understands this, and so he
(01:13):
pokes and prods them. He teases the left quite a bit,
and they fall for it every single time. He basically
just rage bates them, so then we can all go
look and see how funny it is that they're getting
so upset at Donald Trump. One of my favorite examples
of this is a recent example Gavin Newsom received from
somebody apparently a close supporter or donor or somebody inside
(01:38):
the Trump circle.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
He received a Trump.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
Twenty twenty eight hat. Now, I believe Trump has already said, yeah,
I'm not running for a third term. Obviously, we all
know he's not running for a third term. Nobody seriously
considers or seriously thinks that Donald Trump will run for
a third term.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
And if they do, I.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
Would I would posit to you that that's not somebody
worth actually having a conversation with, because they're stupid. We
all know Donald Trump is not going to seek a
third term because he's not allowed to have one.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
He knows that. We know that.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
Everybody knows that. But he's got this Trump twenty twenty
eight march out there. You can go buy it. It's
a fun joke, right, We like to mess around, We
do a little trolling. That's okay, right, Gavin Newsom can't
have it. He got one of these Trump twenty twenty
eight hats and he, bless his heart, was not ready.
(02:28):
He had basically a breakdown on TV talking about how,
oh this is proof right here. Donald Trump is the
threat to democracy.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
We warns you. Look, he's going to seek a third term.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
He's an authoritarian who hates capitalism and wants to destroy
the country or whatever. Take a listen to this. I mean,
he really does take this so seriously. Bless his heart.
Speaker 5 (02:52):
Well, I think it's pretty sick and pathetic. And it's
just said everything you need to know, the setting that
we're under, that they chose the time mannor in place
to send their district director outside right when we're about
to have this Presscott said everything you know about Donald
Trump's America, and that was top down. You know that
for a fact.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
They'll deny it. I'm sure maybe they won't deny it.
Speaker 5 (03:14):
Should everything you know about the authoritarian tendencies of the
president of the United States. I said in a moment
to wake up America. Wake up, you will not have
a country if he riggs this election. You will have
a president will be running for a third term.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
Mark my word.
Speaker 5 (03:30):
I wasn't exaggerating when I said that I received in
the mail at Trump twenty twenty eight at and one
of his biggest supporters. These guys are not screwing around.
The rules do not apply to them. The most corrupt
president in history. He doesn't believe in free enterprise, crony capitalism.
He is wrecking this country, wrecking the economy. He's a
(03:53):
lawless president.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
All Right, buddy, it's a hat. Calm down. I'm so
sorry that happened to you. I'm so you got a joke. Hat.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
I hope you're able to recover. God, this guy's so ridiculous.
He's so silly. I mean, he's losing his mind at
the joke that Trump could run for a third term,
which is a joke. Everybody knows this is a joke,
even the Republicans who were saying it, Oh, Trump is
going to run for a third term.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
We're joking. It's a joke. We're kidding.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
But since we're on the subject of presidents seeking extra terms,
friendly reminder that Roosevelt. I think he did three, but
he may have done as many as four terms. I
don't remember. I need to brush up on my history.
I know he did at least three presidential terms. He's
the only president ever to do it the only one,
and he was a Democrat, So I mean take that
(04:49):
for what it's worth. Historically speaking, the three term president
party is the Democrat Party, so you know, be that
as it may. He also made the point in there
you heard it that oh, Donald Trump was wrecking the economy.
And you know, I'm not gonna sit here and say
the economy is perfect, because I think we all know
it's not. But the idea that it's being wrecked, especially
(05:11):
by Donald Trump, I don't think is based in reality.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
There's room to grow.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
We all know that it takes time to recover from
the damage Joe Biden did. But the claim that Donald
Trump is wrecking the economy is obviously false. It's so
obviously false that even CNN is being forced to admit this,
and they're actually shocked that the economy is doing pretty good.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Again, not perfect.
Speaker 4 (05:35):
We've got room to grow, We've got some improvements to make,
but it's doing pretty good. Even CNN has to admit that.
Here is them being absolutely baffled that the economy is
not in the toilet. Take a listen to them reporting
on the July Consumer price Index and they're shocked at
how good it is.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
What are you saying a tamer inflation report despite President
Trump's tariffs. This is better than expected month over month,
as you mentioned, at point two percent on an annual basis,
up two point seven percent in July. That's also what
we saw on an annual basis for the month of June.
When you look at the key categories that we always
look at, energy, food, and shelter. Energy fell by one
(06:16):
point one percent. That was largely driven because of gas
prices falling in the month of July by two point
two percent.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
Look at that food, I.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
Mean, this is where people spend their money, right, food
every single day. Food flat zero percent and actually down
at the grocery store by point one percent.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
And then shelter we always.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
Usually see an increase because that is what people are
paying on rent, and we know that rents are rising.
That is usually the biggest share of this report.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
They're baffled by this, they're shocked, they can't believe it.
But if you voted for Trump, you knew this was
going to happen. We were told this for a long time.
There's going to be economic improvement. It's not going to
happen overnight. It would be ridiculous to expect that. But
things are getting better, and at the very very least
(07:08):
they're not getting worse, which is what they were doing
consistently under Joe Biden. So, you know, Gavin Newsom losing
his mind over a potential Trump twenty twenty eight. Personally,
I think that might be a good thing, just based
on the economic data we're getting. That was a joke,
Gavin Newsom, I'm kidding, that was a joke. We don't
(07:28):
actually want Trump to run for a third term. We
want a new president. We wanted to be jd Vance.
I wanted to be Jadvance. Anyway, Listen, we've got a
great show coming up. Thank you very much for tuning in.
Stay tuned. We've got a whole hour. I'll be here
till eight o'clock, so sit tight. We'll be right back
after this break. I'm Ethan Buchanan. This is the Next
gener Report.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
Hey, welcome back to the Next Gen Report.
Speaker 4 (08:21):
All right, I'm gonna do a quick self promo, but
there's a there's a purpose behind it, all right, so
don't tune out, all right, follow me on X at Underscore.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Ethan Buchanon.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
That's spelled b U c h A N A N
here's why there's actually a reason behind this. I don't
just want more attention, obviously I do. I'm a radio host.
We want attention, we need attention.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
Please, but I want you to be educated.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
Up today, we're gonna be talking this segment about the
Texas Legislature and everything going on there. And this has
been moving very, very quickly. All right, there's updates every
thirty minutes. Basically, there's not a good way to stay
up to date with everything going on as quickly as
(09:10):
everything happens and changes without really being on X. And
this isn't a paid promo for X. I've just found
that in my work as kind of a reporter and host,
X has become my number one tool. I stay so
up to date on so many things because of X,
And a lot of what we're going to be talking
(09:31):
about has actually occurred on X. It's where news happens,
it is, and so you should be on X if
you want to stay informed, especially about the Texas legislature.
And you should want to be informed about the Texas legislature,
especially if you live here in Texas, because it affects
your life a lot more than any other place, probably
except maybe your county government. So it's important you should
(09:54):
stay up to date. The best way to stay up
to date I have found is X. And since you're
on X, you might as well follow me already. All right,
So let's dig into everything that has transpired over the
last several days in Austin. Of course, we did talk
a lot with Briscocaine about this recently state where at Briscocane.
(10:15):
If you are not up to date on that, go
listen to the podcast. We had a great conversation on Wednesday.
It actually re aired here on AM nine to fifty
KPRC Saturday morning. Tune in at seven PMS or seven
am on Saturdays because sometimes we're we're here again every
now and again, not always, but sometimes, so tune in there.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
So, as was.
Speaker 4 (10:38):
Predicted, the first special session of the eighty ninth Legislature
came to a close without the Democrats being there. Here's
a little bit of what that sounded like of Speaker
Dustin Burrows gabling out the legislature because once again on
Friday at ten am, we did not have a quorum.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Take a listen, there being ninety five members present, a
quorum is not present. Mister Garren moves at the House
of Representatives of the first called Session of the eighty
ninth Legislature. Stand adjourned, Sini die is their objection? Chair,
here's none. House stands adjourned.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
SINNI died, all right, So that's them gabbling out and
the Democrats did a victory lap.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
They went nuts about this.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
The Texas House Democrat Caucus official ex page tweeted out, breaking,
after we issued our conditions to return home yesterday, the
Texas Republicans have given in and ended their corrupt special session.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Okay, we didn't give in and end the corrupt space.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
This is the regularly scheduled end of the special session.
I don't know how much you know about Texas Legislature
special sessions. They can only go for thirty days at
a time, or maybe it's thirty one days. I don't
know exactly, but thirty to thirty one basically one month
at a time, and then you have to gabble out
and call a new special session. So this wasn't some
(12:08):
big victory they defeated us. This was we all knew
this was going to happen. This was the regularly scheduled
end of the special session. But what are the demands
that the House Democrats had put forward for conditions of return.
It's probably the dumbest set of demands I've ever seen
(12:30):
in my life. It's the definition of a self fulfilling prophecy.
They put out this press release a couple of days before,
saying Texas House Democrats announced today that they will only
return to Texas once two critical conditions are met. One
the legislature's adjournment signe die on Friday, and two the
introduction of California's redistricting maps that would neutralize the Trump
(12:54):
Abbot voter suppression effort.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
That's what they're calling are redistricting.
Speaker 4 (12:57):
If you remove racially jerrymandered districts and actually draw the
districts in a way that makes sense regardless of what
colored people are.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
That's voter suppression to the Democrats.
Speaker 4 (13:08):
But anyway, their demands to return home are things that
were going to happen, whether or not they return home
or or.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
Not, we will not return home.
Speaker 4 (13:19):
Unless the special session is adjourned sine die. Well, yeah,
that was obviously going to happen on Friday, whether or
not you were there. And California is going to redistrict
their own maps, well, yeah, of course they're going to
do that.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
They're Democrats. They jerry mander. It's what they do. Look
at a map of.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
California's congressional districts and tell me that's not already jerrymandered.
Now they're going to go and jerry mander it some more.
We knew they were going to do that. These are
your terms. This is ridiculous. That's like if I demanded
to my wife, I am not going to vacuum the
floor until the sun rises, or unless the sun rises.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
It's going to rise, the floor will be vacuumed.
Speaker 4 (14:02):
Not only is the sun going to rise, we can
accurately predict exactly.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
When the sun is going to rise. This is so stupid.
Speaker 4 (14:11):
We knew this was going to happen, and yet still
the Democrats are still trying to do victory labs and
act like the regularly scheduled end of the special session
is their great victory over Republicans. Representative John Busey the
Third he's one of the Democrats that scampered off instead
of doing his job. He tweeted out Texas Republicans just
(14:34):
ended their mid decade redistricting session early.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
It wasn't early.
Speaker 4 (14:38):
It was exactly when we knew what was going to
end again regularly scheduled. I cannot repeat that enough. This
is not a victory for you. He goes, they lost, and.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
They know it did we did.
Speaker 4 (14:51):
We lose because guess what, you're coming back on Monday.
We've already got another's We're already in the midst of
another special session. An hour after he put out this tweet,
a second special session was called and gaffled in again
without a quorum, but the quorum will be back on Monday.
They admitted the quorum will be back on Monday because
(15:12):
all of their quote unquote demands have already been met.
California is swearing up and down they're gonna further jerrymander
their state, and the first special session adduring sine die.
So we know you'll be back because you told us,
and you know what we're gonna do when you come back,
exactly what we were doing before we left. We're gonna
pass flood relief and a number of other top priorities,
(15:34):
and we're gonna redistrict the state to get rid of
these racially jerrymandered districts that we've been stuck with for years.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
I have no idea how you can make this out
to be a win. It's funny.
Speaker 4 (15:46):
He tweeted this out with a video of Dustin Burrows announcing, Hey,
we'll be back.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
Stay tuned, take a listen to this.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
We are about to receive a motion to sine die,
do not go very far, as I believe, our governor
will be calling us back for another special session very
very soon. Mister Garon moves at the House of Representatives
(16:16):
of the first called Session of the eighty ninth Legislature,
stand adjourned, signing.
Speaker 4 (16:20):
Yeah, so everybody knew we're coming right back, and I
get this was posted at about eleven o'clock on Friday.
By twelve o'clock on Friday, they had gabbled back in
for another special session. I like to think that maybe
the Democrats, somehow, because they're stupid, didn't know this was
(16:40):
going to happen. I don't think they didn't know, but
it would be really funny if they didn't know, Like
they put out all these press releases and these tweets
and did their victory lap because they honestly thought that
was going to be it. They didn't know we were
going to gabble back in I know they did, but
it's fun for me to think maybe they didn't. So
what exactly is their point with all of this? I mean,
(17:03):
if they did, know which they did, what exactly are
they hoping to achieve? All they're doing is being an inconvenience.
They're not actually stopping anything, they're just allaying it. That's
been said repeatedly, and I think that's their goal. They
just want the attention. They want to be able to
go and do these big victory lapse They want to
be able to go to California and Illinois and basically
(17:25):
be used as props to rally the Democrat base there.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
That's really what all this is about.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
They know they have nothing going on, they have no
issues to campaign on, so they're looking for something. They're
desperately trying to rally their base before the mid terms
kickoff in just a couple of months. Really, I don't
think it's gonna work. People see through this garbage. All right,
We've got a lot more coming up. We're gonna talk
about DC and crime enforcement and everything else, So stay tuned.
We'll be right back. All righty, Welcome back at Underscore.
(18:20):
Ethan Buchanan on X Give Me a follow up. You
should it would be very nice to quote borat all. Right,
let's talk I know I said we were gonna talk
about DC. I think let's push that to the fourth segment.
We'll talk about that in a minute. We will get
to that, because there's interesting things happening, good things happening.
But I think first we should probably talk about what
(18:42):
is going on between the US and Russia. Of course,
we had that big summit on Friday with Vladimir Putin
in Alaska. I think that's probably a little bit more pressing,
So we'll talk about that first. So for starters, Trump
and Putin actually meeting and having discussion is a good thing.
(19:02):
I know you're not supposed to acknowledge this, but that's
actually how peace happens. That's how the disagreements that lead
to wars are straightened out. You actually have to have discussions.
If you say this, if you point this out and say, hey,
it's good for us to sit down and have meetings
with our enemies so that we can kind of maintain
(19:23):
peace or push for peace, all of a sudden, you're
treated like a fanboy of the opposing regime for just
acknowledging a simple undeniable reality. And of course the left
is going nuts over Donald Trump having a meeting with Putin,
as we know they would, and of course they're absolutely
(19:46):
livid that Putin wasn't just immediately assassinated on American soil
or whatever. Why didn't we arrest Putin? Why didn't we
execute Putin? Well, the short answer there is because we're
trying to make peace between Russia and Ukraine, not get
ourselves in involved in that war, right, I mean, that's ridiculous.
But of course the left has no concept of being
(20:08):
practicable and doing things that work. They just do whatever
they like, regardless of the consequences.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
So, as we.
Speaker 4 (20:15):
Knew they would, they immediately went on a rampage about
Trump going and having this meeting with Putin. I saw
a couple of tweets here that caught my attention. Trump
is just mainlining Putin's interference in US elections. At this point,
Putin knows just what to say to appeal to maga's
confirmation bias and undermine our system even more. Future historians
(20:37):
will deem this as the period when Russia destroyed the US. Really,
because we had to sit down with Vladimir Putin to
discuss peace in a country miles and miles and thousands
of miles away from US, you think maybe you're being
just a little bit dramatic here, guy, I'm fairly confident
(20:58):
that none of what you just said will happen. First
of all, we know that there is no notable interference
in US elections by Russia.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
That is an undeniable fact.
Speaker 4 (21:08):
We have now, thanks to the Trump administration, the documents
from the Obama era, not even from the Biden era,
from the Obama era saying hey, yeah, we just did
all the research on this. This didn't happen. There was
no mass Russian interference in the US elections. There was
bots on Facebook that influenced nobody. The Obama administration said
(21:30):
that we have the documents. So what Russian interference do
you think we're mainlining? How is trying to make peace
in a foreign country, ending wars, saving lives? How exactly
is that a Russian destruction.
Speaker 1 (21:45):
Of the United States? They don't know.
Speaker 4 (21:49):
If you actually asked them this question, they would have
no idea how to answer that question, because they're just
repeating the talking points somebody else said. At this point,
putin is the dirt on Trump he's literally a dictator and,
for lack of a better term, the freaking bad guy.
He didn't say freaking, he said the F word, but
I can't say that on the radio. And our orange
(22:11):
douche of a quote unquote leader chooses to buddy up
with him to third party negotiate for someone else entirely. Okay, well,
what do you want here? The war to continue indefinitely.
I mean, if that's the plan, we need to start
pulling our money out of this right now. We shouldn't
be aiding Ukraine. We should not be just throwing our
support and fueling an endless war that's good for nobody,
(22:34):
least of all us.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
But I guess that's what the Democrats want.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
I think the real reason they're so pissed off about
this is because Vladimir Putin actually said the kind of
Trump talking point that he campaigned on.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
Remember we had years.
Speaker 4 (22:48):
Of Trump saying if I was the president, this war
would have never happened, and then Putin. I don't know
if he's being serious, or if he's making a joke,
or if he's just trying to troll the American left
or what has He seems to be serious when he
says this, but he literally goes out in this press
conference and says, yeah, if if Trump was the president
(23:09):
during the Biden administration, this war would have never started.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
Take a listen.
Speaker 6 (23:14):
I'd like to remind you of that. In twenty twenty two,
during the last contact with the previous administration, I tried
to convince my previous American colleague should not the situation
should not be to the point of no return when
it would come to hostilities. And I said it quite
(23:37):
directly back then. That's a big mistake Trump today, when
President Trump saying that the way if he was the
president back then, there will be no war, and I'm
quite sure that it would indeed be, so I can't
confirm that the film. I think that overall, me and
President Trump have built it very good, business like and
(23:58):
trustworthy contact. Every reason to believe that moving down this
past we can come to the end of the conflict
in Ukraine.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
Now, obviously the left is very upset about that statement.
They're super upset that Putin also said that he and
Trump have a good relationship. I don't understand why don't
we want that? Don't we want our leaders to have
good rapport with foreign leaders? Even foreign leaders that we
don't necessarily like. That's how we stay out of wars.
(24:34):
I don't know how this suddenly became controversial. It makes
no sense. Do you want us to be enemies with everybody?
I recognize we can't, you know, be buddy buddy and
have super close alliances with everybody because a lot of
people don't agree with us on key issues. But even
countries that we have strong disagreements with, we want to
(24:56):
have a rapport with them so that we don't end
up at war. That's controversial to the left. I don't
know why. Trump basically said that. In an interview with
Sean Handity after the summit, he basically said, yeah, look,
this was a good, warm meeting. We had a good discussion,
and we may be close to a deal, which again,
(25:16):
you have to have a good relationship and strong rapport
with these foreign countries in order to get to a deal,
so they shouldn't be controversial, but it is for whatever reason.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Here's Trump basically saying.
Speaker 4 (25:28):
Yeah, we had a good meeting, we have a good relationship,
and here's why that's a good thing.
Speaker 7 (25:33):
The meeting was a very warm meeting. You know, he's
a strong guy, he's tough as hell and all of that.
But the meeting was a very warm meeting between two
very important countries, and it's very good when they get along.
I think we're pretty close to it. And now, look,
Ukraine has to agree to it. Maybe they'll say no,
because Biden handed out money like it was candy, and
(25:55):
Europe gave him a lot of money. You know, we
gave him three hundred and fifty billion dollars. Europe gave
them much less, but still a lot, one hundred billion dollars.
Speaker 1 (26:06):
Yeah, So there it is.
Speaker 4 (26:07):
So what are the actual results of this meeting? Basically,
what it appears that this was is basically just to
kind of set the table for future meetings. This was
just to establish, hey, can we actually negotiate here? Can
we come to an agreement? Can we actually work out
a way to end this war? And that's primarily on
(26:31):
Zolenski and Putin? Right, Trump can't unilaterally end this war.
Trump never could unilaterally end this war. Trump's role here
is to basically facilitate the conversation between Putin and Vladimir Zelenski.
Trump understands this. Here is Trump saying this, we are
making progress. We think we can negotiate a deal, but
(26:54):
at the end of the day it's up to Vladimir
Zolenski to read to the deal.
Speaker 7 (27:01):
We were together almost three hours and it was very
extensive and we agreed it a lot of points. I
mean a lot of points we're agreed on, but there's
not that much. There's you know, one or two pretty
significant items, but I think they can be reached. Now
it's really up to Presidents Olynsky to get it done.
And I would also say the European nations they have
(27:22):
to get involved a little bit. But it's up to
Presidents Olynsky. I think we are and if they'd like,
I'll be at that next meeting. They're going to set
up a meeting now between Presidents Olynsky and President Putin
and myself. I guess you know, I didn't even I
didn't ask you about it. Not that I want to
be there, but I want to make sure it gets
done and we have a pretty good chance of getting
(27:42):
it done.
Speaker 4 (27:43):
So where exactly do we go from here? Well, of
course it's meetings.
Speaker 1 (27:46):
Next.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
Trump put out a post on truth social that there's
going to be now a call with Vladimir's Lensky and
some presidents of NATO to just kind of follow that up,
and then, of course the end goal is a sit
down between Zelenski and Putin. He also said that we're
not really gonna look at a ceasefire, We're just trying
to get straight to peace because the ceasefire deals don't
(28:10):
usually hold up. So what the takeaway here is there's progress.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
It's going to be slow progress.
Speaker 4 (28:18):
There's gonna be a lot of negotiation, a lot of meetings,
but we are making progress again because of that strong
rapport that President Trump has. This is a good thing.
We want this war to end. Why because it's costing lives.
Lives are being lost. That's not a good thing. Human
life has value. We should work to preserve it wherever
we can. And if we're in a position because of
(28:39):
our decent relationship, I guess with Putin to negotiate an
end to this war, then by all means Trump should
take advantage of that. And to the liberals who are
mad about it, I don't know to tell you you're
an idiot.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
All right, stay tuned.
Speaker 4 (28:52):
We're going to be talking about Washington, d C. And
the crime and the crackdowns there. So stay tuned. We
will be right back with more of the.
Speaker 1 (28:59):
Next gen of the Bartan.
Speaker 4 (29:17):
Okay, now we're going to talk about Washington, d C
and all the crime there and what's being done about it.
I never really planned to visit Washington, d C, partially
because of all the crime. But if they are actually
able to significantly clean up the city, I may one
day go visit my nation's capital.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
I do really want to see the Smithsonian.
Speaker 4 (29:40):
I'm a kind of a history nerd, and so there's
a lot of really neat historical stuff, even modern history,
space stuff, things that I think are cool in the Smithsonian.
But I never really plan on visiting it because I
don't want to go to Washington, DC. The hard truth
about our nation's capital right now is that it's just
not safe. It just isn't And I don't believe they
(30:04):
have conceal carry reciprocity with the state of Texas. Actually,
let me google that right now and let me see
does Washington d C have recipprosity with Texas. No, Washington
d C does not have reciprocity with Texas for consial
cary permans. So until that's changed, until we get either
(30:26):
national constitutional carry or reciprocity with the state of Texas.
I will not go to Washington, d C. Because it
just would not be responsible of me. It's not a
safe city.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
It isn't.
Speaker 4 (30:39):
And I've got some examples pulled from Twitter about this.
An account called Washington Washingtonian Problems, not Washington Problems, Washingtonian problems.
Tweet it out, Hey, DC, let's push back against the
negative narrative about our city. Share why you love our
beautiful home, and help show the world the real DC. This,
(31:01):
I think is probably going to be entered into the
ex Hall of Fame as one of the all time
great tweets because of the replies. Obviously, what they wanted
is a bunch of people that live in Washington say, hey,
here's all the reasons Washington is an amazing city and
a great place to live and beautiful and we love
it here. What they actually got was everybody talking about
(31:22):
what a third world crap hole it is. Somebody tweeted out,
I like the part where the police gave us out
air tag so that we could start finding our own
stolen cars. That was amazing, What a city. Somebody else said.
I was writing the measure with my infant, who started
to cry. I picked the baby up, and someone stole
the stroller. Good times.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
Somebody else says my car was shot.
Speaker 4 (31:45):
Up in a drive by and we had to go
to five different police stations before we found one that
was open because it was a Sunday. A homeless man
spat in my face while he was fully exposed. When
I went to visit my family in DC. I love
the open air compost toilets that people in other communities
(32:05):
call sidewalks.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
This is a good one.
Speaker 4 (32:08):
It was really cool when a guy headbutted me on
the Metro after I asked him to stop blasting music
through his phone speakers. And then there was the time
a bum spat on me for no reason. Here's probably
the craziest one. I walked past a bum jerking it
next to a body bag at Fort Taunton Metro while
two Metro Police Department officers stood around a few feet
(32:29):
away and just watched.
Speaker 1 (32:32):
That's crazy.
Speaker 4 (32:34):
So obviously this is not a paradise city. This is
a terrible city to go to if you have no
means to protect yourself because obviously the police aren't doing
anything either. That's part of the big problem is that
the police officer's fault. No, I'm sure they want to
do their jobs, but they can't do to you know,
budget cuts or you know, the threat of if I
(32:57):
do do my job and I could get prosecuted for that.
That's been a big problem ever since George Floyd. People
who do want to become cops are sitting there thinking,
if I actually go out of my way to try
to protect people from criminals and something happens to the criminal,
I could end up behind bars for the rest of
my life.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
So I'm just not going to become a cop.
Speaker 4 (33:19):
Or I'm gonna become a cop, but I'm not really
gonna do anything because I can't. It's a huge problem. Thankfully,
the Trump administration is stepping up. So here's an article
from Fox about everything that they're doing. The Trump administration
is doing to crack down on the crime in DC.
Ag Bondi strips power from DC police chief, rescinds sanctuary
(33:40):
city protections in Crime Crackdown Operation DEA. Administrator Terry Cole
is granted full powers over Metro Police Department as ag
pam Bondi rescinds sanctuary city policies in Washington, DC. So
basically what they're doing is they're giving complete control over
the city's police force. They're taking it from the mayor
(34:00):
and they're giving it to the DEA administrator. So basically,
the top anti drug cop in the country is now
running the police department of Washington, d C. Hey, I'm
all for it. I don't have any problem with this whatsoever.
Attorney General Pambondi issued a two page order on Thursday
(34:20):
rescinding illegal immigration protections in Washington DC and naming an
emergency police Commissioner for the city's Metropolitan Police Department. How
could you be opposed to this? How could you be
opposed to the city being made safer? And it is
being made safer. Fox News did a big report about
how many people they've arrested in just the last couple
(34:41):
of days. This came out on Friday. I'm playing it
for you now because the numbers I'm sure have only
gone up since then.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
Take a listen.
Speaker 8 (34:48):
Law enforcement made thirty three total arrests in our nation's
capital last night. Fifteen of the thirty three are illegal aliens,
including arrests from murder, rate assault, and a juvenile carrying
a pistol without a license. Were told twenty multi agency
teams were deployed throughout all seven districts in DC to
(35:10):
promote public safety and arrest violent offenders.
Speaker 1 (35:14):
There were more.
Speaker 8 (35:14):
Than one thy seven hundred and fifty participants and last
night's operations.
Speaker 1 (35:20):
So huge, huge numbers.
Speaker 4 (35:23):
I mean, that might not sound like a massive amount,
but thirty three arrests, fifteen of them being illegal aliens.
It's noteworthy only because I think all of these people
could have been arrested before. Like, is that an insane
number of criminals to arrest?
Speaker 1 (35:45):
Maybe not?
Speaker 4 (35:46):
Is that an insane number of people who were probably
known criminals already that hadn't been arrested. Absolutely, And again
fifteen illegal immigrant arrests. Those numbers are going to add up.
They are, and they're going to send a message to
other people. That's part of kind of the interior operations.
It's one half to port as many people as we can,
(36:07):
and it's another half try to convince everybody we don't
deport to leave on their own because they're afraid they
might get deported.
Speaker 1 (36:15):
This is how you do that, do.
Speaker 4 (36:17):
Massive enforcement, arrest fifteen illegal aliens and highly publicize it.
And of course this is happening all over the country.
But you know that's besides the point. Despite this, people
are still mad. People are going out and protesting against
the city being made safer, against law enforcement just arresting
people for committing crimes, which is insane. Take a listen
(36:38):
to this protest of I guess these are just a
bunch of people who don't want law enforcement in their city,
which makes no sense. It makes everybody less safe to
have no law enforcement. Here's what that sounded like.
Speaker 1 (36:50):
We come in and this is how city who.
Speaker 4 (36:58):
Fool?
Speaker 1 (36:59):
City who city.
Speaker 9 (37:02):
Hoo Citi free day see free pay see free, hey
see free kay se free py see free.
Speaker 4 (37:15):
Yeah, And so that continues for another like twenty five seconds,
but you get the picture.
Speaker 1 (37:20):
Here's the thing.
Speaker 4 (37:21):
It's not our city, it's not anybody's city right now.
The city belongs to crime. That's who the city belongs to.
And I mean, just look at the tweets that I
read to you, and those are just part of it.
Those are the highlights. There's thousands more just like it.
There's thousands of stories of people being victimized by crime
in Washington, DC. We played on the Wednesday Show, the
(37:44):
Wednesday Podcast, people who are afraid to leave their homes
after dark because of all the crime. The city belongs
to crime right now, and Donald Trump is freeing DC.
He's freeing it from the crime, he's freeing it from
the legal aliens, He's freeing it from the mismanagement. It
blows my mind that people are opposed to this. I
(38:05):
think Donald Trump may actually be a political genius because
he has cornered the left into the position of being
pro crime, of going out into the streets and protesting
against crime crackdowns.
Speaker 1 (38:20):
That's not gonna win you any votes. It's not. It
makes you look like radicals.
Speaker 4 (38:25):
Rather, I should say it exposes the fact that you
are radicals. So good on Donald Trump for making people
safer and making the left look like idiots while you're
at it. That's always a plus anyway. That is all
I have got for us today. Thank you very much
for listening to the Next Gen Reports. Stay tuned. I'm
gonna be on The Movie Show with John Downey tonight,
so stick around for that. Don't tune out just because
(38:47):
I'm leaving. There's still a lot of great stuff here
on a M nine to fifty KPRC. And hey, we'll
see you for the Wednesday podcast. Thank you very much
for listening, Looking.
