Speaker 6 (10:59):
Going else for you today. This is so exciting. I mean,
let's you know, we're in New York City. We're in
the Duncan music Lounge. I do have to ask. I say,
you're sitting in a Duncan Okay, you're sitting in a
Duncan coffee If somebody walked through that door, it could
be anyone who would you want to sit down and
have a conversation with oo.

Speaker 9 (11:17):
Normally I would say Rihanna, but probably sizza. Oh yeah,
it's it's Scorpio season. I'm a Scorpio. Her birthday's coming up?
By birthdays?

Speaker 6 (11:27):
Went your birthday?

Speaker 2 (11:28):
November tenth?

Speaker 6 (11:29):
Appy early birthday?

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (11:32):
Yeah, two scorpios walk into a duncan. I feel like
that's like a whole other show. Oh yeah, but you know,
we have a ton of duncans here in New York City.
New York City, the home of Broadway. Off Broadway, you
have had a bunch of different shows you've worked on.
What has been your favorite experience so far and which
show has been your favorite.

Speaker 9 (11:52):
I love to say this because it was the last
show I was in, but Titanic it was just yeah,
it was a great show.

Speaker 6 (12:00):
I watched it before I.

Speaker 9 (12:01):
Was even in it, and I was like, I'm gonna
be in this, And then I was in it, and
it was like the most incredible experience. Like the people
who work there, everyone who's there. It's just like you're
laughing every single day, Like it doesn't feel like work.
You're literally just like with your friends, like singing on stage.
It's like the best experience you could have.

Speaker 6 (12:17):
What is that experience? Like, Like, how how is it
rehearsing for that and and the workload as far as
doing all these shows.

Speaker 9 (12:26):
Eight shows a week is a lot, for sure, but
you know, when you move here, you like do That's
what you're here to do is work hard and succeed.
So it's been a lot of fun to be able
to like put that into motion and like choose what
I want to do after that, Like being on American
Idol and being like, Okay, well I'm going to be
an artist now and I'm going to just you know,
figure out what I'm doing now.

Speaker 6 (12:46):
It's a lot of fun to be in this space.
I think not a lot of artists can say that
they do Broadway and off Broadway but also write their
own music, which is actually why you're here today. Where
do you draw your inspiration from? When when writing songs?
My husband hear the audience today, Yeah, raise your hand.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (13:11):
I like was doing Soul Doctor in Israel and I
was really adamant about like starting to like write and
be serious about it. And then I moved back to
New York and I met him and a flood of music,
and pretty much every time I'm around him, I hear songs.

Speaker 6 (13:28):
So it's just like really easy to write. Loving this
man so that is so you would draw inspiration from
a happy place.

Speaker 9 (13:36):
Yeah, happy place with happy faces, sad places, just love
in general.

Speaker 6 (13:40):
Yeah, and just wanting to encourage people like the music
I make.

Speaker 9 (13:43):
I want people to like feel like I've been through
this or I I can like relate to this and
I'm not alone.

Speaker 6 (13:49):
You know that is so beautiful. Well, are you guys
ready to hear music from Naya? We've got three songs
and we are so excited to have you performed. Thank
you so much
