Interview With Leon Edwards on Muscatine Co Fair 2025

Hey, welcome to the podcast. Pat and I are talking
right now with Leon Edwards for the Muscatine County Fair
this summer.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Yeah. Absolutely, it's really creaking up. This is a busy
time of announcements for sure, but we had a lot
of comments.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
We definitely want to talk about the Musketine County Fair as.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Far as the concert in that we deal with. That
is going to be that Saturday, which is the nineteenth
of July.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
July nineteenth, Okay, yeah, big day, big day, big day.
So is the big announcement You're gonna let everybody know
who is going to be entertaining them this coming summer.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Yeah. Absolutely, So we're really excited about this one. That's
actually it's Clay Walker, oh West Liberty.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Oh man.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
You know what, really, when we think about it, he
really we have not been able to get him into
the area as much as we would like. So way
to go there. Did you promise him a trip down
to fishing down in Key West?

Speaker 4 (00:55):
Would you do?

Speaker 2 (00:57):
We actually had the last time I saw him was
actually left a couple of years ago.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
That's pretty good ironic. Yeah, there you go. Whatever it
takes to get great talent like Clay in there man
way to go Leoh.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
They've been doing really good with that and really building
up these artists. And I will say the opener wise
we are equally excited about. So this one is a
newcomer from Nashville, but it's going to be His name
is Timothy Wayne, tim mcgrawl's nephews who's coming up here.
And so he has been doing some he's got his
first release out there and been doing a lot of
great things with that too. Well.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
I was just gonna say, I think I know you
kind of hit that if the light came on and
when we think about last year, so many people had
just started to know a little bit about Drew Baldridge,
and Drew Baldridge now is like there again that special
guest to the opener.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Sometimes you got it. You gotta get in there early
and enjoy it because that act won't be long, and
that act will be at the top of the page
and you won't be able to get within a mile
of him.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Absolutely, Drew hit number one I think a month right
after the fair last year.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Yeah, it was great timing, great timing for you.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
Well, nice job on that. And sometimes when you're looking
into some of these acts, sometimes you're just trying to
book a date, but there's a little timing in it,
and there's instincts with some of these acts too.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Absolutely, absolutely, and honestly it's just finding the right act
for the right area. And these more I guess you
say heritage, but I mean they are really you know,
a lot of new stuff out now too, but a
lot of these acts have been just doing really well
in that area, and I think it's just been flocking
with ticket sales over the past few years. They've been
doing really great with this stuff.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
So, speaking of ticket sales, July nineteenth for the Muscatine
County Fair, when can people start grabbing their tickets for
these two great shows.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Tickets are going to go on sale online and at
the fair office starting this Friday, eight o'clock, and they'll
have the concert only so you can go in there
and buy just the concert tickets, but they also sell
what they call a fun pass, which includes the grand
stand admission of the concert, but it also gets you
into the fair every other day that week. Oh wow,
the other stuff they got going on the grandstand too?

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Great?

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Love that.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Yeah, all right, well this is for this is perfect.
I mean, I cannot wait for all the great fun
at the Muscatine County Fair this summer.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
It's gonna be.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Great, I will say, just I guess the teaser wise,
they're gonna actually they're doing a couple of switches on
the grand stand this year, and we'll have something else
coming out next week.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Oh that's exciting.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
So people, you teaser you teaser pants, you come on leon.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
So I would say, maybe keep your eye on the
Muscatine County Fair Facebook page, their website and stay connected
because you never know what fun is gonna Popabile.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Absolutely, it's gonna be a big one for them.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Every time we get a chance to talk to you,
we always know there's good news on the other end.
So let's keep that tradition going. Huh.
