Proudly Pa.

This is the local show with a Central Pennsylvania Music
Hall of Fame on the River ninety seven three.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
There we go.
Speaker 4 (00:11):
It's season three, episode four, the Local Show. I'm Glenn Hamilton.
My buddy Brandon Valentine is here. Hello, everyone, and we
got a jam packed show for you, lots of local
music for you. As we do every Sunday night at
eight o'clock. We feature nothing but the best, and we
try to squeeze in as much as we can.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
So what are we starting with? Brandon? Starting with something
special here?
Speaker 5 (00:33):
It's a seventeen year old Carmine Gance going under the
name Carmine, and you may remember him from that one
track that we played a couple times on this show,
which is the Central Pennsylvania Youth All Star Bands version
of Baba O'Reilly.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
Right.
Speaker 4 (00:48):
That's right, he's saying vocals on that. We've also featured
Carmine from our open mic session last summer at the
Abbey barb.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (00:57):
In fact, I believe we had a live version of
the song we're going to feature tonight, that is before
it got officially released.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
That is right recorded, you got it?
Speaker 6 (01:05):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (01:06):
This is his newest he wrote this one again. Carmine
is the artist. This is called Planet twenty five. It's
the local show on the River ninety seventy.
Speaker 7 (01:16):
Three looking bye and the Celi song what is that
(01:37):
I feel you want to happen?
Speaker 3 (01:41):
Without saying oh yeah, well that with the body of
you won't.
Speaker 8 (01:48):
The school tell me ton't know what's to wen?
Speaker 6 (02:10):
We say it, what's gonna continus? When I stopped to.
Speaker 9 (02:14):
Look, can't you know of what's around?
Speaker 10 (02:17):
We're telling telling them nothing.
Speaker 6 (02:19):

Speaker 13 (02:56):

Speaker 6 (03:01):
I shot my lines.
Speaker 15 (03:04):
Where can I go?
Speaker 11 (03:06):
There was no space lea I go about by Nastic
Please Welcome Spana twenty five. That is drown fine Eyes,
Welcome Malanta.
Speaker 14 (03:26):

Speaker 16 (03:51):
Welcome to Manet twenty by.
Speaker 12 (03:55):
You that is drown by.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
Welcome Land twenty five.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
Yeah, that is brand new from Carmine. Carmine God's Planet
twenty five. Oh wait, there's more. Who I like that
false ending like it, like it very cool?
Speaker 3 (04:35):
All right.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
So Carmine Gods going by just his first name, Carmine,
and that's Planet twenty five. And Carmine is involved in
another Central Pennsylvania Youth All Star project that I have
been so excited about for you to announce this, Brandon.
Speaker 5 (04:49):
Yes, indeed, Carmine is the featured vocalist. He's the only
vocalist on the next Central Pennsylvania Youth All Star band
tune that we're doing. It's going to be released here
with this the next month. We are doing a cover
of Rush is Tom Sawyer Boy. That is a tall order.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
But if anybody can undertake this other than Solar Federation,
it's the Central Pennsylvania Youth All Star Bands. So who
makes up the band for Tom Sawyer?
Speaker 5 (05:17):
Yes, Carmine on vocals, Noah Gibney returning on keys, Alex
Lee Warner returning on guitar, Levi Dickinson returning on bass,
and Ethan Valentine returning on drums.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
Your son, that's right, My son a monster. And they're
all incredible musicians and singers. Yes, And I know you've
heard the track already, but I have.
Speaker 5 (05:38):
We haven't released it yet, but man, this kind of
stemmed from Ethan really getting into drums, really look into
you know, Neil Peart and getting obsessed with Rush music.
And you know, I forget how you always phrase it,
but man, those Rush fans they want to hear it
note for note, like when they go see Solar Federation
the Tribute, they want to hear it note for note.
(05:59):
And Ethan learned the drum parts note for notes, and
he's it's so good, and that's the to me, that's
the deal breaker. I mean, sure, I mean, Gedty and
Alex are incredible musicians. Getty's hard to sing all that stuff.
But if you don't have the drums down, if you
don't have Neil parks Pearts parts down, yep, that's hard
to say, you may as well forget it. And when
(06:20):
I heard Ethan playing those, I was like, oh my god,
it's it's I cannot wait for everybody here. We'll obviously
play it here on the local show as soon as
it's available, but the video will be out, you said
within a month or so.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
That's right, ye can't wait for that. And uh, and
not to mention, Carmine looks like Getty Lee, he really does.
If they ever do a Rush biopic, because they're doing
them now. It's like they're coming out all the time.
He might get a call from Hollywood to say, we
need you to play Getty Lee.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
That's right. We're hoping. We're hoping the video goes viral.
Speaker 5 (06:48):
And gets uh to Gedty and Alex Lifson and we
can we can get some recognition out of them too well.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
Roger Daughtry and Pete Townshend of the Who both saw
Boba O'Reilly and went nuts about it. So I don't
think that's out of the realm of possibility in this
day and age.
Speaker 5 (07:04):
Man, stay tuned. Would that be all right? Who's up
next on the Local show, Brandon? Moving on, We're moving
to Joe Schaeffer. Joe Shaffer is a member of the
band Rivers, and he just recently did an original album
and this is the title track off that album. It's
called coming Forth. On the Local Show at River ninety seventh.

Slapjaw on the River ninety seven three. The local show
that is Steamroller from the band Slapjaw and they're from Scranton.
That's right, Yeah, we we say central Pennsylvania, but it's
arbitrary borders. It goes up to the New York border,
down to Maryland, out past Lancaster, reading into Wilkespere Scranton.
Speaker 3 (26:56):
So like literally the middle third of our state.
Speaker 5 (26:59):
Yeah, I mean that's central say, you know Scranton, Wilkespeare's
northeast kind of area. But uh, you know, we define
it that's part of central Pennsylvania. So by way you
mean you exactly, that's correct, Like I said, arbitrary borders.
All right, who are we finishing up with tonight, Brandon? Yes,
this is kind of an amalgam mix here. As we
mentioned a multi instrumentalist for Mechanicsburg. His name is Adam Stare. Okay,
(27:22):
but he goes by stereo Okay, clever name right now
s t a r EO. That's stereo s t no
st e h r eo.
Speaker 4 (27:32):
Oh Stare s t e h r is how he
spells his name correct, Yes, all right, got it? So
he's radio you have to kind of yeah, you gotta
spell it out for it quite literally, you know. Yeah,
but yeah, he he lives in the Philly area now,
but from Mechanicsburg. And then as mentioned a member of
the advisory committee for the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
This features our buddy John Merks on harmonica. Fantastic.
Speaker 5 (27:55):
Yes, so listen, listen in for the mouth harp there
because that's mister Merks. And then we said a cast
member of the Harry Potter film. That would be mister
Tom Felton.
Speaker 1 (28:06):
Draco Malfoy.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
Draco Malfoy is featured on this record as well.
Speaker 4 (28:10):
You know the dude I can't remember his name, the
dude Tom that plays Draco's dad. Yes, it is on
the current season of White Lotus and you get to
see his wand on this show. You know what I'm
saying a little too much there, But anyway, anyway, I digress.
That's amazing. Tom Felton is on this song.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
What does he play? Drums?
Speaker 3 (28:31):
What does he play? I'm not sure. I'll be dang.
Speaker 4 (28:33):
Well, that's incredible. Well here it is grammatic. This is
nowhere on the local show on the River ninety seventy three.

Speaker 4 (32:11):
Johnny Marks on the harp there on with Grammatic nowhere
and who else.
Speaker 25 (32:16):
Is on that?
Speaker 5 (32:17):
That's right, it's Adam Stare for Mechanics Burg. Huh John
Marks or you said John Marks?
Speaker 3 (32:22):

Speaker 8 (32:22):

Speaker 3 (32:23):
That's all right? Give him two shout outs. I was
half listening.
Speaker 1 (32:26):

Speaker 5 (32:27):
Adam still like my wife, I'm still distracted after the
wand joke Adam Stare, John Merks, Tom Felton, who is
Draco Malfoy? Unbelievable And of course the track is from
artist Grammatic. All right, and uh, it's just been a
great show and we can't wait. We talked about the
(32:50):
Central Pennsylvania Youth All Star Bands cover of Russia's Tom Sawyer.
That's going to be out the video and the song
within a month or so, so stay tuned for that.
You got a couple of any events coming up with
a cpm HOF anytime soon there, Brandon. Yes, we just
participated at the PMEA District seven Modern band show at
(33:11):
Lampeter Strausburg High School yesterday, and we just had an
open mic actually today three to six pm at Ridge
Run Tavern, which we will be partnering with additional venues
for additional open mics coming up too. So if you're
an artist out there and you'd like to perform at
an open mic sponsored and partnered with the Central Pennsylvania
(33:31):
Music Hall of Fame, we have some of our Board
of Directors and Advisory Committee members present at those open
mics to you know, keep their pulse on the local
music scene.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
Listen to you live.
Speaker 5 (33:42):
But if you if you'd not down for maybe the live,
you can submit your track here to this show by
going to cpmhof dot com slash Radio and your track
will be considered for future airplay.
Speaker 4 (33:55):
That's right, and now we love we get so many,
so many entries because there's so much The music scene
around here right now is incredibly vibrant, absolutely and putting
out a lot of stuff, So we get to as
much as we can every week. We can't get to
everybody obviously, and don't forget. We also upload an episode.
The current episode that you're listening to right now on
(34:16):
the Local Show podcast on the iHeartRadio app should be
up on Mondays now. I will just say last week
we had a technical glitch and I apologize, so we
did not get episode three loaded up. Maybe by magic,
it'll appear someday, but looked for episode four of season
three tomorrow or if you're listening to it there then
you've already found it and thank you. But the best
(34:37):
way to support these local artists is always go out
and see a local show.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
Would you
