Speaker 1 (00:01):
Proudly Pa. This is the local show with a Central

Speaker 4 (00:47):
It's time to shine the spotlight on local music and
this is what kind of our up and comer episode,
would you say?

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Yes, featuring a lot of young talent, we'll say, and
or up and coming artists to the area. So we
start things off with one of my favorite things to
do here on the show, which is to premiere a
brand new song before it even hits digital distribution.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
Wow, so a local show, exclusive, exclusive, exclusive, exclusive, exclusive.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
No radio effects on that. It's just Glenn repeating himself.
It's analog. But yes, this track will actually be released
this Friday, on April twenty fifth. Everywhere you can listen
to music, but you heard it here first on the
River Local Show. Everybody gets excited for the newest one.
It's the Central Pennsylvania Youth All Star band, the newest track,

(01:39):
the newest cover. It's Rush's Tom Sawyer.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
Ooh, and we will talk about it after we play it, right,
because there's a lot to say about it.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
One hundred percent. We need to play this song.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
Listen to this everybody you're listening to on this is
eighteen or under the Local Show on the River ninety
seven to three.

Speaker 5 (02:03):
The money's an't you worrior?

Speaker 6 (02:04):
Or mean means trying to take some song or.

Speaker 5 (02:07):
Me mean fry.

Speaker 7 (02:20):
Although his mind is not fervents to put him down
his head agents who was the quiet.

Speaker 5 (02:28):
Defense running out the day of events.

Speaker 7 (02:32):
Whatever what you're saying about his companies, what you say

(02:54):
that we catch the mist, we catch the mys, we
catch the mystraight we it's the trims.

Speaker 5 (03:10):
Is the lone is long and life body. Maybe as
the skies.

Speaker 7 (03:25):

Speaker 9 (05:31):
The Lord.

Speaker 10 (05:34):
Libity, maybe that size Lord Way lexit the warrior today
Stump say you can sign on you and the energy
you train, you can fight onto the friction of the body.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
That is the Central Pennsylvania Youth All Star Band tackling
the monster that is Tom Sawyer from Rush on the
Local Show on the River ninety seven to three. Brandon Rundown,
Who all is in that configuration of the Central Pennsylvania
Youth All Star Band. Yes on vocals looking and sounding
like Getty Lee. It's Carmine, Carmine Gance on drums. My

(06:42):
son Ethan Valentine kind of the impetus to doing this
track because he really fell in love with Rush their music.
Neil period as a drummer in this track in particular,
and bass the Great Levi Dickinson and guitar, Alex Lee
Warner and keys Noah Gibney. Okay, so I have some
thoughts as a massive Rush fan. Uh, let's see where

(07:06):
do I start? Even nailing the drums just like incredible,
And I will say all I can say this about
all of them. They it's hard to take a song
that iconic that Rush fans know every single note and
mess with it at all, right, but they all put
their own kind of spin on it. Even Carmine's vocals
yea geddy, but put his own feel in it. Yeah,

(07:26):
he does those dives at the end.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
The biggest liberty I thought that was taken was Alex
Lee Warner's solo. Yes, because everybody knows Alex's solo note
for note Alex Lason that is yeah, Alex Alex Leisen.
That's right, Alex Lee Warner took some liberties. But here's
the thing about Alex Lee Warner's version of Alex's solo.
You could tell he could do it note for note
if he wanted to, Sure, but he did his own

(07:50):
thing and it's incredible and uh, and then he got
right back into it when it was time to go
back into the song. He got that Dan Nan Nana
Nana on Nana just absolutely phenomenal. Now the hope is
when does this come out again? It comes out Friday
Friday on all digital platforms. Now, when they did their
cover last year of Boba O'Reilly by the Who, you

(08:13):
guys put the video out and who but Pete Townsend
and Roger Daltrey both independently saw it. It got on
their radar. They both posted reels talking about how much
they loved that song. So, I mean, could you imagine
if Geddy Lee and Alex Lifson actually see this? And
I don't see why they wouldn't this day and this
day and age, that's the goal, you know. I mean,

(08:34):
our friends in Solar Federation have some connections to the
Rush universe, yep, in Terry Brown and Hugh Sime, they
got it designed Solar Federation's logo and all of Russia's
album covers.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
I mean, who knows, but I mean, phenomenal job. And
you heard it right here first before all this happened,
you know.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
Yeah, and you will have it on the podcast tomorrow,
but you'll look for on all the digital platforms.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
Is a video coming out as well on Friday, Yes
you got it worthy of note as well.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
We have some photography as well as the music video
launching launching on Friday, the twenty fifth music video and
photography done by Jo Photography that is justin Ortega and
also definitely we're worth mentioning.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
This was recorded at Thornwall Studio with wonderful Johnson. Awesome,
great job all the way around. In fact, such a
great job.

Speaker 4 (09:26):
Why don't we play the last year of Central pennsil
Pennsylvania Youth All Star Bands cover of Boba O'Reilly since
we've been talking about It's to the local show on the.

Speaker 11 (09:34):
River ninety seven to three, A lot of to be

(10:03):
fucking yeh.

Speaker 12 (10:36):
Do cry, don't rage, but jis sallly say my head.

Speaker 13 (10:56):
Trousers, put out the fires and go purse my shorder.

Speaker 5 (11:08):
He isn't justice.

Speaker 6 (11:13):
You have it all, so.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
So let's get.

Speaker 6 (11:17):
Together a ball begin.

Speaker 14 (11:32):
Tune nice my sam, it's only tennax slam.

Speaker 15 (11:40):
CNA twy slam, see na y slim.

Speaker 6 (11:49):
My sad.

Speaker 9 (12:00):
Do do.

Speaker 12 (12:15):
Do.

Speaker 6 (12:28):
It's a baste.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
There you go.

Speaker 4 (13:32):
There's a Central Pennsylvania Youth All Star a double shot
if you would, if you will, A twofer from the
Central Pennsylvania Youth All Star Band. That's last year's cover
Baba O'Reilly and their brand new world premiere of Rush Tom.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Sawyer to open the local show. And we've already decided
what we're doing next as well.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
So have you really?

Speaker 2 (13:52):
We have Central Pennsylvania Youth All Star Band. We just
did those five guys with Tom Sawyer, and we're going
to do an all female Tale Swift cover coming up
to try to get Taylor Swift's attention for the Central
Pennsylvania Hall of Fame here, so.

Speaker 4 (14:06):
For next year, that's right, yeah, and one of the
girls gonna, well, the young lady's gonna do their cover.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
It'll it'll probably launch this this summer, so we're to
do it here within the next month or two. Very cool,
all right, So well now I was going to say,
we're accepting submissions for that right now.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
So this is going to be like an audition kind
of process here. So so you don't already have the
band assembled.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
Correct, Yes, So if you are eighteen or younger, a female,
and either a vocalist or an instrumentalist, and you'd like
to be part of the next Central Pennsylvania Youth All
Star Band project, Wow, you can go on our website
cpmahof dot com and click on the Youth Music Consideration
portion and submit a YouTube video or a video of

(14:49):
yourself performing a Taylor Swift song and we'll take a
look and assemble the band.

Speaker 4 (14:53):
That's big news because I know you have your stable
of youth musicians, you know, but that's awesome that you're
opening at up and see who else is out there.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Yes, we're looking for a female drummer, female bassis, female guitarists, keys, yep, keys, singers,
vocalists yep, yep. And they'll be probably you know, X
amount of lead vocalists too, So it's not like we'll
just do one, you know, so taking turns on lines
or verses or whatever. It'll be fun, very cool. And
you heard it here first. That's exciting. I love what

(15:22):
that's That's really the reason the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall
of Fame was founded was to support youth music programs
around Central PA. Right, you got it, absolutely all right,
let's move on with some original music. Who do we
have now this up and comer? Yes, we mentioned up
and coming is the theme of the episode here, and
we start off with two of the youth all star
band songs. We're moving into an artist from Roaring Springs,

(15:45):
Pennsylvania who is currently on NBC's The Voice h And
this is his original.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
Song that is out on digital distribution. It is called
Chase the Sun. This is Ethan Eckinroad on The Local
Show and River ninety seven three.

Speaker 6 (16:01):
Iron.

Speaker 16 (16:02):
She so tired of way and around?

Speaker 17 (16:06):
But are we this facade?

Speaker 6 (16:08):
It'll just bring it down.

Speaker 17 (16:11):
Keep your eye story the sun.

Speaker 18 (16:13):
Don't love back now? Don't love back now? Are we
going a lot to ourselves saying we got time? Don't
rather sky it all, lay it all on a line.

(16:36):
Oh no, it won't be easy, honey, you.

Speaker 11 (16:39):

Speaker 6 (19:10):
This sees this.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
The River ninety seven to three. This is the local show.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
And that is Ethan Eckenrode, current contestant on The Voice
on NBC. That is his original song Chase the Sun.
Sounds so good too. It's kind of our up well
no great voice for sure.

Speaker 6 (19:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (19:50):
And is that him playing guitar too? It is excellent,
excellent guitar. So this is like our up and comer
episode from the central Pennsylvania area.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
And who are some of the artists that we have
coming up in the next segment.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Yeah, we just did someone from the Voice, and we're
going to move into someone currently on American Idol from
the Williamsport area. We're going to take a peek at
someone who I just heard for the first time because
her father reached out and sent a performance. And then
we're gonna wait to go dad. Yeah, way to go
advocating for your kids.

Speaker 3 (20:23):
Don't be shy.

Speaker 2 (20:24):

the Hall of Fame, that is the Central Pennsylvania Music
Hall of Fame, a version of a song that they wrote,
one of their first songs that they ever wrote, recorded
live at the Chameleon Club about fifteen years ago.

Speaker 6 (28:36):
Don't spiel don't the spiel, don't speak.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
The River ninety seven three, it's the local show. That's
Caitlyn surey, don't let this be over? And Penny Samar
back there, who was a current contestant this year on
American Idol with La La La La La. Yes, both
great tracks. Caitlin's fourteen years old and a Ford eighth
grader greater.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
How crazy is that? Amazing? And you discovered her because
her dad put her on your radar.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
Yeah, they contacted the Hall of Fame through the website
or through Facebook. I think sent us the Good Daypa
performance that she did and this track to play on
the air. And that's how things get on the air,
you know, you send us stuff. You visit the website
cpmhof dot com, slash radio and submit your track for consideration.

Speaker 4 (29:38):
And ABC twenty seven and a Good Day Pa does
a great job of spotlighting local artists as well.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
They really do.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
What a great you know, anything we can all do
together to get these artists heard, seen and on the
radars just it's such a joy to get.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
To do that, all right.

Speaker 4 (29:53):
So now we come to the portion of the show
where we feature either someone that's in consideration to be
in the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame.

Speaker 3 (29:59):
Or already in. So, who do you have for us
this week? Brandon?

Speaker 2 (30:03):
Yes, and this artist I believe wrote this track when
she was about fourteen years old and released it was
on a very limited edition CD. That's actually in the
Hall of Fame itself. You can go and see it
there nice in Hershey. That's right in the Hershey Hummelstown
area there at the Englewood Farmhouse in the back of that.
But yes, the artist is Lizzie Hale, and this was

(30:25):
one of her first successful tracks called Rose in December.
And we found a recording of her performing this live
at the Chameleon Club in the year twenty ten, right
at the end of twenty ten. Yeah, so you may
have been at that show. You may remember it. You
may remember Lizzie Hale's a teenager performing locally this track

(30:45):
Rose in December and she did a little butt blast
from the past recording it there after they made it successful.
Here it is Rose in December Lizzie Hale live at
the Chameleon Club in twenty ten on the local show
The River ninety seven.

Speaker 9 (31:00):
Again, haven't done this in a while. I had very
little time to practice for it, but we wanted to
be here with you, guys. I'm so glad we got
to make this show happen that this is called Rose
in December.

Speaker 13 (31:16):
M m.

Speaker 6 (31:40):
H, I've taken a most.

Speaker 9 (31:54):
Sad snow.

Speaker 13 (31:58):
Also hooraye of wings.

Speaker 5 (32:05):
A friend.

Speaker 6 (32:15):
Still kidding me sp that he's gonna time and taken
beb to read.

Speaker 13 (32:41):
Stop everybody around, A taste freak comes in the star
of the bus. Everybody everything.

Speaker 6 (33:01):
Staying here for.

Speaker 9 (33:06):
You as a rousing save.

Speaker 13 (33:25):
Two of a rebod do the time to pass?

Speaker 6 (33:39):
Said the stop.

Speaker 9 (33:52):
Here's the stops.

Speaker 6 (34:05):
Stay status.

Speaker 13 (34:16):
Step count stays.

Speaker 4 (35:16):
Lizzie Hale from Hailstorm live at the Chameleon Club back
on December twenty eighth of twenty ten, recording a live
version of her Rose in December.

Speaker 3 (35:27):
Great song man.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
She's got some powerhouse vocals for sure, and one of
the best singers on the planet.

Speaker 3 (35:33):
And that was just like a YouTube video from a
phone too, So yeah, maybe even a video camera back
in two thousand and ten. Who knows that is true?

Speaker 5 (35:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (35:42):
Do we have video cameras on our phones of twenty ten? Might?

Speaker 6 (35:47):
I think so?

Speaker 3 (35:48):
I think so?

Speaker 2 (35:48):
But hey, this is a great live version of that
of a beautiful song, and she, of course, Hailstorm is
in the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame. I remember
when they played at the York Fair. You've got to
go on stage and present their awards.

Speaker 3 (36:01):
That was very cool. It was a cool experience.

Speaker 2 (36:03):
So I got to do a shot with them backstage
or on stage, yeah, which was awesome. Gas and Lizzie
was wearing like fourteen inch heels and just made me
look like a dwarf on stage.

Speaker 4 (36:15):
He's a rockstar, bona fide rockstar. So that's gonna do
it for this week's up and coming episode. I mean
that was back when Hailstorm was still up and coming.
I mean, I guess they had made it by then,
but that song was written and she was fourteen, So
pretty good stuff, man, And don't forget the Central Pennsylvania
Youth All Star Bands version of Tom Sawyer will be

(36:36):
out on all digital platforms, the video and everything this Friday.
But you heard it first here on the local show
on the River ninety seven three. Brand and how can
people submit their music for consideration.

Speaker 3 (36:46):
Head to the.

Speaker 2 (36:46):

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
