The River ninety seven to three. Our special Joy to
the Burg edition of the local show. That's Brendan Starr
with his cover of n Sinks Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays,
great stuff. So it's our special Joy to the Burg edition.
Not only is this year the sixth year, but it's
a double disc set this year. Nick Muchie, talk about
your involvement this year and all the new things that
(14:58):
are happening with Joy to the Burg, Homeless, unhoused neighbors.
Speaker 5 (15:02):
Absolutely, it's been incredible to watch Jordan the Berg grow
this year. You know, this summer we had the PA
Christmas and Gift show that's been happening throughout the weekend.
Reached out and we've had artists performing there at the
Gift Show. We're also at the Lower packs thon Chris
Kendlemart on the fourteenth, as well as the special on
the twelfth. And but just this past week we had
our set on twenty seven that'll be on ABC. Good Day, PA,
(15:26):
I'm on the twelfth, all right, but.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
Can then set your DVRs please please.
Speaker 5 (15:30):
Watch enjoy it great music videos as a part of it.
But then this past week we had the Giving Tuesday
joy Ride where we have four guys on motorcycles riding
their bikes in twenty nine degrees. Whether they're nuts, it
was crazy in the best possible way, absolutely, but it
was a phenomenal day, an opportunity to continue to raise
awareness and help people remember that during this season, during
(15:50):
the Giving season, shout out Keith Randall during the Giving season,
during this Christmas season, that there are many who are
experiencing the cold all day, every day and every night
right and the purpose the purpose of this album is
to raise support to be able to fund the different
shelters that CCU runs. We have the overnight shelter for
the men at our Safe havevor and facility, but also
(16:11):
the newly expanded to year round shelter for women and
non binary individuals that have been open since mid.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
November, and that's thanks to Joy to the Burgh.
Speaker 5 (16:20):
Absolutely, Jody the Berg helped open that in twenty nineteen
and it continues to help it expand and grow, and
it's absolutely incredible. Our shelter manager has been overwhelmed at
the opportunities to care and support those who have come in.
It's just been incredible.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
On Sunday the fifteenth, that's going to be the show
at the Englewood and Brandon. You want to talk about
the artists that are performing this year?
Speaker 4 (16:45):
Yeah, sure, yeah, like you said, Sunday the fifteenth at
the Anglewood there in the Hershey Hummelstown area. Got a
full list of performers.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Starts off with Holly Sirio.
Speaker 4 (16:55):
We go to Antonio Androtti Great Effects is also there
and then as far as Bam we have the Starving
Musicians and closing things out will be the Groove Rebels
with none other than Greg Platzer and Amy Simpson more awesome.
Speaker 3 (17:09):

get their tickets ahead of time? Nick, Yeah, they.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
Yeh, absolutely, it is every year and some The ugly
radio guy is going to be the MC that day
and Santa will be the Santa Santa the know him Nick,
He's coming. More phenomenal Central Pa artists coming up from
the sixth annual Joy to the Burg project. This year
a double album Stay tuned. In fact, we've got trash
Juice Liam Galliano and I'll just say it my personal
(17:45):
favorite contribution to this year's project the Central Pennsylvania Youth
All Star band. They redid an eighties Christmas classic and
that's coming up for you all next on our Joy
to the Berg special on the local Show on the
River ninety seven three and iHeartRadio.
Speaker 21 (17:58):
In the depths of his mother basement, Glen Hamilton nearly
drove his poor mom insane.
Speaker 3 (18:04):
Turn that racket down and what's that smell?
Speaker 9 (18:07):
You better not be smoking down there.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
But it was these experiences that molded him into the
highly trained broadcast professional he is today, making Mom proud
with his masterful mix of real rock variety, the stuff
you need to.
Speaker 21 (18:21):
Know and stupid stuff you don't. That's my boy and
of course he still visits Mom.
Speaker 12 (18:26):
I thought you were gonna take that garbage out.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
Glen Hamilton, Mama's boy and your host, and.

never sounded so good.

It's our Joy to the Berg Special. The holidays are
in full swing and our neighbors here in Central PA
that are unhoused definitely needs your support this year and
every year, but especially this time of year. And that's
what Joy to the Berg is all about. Nick Mucci
from Christian Churches United and Joy to the Burg is
(19:29):
our special guest, and Nick, how can people contribute to
joyd to the Burg if they don't buy the album?
If they can't make it to the concert, absolutely you
can do the same thing. You go to Joydthberg dot com.
Speaker 5 (19:42):
There's that little donate button and the wonderful thing is
whether it's to the concert or the album or donation.
Thanks to many of our generous sponsors, every dollar you
give goes straight to the work, go straight to supporting
the shelters, the street outreach that happens year round to
those who are experiencing homelessness. So it is a it's
a great way. And also if people want to collect
(20:04):
items to give, we're talking hats, we're talking scarves and warmers, gloves,
they can do that too and reach out to us
and at info at CCUHBG dot org and we would
love to get them connected that way too.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
Awesome Nick, All.
Speaker 3 (20:16):

double album this year who we hitting up now from
Joy to the Burg Volume six.
Speaker 4 (20:25):

take on up on the Housetop. It's the Local Show.

Speaker 4 (20:33):
On the River ninety seven.
Speaker 2 (21:26):

Speaker 19 (24:52):

Speaker 3 (25:02):
The River ninety seventy three. This is our special joy
to the Burg edition of the Local show. That's Liam
Galliano featuring on a Cursed Etter on their version of
Deck the Halls, and we had trash Juice with their
instrumental take on up on the housetop.
Speaker 4 (25:15):
Little Jazz Christmas for you. Yes in the Central Pennsylvania. Yes,
in the Central Pennsylvania.
Speaker 3 (25:21):
What the hell I don't know?
Speaker 4 (25:24):
Yes, And the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame has
been partnering with Jordan the Berg for the past three
years now to curate the music. So we talked about
a double disc, right, I mean the demand for the
local artists to want to be a part of this project,
to give back, to contribute to help raise money for
the un housed. The demand is overwhelming, right, There's so
many local artists and that even goes back to you know,
(25:45):
famous artists from the from the sixties, seventies and up
to current day. Some of the acts on this that
we didn't mention we're not featuring here. We have Shanghai
and Friends. They're great band back in the late sixties.
Locally they reunited for the cause, just to put together
a version of Please Come Home for Christmas.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
Awesome.
Speaker 4 (26:03):
And you know, also there's a monster track supergroup on
here rocking around the Christmas Tree. That song actually features
Jeff Penninger on vocals, who does the Pennsylvania Pipeline TV.
But his backing musicians feature Brett Alexander The Bad Leaves,
Oh Nice, Paul the Bad Leaves as well. I think
Jeremy Hummel is on drums. He's from Breaking Benjamin yep.
(26:28):
So you know, on this this season, really we cranked
it up to eleven, as you say, amazing. If not,
we cranked it up to twelve, actually twelve to twelve,
twelve days at Christmas, twelve days at Christmas. There's as
you said, there's two discs. One's Red, one's green. Both
have twelve tracks on it and just enough to get
to get you through the holiday spirit with with a
(26:49):
taste of local music from all genres and all backgrounds.
And we're going to probably wait, there's so much music,
we'll probably do part two of our Joy to the
Berg special next Sunday, so stay tuned for that. But
we're gonna finish this week's show with what is my
personal favorite contribution to this year's disc because these young
artists are so phenomenal, the Central Pennsylvania Youth All Star Band,
(27:12):
which is put together by the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall
of Fame. Last year they recorded Boba O'Reilly from the
Who and got some incredible attention from the guys that
wrote the freaking song. Roger Daltree and Pete Townsend both
saw it and have just gone nuts over how good
it is. And who knows you might hear for some
famous people for this one. Brandon's so Bono or I
(27:34):
don't know, boy George, but this is an amazing version
of do They Know It's Christmas? Originally recorded by band Aid,
which was an all star group of just about everybody
from every genre in the eighties to help fight hunger
in Africa. Like the Christmas Song from the Live Aid
people that Bob Geldoff that brought you Live Aid. So
(27:55):
that here's the Central Pennsylvania Youth all star bands cover
of do They Know It's Christmas? It's the local show
on the River ninety seventy three.
Speaker 19 (28:09):
It's Christmas time.
Speaker 3 (28:13):
There's no need to be afraid.
Speaker 19 (28:18):
At Christmas time.
Speaker 3 (28:21):
Ween in light and we vanish it.
Speaker 10 (28:26):
And then all world.
Speaker 23 (28:29):
Of fancy, we can spread our smile of joy through
your arms around the world.
Speaker 17 (28:39):
Christmas side.
Speaker 11 (28:43):
The say affair.
Speaker 19 (28:48):
And play for the.
Speaker 9 (28:49):
Other ones.
Speaker 19 (28:52):
At Christmas time it's hard for all. We're having fun.
Speaker 9 (29:00):
This world outside you window and the world of dready.
Speaker 19 (29:10):
Where the kyst love can kill you.
Speaker 9 (29:14):
And mister Fane every tu.
Speaker 17 (29:18):
And the Christmas spell start ring.
Speaker 4 (29:21):
There are the clinging chimes of.
Speaker 3 (29:27):
Well tonight for reaching now in.
Speaker 17 (29:32):
Shani, bring peace, enjoy this Christmas to Western Africa.
Speaker 9 (29:44):
The song of Hope when there's no hope to night,
ye concert, verything.
Speaker 19 (29:58):
To touch you be scared?
Speaker 9 (30:01):
How can I know it's Christmas time as rimas and
know they.
Speaker 4 (30:18):
Is to come?
Speaker 9 (30:19):
Cat? No, it's Christmas time? Is Christmas Time's Christmas?
Speaker 19 (31:21):
Is Christmas Time?
Speaker 3 (31:27):
Is that amazing?
Speaker 13 (31:28):
Or what?
Speaker 5 (31:29):
My goodness? That's incredible?
Speaker 3 (31:31):
The Central Pennsylvania Youth All Star Bands cover of Do
They Know It's Christmas? It's on this year's double disc
Joy to the Berg Collection, Brandon Valentine. Who are the
artists that make up the Central Pennsylvania Youth All Star
Band on this one?
Speaker 4 (31:44):
Yes, shout out to Derek Houston first and foremore, first
and foremost at Green Room Recording Studio. The twelve Again,
that number comes up twelve Days of Christmas. A dozen
vocalists on the album. Some played instruments as well, but
every single person sung. They are all between the ages
of fourteen and eighteen, and that is Virginia Franks of
Burned the Jukebox, Adalie Park, Addie Grace, Juliette Ava Carlita
(32:09):
of Copper and Cash, Julia Denny, Noah Gibney, Ethan Valentine,
cz Mo, Ismael Levi Dickinson, and Alex Lee Warner. What
a cast of characters there as that's a super group
and as.
Speaker 3 (32:24):
They say, the video is amazing too. So look on
YouTube for this Central Pennsylvania youth all star bands. Do
they know It's Christmas? Our special guest tonight on Our
Joy the Berg Special is Nick Mucci from Christian Churches United,
and I just want to give you the microphone again
to just, you know, thank everybody who's already contributed, but
also to invite people out to the Big show and
(32:45):
everything else you guys.
Speaker 23 (32:46):
Have going on.
Speaker 5 (32:47):
Man to the twenty four different artists on this year's album,
we just want to say thank you. The music community
has been so generous these past six years, and to

for being a part of the album. Those of you
who are performing at Chris kendelmart who performed at the
PA Christmas and Gift Show and are performing at the
Englewood on December fifteenth from two thirty to six, thank

you so much for offering your time and your talent
for others to not only get people into the Christmas
spirit with your music, but also to find a way
to support those who need it.
Speaker 3 (33:20):
Most during this season, our un housed neighbors right here
in the Capital region. Well, Nick, thanks for coming in.
I think we're gonna do it. There's so much music.
I think we're gonna do part two next Sunday. What
do you say, Brandon?
Speaker 4 (33:31):

Speaker 3 (33:31):
