Speaker 1 (00:01):
Proudly Pa.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
This is the local show with a Central Pennsylvania Music
Hall of Fame on the River ninety seven three.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
All right, welcome to.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
The local show. It's season three, episode eight, and it's
a very special episode. Happy Star Wars Day. May the
fourth be with you. My name is Glenn Hamilton, or
I guess I could say DJ three Po and mi
Co Brandon Valentine from the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame,
or as we like to call him. Today on Star

(00:33):
Wars Day, chew Raka.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
I wish I could make that Chewbacca noise.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Oh look at that?

Speaker 4 (00:38):
How's that?

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Maybe I should beat chew raka and you could be
DJ three Po.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
There you go.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
All right, so this is the local show. We're highlighting
local music, but we're kicking off with some really this
is like a whole Space theme, right, a whole Star
Wars esque theme of this week's show.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
Right. Yeah. We like to do themes, and obviously with
it being made the fourth nationally known as Star Wars
Day for the phrase may the fourth be with you? Correct, Right,
We've we've tried to find some songs that maybe have
a loose tie with Space or Star Wars in the title,
but the first one to kick it off here is
on the nose, and it couldn't be more fitting as
far as starting it. There is a local parody band,

(01:17):
if you will, that's based out of the Linitz area
and they are called Galactic Empire. Yes right, I think
we played before, Yes, And they are a instrumental metal
band that does rearrangements of the Star Wars.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Music of John Williams score exactly.

Speaker 4 (01:36):
So, the Imperial March, all that kind of stuff. So
what a better way to start the Star Wars theme
show than with Galactic Empire and their version of the
main theme.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
It's the local show, Star Wars edition. May the fourth
be with you The River ninety.

Speaker 5 (01:53):

May the fourth be with You.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
That's dragon Fruit, Space Cadet and Galactic Empire out of
lit Its with their Star Wars main title metal version.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
Yes, so we did the main title. Then we we
established it with Space there right right, Space Cadet from
dragon Fruit. You see the you see the theme here
right a little loose. It's not like they're talking about
Star Wars in the song. But now we figured we
should mention Star right, Okay, fantastic? Who's this? So we
move on to CPMA Award winner John Smith's Voyages with

(11:37):
his track called Big Star.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
Okay, all right, all right, May the fourth be with you.

Speaker 3 (11:43):

in mind. But it's a great vibe there, especially for
an open mic. We have one coming up on Sunday,
May eighteenth, so that's two weeks from today, and then
we also have another one scheduled that May eighteenth. One

(17:49):
is with John Rossi as host, and the other one
coming up will be Tuesday evening at Copper Pub and Grill.

So if you're an artist out there listening, feel free
to come and showcase your skills. We always have members
of the board and advisory committee at the open mics.

Speaker 3 (18:11):

in my neighborhood.

Speaker 4 (18:14):
That'd be great, all right, so hit up.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
The cpmhof socials. They'll be posting all kinds of stuff

Speaker 3 (27:06):
And if I could ask, please just obi one more
song before.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
Episode all right?

Speaker 4 (27:15):
And we always like to end things with a band
that is either on the ballot for induction or has
been inducted into the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame.
And this band features a guitarist from the Dillsburg area, actually,
mister Christopher Thorn of Blind Melon. You may know their
song No Rain, absolutely very popular. I think you play
that on a rotation here without a doubt. This one

(27:36):
you may not know, but again it fits the theme
and it's got the local person in there with Christopher Thorn.
This is a song called Galaxy from Blind Mellon. And
by the way, we forgot to say earlier. I think
I think there was at least a solo musician and
there we could have said han solo anah. You know,
we run out of our our Star Wars deck to
run this theme into the ground as we should get

(27:58):
wait till next year. It happens once a year, that's true.
And considering this one is actually on Sunday night, it
works for us, because how.

Speaker 3 (28:06):
About I meant to be so? Blind Belly Galaxy on
our Star Wars edition of the Local Show on the
River ninety seventy three, May the Fourth be with You?

Speaker 6 (28:16):

Because the cat send me back me isn't me? No, no,
it isn't me. I'm not a home in my galaxy?
Oh yeah? Shall I do the things I want to

(29:27):

take a left and I'll second guess into total mills
and you're needing mare?

Speaker 11 (29:38):

Speaker 11 (29:52):

Speaker 3 (30:07):
The River ninety seven three Blind Melon with Galaxy. What's

(30:43):
the guitar player's name, Christopher Thorn. He's from Dillsburg. So
that's the local tie in of the of the band
that has made it big Blind Melon. Wrapping up our
Star Wars theme for Star Wars Day, May the Fourth
Be with You. You did a great job putting that together.
I'll tell you what local ties. What was challenging, You know,
I had to just kind of hunt for some keywords,
you know, space, star war or thank you Eternal Frequents. Yeah,

(31:08):
thank you for all the artists a scent like Wolves,
Eternal Frequency, John Smith's Voyages, Dragon Fruit, and Galactic Empire
who started us off with the main title from Star Wars.

Speaker 6 (31:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (31:17):
If you want to carry on the local music theme
here for Star Wars Day, head on to any anywhere
your stream music and search for Galactic Empire and just
just develop a playlist. Cause rock out, rock Out, Man,
Imperial March, all the good stuff for sure. Give it
a listen, all right, So may the Fourth be with you.
