area and G Love obviously a Philly native. And last

just graduated from wy Missing High School, which is actually
the same high school that Taylor Swift went. Ah too,
and now he has you know, flown North left the
Coop and he is a student at Berkeley School of Music.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
That's amazing, and he's impressing.

He's sitting in with his professors on like jam sessions
and clubs.

Speaker 6 (11:01):
Now.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
I saw he posted something from one of the clubs
and he's like, here are my professors and I'm just
kind of sitting in with him and they're all looking
at him like, Wow, this kid's something else, man. Yep,
he's a keyboard pary, talented guy. Keep it up, Noah,
And if you're listening out there, check him out on
all social media at Noah Gibney and see the amazing
stuff he's doing up there in Massachusetts.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Moving on to Caitlyn Shory.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
Now, yes, Caitlyn Shory, also a teenager from this area.
A good family friend of mine was getting some physical
therapy done actually, and I believe the physical therapist himself
said his daughter is a local singer and songwriter, and
that was kind of the introduction to Caitlin. We recently

(11:46):
worked with her on the Taylor Swift cover that we're
going to launch here quite soon. And I think this
is her second release into streaming. It's brand new from
her again. This is Caitlyn Shory and this is her
original called Purpose on the local show The River ninety seven.

Speaker 9 (12:02):
Thie looking at Me Loving new Art very soon Life,

Speaker 6 (12:38):
Heard of.

Speaker 18 (12:42):
And it's sort of romantic towards someone so far you
like you forget who they are to fall back, just
a big gracious look in my face and tell me.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
Me bother call to ruin me to go really face
right out.

Speaker 9 (13:12):
Of my sight because we know that.

Speaker 4 (13:16):
And all that. Don't look in my eyes. Well watch
my heart break.

Speaker 19 (13:22):
And I'm sure he did do on purpose.

Speaker 9 (13:31):
Sometimes I think you happy that.

Speaker 12 (13:37):

Speaker 6 (13:46):

Speaker 18 (13:48):

Speaker 4 (14:13):
All you up and lave me on my own.

Speaker 9 (14:18):
And I did it.

Speaker 19 (14:23):
On purpose, deep down, happy that I heard it.

Speaker 18 (14:36):
And it's sort of romantic to watch you so far
out of my life, afrigat who you are. It taught me,
loved me just to be gracious, look in my face,
knowing you know.

Speaker 4 (14:54):
Me, knowing you me.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
Caitlin Surey Purpose on the local show on the River
ninety seven, thirty sixteen years old, and that's an original song.
She wrote, what a great voice, Kaitlyn, keep up the
good work. Yeah, fantastic. And you, she said, a chiropractor's daughter,
physical therapist daughter.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
And that's you never know.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
You just got to if you're proud of your kid
and they're really good, do you never know who's gonna
hear about them when you got to talk them up?
You know, proud dad, proud mom. She's really she's really great.
This is the way my brain works. I got a
random question for you. They used the phrase on purpose
or Caitlyn uses the phrase on purpose there, right, I
heard recently. I'm curious, Glynn, which do you say? Do
you say by accident or on accident? By accident? By accident?

(15:43):
That's what I say too. Apparently it's a regional thing though,
apparently like here in the Northeaster in the mid mid Atlantic,
who say I did it on and a lot of
other people throughout the nation say on accident.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
I grew up in the South.

Speaker 3 (15:56):
Yeah, by accident there, I discovered it by accident, you know, right,
that's what I ran across it. By accident. I don't
say on accident. But you say on purpose. You don't
say by purpose? I say on purpose for sure, So
why not on accident? Stuff gone cross side? You just
blew my mind. Well, the theme for today is on purpose.
It's teens and youth, and we got some good stuff

(16:18):
coming up. Yeah, we got Alex Lee Warner live from
the Abbey Bar from our last open mic night that
we did there. There was a I got just warn
you there was a little bit of a technical glitch
in the recording that something with the bass amp wasn't
coming through, And we want to make everybody sound as
good as they possibly can, so Fred PELLEGREENI was able
to salvage the recording, so we don't hear the whole thing,

(16:40):
but we hear a good, good bit of it, and
it's kick ass. Alex Lee Warner an incredible guitar player,
and you're gonna hear him playing live from the Abbey
Bar next on the local show on the River ninety
seven to three and the iHeartRadio App. They take your
parking spot at work, they take your lunch from this
staff fridge.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
Please, they'd take your favorite Stafler come.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
And meanwhile you give them the sound of real rock
variety from your desk.

Speaker 15 (17:07):
You're welcome, everybody.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Life at work isn't always fair, but at least it
rocks with the River ninety seven to three am of the.

Speaker 8 (17:15):
No Repeat work Day.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
With the new IHAP Value menu, six bucks is all.

Speaker 20 (17:19):
In with the very best Christmas music ever made with
iHeart Christmas all your favorites one hundred percent commercial free.
Just open the app and search Holiday to fight Iheard
Christmas plus other holiday stations and playlists to put.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
You in a merry mood.

Speaker 20 (17:37):
Open the app and search Holiday to start listening.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
Now we're back with the local show on the River
ninety seven three. It's season three, episode thirty and tonight
we shine the spotlight on some of the youth artists
in central Pennsylvania and we're going to take you live
to the Abbey Bar from our last open mic night
with one of our absolute favorite local younger musicians. I mean,
this guy is he's hear the term old soul. He's

(18:06):
definitely beyond his years, Alex Lee Warner. He's an incredible
guitar player and what is he now? Seventeen sixteen sixteen grief.
So this was from the Abbey Bar, our last open
mic night that we did there. Yes, I think it
was back in August, and we've done it now twice.
And one of the things I'm most proud of with

(18:26):
these open mics that we've done throughout the area the
abbey Bar included is the amount of youth artists that
we bring out to these open mics. There's probably half
a dozen, if not more, so a lot of different
acts to choose from here for the youth themed episode
to be the Live from the Abby Bar track, but
we went with Alex Warner, and as Glenn mentioned before,

(18:47):
the break here there was I don't know, technical difficulties.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
We'll say with the bass towards the beginning of the track.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
And we have a Grammy nominated, Grammy Award winning I
should say Fred Fella Greeney mixing and master in these
and Fred was able to salvage like the second half
of the song. So it kind of fades in mid
portion of the song. It's still three and a half
minutes though, so you get a taste of it. We
want to make you sound as good as we possibly can.

(19:17):
Everybody that gets under the Local Show no doubt. And
this is the cover of Joe Bonamasa's The Ballad of
John Henry Again. It's alex Lee Warner on the River
ninety seven to three. It's the Local Show.

Speaker 6 (21:11):
Kill Johnny? You mean me?

Speaker 1 (21:16):
Did this hammer guarantee?

Speaker 6 (21:18):
The captains him why I'm going home.

Speaker 4 (21:22):
I'm a warned man with the captain.

Speaker 3 (21:25):
I'm a wanted man in the shackle, shom a walled
man in the shallow.

Speaker 6 (21:32):
I'm a watering man.

Speaker 21 (21:34):
The citizen say you kill shout Hey sience, its Sersen scs.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
The incredible alex Lee Warner live from the Abbey Bar
covering Joe Bonamasa. Yes, the Ballad of John Henry I
remember as you listened to that. Alex is the guitar player.
He does have a lead vocalist now, which is a
lead vocalist of Stricken, a Disturbed tribute band. He's worked
with Danikashiri of York as well in the past. But

(23:22):
it's kind of like a Santana situation right where it's
Alex Lee Warner gets his name alex Lee Warner Band.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
He's the lead guitarist. That's awesome.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
And he's seventeen, seventeen, sixteen sixteen. Sorry, Alex, make you
older than I are, but it's incredible. He's definitely beyond
his years as a human being, but also as a
guitar player.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
So sounds great.

Speaker 6 (23:43):
Man.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
All right, So who's next on the this week's local Show.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
This is the point of the show where we move
on to some acts who have graduated from the youth
program from this area. So this next one actually was
a participant in our youth music showcase last year. They
were I think they either are in college or they.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
Were in college.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
I'm not sure, but I believe they just moved to
Nashville to give music a go. It is an acoustic
duo and they go by the name of Blank Page
and this is their brand new one out on streaming services.
This is called to the Grave on the local show
The River ninety seventy three.

Speaker 22 (24:35):
Call us crazy, callus observe.

Speaker 8 (24:47):
You know, baby, this can't be put to rest on.

Speaker 9 (25:00):

Speaker 21 (25:05):

Speaker 4 (26:25):

Speaker 23 (26:34):

Speaker 8 (26:39):

You wals up to Evans.

Speaker 22 (28:10):
Gonaday good.

Speaker 4 (28:33):
Good good.

Speaker 3 (28:41):
That is blank Page to the Grave on the local
show on the River ninety seventy three. And now we're
moving on to uh, definitely an artist that is in
the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame collaborating with an
artist that is finally getting into the actual Rock and
Roll Hall Hall of Fame this coming Saturday, November eighth,

(29:03):
how about it? Maybe maybe we'll we'll we won't reveal
it yet, but yes, the local artist that is in
the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame, local band we
should say right yeah, is known as Hailstorm, and two
of those members obviously originating from this area and RJ.
Hale the drummer, and they were certainly teenagers, if not

(29:27):
pre teams in this area. I think RJ might have
been eleven or twelve we started playing in this area.
They would come into the studio here with Michael Anthony
Smith when we were down the hall down there on
the open mic night and come in and play live.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
They'd have their keyboard, their dad would come in. Yep. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
The original band was Lizzie on guitar and vocals, RJ
on drums, and their dad Roger on bass, and they
now have Joe Smith Josh Smith rather on bass and
Joe Haddinger on guitar. But yes, Hailstorm combined right on
this compilation record That's celebrates the Rock and Roll Hall
of Fame induction of none other than Bad Company. If

(30:05):
you check it out online, that whole album is Bad
Company's greatest hits done in collaboration with some of the
best rock artists of today. And Bad Company and Hailstorm
performing a cover of Shooting Star on the local show
on the River ninety seventy three.

Speaker 26 (30:35):
China was a school boy when he hosts post Beatles songs.
Let me do a thing it was and from there

the River ninety seven three Hailstorm in the Central Pennsylvania
Music Hall of Fame and Bad Company finally getting their
due and being an inducted into the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame officially this coming Saturday the eighth.

Speaker 1 (36:56):
So that's just badass right there.

Speaker 16 (36:58):
It is.

Speaker 3 (36:59):
Have you ever been to the rock and all of them?
I've been to the Hall of Fame in Cleveland. I've
never been to one of the induction ceremonies.

Speaker 1 (37:04):
Yeah, I mean either. Do they televise those?

Speaker 3 (37:06):
You know?

Speaker 1 (37:07):
So they do.

Speaker 3 (37:09):
HBO used to run them live and then they would,
but they'd be like six or seven hours long, and
then they pair it down to like a three hour special.
So I forget how they do it. Now I have
to check it out to watch watch Bad Company getting
ducked the heck yeah, man, for sure. Well that's going
to wrap it up for this week's Local show, anything
you want to cover, anything you want to plug. I
mean yes, don't forget. Yesterday the nominations for considerations opened up.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
They start.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
They started on November first and it runs through December
twenty second. Again, those are nominations for considerations for the CPMAS,
which is the Central Pennsylvania Music Awards. You can go
on our website and click on CPMAS at the top banner,
click on consideration and fill out the form there and

(37:56):
either nominate yourselves with your annual resume of what's you
accomplis us here in twenty twenty five as well as
if you're a fan, you can go on and nominate
your favorite artist for a CPMA as well, because that
ceremony will be coming up in spring of twenty twenty six.
You can also go to cpmahof dot com slash radio
if you want to submit your music to be considered

(38:17):
for airplay here on a future episode of a local show.
