Letters Turned Paper Airplanes.
Speaker 2 (10:55):

but then we go and running.
Speaker 12 (13:56):
Up he over.
Speaker 9 (14:03):
Are you seeing now, Sris?
Speaker 3 (14:19):
Catch me, Sir Dominique Jordan without you? On the local
show on the River ninety seven three. All genres are
represented here. We don't just play the rock because there's
(14:39):
so much more local music being made here in our
Central PA area, which we consider the middle third of
the state. And you know, when you reached out to
me with the idea about doing the local show and
kind of said we had liberties on Sunday night at
eight to be able to play different genres, I was.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
I was all in at that moment because.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
Having the freedom to showcase the different genres and the
talent is really what our area is about. And I'm
thankful for it that you reached out to me meet.
So I'm glad you said yes, yeah, because that was
all nervous and everything. I got down on one knee
and everything, and he's like, you want to come into
the studio and try this out?
Speaker 9 (15:15):
Oh man?
Speaker 2 (15:16):
And here we are, what three years later? Almost? Yeah,
so at least three seasons. I don't know how many
years it's been, but it seems like forever we have fun.
Oh man. All right, coming up, we're gonna do Stereoma.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
Yep, all right, Stereoma Carrie Edwards, and then our Central
Pennsylvania Music Hall of Famer this week, none other than
Jeffrey Gaines. Yes, and this is an interesting one to
play because it's it was actually written by someone else
who's in the Hall of Okay, that's fact.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
All right.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
We'll get to more of Central PA music on the
local show next to Keep It Here on the River
ninety seven three and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
We asked people what they love most about rock and roll.
Speaker 16 (15:58):
I like how these musicians can actually play their instruments
and it doesn't sound like a bunch of new age
crap for me.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
It's just that rough analog sound and yeah, there's nothing
quite lanked to and what they don't well, I think
that pretty much sums it up right there. The people
have spoken. This is the River ninety seventh rae. It
really is why I love the River so much.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
Great radio station, Central PA's real rock variety.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
We're back with the local show on the River ninety
seven three and iHeartRadio app. I'm Glenn Hamilton. This is
Brandon Valentine. Yes, indeed, curate the music here for the
local show. We try to showcase all genres and we
featured hundreds and hundreds of different area artists right here
from Central Pennsylvania. And up next is none other than Stereoma.
(16:44):

eponymously titled, Is that correct?

river ninety seven three.
Speaker 9 (22:01):

Speaker 16 (22:02):
Horizon, see the glory of the morning sun. Nothing feels
and personable. We're on fire and ready to run.
Speaker 4 (22:15):
This is everything we've worked for.
Speaker 16 (22:19):
Nothing's gonna stop us now. We've been together, relying on

Speaker 2 (24:30):
That is brand new from Carrie Edwards.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
Her latest song, Conquerors, just came out on the tenth
as a matter of fact, yes, uh and actually per Friday,
that's right. Purpose on that ten ten release date as Friday,
October tenth, it was world where is this World Mental
Health Awareness Day? So this track Conquerors very high energy
(24:55):
anthem and it's about perseverance, unity and triumph, you know,
celebrating the strength that it takes rise together and overcome anything.
So very fitting on the release date there with World
Mental Health Awareness. Very nice, Carrie, thank you for all
you do and contributing to the local show as well. Now,
as we always like to wrap up each week's episode
(25:16):
with an artist who's either in the Central Pennsylvania Music
Hall of Fame or in the ballot, and this guy
was in what the second class of all time? That's right,
like class number two. He's not second class, he's in
He's in the second class. Uh, the one and only
Jeffrey Gaines. Yes, and we're going to play a track
here off his eponymously titled album. I think it was
(25:37):
what was a Chrystalis Records? I think is Chrysalis, Yeah,
Chrysalis Records.
Speaker 2 (25:41):
There we go.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
A fine, fine organization anyway, not are they? Oh I
was gonna say, are they? iHeartRadio fills, So they're not.
I'm sure they're fine. I think there was some screwy
stuff that went around in there, but I don't know. Okay,
I've had a label label stuff in Central PA artists
or just it's a it's a tale as old as
his time. Fortunately, but these artists rise above all that
(26:03):
crap and continue to make great music no matter what.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
Yes, and again that the CD.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
Or this album released in nineteen ninety two by Jeffrey Gaines,
kind of shot him into the stratosphere. Track number one
was Hero and Me, which went nationwide on the charts
as well. And two songs on this album were actually
co written by this area's you know celebrity.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
Shae Quinn. That's right, Shaye David Quinn co wrote this one,
so he wrote.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
He co wrote Love Disappears, which is on the album yep,
and the track We're about to play This is what
It Is by Jeffrey Gaines, co written by Shay Quinn.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
On the local show The River ninety seven to three.
Speaker 19 (26:51):

The more time now I stared riding to you.
Speaker 9 (27:08):
In the deeves up that tange.
Speaker 19 (27:12):
I remember how I took you in and kept you long,
gave you shelter from the storm, and as soon as
the cloud would break.
Speaker 12 (27:24):
In the sun of bell should be off and run.
Speaker 9 (27:27):
Then why that is it?
Speaker 19 (27:29):
Tease made it other in you, but bed night can't
seem to get you.
Speaker 9 (27:34):

Speaker 3 (30:20):
Jeffrey Gaines from his self titled album That Is What
It Is, co written by Shay Quinn on the local
show The River ninety seven three. That's our Hall of
Fame artist right there. To close out this week's episode.
Gotta love Jeffrey gaines Man. Such a smooth voice, and
he still plays around here locally. If you get the
chance to go see him. Sometimes he'll pop in on
(30:41):
as a random guest on one of Shay's shows.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
But even if he's if he's so, it's worth the drive.
Speaker 6 (30:46):
Man.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
The guy is super talented and has such a great voice.
He was part of the Susan Giblin Foundation show, the
Bruce Springsteen Show at the Englewood Yep, not too long ago.
It just he's He plays all over the place and
just one of the most dynamic performers. It's tough to
get up with for a lot of people to get
up with just an acoustic guitar and own the place,
(31:09):
and Jeffrey always does that. He gets the audience in
the palm of his hand. He's the consummate performer, storyteller.
He's hilarious. It's just a if you've never seen Jeffrey live,
you need to make that.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
Happen at some point.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
So and a fun fact, Jeffrey and myself both went
to the same middle school and had the same middle
school band teacher. Really yep, who was Mick Cochran. Mister Cochran.
Mick Cochran, all right, great guy, I did not know that.
That's pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (31:36):
I know, right.
Speaker 3 (31:37):
