Actually I followed along on social media, you know, saw
all the posts and was seeing where you were at. Man,
the landscapes were amazing, and I was actually thinking, maybe
we do like a theme this week of like going west? Right,
I was thinking, you know, like it Bible goes west,
you know, Glen.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Bow goes west. Isn't there a band called go West? Yeah?

can see.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
I used to play that there the crap on them
a long time. We focus on local music, that's right.
So no theme today, but happy to be back after
Labor Day, how about it? And we've got to You've
lined up an excellent playlist for us of local artists
to spotlight this week. As always branded thank you, it's
always tough to choose from. We have a huge backlog.

(01:13):
A lot of submissions come in. Heck daily, I was
gonna say weekly if not daily, or daily if not weekly,
I guess is the right way to say it.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
There we go. But yeah, huge backlog of songs.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
A lot of ones we're going to focus on today
are brand new to digital streaming platforms. And are we
going to be making their radio debuts right here on
the local show. Absolutely, dude, and who are starting off
with first? Yes, starting off with first here right. This
is a band called the April Sky.

so they've played they played Toys for Tots and they
played our birthday bash before too.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Okay, nice, I didn't know that.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Yeah, they're doing a record release coming up here next
month on October eighteenth. It's Saturday, October eighteenth at the
angle Wood. And uh, you know who's opening up for him,
The Jelly Brick.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Oh, that's right, that's awesome.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Yeah, my buddy, our buddies, the Jelly Break, our buddies.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
The Bricks.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
That's right, it's our buddies, the Bricks and the Skies.
It's the April Skies. Check out their record release party Saturday,
October eighteenth at the Anglewood. This is their new single.
It's called Lights on the Local Show the River ninety
seventy three.

Speaker 12 (04:13):
Then that's stock so will somehow up. That's so much.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
Snots The April Skies brand new. The song is Lights

(05:45):
on the Local Show on the River ninety seventy three.
It's Glenn Hamilton Brandon Valentine with a show chock full
of the best. Central PA has to offer just some
of the best, because there are dozens, if not hundreds,
have incredible local artists here just in our listening area.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
That's fair to say.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
I haven't done the calculation recently, but I bet you
we have featured over five hundred artists here on the
Local Show and easily.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
What are we on season three three? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Season three, episode twenty two, So I think we're probably
coming up on what sixty some shows? Easy? Oh, easily,
and we feature five each time. So yeah, we're in
hundreds of artists that we've featured because that's what we
like to do. We're shining the spotlight on the local
artists so you can hear them and go, hey, you
know what, I like that, and become a fan of

(06:34):
a local musician, Go see their music live. Yeah, follow
them on socials, follow them.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Here's an artist we've featured before, Amber nadan Correct. This
is Amber Nadine's latest. It's called The Final Hit. I
think it's kind of an ode to domestic violence. Oh wow, heavy,
heavy stuff, heavy subject matter, and the song reflects that,
you know. I think it's over six minutes and it
builds starts a little bit, you know, emotional with the

(07:00):
with the piano, and builds up well. Music is a
perfect art form to tackle a subject as heavy as
domestic violence. Here's Ambernadine, the final hit on the local
show on the River ninety seventy three.

Speaker 13 (07:17):
So I guess this is its final hite and low.

Speaker 14 (07:25):
Hate that the excelso started out to see.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
That it be town for you?

Speaker 14 (07:46):

feels like half my life it is gone. That's not

Speaker 11 (15:48):
If you meet me there, tell me what you'll find.

Speaker 12 (15:53):
Care your words on the table my tongue, Tom said,
Lad for another.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
The local show on the River ninety seven to three,
that's seven hours ahead, stuck and before that, Amberdain Deane's latest,
the final hit.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Let's talk about seven hours ahead.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
In the way they spell their band name, they're one
of these bands that spells their name in a very
cool way.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
They take the vowels out and use.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
The number well, at least only in the first word
that's true, which is also a combination of letters and
a number seven. So seven hrs seven hours ahead.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
It's cool. It's cool.

Speaker 1 (16:43):
I love the name of the band, and we like
to specify sit because you are going to look them
up and you're going to follow them. So seven hrs
space ahead with them up, follow them And that's their
latest song, Stuck.

Speaker 2 (16:55):
Yes, and I enjoyed it too. I think that one
was recorded with Derek as well.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
A green room busy these days, yeah, no doubt, and
I think you know, it's got a little bit of
like a sublimey kind of vibe.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
But yeah, totally great stuff. Gents, keep up the good work.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
So we'll take this time to let you guys know
that a couple of weeks ago we hosted open mic
Night the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame and the
River over at the Abbey Bar. Record turnout definitely, you
know why, because people want to hear their stuff on
the radio. I want to be recorded professionally by the

(17:29):
one and only Fred BELLEGREENI Grammy Award Winner, Grammy Award
winning and be heard on the local show. Which is
so awesome to see the turnout that we got for that.
And Fred is busy working his magic making everybody sound phenomenal.
So we're going to get those cut up and over
here soon. I think next week the next episode is

(17:50):
when we're going to start rolling out some of these
open mic night performances.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Yes, we are, and.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
There's there's a ton of great ones. As as Glenn said,
the line was out the door for the doors even
open up to get in there. And also there was
a lot of you know, just local fans that came
out just to see and watch and support. So yeah,
everything everything we hoped it would have been, it wasn't
then some so we're working out plans to do another

(18:16):
open mic maybe before the end of the year. Yeah,
it's such high demand that obviously it's something that this
area needs in once. Yeah, and there are let us
say this also, there's an open mic every Thursday night
at the Abbey Bar.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
There's open mics everywhere almost every night of the week.
You can find us. Yeah, if you want to play
your stuff.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
We're just trying to find a way to highlight these
artists even more and elevate and do our port to
our part to support the open mics. We're not trying
to take away from anything or overshadow anything. For crying
out loud, We're trying to elevate, that's all we're trying
to do. And we've partnered with so many different venues too,
almost on a monthly open mic that you know, the

(18:56):
partnership with the guys Moon Peak Productions and Abby Bar
and back to back years and that model, you know,
is something I think we got to replicate because, as
you stated, people want to be recorded by a Grammy
Award winner and people want to hear their stuff on
the radio, and that's.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
What we do here for sure. And we even went out.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
We were out at Erica Everest's open mic at the
Doghouse a month or two back in the summer, and
so we weren't able to record it, but it was
just cool to be there supporting a lot of board
members from the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame. We're
out supporting, So that's what I mean. We're out supporting
and if we can elevate in any way, we're happy
to help out.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
All right.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
Coming up, we've got music from Harmony Holler, Msjr. And
Central PA favorites, the legendary Big Tuba Mista with a
throwback coming up on the local show on the River
ninety seven three and iHeartRadio.

Speaker 16 (19:46):
As the new daydawns and the world beckons here, there's
no need to start your day to hastily turn off
the morning news and all that depressing crap and turn
on real rock variety Glenn Hamilton Mornings.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
It's the way to get to work without harsh ear.

Speaker 7 (20:02):
Vives, Crazy about as Shot.

Speaker 16 (20:07):
Eight Day Mornings five to ten on the River ninety
seven to eighty, and the free iHeartRadio app Our twenty twenty.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
Right here, Hello, Hello, we are back again.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
We featured a lot of new tracks here, the first
three being April Skies, Ambernadine and seven Hours Ahead. Basically
just came out here within the past couple weeks, and
this one I think is almost a year old, if
not over a year old here. But the artist that
we're featuring here is Harmony Holler. We featured Desi Renee

(20:38):
as a solo country artist on here, and this is
her I don't know, an acoustic duo trio. I think
they've kind of done different iterations of it, even up
to a full band as well. So Harmony Holler, this
is their single Marie I Miss You. It's the local
show on the River ninety seven to three and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 7 (21:13):
This is like laughing copy that work.

Speaker 11 (21:19):
Stop listen.

Speaker 11 (25:30):

Speaker 1 (26:55):
Brand new from the band ms j R on the
local show The River ninety seven three called Toxic and
Harmony Holler started off this set, Marie, I miss you. Yes,
great stuff from MSJR. We featured them several times here
on the local show. And I saw that name toxic,
and you know who the first artist I thought of,
Glenn Brittany.

Speaker 2 (27:15):
Brittany and.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
Right you hear that that's swell in there, but far
from it. Great work MSJR. Good stuff, And as always,
we like to feature an artist at the end of
the show that's either in the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall
of Fame or is on the ballot to be considered
for a future induction. So who do we have tonight, buddy, Yes,
this band you teased it earlier. They were around in

(27:39):
the nineties and the early two thousands here and the
it's like we like to call it the.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
Zoot Suit era.

Speaker 1 (27:45):
Yeah, and they got as big as you can get
on the local scene, man, and then some they're just
in such a fun band to go see live. I
miss them, Yeah, yeah, I think you know Rich Gad
member of the band. I believe he doesn't even live
in this in the area now. I think he moved
down south somewhere. But man, what a great band. And again,
that zoot suit kind of what's the right word, I

(28:05):
don't know. I want to say rockabilly, but that's not it.
You know, it's kind of like a swing big band swing, Yeah,
for sure, like you know the Swingers.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
Yeah, right.

Speaker 1 (28:12):
Movie brought some of that stuff into the forefront, and yep,
they were already doing it. Big Tub of Mesta was
already doing it before that movie came out, for sure.
And this is one of their their hit singles, Big
Tub of Messa. It's off their Greatest Hits album Here
it is Killer on thirty Seventh Street on the local
show The River ninety seven.

Speaker 6 (29:08):
And the Night Out on the.

Speaker 18 (29:11):
Town on the Girl's shining cars, bid him alone.

Speaker 6 (29:17):
Movie wasn't say. Paddy sat there at his bark.

Speaker 4 (29:23):
That was the thing.

Speaker 18 (29:24):
Nanny god of done nothing he could say. When the killer.

Speaker 6 (29:32):
Rived, then call this guy and Blue Billy. The ladies
were gasping bill down the killers. They were grazing, no
w to start down the coppers and strapping down all
their riding exit the trailer from First and Street.

Speaker 18 (30:08):
His face was dark with a deadly glow, no emotions,
no remorse, very stroll into the casino. The boys were
out in force. Willie mccrane was throwing the die when
the mantled his shiny peace. As the smoke drifted from

(30:32):
his empty.

Speaker 11 (30:34):
BARRELI fell out to his knees.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
The dump sand.

Speaker 11 (30:39):
The monsters were.

Speaker 6 (30:40):
Taking my spies. He was out of cyber a pretty size.
Nobody knew but my fess cape and against the killer
of very set of street.

Speaker 8 (31:21):
Didn't believe in anything.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
All the ball.

Speaker 8 (31:36):
Any anything.

Speaker 4 (31:56):
To be said about.

Speaker 18 (32:10):
Perruped from the bottom to the top. The township can
march a fright.

Speaker 6 (32:17):
There was no ant scene that could.

Speaker 7 (32:20):
Be redeemed from this killer in the.

Speaker 18 (32:23):
Night latus quickly hellen owl again. The killer disappeared and
left this town and his deadly way and a legacy
of me.

Speaker 6 (32:40):
By summer legend round, I was home through the night time,
trembling out a sound at n in the alleys. They
shuper lived three They not guess the Killer A.

Speaker 1 (32:53):
Thirty sun Street, Central Pa legends Big Tuba Mist on

(33:21):
the local show The River ninety seven to three from
their greatest hits Killer on thirty seventh Street.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
I missed those guys, uh.

Speaker 1 (33:28):
I used to love to go see them, and they
are certainly on the ballot for consideration for future induction
into the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame. Yes, and
such a different vibe that was in the in the
nineties and the two thousands there, you know, with that
zootsuit era, as we said, kind of jazz, kind of swing,
big band, little rock, little punk, oh yeah, kinds of stuff.

(33:49):
And uh yeah, missed that style of music too. Maybe
it'll it'll come back at some point here.

Speaker 2 (33:54):
Yeah, all right, and uh that's gonna do it.

Speaker 1 (33:56):
