Parasite Blues new from Ben Brandt on the Local Show
on the River ninety seven to three. All right, So
we always like to wrap up each week's show with
an artist who is either in the CPM CenTra Pennsylvania
Music Hall of Fame or on the ballot for consideration.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
Who we spotlighting this week? Yes, this is one of
my favorite to discuss. Jonathan Groff. He is an actor.
He is a Broadway artist. All the theater girls is
like all the theater people are like, oh my god,
the theater, right, And that's been that's been a topic too,
is you know Wood Broadway musical theater also be considered,
you know, an artist or a singer songwriter and all
the all the mix that we've done here as far
(23:39):
as acknowledgment in the Music Hall of Fame.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
I believe yes, I say heck yes.
Speaker 3 (23:43):
He was very very active at e PAK, which is
an effort of Performing Arts Center as a as a kid,
growing up and as a young adult.
Speaker 1 (23:53):
And he was in Hamilton on a Grammy. He also
the King, that's right.
Speaker 10 (23:58):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
And he also played Christoph in the Frozen movies.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
And he was in the original Broadway production of Spring Awakening,
which yes, Bear Bones just did at Theatre Harrisburg back
in the summer correct. And now last month he just
released a new album that is the original Broadway cast
of Justin Time.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
Familiar with that one? Is that stuff?
Speaker 6 (24:23):
Is that?
Speaker 1 (24:24):
Was that Bobby Darren?
Speaker 3 (24:25):
I think?
Speaker 1 (24:25):
Yeah, right, yeah, some.
Speaker 3 (24:29):
Beyond the Scene, that's right, And that's exactly what we're
gonna feature here.
Speaker 7 (24:32):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
This is from the Justin Tyne album justin Time album,
the original Broadway cast of justin Time, and Jonathan Groff
this is him singing Bobby Darren's Beyond the Sea on
the local show The River ninety seven to three.
Speaker 7 (24:51):
Somewhere.
Speaker 15 (24:54):
Beyond the Scene, somewhere waiting for Me, my lover stands
on golden sand.
Speaker 7 (25:05):
And watch chose the ships leto say Beyond the scene.
She's there watching for me. If I could fly black
birds on.
Speaker 6 (25:25):
That straight to.
Speaker 13 (25:27):
Her arms, I'd go, say, Lynn, it's fine.
Speaker 7 (25:34):
Beyond the start, it's me beyond the loon, I know,
beyond doubt.
Speaker 5 (25:47):
My heart will leave me all.
Speaker 13 (25:52):

Speaker 7 (26:01):

Speaker 2 (27:50):
Jonathan Groff covering Bobby Darren under the Sea from the
Justin Times soundtrack on The Local Show on the.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
River ninety seven three.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
I think Justin Jonathan Groff Justin absolutely should be on
the ballot for consideration of the Hall of Fame. He's
made such a mark, mostly on Broadway obviously, but just
you know music period.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
He's just a great artist.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
Yeah, he's one of those I don't know what they
call him, triple threats still, I guess as far as actor, singer, dancer, dancer,
all those kind of things.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
Some of the other acting things. He's been in the
New Matrix movie. He was in.
Speaker 3 (28:24):
What is that murder show that was on mind Hunters
nine Hunters. Yeah, that was a good one. So yeah,
just a great guy. And he still comes back to
the area too. He's still very involved their effort as well.
So Jonathan Groff a local legend and still continues to
do great things in the broadway world.
Speaker 2 (28:42):
All right, So we just want to put a plug
in again because it'll be here before you know it.
