Speaker 1 (00:00):
This hour of programming on seven ten WR. He's sponsored
by Toyota City and Mamaranac and Nissan City of port Chester,
proud members of the Integrity Automotive Group. Now former Westchester
County executive Rob Astrea on seven ten.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
All right, you're ready. This is the best hour of
your Saturday, at least maybe your weekend. I'd say your
whole week, but you know I'm prejudiced on this one.
Rob Astor Reno here on seven ten WR. It's good
to have you with us. It felt like it felt
like the fall this week. We had snow in Westchester.
On what day was it, Monday, Tuesday? Whatever day was,

(00:47):
It was snowy. It didn't stick, but it was snowy.
So here we go. The first day I wore a jacket.
I had to wear a jacket. Today I actually really
didn't need to. It was warm enough. But this morning
when I left the house, it was a little chilly.
But but you got around okay, everything was okay on
the road. Uh, what do you mean, Bruce? Another hazard

(01:08):
comes from the very thing that helps keep eyes from forming.
On the high insurance, it's road salt.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Yeah, so last week it's your windshield a layer of
salt is left behind.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
If you run out of washer fluid and salt builds up,
your visibility can be dangerously reduced. I had to go
through five hours of that to get ten percent off
my insurance, and I did. I actually got their certificate
this week, but that was part of the New York State.
You go on this website I Drive Safely dot com
or whatever it is, and you sit yuck dot yuck.

(01:41):
You sit there and listen to that garbage for five hours.
Now you watch a video. You pay ten dollars more
to watch the video. Actually, otherwise you would just read
for five hours and click on the right answers. Oh
my god, another hazard comes from them. You know what
I did, And I don't know if I should say
this now. I'm not gonna say it that I put
the video on and walked away at times. All right,

(02:05):
So look a couple things and we'll get to your calls.
At one eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten.
That's it's actually a very easy number to remember, toll
free one eight hundred, and then you start with a three,
you go down three two one, and then it's the
it's it's what we're on the dial seven ten with

(02:26):
a zero in front of it, zero seven ten, one
hundred three to two one zero seven ten. Okay, first off,
I did speak this past Tuesday, and I'm sure she'll
want to comment on this later, but I did speak
at the Women's National Republican Club on on Veterans' Night,
and it was great, nice crowd, and we got to
have a good honest dialogue about what happened the previous

(02:49):
week in New York City with the election, what's going
to happen going forward in New York City with this
buffoon ready to take office in January. And by the way,
you know, as of night Tuesday night in Seattle, the
incumbent mayor was winning and he was running against a
far left socialist. Well Wednesday morning they updated the recount

(03:12):
and declared that the winner in Seattle is another socialist outright,
I mean communist, that's what she is, and she's gonna
take over. This woman, Katie Wilson. Boy, what a resume
she's got. Literally, she's been a barista, a boatyard worker,

(03:34):
an apartment manager, a lab technician, a baker, a construction worker,
or legal assistant. Nothing wrong with any of those, but
she's had nothing to do with government, and it didn't matter.
It didn't matter at all in Seattle, didn't matter here
in New York. That ma'am Dommi never had a job.
And her family is rich. I mean, I love the

(03:55):
irony of these rich white people. She is a product
of New York. She grew up in Binghamton. And then
so get this, this is how stupid she is. Her
parents paid for her to go to Oxford. That ain't cheap.
She went to Oxford, she comes out debt free, and

(04:15):
you know, if I were her parents, I would strangle her.
She literally she left. She dropped out of Oxford six
weeks before graduation. She never got a degree. Could you
imagine that? Could you imagine sending your kids to Oxford
paying for everything. They drop out right before graduation and

(04:35):
they do not earn a degree. Oh, she's gonna be
the new mayor of Seattle. We could watch the train
wreck in slow motion. That's what we're going to see
the next four years. Here's what I want to talk
to you about, all right, And I'm obviously you know
I love your opinions, even the dopey ones, but I

(04:56):
love them one hundred and three to two, one zero
seven ten, So a couple things, and it has to
get it really, it has to do with internal Republican
politics and fights. Now we've spoken a lot about the Democrats,
and they deserve it. In the whole shutdown, you saw
what's called the civil war. Now AOC kind of leading

(05:18):
the charge against Chucky Schumer and where that's going to
end up. She'll likely run percent and I don't think
she'll run for president. But it's kind of like out
with the old guard and the new ones are biting
at their ankles and they are far worse than what
we have now, but they're the ones that are on

(05:39):
the assent in the Democratic Party. So that's going to
be the future. And we keep hearing about everything going
on over there on the left, and it's true, it's happening.
It's great to watch, and hopefully they splinter and their
fracture is so big that they don't win elections that
maybe they should. Anyway, it's an opportunity if if we

(06:02):
don't go down the same path, and there are there
are little chips now you can see it happening, and
I'm wondering what you're thinking, if it's big enough or
if it's just nothing but a couple things. We'll start
with Donald Trump and MTG Marjorie Taylor Green totally going

(06:25):
at it. So, I mean, she was on the View
what last week and she just totally played into them.
There's no doubt about it. She could have had a
fight with them. She really could have taken it to those,
you know, the view liberals and I think advanced the cause. Instead,

(06:46):
she went in there, she disarmed them by kind of
agreeing with them, and I know a lot of people
on the right really got ticked off at her, and
I think rightfully so. So Trump, you know, is for
whatever reason, does not want all of the Epstein files
to come out. Now, look, there might be reason why

(07:08):
he shouldn't want them out. I don't know. Everything we
know as of now is there's nothing in them and
anything that would have come out. I mean, please, let's
be honest. Joe Biden and the DOJ, Merrick Garland and
all the other hacks, they had access to every file
when they were in charge, and if there was one
little thing in there that they could have even misconstrued,

(07:30):
they would have thrown that out to the public and
did everything possible to damage Trump with the Epstein files
that would have helped either Biden run for reelection or
obviously would have help Kamala Harris. They obviously didn't have
any of the goods. So there's nothing there there we
know that. We know from the Republicans on the committee
who looked at it. There's nothing there. You know, there

(07:53):
might be some embarrassment here and there, but there's nothing nefarious.
There's nothing criminal. I mean, it's possible to believe that
there is, otherwise it would have come out right. So Trump,
for whatever reason, is really you know, he doesn't want
it out. Okay, Now you have a lot of Republicans
who are kind of on records saying, well, and Trump too,

(08:15):
we're gonna we're gonna expose everything. We're just gonna dump
the files and everyone the public outh access to them.
Hasn't happened. So MTG is leading the cause to along
with other Republicans by the way, to have a data dump,
just like demand that the FBI released the files. Trump
obviously is is ticked off, so he and Marjorie Taylor

(08:38):
Green are now in this big public fight and they're
saying things that you know, you hope we would just
stay behind closed doors, because once it's out, it gets
tougher to pull back, you know, And that's kind of
what we're going through. And then, of course you had
the Tucker Carlson stuff with the Heritage Foundation and you know,

(08:59):
some of the Nick Fuent days, who is a deplorable
person and an outright anti semi outright white supremacist. I mean,
there's no reason we should be given this guy an
ounce an ounce of airtime. He can do whatever he
want on his own podcast. But why we're spotlighting him,
I don't know. But anyway, doctor Carlson does this whole thing,

(09:22):
and it becomes a right on right again anti Semitism
growing in the Republican Party. Blah blah blah, all good
talking points for the left, all good things they've got
in their back pocket that they can pull out when
they need it, and they're gonna pull it out when
they need it. So these things are happening, and it

(09:42):
could be, you know, we're going into the midterms. This
is the last thing we want. What we want is
unified Republican Party against a very fractured Democratic Party right now,
and unfortunately, on the surface, on the surface, it's not
seeming that way now, hopefully it's just a little passover

(10:05):
and it won't it won't grow into anything big, and
you know, they'll just bury the hatch and they'll move on,
because next year is the whole thing. If we don't
hold the House and send it almost more so the House.
But if we don't hold the House, then it's just
gonna be forgetting. If they take over one of the chambers,
nothing's going to get done the next two years, and

(10:25):
they're just gonna go after Trump in every way possible.
So we got to hopefully hold onto the House, okay,
and we can only do that if you're unified. Now,
let me get into what could possibly be a problem
in the Republican Party here in New York. So we
got a governor's race coming up. Two great candidates, one

(10:46):
already in elist Dephonic and she's fantastic, and another who
is looking to run coming off of a major win
in Nasau County. That's Bruce Blakeman. So I've been in
Bruce's Okay, when I ran in twenty two. I you know,
it was supposed to be what we were told was

(11:09):
that it was going to be an opportunity for all
the candidates it was me, Andrew Giuliani, Lee Zelden, Harry Wilson.
Everyone had an opportunity go around the state, talk to
the party chairs, make your case, raise your money, go
to the events, and we will make a decision based
on all the county chairs with their votes. And each

(11:31):
vote is weighted based on the number of votes your
county cast for the Republican candidate in the last guberatory election.
That's how it gets divvied up. Nasau comes in with
a lot stuff, it comes in with a lot. You know,
so the bigger counties obviously have more sway, but you know,
you go around the state and you cobble together as

(11:52):
much support as you can. So we were told that
we could have basically an opportunity to go around, even
though they were pushing Lee Zelden from the very beginning. Okay,
so that's what we're told. We start doing that, and
all of a sudden the process changed and they basically
shut us out and they basically handed it to Lee.

(12:12):
And I think Lee was a great candidate, and I
supported him one thousand percent after the primary, and I
think he's doing a hell of a job as an
EPA commissioner. EPA administrator, but at the time we became
fractured and ended up running a primary because the process
wasn't open, and it wasn't it wasn't from our perspective

(12:34):
the three other candidates, it wasn't fair, and that caused
a big problem. And it looks like they're going down
that same path right now, which is why. And I
haven't talked to Bruce about this, but it looks like
this is why Bruce is saying, Hey, wait a minute,
I just won a major campaign in Nassau County, which

(12:54):
we as a party must win and win big in
order to win the governor's race. And so I got
the crossover appeal. I got Democrats voting for me. I
got the votes that we're gonna need in a huge
area with a huge way to vote at the convention,
and you're just telling me to go to hell. I
could see why he's upset. Now he is just making

(13:15):
the pitch going around the state. But I can tell
you what he's going through is probably it's probably not
worthwhile because from what I've heard, and at least you
know the day, I think it was Monday or Tuesday
this week, she already announced and she put a list
of a lot of county chairs who are already backing her.

(13:38):
So it's similar to twenty two and that the party
leadership wants to make sure that we're unified and that
there's no primary. And I get that because primaries could
be good and they can be bad. Okay, sometimes they're
good in that they sharpened the debate, they sharpen the issues,
they create attention for the issues, they create excitement, and

(14:00):
as long as you don't like totally rip each other's
eyes out, you come out of it. Okay. So Blakeman
is going around the state and I think they're, you know,
maybe give him a little courtesy. But in the end,
the deal is probably already sealed, and my guess is
a Lease already has all the votes she needs. And

(14:20):
I'm not saying it's not good because I'm I'm in
favor of a process, because I've went through this and
I've been in the other's other position. I do think
no matter what we are, we are blessed with two
winning candidate, whoever is picked, and my guess is going
to be a Lease, and I could I'm very happy
with that. She's amazing. I've known her for a long time,
she raises a hell of a lot of money, and

(14:42):
she'll be great. My guess is she already has the vote.
She probably will have the Conservative Party endorsement already, and
and that's gonna leave Bruce with a really tough decision
whether or not to try to go through go through
the process of a of a primary and get yourself
up on the ballot without you know, without the institutional support,

(15:04):
although he would probably have Nassau and Suffolk, which would
be a lot of foot soldiers to help and go
around the state. You can't get it off in one area.
You have to get x amount of petitions signed in
x amount of areas of the state, and so it's balanced.
So I mean, that's I mean, we were able to
do it, and the other candidates were able to do it,
and they all told us we couldn't, but we did.

(15:25):
So it's possible. It's just a lot of work and
a lot of people. You got to build an apparatus.
So here's my question to you, is there something going
on right now in the Republican Party that worries you?
As we go forward to next year the midterms nationally
and locally, the governor's race is it worrisome to you?

(15:45):
And also, you know a lot of Republicans listen to this,
A lot of Republican leaders listen to this show. Here's
your chance. Who do you prefer? Do you prefer Bruce
Blakeman or do you prefer a least dephonic. Now Blakeman's
close to where we are. Eleise is from upstate New York.
But I mean, you know, she's dominated the headlines over

(16:06):
the last several years, going after these ridiculous colleges and
the anti semitism and everything. So she's definitely a leader
in the party, There's no question about it. So my
quick question to you is is there a fracture that
worries you in the party right now? And more so,
who do you think should be the standard bearer? And
I'm gonna have a lise on by the way, maybe

(16:26):
next Saturday, but who is the standard bearer that you
want to see carrying that flag for the Republicans next year?
Going against Hochel who is so freaking weak and beatable
and a joke of a governor. And she, as I
said last week, is crapping in her pants right now,
because ma'am Dommi is basically telling her I want what

(16:50):
I ran on and that needs to be accomplished next year,
which means I'm gonna give away this stuff and I
need your support and I better have it. And if
I don't get it, you're gonna wish you didn't run
for governor because my troops are gonna stay home, or
somebody's gonna run against you. I guarantee you. That's happening quietly,

(17:10):
not necessarily between Mam Domi and Hokeel, but between their folks,
Like we're any fooling around here. We just had a
mandate in their heads. They got a mandate, but they don't.
But hey, we prove we can win. We got a
majority in New York City. You need us, you better
help us. And what did she say, Man, I'm not
in fame, I have anything Tanky cause we're all brandy,

(17:32):
my age TANX state in New York, I mean New
York is in America. And then what does she do
last week? She's looking at raising corporate taxes, the last
thing we need. We have the highest taxes in America,
and she's gonna do it again to satisfy her far
left for Razase one in hundred and three to two

(17:54):
one zero seven ten one in hundred and three to
two one zero seven ten. If you want to, if
you want to play along here and let me know
what you think. Both governor's race here going forward? Who
and uh? And nationally the Republicans too are are we
in a little food fight? And as that worry you?
All right, Age Williams paint, You got the music ready?

(18:15):

(20:28):

great because like I'm I was on Amtrak this week
coming back from Baltimore. I was, I'm going to DC
this week. I'm gonna, you know, so it's I have
the iHeart app. And I could just listen live to
Larry Menty in the morning or Mark Simone or Bucking
Clay or you know whomever, Sean Hannity. So get the

(20:54):
iHeart app on your phone if you haven't already, which
I can't believe you wouldn't deep material contract these guys.
I thought they only did roofwork, and they're very good
at it. They just did my house a nice pewter gray.
I got rid of the old black Uh. It was
like just so worn out, so they rip that up.

(21:17):
It's amazing how fast they that. They jump out of
the car, they're on the roof of your house. You
hear them walking on top of you. Boom boom boom,
bo boom, the whole roof is off and before you
know it, the new roof is on. They did such
a great job. So deep material contracting. I thought they
only did roofs, but they don't.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
They do.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
They do everything, siding, gutters, windows, they do patios, They
kind of do a lot. So the point is deep
material contracting. If you've got something you need done, I
would just give them a call at nine one four
four oh nine, seven oh six oh nine to one
four four oh nine, seven oh six oh or just
go online to roof Contractors new York dot com spell

(21:58):
out New York roof contract new York dot com for
Deep Materio Contracting, and of course you can get a
free estimate. Okay Oki joky, the phones are let up.
Let us go to them one one hundred and three
two one zero seven ten. We'll start with We'll start
with Sondra because I finally got to meet her on

(22:19):
Tuesday at the Women's National Republican Club. Sandra, thank you
so much for the invite. Thank you for she gave
me a beautiful necktie that I'm gonna wear on Newsmax
at on the next American Holiday. And uh, it was
really really nice to meet everybody at the club and
I had a good time and thank you for thank
you for the invite.

Speaker 4 (22:40):
Well, you're very welcome. First and foremost, I want to
thank you for coming and making my dreams come true.
It's what I accepted better than what I expected. And
I got many calls afterwards saying how great you are.
So that worked out so well. Thank you very much, Bob.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Thank you. By the way, there was a nice surprise.
I met doctor Arthur Perry. Doctor Arthur Perry was there
that night. He came and said hello to me, and
he was you know, he was looking at my face.
I got a little nervous. He was looking around like
the underneath my eyes, the bags, he was looking at
the crows feet.

Speaker 4 (23:18):
Ye, there's nothing wrong with your face. You're fine.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
And his show is on tonight at six o'clock. Right
every Saturday at six o'clock, Doctor Arthur Perry. What's your wrinkle?
I got plenty of that.

Speaker 4 (23:31):
I was pulling him away to meet with my husband,
who's a plastic surgeon, but he said, oh, no, I
have to speak to Rob after. So I said, oh,
that's right, most important, and I'm glad he did. But
I just wanted to say about at least aphonic, real
quick music to my ears when I hear her name.
I really do hope she becomes our next governor. And

(23:52):
I don't know if it's a good idea to have
her competing with Bruce, because look what happened with the
mayoral election. They you know, people with it off boy well,
kicking on each other. I would like to not see
that happen. I think that she's perfect, she's young, articulate,
lots of energy, and I'll always remember how she handled
the administrator from Columbia and Harvard, how she just shot

(24:15):
them down. She's tough, she's great, and I think we
should just stick with her and not confuse the the issue.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
But whatever, that's why I think Sondra, thanks for the call. Yeah,
that's not gonna be her decision. It's gonna be it's
gonna be Bruce's decision, you know, assuming assuming at least
gets the nomination, and I think she would, then that's
really Bruce's call. And look, I respect the primary process.
I was basically told no, you can, and I did.

(24:43):
And you know I didn't win in twenty two, but
it was certainly my right and there were a lot
of people who felt I should have run a primary,
and we gave it her all, and you know, again,
I think it by the way, I think it made
Lee Zelden a much better campaigner. He he, He really
got sharp and better as that primary went along and

(25:03):
then into the general election. I thought he was really
really good. And that's something that you know, that's the
good part of a primary. Obviously, some of the things
we said about each other wasn't always the best, but
you know what, we all rallied around whoever won. In
this case, it was Lee and we wanted and we
worked hard, we raised money, and we wanted him to win. Period.

(25:24):
Michael and Oyster Bay. So Michael, you're a long Islander.
What do you think?

Speaker 3 (25:29):
Yeah, I think Bruce Blakeman is the guy I love,
at least Devonic. He was in front of that those
Harvard and those big shots. I love the way she
just knocked him down. And she's a Harvard person herself.
But I think for New York State, first of all,
I think the Republican Party is pretty weak. I think
ed Cox needs to go. I think that Bruce Blakeman

(25:49):
can definitely attract to the other Independence for sure, and
you know, and I think he's gonna be better up
with women. I think overall in the state personally, I
think he should go for it.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
Thank you, Michael. Well, we're going to find out. I mean,
he's touring the state right now. I'm sure he's he's
getting polite thanks for coming. But I bet he's not
getting a lot of commitments or they're telling him. I'm
already supporting Elise, and I think I saw somewhere that
she has like seventy percent already of the county chairs.

(26:22):
So I mean that would obviously it's over with, but
we'll see. Let's go to Anita in Laguna Beach, California.
Is that right?

Speaker 5 (26:32):
That is right.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
I'm glad you're listening.

Speaker 6 (26:37):
I'm originally from Philly. I moved here about three years ago,
and I caught your show this morning for the first time.
Oh good, I never saw you. I sell your Newsmax
and I heard you were going to walk over to
the radio station, and somehow or another I found you
on Alexa and so I called in perfect because I

(27:00):
have I have an idea. Okay, I don't quite know
what to do with it. Oh, by the way, I
like Alis stephonics very much.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
Okay, good, there you go. What's your idea?

Speaker 6 (27:12):
I like the way she talked. Well, it's a kind
of a weird thing. I was a realtor, a prop
realtor for Rematch for thirty five years. I'm eighty one
and I don't do it anymore. I don't see very well.

Speaker 7 (27:26):
So my life is a.

Speaker 6 (27:27):
Bit challenging, but I do get ideas. And my idea
is how to bankrupt Ron and I think.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
It make it quick. We've got a lot of people.

Speaker 6 (27:39):
Want to I think it's out of the box. But
I think Trump would would relate to it, but I
don't know how to get to them. And the idea
is that the all the tunnels under Gaza and Palestine,
that is removal or affect of property, and you consume them.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
I will, you know what, I'm gonna be at the
White House on Wednesday. I'm not sure bring that one up,
but I will be there. And I think you should
just call the White House like everybody else, or just
send them an email because they do they actually do
read those. I do know that they read basically everything
that comes in Anita. Thanks for watching me on Newsmax,
and thank you for calling in. You can call in

(28:25):
any time. All right, Let's go to Steve in West Hempstead.
Hey Steve, Hey, Rob, how's it going. I'm good? How
are you?

Speaker 3 (28:34):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (28:35):
Pretty good? Okay. In reference to the gubernatorial race, I
think at least would be a better candidate. The key
is we got to draw vote from the five boroughs.
That's the problem. The Republicans have to do a much
much better job of messaging. There were several Democrats that
came out and said doing a shutdown that you know,

(28:56):
I'm paraphrasing, well, people are gonna suffer tough. Jolinda Jones
of the Texas State House was one of them, and
Catherine Clark, a member of the US Congress, said the
same thing. They should be making ads out of those.
We've got to do a better job on a messaging
because illegal aliens are getting Medicaid payments. Okay. A news

(29:19):
reporter did an article on it thirty thousand in New York.
So we got to do a better job on a messaging.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
Yep, Steve, thanks for the call. Oh, I guarantee you
they have these cuts ready to go. And that's what
drives me nuts is that the Republicans The fact that
the Republicans were blamed for the shutdown just shows you
the ignorance of too many Americans and how government works,
and the wickedness of the media because they do know better,

(29:47):
and yet they perpetuate that whole thing. And I think,
you know, I think Trump and the Republicans have to do.
I think they do have to do a better job
of explaining what has changed, why it's so good. There
was such an emphasis from the Trump administration on foreign policy.

(30:08):
He was all over the world, he saved you know, look,
he did amazing things. Obviously, what's going on in the
Middle East is life changing for so many people. And
protecting us, I mean it's a national security issue as well.
Tremendous job. And it's not even a question whether he
should get the Nobel Peace Prize, honestly. I mean, you

(30:28):
could hate somebody, but if Obama had done that, or
even Biden had done what Trump did, I would be
saying give him the Nobel two. And by the way,
so did Hillary. Hillary said that too. If he wins,
you know, if he gets this peace deal done, then
he should get the Nobel Peace Prize. He should, but
they've got people don't care about that right now, they

(30:48):
care that it's going to cost him a gazillion dollars
for Thanksgiving dinner, or that it's still very expensive or unaffordable.
And again that's why Mam Dommi won. Obviously he was
talking about affordability when Cuomo wasn't. And this whole housing issue.
You know the other thing, by the way, about the
housing issue and the cost of housing. Can you please

(31:11):
connect dot A and B. This open border affected everything everything.
It suppressed wages, It drove up the cost for housing
because they were being housed. Yeah, they were being housed
or they themselves were going out and renting an apartment
that's one off the market for an American. It had

(31:35):
a profound effect when you dumped fifteen million new people
in a couple of years, Your damn right is gonna
have an effect on everything? But uh no, it doesn't. Okay, Okay,
it's strengthful. Okay, Okay. Kathleen and Yonkers, you're on seven
to ten wor hi, Kathleen, hi rob.

Speaker 7 (31:57):
I agree with Sandra and the other fellow. I think
Mike was his name. Cox gotta go and uh a
Stephanic uh Cox has done nothing for us in generally speaking,
none of we've never win really any elections. He doesn't
have the he doesn't have the cloud. When when in Westchester,

(32:19):
I remember bringing up at one of the meetings, why
are all the why we don't have any bigger support,
and the people in the crowd said that's because they
were all Democrats. Well, it's our responsibility to teach them
why it's better to be Republicans.

Speaker 5 (32:32):
That's what I said then.

Speaker 7 (32:33):
And that's what the GOP does not do.

Speaker 5 (32:36):
They have no marketing.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
Kathleen, thanks, Yeah, well there's no question. Look, I've been
very frustrated with, you know, with some of the things
that our party does and doesn't do. And you know,
party building is the number one thing. We've got to
get out there and we've got to get people registered
to vote. We've got to go into areas where we
don't typically go and and create opportunities and money. Look,

(33:01):
money is a hard part. When you don't have power anywhere,
money doesn't go to you. Okay, Bruce Blakeman was the
county executive in NASA. He controlled everything, so of course
he could raise a gazillion dollars. The party had no
money in Westchester before I became county executive. When I won,
Obviously everyone wanted to donate. They may not have liked me,
but we got to be there and they donate money
to the party. And that's just the way it works.

(33:23):
But when you're out, you're out, and there's there's very
hard to raise money in New York State when we
control nothing. It's very hard to raise money in areas
and counties and cities where we don't control it. It's
a problem. But that's where the party needs to, you know,
really do the hard work. And you know, the one
thing about messaging is it's it's it's equalized now in

(33:48):
that social media is such an opportunity. Hire good people
or get good volunteers and get that message out. One
in one hundred and three two one zero seven ten
Cyrus on the rock in Staten Island. How are you, Cyrus?

Speaker 8 (34:04):
How you doing? Yeah? I'm with you when I am
kind of the confidence in the Republican Party because I've
tried to get together there and work with Curtis and all,
but that people wouldn't let me get to him. I
told them, you're not going to win anything if you
don't get the black and Hispanic vote. And we're not

(34:25):
going to get the governorship without it either. Yeah, We're
going to have to get the message out to people.
And like I said, Donald Trump has set the bar
as a great president and I'm hoping that when he's out,
we get another guy to at least meet what he's
done or do better. Just like Babe Ruth made a

(34:48):
record and then Hank Aaron came along and topped him.
That's what we need. We need people who are going
to be just as good or better. And we got
to get the Republican message out to everyone. Hey, you
know what if Elis want, if the least gets in
or uh, mister Blakeman, we got a great bench because

(35:10):
if what whichever one of them comes out of the primary,
we still win because they are both good.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
I agree they are both good. And let me ask
you one quick question. Have you ever gone to an
Oteco Maria restaurant?

Speaker 8 (35:25):
On stated?

Speaker 2 (35:26):
Okay? I asked because I watched Nonah's last Night on
HBO and it's about it's a true story about in
Otecho Maria. I don't know exactly where it is on
Staten Island, but it's a it's a it's a true
story about a guy who wanted to honor his mother
and his grandmother and a very Italian family, and so

(35:46):
he started a restaurant and it's still up. It's still
I want to get there one day because it's it's
a restaurant still operating. And I love the idea. He
hired grandmothers, Italian grandmothers to be the cooks, be the chefs,
and I think it's a great idea. It was actually
the movie was cute, but I think the acting. He
had Vince Vaughn, Lorraine Broco, Talia Shier, who else is

(36:11):
a Brenda Baccaro, and Susan Saranda. It was actually a
good cast, but they were over acting. They were over
acting like Italians, and I just it wasn't authentic to me,
you know, But I liked the concept. But and then
there was this one scene where there was a I
don't know if she's still a nun or a former nun,
but she was one of the grandmothers that came I guess,

(36:34):
And of course, because it's Hollywood, it couldn't have just
been a nun. It had to be a nun who
left because she was a lesbian. God almighty, what one
hundred and three two, one zero seven ten. Let's go
to Alan Yonkers.

Speaker 9 (36:51):
Hey, al, hey, Rob, can you hear me? Mm hmm yep,
Oh yeah, nice speaking to you. You know, I'm usually
a prime vote in primaries. I'm a Republican. My two
sisters in the city of Yonkers, my brother in law,
and we look favorably on Bruce Blakeman. We do have
some connection to Nassau County. My late uncles and them

(37:11):
all lived in the Nassau County on my mother's side,
and I know a little bit about the area. It's
very A lot of the towns are affluent. The areas
tend to be white, conservative, and they usually will be
prime voters in the primary. So my problem with Stephonic
is I still don't I don't think the Republicans are

(37:33):
getting the message about healthcare. Under the Obamacare, there's Medicaid
and there's people who have to go through the exchange
for private insurance, which could run you one thousand, thousand
and fifty. Now under President Trump's plan, it goes up
like eighty percent. And I think Jack Chilimelli, the guy

(37:55):
and the governor and who ran for governor in Jersey,
he was a casual for what's going on nationally, and
if they don't wake up soon, they are going to
lose the mid term at least House.

Speaker 2 (38:07):
I agree, and thanks for the coryle. Yeah, no, I agree.
I think there's some big warning signs going into next year,
despite the fact that the Democrats are all over the place.
They're bickering at each other and they've gone crazy. But
in the generic balloting, by the way, who would you
pick the Republican or the Democrat for Congress? Right now,
the Democrats have like a three to five point lead

(38:30):
that you know, so that's a danger zone. Let's go
to Shanna on Long Island. Where in Long Island are you? Shanna?

Speaker 4 (38:39):
Hi, good morning, good afternoon.

Speaker 2 (38:41):
Sorry, it's okay.

Speaker 4 (38:43):
Would you relate to President Trump to get to Ice
to come to New York City because there are still
migrants living in the Midtown hotels.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
I didn't know that. I mean they're trying to get
on it. Yeah, well, I mean there until they are
either deported or they have you know, their their so
called day in court. Unless they're criminally removed by ICE,
then they you know, Unfortunately, in the New York City law,
the consent decree, they must be housed. So there's gonna

(39:17):
be some of that still, even though you know a
lot of people one point two million have self deported.
That is amazing, That is incredible, along with another six
hundred thousand that have been deported. So I mean he's
making huge inroads, but a long way to go. Alexi
in Queen's however, you you're on seven to ten WR Yes.

Speaker 10 (39:38):
Good, good day, sir, thank you.

Speaker 5 (39:40):
Yah.

Speaker 10 (39:40):
Two points, very important points. First of all, the Republicans
are split. You have upstate and you have downstate. The
downstate Republicans are so weak it's fathetic. They are powerful
with Blakeman in Long Island. Yeah, but the taxes on
the the the various regulation no longer island. They are

(40:01):
killing the people there, but they pay for it.

Speaker 8 (40:03):
They're happy.

Speaker 10 (40:04):
And the Republican said, we need the republic inmate one
guy and he's running the other ten they like, they
don't because they know it's a loser. And what do
they do? What do they do? The guy gets ten
percent of the votes, leewall, and then they all turn
around two days three days before the election and step

(40:26):
him in the back because he did not give Cuomo
the votes. Yep, the point is distinguished Stephanic. Nobody really knows.
Let's see her record. Let's her put out a decent
commercial about a minute long, two minutes long.

Speaker 8 (40:42):
Let's put her record.

Speaker 2 (40:43):
She has, Alexi, she has and thank you for the call.
Look at least Stephanic is. I mean she is. She's
a pitbull. She's got more, she's got more you know,
whats than a lot of these guys in Congress. Trust me,
she she's going to go right at it. She is strong,
there's no question about that. All Right, I gotta step aside.
A couple more calls. We'll try to get to one

(41:05):
hundred three two one zero seven ten and Toyota City
in Mamaronick. This is it, man. If you're these holiday specials,
I'm sure coming up right. All these cars. You always
see these auto commercials as we get into the holidays,
like you know, buy your spouse a car, buy your

(41:26):
kid a car. Well, if you're gonna then go to
Toyota City. They're in Mamaronick. Very easy to get to.
But you don't need to. I mean, our friend in
Laguna Beach you called up before, she could just go online,
or you could go online in New Jersey or wherever
and just go to Toyota City dot com, Toyota cityeny

(42:10):
the good old folks at Toyota City. All right, A
couple more things to do when we get back here,
don't go away. One eight hundred three two one zero
seven ten rob Astorino with you until the top of
the hour, Hi, rob Astorno here on seven ten wo
r hey Lero's point to point. If your time is
valuable as it is where you know, you got to

(42:31):
get to the airport, or you want a night out
in the town. Maybe your daughter is getting married, you
want that beautiful Limo. Who are you gonna call? I
know you just thought goosbasts Nowlero's point to point, and
uh it's easy to do. One eight hundred eighty two
Liros one eight hundred eighty two liros or go on

(42:53):
liros TG dot com liros tg dot com. You know
what I did last night, Bruce. I was home by myself.
My wife went out with some friends. Actually my daughter
was home with me, and for some reason, my aunt Mildred,
who died many years ago, like twenty years ago, she

(43:13):
popped into my head, and the one thing I remember
about her and I used to go, not the one thing,
but I used to go to her house in Yonkers
and I used to stay there, like she would babysit
me sometimes, but she would make poundcake from scratch. And
I still remember, like walking into the house and just

(43:34):
the smell of pound cake. And I've loved pound cake
ever since last night. So I'm home and I'm like,
I feel like eating something good, Like, uh, there's nothing
in the house I want. No, I don't want leftover
candy from Halloween. I want cake or something good. Nothing there.

(43:56):
And I said, you know what, I'm gonna make a
pound cake. And I did from not a Betty Crocker
opened the box thing. I literally made it from scratch.
And the old poundcake used to be a pound of everything,
used to be a pound of sugar, a pound of butter,
a pound of flour. That's what pound cake was. Now
there's different versions. But I had a pound of butter,

(44:17):
four sticks of butter, and you gotta mix it. That's
the hard part, because it gets stuck. You gotta keep
pushing it out of there. But three cups of sugar
and then it just it's the smell that wafts through
the house, and then it looks so beautiful. And then
I put a little powdered sugar on it, and I
almost didn't want to eat it. I almost wanted to

(44:39):
send it to like a museum or something. It was beautiful.
But then my daughter and I just feasted on it.
Nothing like at ten thirty at night, eating like too
much poundcake. But I was very proud of myself. I really,
I was very proud of myself. All right. Bruce just
said to me a minute. That means I gotta wrap
things up. So I I am thankful that you listened

(45:01):
