Speaker 1 (00:00):
This hour of programming On seven ten, douboar. He's sponsored
by Toyota City and Mamaranac and Nissan. City of port Chester,
proud members of the Integrity Automotive Group. Now former Westchester
County executive Rob Astoio on seven ten.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Yeahmeral Liam, thanks for the leading man. I have papers
all over the desk, pure everywhere. I don't even know
where to start. I have so many things to talk
to I now have fifty four minutes to do so,
so let's get radio at it. Let's get right at it.
(00:44):
This is like great radio. It is great great radio.
Astor Reno one hundred and three to two to one
zero seven ten is that's the number always you could
if I were you, I just put that in your
phone wr slash astor Reno Show one hundred three two
one zero seven ten. And of course your opinions are
always welcomed. Here. Let's see we're okay. I I am
(01:09):
gonna I post it on my social media, my photo
with Pope Leo in Rome ten days ago, whatever it was,
So I definitely want to tell you about my time
with Pope Leo and what we talked about and my
impressions and just the whole day. I think it was
really fun. Anyway, I will get to that later, but
(01:30):
I mean, how do we not start with a few
things first of all, the whole Kirk Kimmel stuff. And
I want to get into this mayoral race because the
polls that are come out. I've, you know, having been
in politics and public life, obviously I had to deal
with a lot of public polling and private campaign polling,
and they differ sometimes, but I went through at least
(01:52):
the public polling numbers, and boy, this race is going
to be tough for anyone to beat, Mam Damie. And
I'll go through the numbers of why. But the effect
that it's going to have, this race already is having
and what will happen if Mamdami wins will definitely help Republicans,
no question about it, next year, and quite frankly, could
(02:13):
help Republicans this year. So let me start with the
big picture first, and then I'll get into your calls
and we'll talk about some other things. Ma'm DOMI at
this point, as long as something earth shattering doesn't happen,
he's going to coast to win. He's going to coast
to this big victory no question about it. I mean,
(02:34):
nothing has changed, Okay, nothing has changed in the last
couple of months since he won the primary. It's been steady.
He's been just plodding along. He can play the safe
game now, just do the social media stuff, throw up
positives on TV and radio, and that's it. He looks
behind him and he sees eight to one Democrats in
(02:54):
New York City and he's getting Democratic Party support now.
And remember I told you this many many months. I
told you before he won the primary, as he was
starting to gallop towards towards Cuomo and getting closer and closer,
and I said, he's gonna overtake Cuomo and he's gonna
win this because the momentum is with him, and he
(03:17):
is harnessing an energy out there and an anger out there.
And he's done it, and he did it, and he
continues to do that.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
You know.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Got he can tap into a lot of things right
now in New York City, and one of them is
Donald Trump. He can just tap into the anger that
Democrats have with their tds against Donald Trump. That's the
easiest thing for him to do. And then, of course
he could just go off on the high cost of living,
no housing, all that kind of stuff. Cuomo hasn't done
(03:53):
anything to shake up this race. So I'll give you
a little inside information, all right. I spoke to a
whole bunch of people this week in the know involved
in the New York City mayoral race. And how also,
I'll tell you how it's going to affect places like
Nassau County where Bruce Blakeman is running for reelection, and
(04:15):
how it will affect that race. So Mamdami right now
is in a commanding lead period. He's got like a
twenty point lead. But the problem is Cuomo hasn't done
anything to shake it up. When you got three people
going after each other because they're trying to go after Mamdami,
but nobody is pulling this guy down. Mamdami is still
(04:37):
a positive in voters' minds. He's still more favorable than unfavorable.
Given everything we know about this guy, and Andrew Cuomo
with twenty five million dollars that they put into the
primary race for this guy, the outside super packs they
didn't touch. Ma'm DOMI. They better rip this guy face off.
(05:00):
They have got to make him so unacceptable. They've got
to make every voter, including a decent percentage of Democrats
will who will turn away from their party's nominee and
not vote for this guy. But they haven't done that.
I just found out. Do you know what. They're putting
way too much money into an Andrew Cuomo superback. Do
(05:21):
you know what they're coming out on the ad experience?
Andrew Cuomo has the experience to be mayor who gives
the rats ass. That's not what people are thinking about.
And the experience that comes to mind of Andrew Cuomo
being governor ain't what they want as a mayor period
(05:43):
because he didn't leave him with a good experience all
the crime and all this stuff. And then when you
get to the question of on crime, well, who do
you think will be the toughest on crime and to
make New York City safer. I'm gonna give you one guess,
and you're gonna be wrong. You would think courtisly was
since he spent his whole life talking about crime, fighting crime. No,
(06:06):
not even close by the way, and it's certainly it
ain't Andrew Cuomo, who gave us no cash bail among
many other things. And an Eric Adams the current mayor,
So that leaves ma'am DOMI, when you've got a majority
of people polled in this survey that says ma'am Dami
(06:29):
the guy that wants to defund the police, that wants
to replace police with social workers, when he is the
candidate that New York City voters by a majority think
will be the best on crime, then it's game over.
I mean, you can't talk sense into these people. You're
(06:51):
better off bang your head against that wall. That's who
you're dealing with. If they think one of the top
issues is crime and ma'ammy's the guy that's gonna fix it,
how do you how do you even have a rational
conversation with these buffoons who unfortunately are registered to vote
and will vote, and ma'am Dommy's their guy. So let
(07:14):
me just go into the numbers a little bit for
you to see how tough it's going to be. So
in the which one was this? This is the New
York Times, Siena, Ma'm Dommy's getting forty six percent, Cuomo
twenty four, Sliwa fifteen, and Eric Adams at nine. Ma'am
Dommy's getting almost fifty percent of the women vote. Can
(07:36):
you seriously and those with a bachelor's degree or higher,
in other words, the over educated. He's getting sixty percent
of the New York City vote. So when you're walking
around and you see these you know who they are.
They they walk with their nose up. They think they're
(07:57):
better than you because they're smart, were books smart or
went to columb the UH or NYU. And unfortunately I
have to throw fourd them in that and so many
other you know, the schools and all their big degrees
that they got that for some reason, they can't get
a job with those degrees. But they're so smart. And
(08:20):
that's a Mam Domi voter. So in that poll, his
favorable ma'm Dommi is fifty two percent. His unfavorable is
thirty nine fifty two percent favorable. With everything we know
about this guy and the Cuomos of the world who
he's running the worst campaign I've ever seen. But it's
(08:42):
getting late quick. And if they don't start ripping this
guy's face off politically and sounding the five alarms and
go completely and utterly negative on him, they have no
shot because ma'am Domi has he's maxed out. He's got
eight million bucks. That's all he can take in this
stupid system. In New York City. Plus he has an
(09:04):
independent expenditure that's going to put money in the Soros folks.
I told you, I confirmed. I got a call several
weeks ago that Mamdami was in Westchester at a restaurant
with George Soros's son. So they're going to play in
this game because they want this guy. He'll bring the
most instability to New York City. So he's still a
(09:26):
favorable of fifty two percent. Where's Eric Adams. I've never
seen I've never seen numbers like this. He is a
minus forty twenty nine favorable, sixty nine have an unfavorable
opinion of the current mayor, Andrew Cuomo. Here's the problem.
He's a minus twenty three because people remember and not fondly,
(09:49):
what he was like and what New York was like,
and what New York City was like when he was governor.
A thirty six favorable, a fifty nine unfavorable, you cannot beat.
And since he's in that can place, all the eggs
are going on him. You cannot beat somebody with nobody.
You cannot beat somebody who has a favorable rating that's
(10:09):
a positive plus eleven in Mamdami with a guy that
people can't stand. You cannot win that way, period. You
cannot win this way. I told somebody the other day
who was a donor, and they got pissed at me
and they said, well, what do you want us to do?
I said, will you better do something different because what
you're doing ain't working and putting all your bags in
(10:30):
Cuomo unless you go again hard negative against mam Domi
and get people to hold their nose, which is what
they would have to do to vote for Cuomo. The
track that we're on ain't happening. New pole came out
again this week. This was uh which one was this one?
This was Maris. I think these college polls, by the way,
(10:53):
are terrible, but they are with they are the numbers
basically say the same. Mamdami has forty five percent of
the v Cuomo at twenty four, Sliwa at seventeen, and
Adams at nine. So and it's only five percent undecided.
And here's the problem for Curtis Sliwa, who of course
(11:14):
I would love to see when but he's only getting
fifty four percent from Republicans and the black vote. It's
not going to Eric Adams or even Cuomo. It's going
to Mamdami, and even in a hypothetical two way, which
ain't happening, we can stop that talk. Please stop it.
It ain't happening. It can't happen legally or otherwise. Everyone's
(11:36):
on the ballot. Even a hypothetical two way between Mamdamie
and Cuomo, forty nine percent goes to Mam Domi, thirty
nine goes to Cuomo. He can't even win a in
a head to head, which is his whole argument. But again,
the problem is Mamdami is still liked. He's liked by
a majority of voters, so good luck, good luck trying
(12:00):
to beat him. And as I said, who's the best
on crime? A majority says, Ma'm dommy would be. It
makes it almost impossible when you're dealing with imbecils who
have the right to vote, and we're dealing with imbeciles
in New York City who have the right to vote. Now,
New York City's gonna light itself on fire. Okay. Fortunately,
(12:21):
there's a border, and to the east is Queen's right.
I mean to the east of Queens is Nasau. And
there's a race going on right now in Nassau County.
Bruce Blakeman, who's going for reelection, has done a fantastic job.
He's cut taxes, He's spoken out on huge issues. He
was one of the first nationally, I think he was
(12:43):
the first nationally to come out of the gate about
women in men's sports, I'm sorry, men in women's sports,
and the whole transgender issue and the bathroom issue. And
he has been very vocal and quite frankly, he's just
done a damn good job and deserves to be re elected.
But I know for a fact I've seen some of
(13:05):
the numbers. Mam Domi is so disliked. He scares the
hell out of suburban voters, including in Nasau. So great
opportunity for the folks like Bruce Blakeman who's running for
reelection in Nasau, Christine Sculti who's running in Westchester, Ed
(13:29):
Day who's running in Rockland. You're running not only against
your own opponent, you're running against Mamdami. And it's a
legitimate concern because the mayor of New York City, whoever
that is, his policies directly affect the neighboring suburbs period.
And I've seen the numbers with Jewish voters in Nassau County,
(13:52):
by the way, if you didn't know, this has one
of the largest Jewish populations in the world. Think of
the Five Towns, think of Great Neck. Just Nasal County
has a lot of Jewish voters. The acidic Jews, you know,
the Orthodox, they're Republican, the reformed Jews. These are the
(14:19):
ones that are like liberal, they're you know, slightly coming
to the right, because even mam Domi scares them, the
whole anti Semitism stuff. And so I mean, if they
come in any kind of numbers, Blakeman wins in a route.
But this is the case everywhere. So that's the only
(14:40):
good news of a Mamdami is this year and next
year in the certainly in the congressionals Republicans are going
to have a great guy to run against. And the
governor of New York How stupid is she? And here's
why she did this. She is so concerned about her
left that she is forgetting that the bulk of the
(15:03):
votes in New York State still come from outside New
York City. The suburbs and upstate are more than just
New York City. And she is disliked. I can tell you.
Her numbers are really bad in Nassau, and Donald Trump's
numbers in Nasau are pretty damn good. So here you
(15:24):
got Governor Hokeel casting her lot with ma'am Domi, and
I think she's gonna really regret it because next year,
when ma'm Doamy goes off the deep end and all
of his Marxism and Communism comes flowing right out of
his mouth and on paper for legislation with that crazy
(15:45):
New York City Council and they actually put the Marxism
into action, she owns it. And there's a reason. And
it's smart that Chuck Schumer has not come out in
favor of ma'm Domi yet. Do I think ultimately he will,
probably because I think in his mind he's so worried
(16:05):
about AOC that he thinks and this is stupid of him.
By the way, if I were him, I would do
with Jay Jacobs, the state Democratic Party chair did the
other day. Smart. J Jacobs, the sitting Democratic state Party
chair in New York, will not endorse Mam Domi. That
(16:26):
is smart because he knows the suburbs are in deep
trouble for Democrats if Mamdami wins, or if they latch
onto this guy and they are. I could see the
New York City lunatics, the you know, congressional delegation. Others, fine,
all right, you want to play in your stupid little playpen. Fine,
but others h M. And if if he were smart Schumer,
(16:48):
he would not endorse Mam Domi and run on that
next year when the pendulum swings, I think in both
the Democratic Party and certainly around all over New York State.
But I don't know. I don't know if he has
those smarts anymore. We'll see, we'll see. Uh. I do
want to do a little Charlie Kirk for a second.
(17:10):
Here one eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
One eight hundred three two one zero seven ten. Here's
the If there's any good that has come out of
this horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk, the one good that
I think is evident now is what has bubbled up
(17:31):
to the surface. So the left and the antifas people
on social media, people you wouldn't expect, but just kind
of pick a team. And you've seen now who people
(17:52):
are picking. And to me, it's very easy. It is
good and evil. There's no butt at the end of
the sentence. You either condemn what happened without a butt,
or your butt means it's a qualifier, and you don't
really agree that it was a bad thing that Charlie
Kirk got silenced with a bullet in his neck, and
(18:14):
that you know, the Republicans aren't evil all that stuff.
So it's actually good to see where people stand because
we are in a fight in this country figuratively right now.
It might be literal at some point, but we are
in a fight in this country, not just for the soul,
(18:35):
but for the country. There's no question. You have one
side who called us deplorables, right yeah, they said it
out loud. One side who hates what this country stands for,
the parchment that that Constitution is written on, they would
love to rip it up. And they're showing their cards.
(18:59):
And the Charlie Kirk assassination kind of flushed them out too,
as did the George Floyd era that we went through.
All of that is coming to a head now. And
I love the fact that Trump has deemed Antifa a
terrorist domestic terrorist organization because A they are, but B
(19:19):
what can happen now is they can do legitimate investigations
into who is funding them. That's the important thing. Who
is funding all of this, funding really not only the chaos,
but the anarchy and the terrorism that is within this country.
(19:41):
I don't know if you heard, but there was a
story last night that came out that said there's an
national intelligence has unfortunately confirmed that there are already terror
sales of al Qaeda in this country in urban areas.
And of course they came in over the last four
(20:03):
years with Biden, with the open borders, that was an
easy thing for them to do unchallenged. That, by the way,
is what open borders do. For those of you who
can't connect a to b Oh, it's just little it's
just little grandma. It's just little baby with the backpack. Yeah, okay,
they're the mustache, They're the beard. That's exactly. They were
(20:24):
the cover for what really the trojan horse brought in.
But al Qaeda, according to this national intelligence report, apparently
is already here. They're already plotting, and they have they
have evidence apparently of them buying in bulk law enforcement
uniforms with the intent of wherever they light their bombs
(20:46):
or ignite the chaos and start the shooting, wherever that
terrorist act is going to be they will also be
perpetrating as law law enforcement officers, creating even more chaos,
and they're going to in control, infiltrate the hospitals, so
when the emergency rooms are filling up with the injured,
(21:10):
they're then going to attack the hospital as well. This
is what the intelligence report has said. It's scary stuff.
The fact that they're here. I don't think anyone would
question that, but knowing what they would likely do at
a big event, scary stuff. And yeah, the Left is
responsible for that, no question about it. All Right, I
(21:35):
gotta take a little breather here one one hundred and three
two one zero seven ten one eight hundred three two

(23:02):
One eight hundred and three to one zero seven ten.
And by the way, I didn't even get to Kimmel.
I will talk about him when I come back. One
eight hundred three to one zero seven ten The rob
Astarino Show right here on seven ten WR.
Speaker 4 (23:14):
I just want to hear the.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
Music, Bruce.
Speaker 5 (23:18):
No.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
I was actually looking for first one of my papers here.
I can't find it, but I do want to tell
you tomorrow right here on seven ten WOR. And I
think this is a smart decision. This is really good.
We will cover and have live the Charlie Kirk Memorial
in Arizona. It'll be two o'clock tomorrow right here on
(23:39):
seven ten WR. Of course, you can listen to it
on the iHeart app online right here on the radio.
President Trump will be speaking, Vice President Vance will be speaking,
and Erica Kirk, among many others, will be speaking. One
of the great things about this again, you know I
mentioned sometimes you do have to search for and find
(24:00):
the good in something so terrible. And another good thing
that's coming out of this is they have over fifty
thousand applications now or inquiries for applications from students in
colleges or high schools around the country to start a
(24:21):
Turning Point USA chapter in their school. How great is that.
Somebody called me the other day and asked me and said,
you know, my son said he sent Turning Point US
an inquiry about an application and had mentioned it to
his principle I won't say the school yet, and the
(24:44):
principal or an advisor one of them, and they said
to well, that probably wouldn't allow that here, or wouldn't
do that. Meanwhile, this school, of course has an lgbt
Q and Pride Events and all these other leftist organizations.
They're completely allowed, but a Turning Point USA chapter would
(25:04):
not be permitted. I told them, I said, if you
put that, please, please, first of all, make sure you
do it the right way. Have Turning Point USA help
you with applying, because if that school says no, it's
a Westchester school. If they say no, I will be
the first to make sure it is on seven to
ten WR and Newsmax, and we will make sure this
(25:27):
is national because I will never allow them to shut
you up. So we'll see. Uh oh, Toyota City, Oh my, my,
my my, you want a car specifically at Toyota Well,
Toyota City in Mamarnick, right in Westchester County. That's the
only place you should go. In fact, if you're online
(25:49):
right now, well, first of all, if you're driving, stop it.
But if you're you know, somewhere in the house when
the show is over, write down Toyota CITYNY dot com,
Toya Yota cityany dot com and then go online and
look at all the vehicles. If you were somebody you
know is shopping for a car or an suv like truck,
(26:10):
whether it's pre owned or if it's brand new. Interest
rates are coming down a bit. That's good. That that
makes it a little easier. So get rid of the clunker.
Actually bring the clunker in and they'll trade it in.
You'll get something and get yourself a new Toyota at
Toyota City. Huge inventory, all models, great lease rates. I
(26:30):
say that slowly, purposely, on transparent pricing, no hidden fees.
You're gonna get the respect that you deserve if you
head over to Toyota City in Mamarnick I that would
be me, Robert Astorino. I am a proud member of
the Integrity Automotive Group because I got my vehicle from
(26:52):
from them. They've got all these different dealerships. I have
an Infinity I got it through them in Queens, but
of course Toyota City. They've got Nissan in Westchester as well.
So be part of their family. Go to Toyota CITYENY
dot com, Toyota CITYENY dot com. I will get to
your calls in a second. One eight hundred and three
(27:13):
two one zero seven ten. I was listening to Larry
before on his promo for next week. His voice was
so raspy. The poor guy. I was on as I
am every Friday at seven o eight in the morning
with Larry and I mean he could hardly talk yesterday.
But then I so Warnerwolf, who I grew up listening
(27:36):
to Warnerwolf. I love watching Warner Wolf. Warnerwolf was on
with him every Monday, and he recaps the kind of
the sports week. I could just you know, if like
last week.
Speaker 6 (27:46):
If you had the Jets of nineteen and a half points,
you lost, anyway, make sure you listen to Larry and
the whole team Monday morning. We're talking about you know,
Charlie Kirk and all this. You see what And Larry
mentioned this because he's going to talk about the governor's
race on Monday. And I'm gonna have Jack Chittarelli on
(28:08):
soon as well. I know we had him on a
couple of months ago, but I want to get an
update on the race. But his opponent, Mikey Cheryl, she
is just I mean, this is this is, this is
what campaigns are about. Because she's on TV pretending to
be you.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
Know, I'm a soldier, I was a soldier, and you
know what, thank you for doing that, honestly, But she
cloaks herself, like a lot of these leftists, as being
normal and she ain't. She is far far left whoa
way out of step with with most New Jerseyans, and
I hope you realize that, but I guess to her credit,
(28:49):
she voted for the resolution for Charlie Kirk yesterday when
over one hundred Democrats refused to. You had some, I
think like about sixty that voted no on memorializing a
man who was shot to death in front of America,
who had a family, and who stood for free speech.
(29:10):
But a hundred of them found a way to weasel out,
including unfortunately George Latimer in Westchester, who tries to be bipartisan,
but he didn't even show up for the vote. She
has to be exposed for the left as she is.
And Jack Chitarelli is running a good campaign. He's in
(29:32):
a real spot to win this and I'm gonna have
him on, you know, in a couple of weeks. Uh, Okay,
the Jimmy Kimmel thing. So you know, I love and
I grew up as probably you did, watching Johnny Carson.
He was He was the gold standard period in what
late night TV should be because he was a political
(29:55):
he wasn't he When he did get political, it was funny,
and whoever was in power was who he would go after.
In a comedic way. The ones who were on now
Jimmy Kimmel would if he were a Republican, he would
have been off television a long time ago. Have you
(30:16):
seen some of these old videos of him when he
was doing The Man Show on Comedy Central where Jimmy
Kimmel in the past dressed in blackface. How many Republicans
survived that? And I saw a video of him the
other day in the misogynistic me Too era. He's totally fine,
(30:37):
and they're out there, you know, celebrating him. Do you
know what he did? He used to go up to
women and say, hey, will you sleep with me? On camera, like, hey,
let's just have sex because I want to have sex
with you. And there were videos of him women were
looking another way and he would go up behind them
(30:57):
like pretending to, you know, do something to them sexual,
and he would sniff their butts on team. Seriously, this
is the guy who they exalt. This is the guy who, again,
if he were a Republican, would never have survived any
of that. But Johnny Carson was the gold standard. And
(31:18):
I found this video. You may have seen it, but
Johnny Carson was talking about why late night comedians should
be just that a late night comedian and not get
into all of these issues and try to become powerful.
Jimmy Kimmel, he reaches a million and a half people
(31:39):
a night. That's it. He's getting paid apparently fifteen or
sixteen million dollars I just heard before ABC is now
negotiating to have him come back. Okay, you know what,
that's You're right, fine, but are you making money off
this guy? He's lost forty percent of his audience since
the Donald Trump era, since Trump went down those escalator stairs,
(32:03):
and Kimmel went off the deep end just like the
rest of them. He became not funny. He never was,
I don't think, but he became horrible and that's why
he lost his audience. But this is what Johnny Carson
in his own this is what Johnny Carson said a
long time ago, and they if they had any outs
(32:24):
of integrity, and if they had just a drop of
being wise, they would listen to Johnny Carson.
Speaker 7 (32:31):
Tessative about the fact that people say he'll never take
a serious controversy, Well, I have an answer to that.
I said, no, tell me the last time that Jack
Benny red Skeleton, Uh Benny comedian used his show to
do serious issues. That's not what I'm there for.
Speaker 8 (32:50):
Can't they see that?
Speaker 1 (32:51):
But you and I do.
Speaker 7 (32:52):
They think that just because you have it tonight's show,
that you must deal in serious issues. That's a danger,
real danger. Once you start that, do you start to
get that self important feeling. That's what you say has
great import And you know, strangely enough, you could use
that show as a form. You could sway people, and
I don't think you should as an entertainer.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
If only they'd listen to him. That's why I still
watch him. He's on Antenna TV at night. The shows
still hold up. They're still as funny today as they
were back then. One in one hundred three two one zero
seven ten, we'll check in with you. Start with Mike
and Forest Hills. I Mike.
Speaker 4 (33:31):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (33:32):
With regard to Mom Donnie, Mom Donnie's woke ideology in
terms of law enforcement and police reform, he epitomizes democratic
lapses with regard to dealing with crime in big cities
in so far as that the police are number one
reluctant to enforce the law against violent criminals due to
(33:53):
the George Floyd effect that you so experienced five years
ago in the way of the George Floyd riot. But
also it extends into hiring and training insofar as that,
you know, the insistence on DEI and affirmative action. But
New York City is one of the cities and has
a majority minority police department. In other words, most of
the cops come from the very same groups that commit
(34:16):
most of the crime in New York blacks and his banks,
from the inner cities. And again they don't want to
deal with race as an issue in criminal activity. That
there's a disproportionate amount of crime emanating from two sets,
two demographic sets in the city that nobody wants to
deal with. They commit most of the crime in New
York City, Blacks of thirteen percent of the country's population,
(34:38):
they commit half the murders every year. And again it's
disproportionately coming from a certain segment of the population.
Speaker 8 (34:44):
Nobody talks about it.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
Yeah, now the Democrats don't want to deal with it
as an issue.
Speaker 2 (34:49):
Well, they certainly don't want to deal with that as
an issue. But you also part of that is when
then they're recruited and they come from theseghborhoods. And but
by the way, I just want somebody qualified. If you're
going to put on a uniform, have a badge, have
a gun, and be able to take away somebody's liberty,
you damn well better be qualified. Period. But when you
(35:14):
make an artificial attempt to get people and lower standards
for whatever reason why it could be white, I don't
care who it is. When you lower standards to get
a specific mix that you want doesn't end up good,
especially if you're highly recruiting people who are coming from
areas that they do sympathize with people in their neighborhoods
(35:37):
who maybe not had a good, you know, uh situation
with the police. Let's go to Steve in Jersey. Hey, Steve, Hey, Hey, Rob, Rob,
there is not the main reason for my call.
Speaker 8 (35:53):
Mikey Cheryl is being dishonest in her ad saying Jack
Chirell he wants a ten percent sales tech. What she
obmitting is yeah, he wants that and get rid of
all other taxes. Let's get that straight. She's being dishonest
and she's a radical leftist. Main point, though, Rob, this
whole thing with Charlie Kirk is being twisted turn to
(36:14):
misconstrued or narrowly construed and just being about a First
Amendment issue. Of course, our American communists on the left,
they're using the Jimmy Kimmel thing right to try to
say they're denying his First Amendment right. A business, a
private sector business can fire an employee if it chooses
that is damaging their brand and is losing money. It's
(36:35):
not a First Amendment. That is not a first issue.
But Rob, even as common sense conservatives right, our buddies
in the media are narrowly construing it as saying, well,
Charlie's assassination was just about just about a First Amendment issue.
It's about far more than that. Rob. It's about his standard,
the US Constitution. It's assault on the US Constitution, all right,
(36:58):
his free eat him and the American way of life.
And we need to get that straight. And I don't
want to hear any politics tomorrow at his service, but
it wouldn't be bad for so one of the speakers
to say, all right that that's what he stood for.
That is freedom, liberty, the American Constitution, and the American
way of life. And then hopefully some commentary will pick
(37:19):
up on it after and say, and that's why he
was killed. What do you think rob.
Speaker 2 (37:23):
Hi's Steve thank you? Well, yeah, that's exactly why he
was killed. I was watching the BBC the other day
just because I wanted to see the reaction when Donald
Trump was over there and they started talking about Charlie
Kirk and the assassination like they were here, and these
snooty Brits on TV were saying, you know, Charlie Kirk
(37:45):
was a divisive figure all that. Oh really really was
a divisive figure. No, he wasn't. He was divisive in
your mind because you don't agree with him. Period. Hello
Sandra in New Jersey, cheer me up? How are you?
Speaker 9 (38:04):
I don't know if I'm gonna cheer you up, but
I'm okay. I wanted to comment on a couple of
things like Hopel for instance, I think that she endorsed
Man Donnie because she was desperate to votes, so she
sold her soul and did that, and in the end
he's not even gonna pay her that go the way
she would have liked. That's the first thing that I
(38:25):
wonder about. Then I said to myself, Kick Morris on
Sunday said, and this is contrary to what you're saying.
You're saying maybe in the end of all this, if
he wins, the Republicans are gonna end up doing well
down the line. But Dick Marris said something a little different.
He said, if Mandanni does okay and you know, follow
(38:47):
the rules to some degree and does everything quote okay,
he's gonna get a greater, greater grade of following, almost
like I hate to use the words, it was following,
you know. So that's a concern. And then I wanted
to say, when I look at Cuomo on TV, and
I look at Curtis Leela on TV, Cuomo looks washed
(39:08):
out and not alive. Curtis Sleila, He's as animated and
as great to me as man Dominie's coming across. So
I don't want to give up on Curtin Sleewa. I still,
I still he's doing better. But so those those are
the thoughts that I had.
Speaker 2 (39:24):
Rob always appreciative. Yep, thank you so much for the call, Sandra, Uh,
Dino and queens. You're on seven to ten w O R.
Speaker 8 (39:35):
Hello, How are you doing, buddy good? Uh?
Speaker 4 (39:38):
I just yeah, so, man, my thoughts change as I
wait for the phone call. I just constantly fine. Yeah,
I don't know what to talk about it. That's so
many things on my mind.
Speaker 2 (39:47):
All ye yeah, well depending on what you're making, but
pick one.
Speaker 4 (39:52):
My wife's a good cook, so honestly, let me see.
So the other day I was watching and can't Spttel
was getting ridiculed by Adam Shift. You remember that one
yep up on the hill yep, And he just took
it and kept on taking it until he came out
and he laid it on the line all over afoon.
(40:16):
The Democrats are crying because their pockets got shortened. That's
what it's all about. The way they funneled their money.
They were happy they were making money. The money short
now and the problems are all there for them. I
know that may not make sense, but to me that's
what it seems. They were doing just fine, the way
they were funneling their money.
Speaker 2 (40:35):
Yeah well, Dino, thank you for the calling. No. I mean, look,
as I said earlier, with Antifa being designated a domestic
terrorists organization, now the FBI can actually go after the
real criminals instead of pulling people off the FBI desks
from I don't know, investigating Catholics going to church, or
(40:58):
parents going to or board meetings, and and of course
all of those white supremacists running rampant around the streets.
I must have seen a hundred of them on my
way over here. Just amazing. Now they can actually go
after the real, real thugs and the real violent criminals
(41:20):
in this country, the antifas of the world. Period. I've
been saying period a lot to like, just just emphatic.
Michael in Clipside Park, New Jersey, Hello, Michael.
Speaker 5 (41:34):
Yeah, Hello, yep, Yeah. I agree that they shouldn't defied him.
And I was talking to my good friend, what's the
name or Joann Barr? You know, I said, Johan Barr.
They fired him for making political statements, and she looked
at me like I was crazy. I said, do you
think they shouldn't defired him? Gee? I wonder why she
(41:56):
looked at me like I was crazy. Does it have
anything to do with the fact that they fired her
because she said I support Trump because she'll make America
great again? Does anybody remember that when a Democrat opens
up their mouth and says they should bring him back?
My answer is when are they bringing back mis Barr?
You remember her on that comedy show. She played the
(42:18):
wife of this guy and it was a fantastic show.
Got very high ratings, much higher than Jimmy.
Speaker 2 (42:25):
Here's the thing, but Roseanne bar made she made racist remarks,
she regretted them, and they yanked her, and they had
every right to do that, just like ABC has the
right now to yank Jimmy Kimmel. This is not a
person amendment. This is a standards and morals clause in
your contract. This is a private organization being able to
(42:46):
do what they feel is right.
Speaker 5 (42:49):
A G.
Speaker 2 (42:50):

Rob Astarino Show on seven ten woor. Make sure you
friend me, follow me on Facebook, on x Instagram, truth,
Social Getter, TikTok, all those goodies, and make sure, of
course you download the iHeart app. Listen to us anywhere
or right online seven ten wr dot com, unless of
(44:33):
course you're listening to us the old fashioned way on
radio two pm tomorrow. Don't forget right here on seven
ten woor. We've got the Charlie Kirk memorial. We'll have
it live, so if you're out and about, you don't
want to miss that. It's going to be very emotional,
but a very a great way to have aus send
off for Charlie Kirk. So I was in Rome and
(44:58):
of course covering the canonization. That's where I did the
show from a couple weeks ago. And so I was
lucky enough, Thank you to Cardinal Dolan who arranged this.
But I was lucky enough to meet with Pope Leo.
So they have something called the General Audience, which is
Wednesdays in Saint Peter Square, where the Pope goes around
(45:19):
in the popemobile and then he it's not a mass,
but he says words and there's prayers and everything. It's
about an hour and so when it's over, if you
have a special ticket, you get what's called a batchamano
literally translated from Italian has kissed the hand, okay, And
(45:41):
it's really it's an opportunity to go afterwards and spend
a minute or so with the Pope and just get
a picture and it's really nice. So I posted the
picture one of them with me and Pope Leo on
my social media, so if you want to check it out,
it's on Instagram or Facebook. So I'm thinking, like literally
(46:02):
all week, I'm like, what am I going to say?
First of all, my whole decision was do I kiss
the ring or not? I decided not to, and for
a couple of reasons, but you know, I'm like no,
and he's an American, so I didn't And a handshake
is totally acceptable. So when it was my turn to
(46:24):
go up there, I kind of like winging it. But
one thing I wanted to say to him was that
his brother, Louis Lewis Prevost from Chicago, comes on Newsmax
with us. And Louis actually was watching Newsmax during the
conclave and learned that his brother was the Pope watching Newsmax,
(46:45):
so it was pretty cool. So anyway, when I went
up to the Pope, I said to him, I'm rob
Astarino from New York and I you know, it's honored
to meet you, which it was, and so I said
to him, I'm also on Newsmax, and your brother Louis
is on with us frequently, and so far he's behaved.
(47:07):
I said that, and the Pope starts giggling and goes
so far. So he and his brother are very He's
got two other brothers. They are very close. But Lewis
is an avid Newsmax watcher. He's a conservative, and he
talks to his brother all to day. So there's that connection,
you know, obviously that he has still with the US.
(47:30):
And you know, I'd asked him to pray for some folks,
which he gets that like a zillion times. But the
one mistake I made because Eduardo vest Verastighi, who is
a Mexican actor and musician, a friend of mine, we
were there together. He went first and I see him
ahead of us. He was taking a literally a selfie
with the Pope, and like people before us brought up
(47:51):
books that he signed him, I didn't bring up anything,
but anyway, so when I saw Eduardo get a selfie,
I said to the Pope as we were done, and
I said, do you mind if we take a selfie?
And he literally said no, we can't because you're a
journalist and it's against the rules. And I'm thinking to myself,
(48:13):
I'm really not a journalist. I'm total opinion. I'm not
a journalist and you can break the rules you're the pope.
But he didn't do it. But I have a nice
picture with him, I know, and it was a great moment.
More stories about that next week, and a lot of
things from Italy, plus your calls. Stay in touch with
me via social media. I'll talk to you next Saturday
(48:34):
at four o'clock. Right here on seven to ten. Wo
