Speaker 1 (00:00):
This hour of programming on seven ten Doubor. He's sponsored
by Toyota City and Mamaranac and Nissan City of port Chester,
proud members of the Integrity Automotive Group. Now former Westchester
County executive Rob Astorna on seven ten.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Woor Rob Astorino show here on seven ten woar the
best hour of your whole weekend, probably your whole week
it should be. So I'm here till five one in
hundred and three to two one zero seven ten one
eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Man.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
A lot of things is Oh God, yesterday afternoon, like
three point thirty. Actually a little bit earlier than that,
I was getting a few texts from people who were saying,
I'm hearing a Lease is dropping out the governor's race.
Is this true? And I had speculated, Honestly, I had

(01:07):
speculated a couple of weeks ago. I said, you know,
this is not I think she may not do this
because I'm looking at what Trump was doing, and what
he was doing was still saying good things about both
of them, which is understandable. He's friends with Bruce Blakeman,

(01:27):
He's friends with Lee Stephonic but they kind of thought
that by wrapping up now I'm talking about Stephanic, by
wrapping up basically the nomination with regard to over seventy
five percent of the Republican shares throughout the state already
endorsing her, that this was going to be a clear shot,

(01:49):
no primary, and let's take on hokeel done. This has
always worked that way. And Bruce Blakeman, you know, to
his credit, and I say this to his credit, he
wasn't listening to everybody else, and he was saying, I'm
gonna I'm gonna run a primary. I think I can
win the general election, and I'm going for it. And
so when he stepped in and he was not told

(02:12):
to stand down because ultimately Donald Trump was going to
really kind of make a decision or had to make
a decision here, and when he didn't, I think Elise
kind of said the heck with this. So I'll tell
you what I know, because I do know, and I
spoke to people today, I'll tell you what I know.

(02:32):
I'll tell you set this up for you, and then
I do want to talk about Trump in that, you know,
with this week, it was a busy week for him too,
where you had Rob Reiner and his comments about Reiner,
and I'm to get into that specifically about you know,
is that the good bad Trump whatever? But with the lease,

(02:55):
here's how it played out. So she had meetings with
the Trump team and they had said to her. Now
I'm saying this only because I know from people inside
these campaigns who have talked to me about it. I
won't say who, but I do know these things have happened,

(03:17):
that they were talking to the White House, and that
in February when she got the nomination. Then at that
point Trump was probably going to say to Bruce Blakeman,
or might have said to Bruce Blakeman, all right, look,
she has it. Let's clear the field. If that had happened,
by the way I think Bruce Blakeman would have, he

(03:39):
would have said to the President, I understand, and he
would have stood down and not run. But it's kind
of a weird time right now because he's like, all right,
I got every right to run, and he can put
together a formidable team, raise money. He comes to Long Island.
Of course, he just came off a big win. So

(04:02):
just looking at it from his perspective, like I said
in the past, I went through this in twenty two,
and I do think that the Republican Party leadership has
now made another mistake, because in twenty two we were told,
go out, talk to the chairs locally, go you know,

(04:22):
do what you need to do around the state, raise
your money, and let's see where the cards are, you know,
in a couple of months, and then everybody will be
on the same page and we'll respect whoever wins the nomination.
Is that acceptable? And we all said yes, And then
a couple of days later it was, Hey, we're going
with Lee Zelden. He's going to be our nominee. And

(04:43):
so I think we all kind of took a step back, like, well,
screw you, guys, that's not the way it was told
to us. And so we all stayed in the race,
and there was a primary, and primaries are not fun.
I can tell you this though, in the back of
my head in twenty two, and I'm sure in the
back of Andrew Giuliani's head and Harry Wilson's head, if

(05:04):
Donald Trump had come out and said I'm endorsing Leezelden
or whoever he endorsed, the rest of us probably would
have just dropped out because we weren't going to run
against the president, even though he wasn't president at the time.
We're all supporters of his and I met with I
met with Donald Trump down at mar A Lago. I
did back in Was it twenty one or twenty two

(05:28):
or the start of twenty two? The race was twenty two.
I can't remember if it was the end of twenty one,
whenever it was, but I met with him and I said, look,
here's why I think I'm the best candidate. We had
a a good, frank conversation. We talked about the odds
of winning, just generally for any Republican, and I said
to him, look, if I can't have your endorsement, and

(05:50):
I would love it, then you know, I would hope
that you could just stay out of it, since I'm
friends with you, and Giuliani's friends with you, and Leizelden's
friends with you. I he didn't really have a relationship
with Harry Wilson, and in the end he stayed out
of it, and so we ended up having a primary.
He kind of did the same thing here to Alis Stephonic.

(06:11):
He did not endorse her, and he said publicly, I
like Bruce Blakeman and I like Elis Staponic, two great people,
and he had a few times to do so and
he didn't. And I think and I know that that
played in the mind of Alis Staphonic, where she said, Okay, look,
why would I go through this? Why am I going

(06:33):
to have to go through a primary when I've got
the support of the party. Why do I need to
deal with this, spend all this money, be away from home,
and still then have an uphill battle in a democratic
state against the worst friggin governor in the world. But
she's still a Democrat in a democratic state. And that's
exactly why Elise decided to pull the plug yesterday, which

(06:55):
was a complete and utter shocker excuse me. To her
own team, they didn't know. They were having meetings preparing
for the scheduling in January and the event she was
going to the fundraising she was going to do, so
they were all caught off guard, and it wasn't until

(07:16):
late morning, early afternoon where I guess she told them,
And then they started finding out, as you know, in
the next hour or so and she put out her statement.
I think it was like three point thirty in the afternoon,
something like that, and then the whole world kind of
blew up politically here in New York. And I got
a call from Blakeman yesterday and we chatted a little bit.

(07:37):
You know, I think he's going to be a fantastic candidate.
So then the other question is what does Congressman Mike
Lawler do. Right, he was originally gonna run, and he
decided that at least would probably have Trump's endorsement, and
you know, a primary would not be the best use
of his time either. I think he's great in the

(07:59):
House of Represents and he's going to have his own
battle in his district, but I think he'll win. So
you know, now the question is to him, you know,
are you going to run again? And I know he's
thinking about it this weekend, but I think my guess
is that it's very late now in the game to
put a team together. You can, but my guess is

(08:20):
he would stay where he is run for reelection, which
I think is the right move obviously his decision. And
so if that's the case, then Blakeman has a clear
shot now going forward. Both the Republican and Conservative parties
will will rally around him, and now he can go
straight ahead for the entire year. Now he'll have ten

(08:41):
months really to go right. At the worst and the
worst Kathy Hokeel and I can tell you she would
rather have taken on at least Stephonic than she will
Bruce Blakeman because Stephanic in the North Country a lot
less people, you know, Blakeman's influences downstate and vote her

(09:03):
rich with crossover appeal Long Island. That's she's not doing
well in the suburbs. So if Blakeman can can really
put together a very strong campaign in the suburbs, and
I think he can, then he's got a real shot.
So let me talk to you about Trump. So this

(09:23):
week was kind of typical Trump, right, he had his
press conference and then you know, it was I thought
it was like the closing argument in a debate against
Joe Biden. It was like beating the hell out of
Joe Biden. It was his fault, his fault. And then
he was talking about the things that he was doing,
reminding people of what his accomplishments have been. And I

(09:44):
think they've been a lot of accomplishments in you know,
since January twentieth, and he's really getting this country back
on track. Militarily internationally, clearly here at home with the immigration,
but also the economy, I mean the gloom and doom
that's being portrayed by the left and the media. Honestly,
I mean it does have an effect on people's psyche,

(10:06):
but other than some nagging prices that are too high still, Otherwise,
wages are up, inflation's down, interest rates are down, gas
prices are way down. You're filling up your home right
now with home heating oil a lot less than it
was a year ago or two years ago. Right, So
many good signs. And then there are things that are

(10:27):
baked into the big beautiful bill which are going to
come to fruition in a few months, including the tax cuts.
So there are a lot of things happening that are good.
People need to be told them again and again and
again and again and again. And Trump loves to do that,
but sometimes he gets off track. And the Rob Reiner thing,

(10:49):
And here's what he said in the Oval office when
he was asked about Rob Reiner being killed. And I
guess we're just so used to the political response, which
I think a lot of us probably wanted him to say.
But you know, you're not going to get that Trump's
going to be dead, honest, And if you don't like Trump,
he ain't gonna like you. If you do like Trump,

(11:11):
he'll like you. But this is what he said. If
you didn't hear about when asked about Rob Reiner, President,
a number of Republicans have denounced your statement on True's.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
Social after the murder of Rob Reiner. Do you stand
by that post?

Speaker 5 (11:25):
Well, I wasn't a fan of his at all. He
was a deranged person as far as Trump is concerned.
He said he liked he knew it was false, affectous,
the exact opposite that I was a friend of Russia,
controlled by Russia. You know, it was the Russia hoax.
He was one of the people behind it. I think
he heard himself in career wise, he became like a

(11:46):
deranged person Trump derangement syndrome. So I was not a
fan of Rob Reiner at all, in any way, shape
or form. I thought he was very bad for our country.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
Yeah, okay, so that's the thought bubble of most politicians,
but it never comes out of their mouth. But you
would not probably expect anything different from Donald Trump and
than that honesty. That's how he personally felt about Rob Reiner, who, truthfully,
Rob Reiner was a big you know what a whole

(12:16):
okay he was during the whole Trump derangement syndrome in
the first term, Reiner was pushing out all this junk,
all this garbage, the Democratic talking points, the Russia hoax story,
all this stuff. I mean, he just perpetuated the lies. Now, okay,
he was brutally murdered by his son, So do you

(12:40):
give him a pass for now, like you just don't
say anything, or hey, despite me not getting along with
this guy, or we have totally different views. You know,
nobody should die like that, and that's horrible. You didn't
get that from Trump. I think people wanted it, but
they didn't get that from them. And so I'm kind

(13:02):
of thinking, and i'd I'd love to hear what you
think about this. One eight hundred three two one zero
seven ten. One eight hundred three to two one zero
seven ten. As we go into next year, you're gonna
get more and more of these kind of you know,
just Trump comments or truth social posts, which the magaworld loves.

(13:28):
I mean, there are times where I just sit there
and laugh because it's true and it's funny in and
of itself. It may not be diplomatic, but it's Trump
being Trump. I'm wondering, though, is it wearing off? Is
it something that is like, okay, enough of this? Even
you could be the biggest supporter Trump, I'm kind of
more curious about that than the people who can't stand

(13:51):
him because you never liked what he did or wrote anyway.
But is his thumb and his mouth gonna get not
so much him in trouble because he doesn't care. He's
not running again, but will his thumb and his mouth
be a concern for other Republicans who are gonna be running.
They're running this year, they're running for reelection in the House.

(14:13):
And I can tell you when I was in Westchester
County Executive office every day that first year of Trump's
first term in seventeen, when I was running for election,
every day, no matter what Donald Trump did or said,
that's all the press wanted to ask me. Like I
was his spokesperson, I had to defend what he would say.

(14:36):
That that became my job the entire what ended up
being the last year of me being county executive. I'm
running for election and literally every day County executive. How
do you feel about the immigration band by Donald Trump,
who can't stand Muslims. You know how they put it
all that stuff. County Executive Donald Trump said this about woman,

(14:58):
you called a woman fat? What are you? Every day?
That is what I dealt with and every day. This
is what Republicans are going to deal with going forward.
And I so I'm asking you again one eight hundred
and three two one zero seven ten, I'm asking you

(15:18):
you can tell me whether you're a Trump support or not.
It's almost you know, it kind of doesn't matter. But
does it concern you or do you not care? It's
kind of like a simple question, does it bother you
or do you not care me? I'm I'm again, I'm
sometimes ambivalent about it because that's the president being the president.

(15:39):
It's what got him here, it's why, it's why you
liked him, It's why you voted for him, because he
was blunt, because he is giving a big middle finger
to the establishment, who they quite frankly, are a bunch
of phonies. I mean, can you name one legitimate thing
about Chuck Schumer or Dan Goldman or any of them.

(16:01):
None of them. They're all phonies. They will say anything,
no matter what they might have just said something completely
one hundred percent different yesterday. It doesn't matter. So Trump
is gonna tell you like it is. So I mean,
that's that's the beauty of him, but that's also the

(16:21):
part that can drive people nuts. And I'm wondering the
economy is getting better next year. Let's say, but Trump
says something you know that's so outrageous, is it gonna matter?
One eight hundred three two one zero seven ten. One
eight hundred three two one zero seven ten. I'm curious
about what you think there, Oh, Toyota City, you still

(16:42):
have a few days. How great would this be to
head over to Toyota City in Mamaritik or go online
and buy that special person in your life? Maybe it's
even you. Maybe you love yourself so much you want
to be your own Sanna and go out and buy
yourself at Toyota. But maybe this is like the ultimate

(17:03):
Christmas gift. By the way, you got one more night
of Hanukah two? How cool would that be? Last night?
Last night? And uh brand new Toyota. Head over to
Toyota City and Mamerick. They've got a huge inventory in
stock and now the snow is gone. Thank god. You
can see the cars again and walk around. But I

(17:25):
mean there's really only one place to go, and that
would be Toyota City in Mamarnick. So head over there.
Be part of the Integrity Automotive Group family as I am,
because I got my vehicle from them. Head over to
Mamaronnick right off ninety five. Or you know what, you're lazy,
You don't want to go out, you're busy shopping. Okay,
Toyota cityeny dot com. Toyota cityeny dot com. Transparency, efficiency

(17:51):
and respect is what you're gonna get from Toyota City
in Marineric. How did you? Isis great?

Speaker 6 (17:59):
Literally?

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Yes great?

Speaker 7 (18:01):
I know it.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
Just when I when I stumbled and bumbled over Mamernick,
I just saw Bruce in the control room. He lit
up like a Christmas tree. He was so excited to
get that clip and play it at another time. One
hundred three two one zero seven ten. Yeah Christmas, everybody, Yes,

(18:23):
all right, line up, line up your phone calls and
take them in just a bit. Rob Astrino here on
seven ten w O War.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
Center. I'm sending you this letter to ask for your
holiday cheers.

Speaker 6 (18:53):
I hope that you come.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
With your bag full of fun.

Speaker 8 (18:58):
So glad it's the time of it.

Speaker 5 (19:04):
Center.

Speaker 4 (19:05):
I'm sending you this solicious that's twenty lines. I kill Wait,
she was under the Christ.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
That nice song. Deborah biezer nebra Reynolds. I know her
as she was the council woman of Malvernon. Deborah Beezer,
What a beautiful voice. A letter for Santa Okay, one
eight hundred and three two one zero seven ten lines jammed,
So let's get right to it. Andrew and Stanhope, how
are you?

Speaker 3 (19:40):
How's going? I just want to say, listen to the
nineteen minute speech, which sounds like a contradict. Trump given
the short speech, but I thought it was excellent, and
they left flipped out. They said he was unhinged, which
he wasn't. Biden was unhinged when he did the speech
in front of the red background with the two Marines,

(20:00):
and he was like Mussolini from an assisted living That's
how I described it.

Speaker 9 (20:05):
He was screaming.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
But Trump just laid out facts that inflation was caused
under Biden. Now it's down, gas prices are down, so
he just gave out economic facts. It was shortened to
the point high energy. So I just totally loved the speech.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
All right, Andrew, thank you.

Speaker 10 (20:22):
Hey.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
You know one thing that's not getting told because everyone
keeps saying and the media, of course is loving this.
Donald Trump's poll numbers are in the tank. Oh really,
So let me just go back historically at this point,
after basically at the end of the fifth year, Donald
Trump's numbers, his real clear average is about forty four

(20:47):
percent approval. You know where Obama was, you know where
Bush was, They were both forty two a little higher,
about forty two and a half. Put that in perspective
for a second when somebody yells how bad Donald try
is really and those numbers are gonna go up next year.
I think next year is the two hundred fiftieth anniversary
of our country. A lot of things are being planned.

(21:09):
You're gonna have the Olympics, you're gonna have the World Cup,
and you're gonna have the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary celebrations.
That is a lot of patriotism. You're gonna have people
feeling very good about America next year, at least those
who actually love our country. You won't have a lot
on the left. They'll be screaming and yelling about the

(21:30):
horrible racist flag that they got to look at all
the time. But most people are gonna feel pretty good.
And if they're feeling pretty good about the country, rooting
on the Americans in the World Cup or in the Olympics,
and you know, seeing all these festivities for our country's birth,
you know two hundred fifty years ago, the economy is
doing well, that's gonna be I think something not really

(21:54):
not really talked about, but that's gonna be an undertone
into next year that I think can play clearly help Republicans.
Patricia and Brooklyn, you're on the Rob Astorino Show on
seven ten w R.

Speaker 11 (22:07):
Happy holiday, Rob, Thanks, you're very welcome. I'm kind of
in my heart. I think Donald Trump is completely spot
on with this Rob Rhino business. He said the truth.
As far as I'm concerned, I would have said worse
because to me, I'm not making this up up. He
was an evil, big mount jerky as he really wants

(22:29):
the meeting. Sorry, he became the needed so I don't
I know it sounds I really don't give it them
shame on me.

Speaker 12 (22:38):
And it's Christmas.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
Thanks for the soul, Yeah, thank you, thank you. What
one hundred and three to two one zero seven ten
Sandra in the Garden State. Hello Sandra, Oh hello Rob.

Speaker 6 (22:54):
You know, Rob, I was thinking about this rhinu thing
in the text that Donald Trunk made the wall. That
send button is very very dangerous to all of us.
First of all, you can't take queens out of Trump.
You can't take Brooklyn out of me. These are our personalities,
and sometimes we say things, not that they will going

(23:15):
to regret, but maybe we will regret. I have a
sister and I have a problem with someone. The best
thing I could do is bounce it by my sister
before I press that send button. But sometimes I am
bounced by my sister, and then sometimes I regret.

Speaker 10 (23:30):
What I send.

Speaker 6 (23:30):
So look, Lina, he said some terrible things about Trump.
He basically what he said he could treason. That's like guests,
that's like the death sentence for Trump. And he also
said to them very cool things about Rush Limbaugh. So look,
like I said, that send button is very very tempting.

Speaker 10 (23:50):
It's better to.

Speaker 6 (23:51):
Journal your thoughts, burn them after you write them, and
play it safe. But sometimes, you know, we just get
carried away and we want to express how we feel.
And that's how he felt and I'm not angry at
him for what he said because actually what you read
today didn't even sound so bad. He was just responding.
He's a puncher, like Mohammad Ali was a puncher. You

(24:13):
say it, you can get it back.

Speaker 9 (24:15):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
Thanks and happy Hanukkah to you, Sandra. And you know what,
you Trump will never regret. He will never regret anything
he hit, send on or says, and if he does,
he'll never admit it. And you know what, Look, there's
something great about that too. It's like who gives a blank?
That's kind of his attitude, and you're gonna get raw,

(24:37):
raw truth from him. And yes, he knows he trolls
the left. Yes he knows he's gonna make their heads explode.
But that's part of the fun when he says his stuff,
and I love it. I love when the media asks
him a question like they're like, they're all hoping. He
says something like this, if they get that viral moment
or the or the gotcha stuff, what would they expe

(25:00):
back from him? Joe and Nurrochelle Hi, Joe.

Speaker 12 (25:05):
Hey, how you doing good? How are you doing today?

Speaker 2 (25:09):
I'm good? How you doing? Joe?

Speaker 12 (25:11):
I'm good. I just wanted to say my piece about
what the President said about Rob the uh. First of all,
he said he wasn't a fan, he didn't agree with
his beliefs, and he thought he was bad for the country.
What did he He really didn't say nothing that bad
about him. That was his feeling.

Speaker 2 (25:31):
I got tell you that, you thought I was kind
of clenching my butt cheeks waiting for him to say it.
I'm glad he was killed. I was just waiting for
him to say something like that. But I'm glad he didn't.
Thank God. Hey, thanks, thanks for the call. All right,
let's go to Jeff in Maplewood, New Jersey.

Speaker 8 (25:51):
Hey, Rob, I guess I'm on the outside on this.
I think the president's talk about Rob Reiner was inappropriate.
I think the president is the president of everybody in
the country. Whatever happened to the days when we didn't
speak ill of the dead? Okay, you know Rob Reiner
can't respond. Just let it go. Say my connulences to

(26:13):
the family. End the story. But I agree with you
that if the economy is booming next year, this will
be a nothing burger. Yeah, but whatever. I just think
Americans expect more from their President than just acting like
some drunk in a queen's bar.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
Jeff Dice for the call, but you know what they
they left it. They elected the guy in the queen's
bar because they wanted that. They wanted the fighter. They
wanted somebody who was going to kind of speak up
for them. And when you say that, Rob Reiner couldn't respond. Well,
Rob Reiner had ten years of going after Donald Trump.
This is kind of Trump's first time when he could respond.
I don't know if that was the right time to

(26:54):
do it again. What I might have said in that
spot and what Donald Trump said maybe two different things.
But nobody is thinking Donald Trump wouldn't respond that way.
I think the bigger story would have been if Trump said,
you know what, my condolences to his family. Rob Ryan
or and I didn't get along well or believe in

(27:14):
the same things, but you know, may God have May
God protect his soul. You really think Trump's gonna say that.
Let's go to Christine in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Hello, Christine, Hey, Rob, First.

Speaker 12 (27:31):
Off, love your show, wish it was more than an hour.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
Thank you.

Speaker 7 (27:35):
I think I'm on the bandwig and was thinking it
was just what I expected. From our president, which was
fine with me. Sorry. I mean, my first thing to
think was, oh, no, the princess write all the movies
that I loved about him. And then I said, she's
a total jerk. And then I said, I guess Farma,
maybe question Mark. But remember what our president said about

(27:58):
Ruth Badergensburg. He was very respectful. I think this was
just personal and he just went with his gut. And
that's why we love him.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
Yeah, now, hey, thanks for the call, Christina, and that
you see what Christine just said there at the end,
And that's why we love him because he's kind of
speaking for those who can't say what they would like
to say because they weren't allowed to say that because
you would get in trouble, you would get fired, you
would be looked down upon, you would get shadow banded

(28:28):
or censored. And you know, again, like Rob b Reiner
had plenty of time, He had a decade to really
go after Donald Trump in a very personal way as
well as using his platform. Rob Briiner had a hell
of a lot of platforms to choose from, whether it
was cinema or whether it was just speaking out, and

(28:50):
he got a lot of attention and he really perpetuated
a lie against Donald Trump in that whole Russia Gate
stuff and worse. So you know, look, it is what
it is. Let's go to do. Heather in New London, Connecticut. Hello, Heather, Hi, Rob.

Speaker 13 (29:11):
I just wanted to say I totally agree with President Trump.
I've been a supporter of him since twenty sixteen. I
appreciate his honesty. He's an individual, he's new. That's why
we all love him. I don't want him to change.
He's wonderful and I think he was respectful enough given

(29:32):
all the all that he has been through, especially from
mister Rohner.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (29:37):
Heather.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
Hey, I have a question for you. So my wife
and I always go up to Rhode Island and we
go right you know, R on ninety five, So we
go right past New London. We see the signs for it.
We've always kind of wanted to stop there. Is there
anything good to see or know?

Speaker 13 (29:50):
The harbor is very nice and it's a very nice
walking town.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
All right, I'm gonna next time I go, I'm going
to say Heather told us to come here. Thanks, and
I appreciate you listening. Bob in Trumbull, Connecticut. We've got
a lot of nutmeggers today. All right, Bob, how are you?

Speaker 14 (30:07):
I'm called? But a comment and the question. The comment
is the meathead was not acting and Archie was always
right about me. Now the question, is it true that
AOC was watering down the drinks and not sharing the

(30:28):
tips with the people in the kitchen.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
Where at the bar she worked at. Yeah, I don't
know the whole story, by the way, and I appreciate
the call, Bob, Thank you. The whole story about AOC being,
you know, from the hood working in the bar is
such a It's such a story that she and others

(30:51):
made up with and the Left was so happy to
run with. She grew up in Yorktown in northern Westchester.
She ran track at Yorktown High School. She worked at
the mobile station off two oh two. Her parents were
upper middle class, white collar workers. Such a BS story
and they love it. One and three two, one zero

(31:14):
seven to ten. Rob Astarino here, uh Ted and Paramus
New Jersey. Hello Ted?

Speaker 9 (31:22):
Yeah. On another subject, Hey, Rob, you've been a leader
on the on the immigration issued by spotting the operation
at the Westchester County Airport. I know you got access.
Tell the powers that be within the GOP that they've
got to come up with an immigration bill, so it

(31:45):
makes sense.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
Yeah so Ted, thank you. Yeah. So immigration is going
to be cutting both ways next year, as you can
see it already in the polling. And this again gets
into the whole bleeding heart thing that the left is
pushing out there in the media, because it was always
going to be. It didn't matter if it was the
hardcore criminals, the rapists and the murderers and everyone else,

(32:09):
the drug dealers that these democrats are protecting, literally protecting
in these sanctuary counties and states and cities. But it
was always going to be that one little grandma, the
one little kid that the media could focus on with
their cameras that somehow got caught up in it. And

(32:30):
by the way, they're not really going after grandma or
that kid. They're going to these drug dens and other
places that are being shielded for them, and they happen
to go in there and maybe grandma is living in
that house when they go get finally that drug murderer,
and so she is going to get caught up potentially.
But this is this is the leftist view right now

(32:54):
of everyone needs to be protected, but it's having a
little bit of an effect because the narrative now is
they're going after everyone. That ain't true. Some people are
getting caught up in it. But this is going to
be their narrative, and that's why the whole immigration thing
is gonna, I think, is going to be an issue
next year to some extent. Tony and White plains. Hi, Tony,

(33:15):
you're on seven to ten w R.

Speaker 12 (33:18):
Hey roll. I remember talking to you a couple of
weeks ago. I recommended you for the lieutenant governor. How
about uh, Alicia lieutenant who think it'll be one who
should be great?

Speaker 2 (33:30):
Elis thephonic No? No, no should no? That that's it.
I mean, you don't run for governor and then drop
out and say hey, I'll I'll take I'll take the
number two position. That doesn't happen. I mean, as far
as I know, I texted her before just to you know, well,
I won't say what I did, what I texted her about,
but I know in some respects what she's going through.

(33:53):
It's tough. It's a very tough decision when you're so
deep into the game and and then all of a
sudden it comes to an end. I mean, not running
for Congress, not running for reelection. That kind of surprised
me too, because she could have gone back. But I
think I think she's just throwing her hands up and
she's just like sick of a lot of it. And
I don't blame her, you know, I mean, unfortunately she

(34:17):
was gonna be she was she was nominated for the
UN ambassador and that didn't work out. They had to
pull that, so that, I mean, you know, when you're
a public guy, that's kind of an embarrassment. I think
she felt humiliated. And then she's obviously had some fights
with the Speaker of the House, and when when Trump
didn't give her the endorsement readily, you know, she's kind

(34:41):
of looking like, why do I have to go through this?
Still a shocker. But Sal in Union, New Jersey, I sal.

Speaker 12 (34:51):
They were it was finally to that caller that said, oh,
I wasn't very president that shoal to speak like that.
What about all the stuff the Democrats still the Democrat presidents.
What did they say about Trump?

Speaker 2 (35:06):
Oh? Yeah, no is of course, of course they can
say whatever they want and it's and it's fair game
according to the left in the media. Of course, the
outright lie about the guys. So I look, if i'm him,
I'm like, screw you people, I'm gonna hit back, and
I'm gonna hit back hard. And that's what he does
and nobody should nobody should be surprised by it. So yeah,

(35:28):
I mean you're right, So of course, I mean that's
that's what they do. Steven Central Jersey, Hi, Steve, Hey.

Speaker 15 (35:36):
Rob, Rob, I'm gonna take along with what that other
guy just said. Nobody's looking at why would Trump say
these things? All right, instead of maybe more synthesetic. All right,
go back ten years. Rob Ryaner was part of the
hateful rhetoric that has made Donald Trump's life internally a
living hell. And we all know this, yea, all right?

(35:56):
With Trump rushed your collusion all the way to him
almost getting killed. I'm not saying Rob Ryiner planned that
the assassination, that type of hateful rhetoric. Right He Trump
has suffered financially, he almost lost his life, his family
has suffered. And yes, Rob Reiner's rhetoric, his hateful rhetoric,
was part of it. So Trump's got that in the
back of his mind. Number two, what are they all

(36:18):
saying on the other side about Charlie Kirk. They were
blaming Charlie Kirk's rhetoric for him being murdered murdered by
one of their own on the left. So I'm getting
tired of this. We got to defend Trump. We got
to go. You know, Trump said five years ago to
Russia Limbaugh, the problem with the Republican Party we don't fight, man.
And there's the problem right there. If we lose next year,
it's because we're not fighting. We're not standing alongside Trump

(36:40):
behind wherever you want to put it and fight fight fights.
What do you say, sir?

Speaker 2 (36:44):
Thank you, Steve. I'll tell you Donald Trump said that
to me personally a couple of times. He said, these
are the nastiest people you'll ever deal with, these Democrats,
and unless you're willing to fight back just as hard
or harder, don't do it. And you know, he said
something to me about when I was on CNN as
the Republican because you know, I would defend Donald Trump

(37:05):
as I was on CNN for three years defending him,
and you know I would. I would do it in
a more low key way, a fun way. You know,
I give a Trump translation on what he meant. Because
they were always, you know, so nasty about Donald Trump.
Everything he would say was racist and all this crap.
But I remember him saying to me one day when

(37:28):
I went down to visit him in the Oval, and
he said to me, you know, thank you for uh
for defending me and you know for being on CNN.
That ain't that ain't easy. He goes and kind of joking,
kind of not said to me, you could be a
little tougher, but that's his style. My style was I'm
going to get my points out. I'm going to defend him.
I just might do it with a smile, sort of

(37:48):
like Scott Jennings the way he does it. All Right,
what am I gonna do here?

Speaker 11 (37:53):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (37:53):
Deep Material Contracting, Yes, Deep Material Contracting nine one four
four oh nine seven six zero nine one four four

it's also your siding like vinyl siding, your gutters, chimneys.

(38:37):
You better be careful by the way, you know, in
the in the wintertime, if you're lighting a fire on
your in your house with your chimney, make sure your
chimney's working properly. Your windows, your doors. They do all

I want to tell you about the Cardinal and when
I come back, I want to tell you and share

(39:20):
some stories about Cardinal Dolan because I worked for him.
People may not realize that. And I posted on my
Facebook and x and Instagram a photo of me with
the Cardinal and Cardinal Egan back in February of two
thousand and nine, and I'll tell you why, and I'll
tell you about the Cardinal. And I'm very sad that

(39:42):
he's retiring. I don't think he wanted to do it
right now, but the only one guy gets that decision,
and that's the Pope. And I'll explain what the process
was is and a little bit about the Cardinal and
a few other things. So don't go away here. On
the Rob Astorino Show on seven t w o R.

Speaker 4 (40:01):
He needs to shine decorate your hot Christmas with sing

(40:24):
it out and let it.

Speaker 1 (40:27):
Ring, dear.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
Beautiful song. That's Chris Jamison all the story. See I
know her as Chris Matthews because she sings at my
church and she's going to sing that song. Boy, I
think I'm doing the four o'clock mass that Holy Rosarie
I on Christmas Eve, and I think she's singing that
song that same mass. So I will start the standing ovation.

(40:57):
Decorate your Heart for Christmas by Chris Jamison. You can
get it on Apple iTunes. It's a beautiful song. All right, Priscilla,
I'm gonna let you come on real quick because I
got some other things to do. How are I Priscilla
in New York City.

Speaker 10 (41:11):
Hi, I'm great. Thanks. I just wanted to say I'm
a staunch supporter of President Trump, but you know, I
do wish that he would uphold some decorum, much more
decorum when it comes to issues like Rob Reiner's horrific death.
He's never been a fan of his, although I've enjoyed

(41:32):
many of his movies. But yeah, and also that the
president would surround himself with people who might give him
a nudge, and.

Speaker 2 (41:41):
That ain't ever happening, Priscilla, that ain't ever happening. Nope,
There's only one guy that gives him a nudge, and
that's himself. Trust me, I have I've had this conversation
with people very very close to him, and they all laugh.
They're like, no, Donald Trump, it does what Donald Trump
is gonna do, no matter what we say. And they've

(42:03):
had these conversations in the past and he kind of
just laps them off, like yeah, okay, all right, So
let me just tell you so this was a really
difficult week for me personally because the Archbishop of New York,
Cardinal Timothy Dolan, who I adore. I mean, he is
just the most amazing man that you will ever meet.

(42:23):
I mean, just to the bone, a good person. And
I got to first meet him back in two thousand
and eight. I was running the Catholic Channel on Sirius XM,
still on Channel one twenty nine, and a lot of
the people I had hired and worked with back then
are still on the air. So I remember one of
the jobs I had was I was going around the
country and interviewing, you know, hierarchy in the church and

(42:46):
including this one guy Milwaukee who was the archbishop at
the time. And I went out there and I still
remember this day. I was in downtown Milwaukee. I drove
across the bridge to where the I guess the art
which diocesis in office was, and we did in an
interview radio interview Archbishop Dolan, and it was just like

(43:07):
throughout the whole interview, I'm like, this guy is a superstar,
just so funny. And afterwards when we were done, off
the air, done, and I said to him, Hey, I like,
you got a recommendation. I'm gonna I'm staying in downtown Milwaukee,
and I you know, is there a good place to
go get something to eat? And he goes, what you're

(43:30):
by yourself? Uh uh, Come, I'm coming over to a
I'm going to a parishioner's house for beers and brats.
We're gonna watch the brewers tonight. Come on join us.
That's the first interaction I ever had with then Archbishop Dolan, who,
of course a year later would become the Archbishop designate
of New York when Cardinal Egan was retiring. How does

(43:53):
it work? So this is it's not a surprise necessarily
because every BHO when he turns seventy five must submit
a le letter of resignation to the Pope. Now the
Pope can either accept it or say, you know, okay, thanks,
but you know I'm not ready to replace you. Whatever.

(44:18):
This is a shocker in that Pope Leo from America
obviously was just with Cardinal Dolan in the conclave in May,
part of which you know Dolan was from what we hear,
somewhat instrumental in gathering some votes for Leo, a fellow
American who he didn't know well. He I mean, the

(44:40):
cardinal admitted this he really didn't know Prevost too well
because he really wasn't an American. He wasn't an American
bishop in that cardinal he didn't have a diocese so
he was more international, Rome based Peru. But the new
guy comes in, Pope Leo comes in after Francis dies,

(45:00):
and he hasn't made any major decisions yet, so everyone
is still Francis holdovers, the Secretary of State, the ambassador
to the United Nations, from the Holy See, the ambassador
to the United States. You have some you know, cardinals
who are eighty. This was his first major decision, and

(45:20):
it's a shocker to me because Dolan is in good health,
he's beloved. He's made the tough decisions that they had
to make here in the archdiocese, closing schools, closing churches
and parishes, the sex abuse, unfortunately, just selling properties and
getting that kind of wrapped up. But man, I can
tell you, if you've ever been around him, what you

(45:43):
see is what you get. He is just so affable,
so down to earth, and he has such amazing relations
with the non Catholic community, you know, other Christian denominations,
the Jewish community, muslim They just all love him and
so do I. And he's been a personal friend. He

(46:04):
was my boss. He hired me again in two thousand
and nineteen to launch something within the archdiocese, which I
did and worked directly for him. He's just an amazing man,
and I'm sad that he's gonna leave and won't be
our arch bishop anymore. I don't really know much about

(46:25):
the incoming archbishop, Ron Hicks. He's from Chicago. He likes
deep dish, just deep dish pizza. That's gonna be his
first problem. And I still remember people like is he irish?
Is he Irish? Because every Archbishop of New York has
been Irish. He does have Irish blood, and he made
sure everyone knew that the other day. Anyway, more on
this in the coming weeks. I didn't even get to

(46:46):
tell you last week. I went down to the Ranger game,
had a great time, and I wanted to tell you
about the freaking five dollar pretzel I paid for. I
got robbed. I got robbed right near Madison Square Garden.
I'll tell you a merry Christmas. Yeah, merry Christmas is right.
I hope that you have a merry Christmas, have a
blessed Christmas, have a happy Honukkah here on night seven,

(47:10):
have a wonderful weekend, everybody. I will be back to
your next Saturday at four o'clock and one o'clock on
Newsmax next Saturday. Until then, Bye bye
