Speaker 1 (00:28):
I will be part of the conversation and look, Leland
doing an event in Tampa. That's rare, me doing one
that's even rare. Yes, so this is special.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Ryan's leaving his house on a Sunday.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
This is a big deal. But looking forward to it.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
I know, I know the bucks come on a four
h five, But don't worry, we're not paying attention to that.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
So this is going to be a great, great event.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
People are going to get a chance to meet you,
to learn more about book Born Lucky. I'm going to
be I guess what asking you questions? Is that my
role in all of this?

Speaker 4 (01:07):
That's what I've been told.

Speaker 5 (01:10):
It can't that's the entertainment. Tell some jokes.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
No, you know, it's really interesting Ryan that.

Speaker 5 (01:18):
Born Lucky debuted on the New York Times with seller
List at number four. And I am a television ichor,
which means I'm insanely narcissistic, but not narcissistic enough to
believe that it's because of me and that Born Lucky.
As you know, and we've talked about it a few times,
it is hope for every parent of a kid who's
having a hard time. And what I've found now doing
a few of these events around the country is how.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
Many parents whose kids having.

Speaker 5 (01:41):
A hard time autism, ADHD, anxiety, bullying, whatever it is,
that they feel totally alone and powerless. And Born Lucky says,
You're not alone as a parent because there's so many
parents with kids having a hard time, and there is
so much much you can do.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
And we already have a lot of people set to
come out to this event, and I'm telling you it's
really going to be a lot of fun. So again,
it's going to be an Oxford Exchange in Tampa three
thirty on Sunday. Leland Vidtert will be there. I will
be there, and we'll be talking about his book, Born Lucky.
So make sure you come out and join us.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
Yeah, and you can sign up at born lucky dot com.
So born lucky dot com sign up, get a ticket
and that make sure you have a seat, and you
also have a book. We'll sign all the books for you,
personalize them. And you know, Ryan, you should check your
social media because I've posted a bunch about this and
you have not accepted any of my.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Post requests that that's me, that's data accepting it.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
But he did ask me earlier today he did it
if I saw and I said no, not yet. I
posted about it on our Facebook page at Ryan Gorman Show,
and I just saw that you tagged us and I
will accept them and reshare them.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
And I also want to note that when it comes
to the signing of the book, that will be you,
Leland doing it. If I have to sign any I'm
using auto pen.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Yes well, And I also want to point out that
people should go to our social media to see this,
just to see Ryan's new headshot that's a little off brand.
I mean, Leland, do you have any comments?

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Right?

Speaker 4 (03:22):
You know, I wasn't going to bring it up.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
I will looks like it's going to be a fun event. Yes,
I want you to show up. That's what that picture said.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
I mean like it's gonna get a ton of comments
because everyone is going to go and roast Ryan's picture.
But I guess he thinks it makes him look like
he's fun.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
What else is new?

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Yeah, all right, We've got a lot to talk about
on top of that event. And again we're joined by
News Nation Chief Washington anchor Leland Viddard. It seems like
we're on the same page about this White House ballroom.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
I really don't care, to be honest with you. You know,
I don't care at all.

Speaker 5 (03:59):
Yeah, it does not matter to me.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
And you know, you think about you got you know,
twenty percent of certain places like where I'm from.

Speaker 5 (04:08):
In Missouri, who rely on food stamps snap benefits, and
those are gonna run out at the end of the month,
and there's gonna be a lot of kids who are hungry,
and there's gonna be a lot of families who can't
afford Thanksgiving dinner. And people are flipping out over a ballroom.
What I thought was interesting is the split screen on
cable TV that both Fox and MSNBC were carrying live

(04:30):
pictures of the construction.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
The construction project. Who cares? And what I thought was
sort of.

Speaker 5 (04:36):
Telling about it was, you know, the less completely flipped
out because they said, you know, this was desecration of
the you know, beautiful White House and on and oniald
the East Wing's kind of always been a dump and
it needs some help.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
And then the flip side is is Fox goes, this
is proof of just how powerful Donald Trump is. Well,
he's the president. You think it's just found only silly,
but the fact that.

Speaker 5 (05:02):
No matter what Trump does in some cases, he is
going to get crushed is pretty true. True. I mean,
it just it's kind of wild to.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Think the oh the way I look at it.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
If there's one thing Trump does know quite a bit about,
it's this kind of stuff. So figure, you know what,
it's probably gonna look pretty nice at the end of
the day, be a nice new addition. And yeah, I
will never be invited. There doesn't affect my life one
way or another. Now, now I want to talk about
the government shutdown because you mentioned that, and you're right.

(05:34):
You've got the snap benefits potentially set to run out.
You've got federal workers they're set to miss their first
full paycheck tomorrow. And then on top of that, you
have you know, one of the underlying issues which is
a real thing. You have a lot of people, including
a lot of people in red states, red districts, their
Obamacare premiums are set to shoot up if those subsidies,

(05:57):
those enhanced subsidies, are not extended. So this is something
that's impacting a lot of people.

Speaker 5 (06:06):
I think it's impacting a huge number of people. And
I predicted on Monday that the way this was going
to work in terms of pressure on Congress to actually
deal with this.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
Is you're going to have food stamps benefits run out.

Speaker 5 (06:22):
There's going to be a war over who's at fault
for the food stamps benefits war running And they're already
is Pennsylvania Governor Josha Pair is already putting up things
on the Pennsylvania's website saying this is Republican's fault. Republicans
are rightly holding votes every day to reopen the government
and Democrats are saying no, as you point out, because
of the Obamacare subsidies, along with a.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
Lot of other things. And what's going to happen next
is air traffic control.

Speaker 5 (06:48):
Around Thanksgiving is going to be a mess.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Ye, And you.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
Put those so you're going to have your TV anchors.

Speaker 5 (06:55):
Camping out at airports where there's gonna be big lines
and people been overnight everything else, and that is going
to be the inflection point.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
Now, the question is who is the.

Speaker 5 (07:07):
One who blinks? And I don't know what the answer
to that is.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Yeah, I think it's I think it's Democrats eventually, because look,
the fact of the matter is, you can reopen the
government right now, and you can start negotiating on the
Obamacare subsidies once it's reopened. There have been some cracks
on the Republican side, but I don't think Trump is
ready to crack anytime soon. So and you know, he's

(07:32):
the one everybody turns to with, you know, the strategy
on something like this. But you're right, and I've pointed
this out too. When it comes to Thanksgiving holiday travel,
it's the busiest travel week of the year. If you
start seeing families of military members on onlines trying to
get a turkey from like a food bank in communities

(07:53):
across the country because they haven't been I mean, that's
going to be a disaster. That is correct, all right,
And I think that's a great place to leave it
right there until Sunday at Oxford Exchange again in Tampa
three thirty A conversation about Leland's book Born Lucky.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Go to it's Born Lucky dot com.

Speaker 5 (08:16):
Right, yeah, so we Wereborn luckybook dot com, which is
what we said before. And then I think that there
is a growing movement. This is this Born Lucky journey.
People are responding to it because of this message of hope.
So we got born Lucky dot com is our new

(08:37):
website and there's gonna be some exciting stuff coming up.
Your listeners, I know, who have been a big, big
supporters of the book will be excited to hear but
born Lucky dot com and good news, we're back on
the New York Times bestseller list. So it is something
that is capturing people in America.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
All Right, we're looking forward to the event. I will
see you on Sunday. And Leland, thanks so much for
coming on this morning. Really appreciate it. Thank you, my friend.

Speaker 5 (09:02):
