Speaker 1 (00:00):
Right now showing us in studio, we have Coach of
the Pat and Aaron Show on ninety five to three WUDA.
Aaron Jacobson is with us. Let's start with the Bucks
win over the Saints twenty three to three. Defense showed
up big time in this game. Anthony Nelson, Antoine Winfield
Junior especially, that's what carried them to this win.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
That's it. I mean, the offense I thought was subpar
yesterday for the Buccaneers, but they didn't need it. The defense,
like you mentioned the Nelson interception at the goal line
and just locked it in with ease. And their defense
was flying yesterday. And that's what we're used to seeing
back in the day under Todd Bowles. It's what we
were looking to see. We didn't see it enough last year.
The offense was carrying this team too many times last year.

(00:44):
Last week, tough game for this Buccaneers team. You go
into Detroit, you take a tough loss. Nothing looked good
well this week. Even though the offense didn't get quite
back on track, the defense really looked sharp. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Now I will add one caveat the defense was going
up against the Saints offense, which is awful.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
You don't have to mention that. I mean brutal and
so much so that they ended up to your point
with their backup quarterback, their draft pick. Yeah, they decided,
all right, let's make a change and see what the
kid can do, and not much can doo much.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
No, Now, you also had Chase McLoughlin three second half
field goals over fifty yards. It's amazing. You know, back
in the day, fifty yard field goal used to be
a big deal, you know. Now, I mean these kickers,
they're kicking from fifty five sixty, you know, sixty plus.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
And by the way, in college, you would never see
kids like with Ease kicking the fifty yarders. Now in
college you're seeing the kids kick the fifty yarders. So
I don't know what they're feeding them, what's going on
the legs, what type of stretching these kids are doing.
But it's with Ease they're that they're nailing these. But
the kicker conversation is always funny in general, because after

(01:56):
Week one and we two Bucks fans were talking about
getting rid of Chase McLaughlin yesterday. No, he's been fantastic
and he's been pretty lights out for them since he
got here.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
How much do they need Bucky Irving back run game?
You know, it had really picked up in recent years
after you know, not having much of one for a
long stretch, but this season it's struggled a little bit
without Bucky Aero.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Yeah, they definitely have. And I think you know now
they've elevated Rashad White back to that number one role
which he used to be before Bucky emerged. I think
Sean Tucker needs to be the number one guy while
Bucky's out. He ran really effectively yesterday. Rashad White does
a lot of other things so well that I think
you can just keep him in that role that he
was when Bucky was there, the number two and just

(02:38):
elevate Sean above him. But you're absolutely right. Let's not
forget though, they're still without the right tackle in Luke Etticky,
and that whole right side is a shake up from
what of the offensive line from what it usually is.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Overall, we've seen a lot of turnover and we're joined
by Aaron Jacobson Coast at the Patt and Aaron Show
on ninety five three w D a recap of the
Bucks game yesterday. Overall, I think we've had this turn
over with offensive coordinators in each of the last couple
of seasons, and I think the new one has done
pretty good so far this year. But boy, some of

(03:09):
that play calling. If the goal line, the hell was
going on there?

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Well, I don't I disagree, Like just run the football.
They did. You got to get the you got to
get in the en zone. Like run the football.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
But I mean, you're gonna keep doing it over and
over and over and over again. You don't mix it
up and try to, you know, come up with the
more creative play to bunch it in.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
If they if they throw the football and they don't,
I can't believe they're on the one yard line. How
do they not run the football? We are so spoiled
as football fans. We don't know what we want. We're
so fickle, we go back and forth, we're inconsistent. We
don't know.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
You got to get creative with it. I just feel
like you keep doing the same thing over on two
different goal lines. Like I don't know for people that
have seen a different player too.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
If you're for people that are listening that don't even know,
that didn't watch or didn't see this, you're on the
one yard line. You've got four plays, essentially assuming that
you're gonna go for it on fourth down from the one.
Four plays to get one four plays to get one yard.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
I agree they should be able to do it. But
when you can't, when you keep getting stuffed, then and.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Then and that goes back, goes back to the offensive line.
Like I was saying, like you got to be better
up front.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
So you've got the bye week. Now, how healthy could
they get during this by week?

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Pretty healthy? A Mecca Buka who's been playing, is just
going to get better and better as he keeps going.
But Chris Godwin at some point maybe get him back.
We know Mike's done for the year, but I mentioned
Luke geticky on the right side now, and I'm not
saying all these guys are going to be coming back
right after the bye, but they're banged up, and extra
health for this team and everyone eat Baker Baker Mayfield.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Yeah, he's banged up.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Everybody needs this bye week.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
He's been getting hit quite a bit, and so he
got the Patriots and get the Bills, he got the
Rams after the bye week. Tough stretch, but then they
might have the easiest schedule in the league after that
another two game lead on the division. Real quick, us
HAF losing thirty four to thirty one to Memphis. A
couple of notes, third quarter, fourth and four. At that
point they were up twenty four to seven. Team they
went for it in the moment. I was like, just

(05:03):
kick the field goal, don't go for it right there,
get a two possession lead. They didn't do it.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
But they ended up getting a two position lead. At
some they were up thirty one to seventeen. Correct at
one point.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Yeah, but then Memphis went on that seventeen oh run.
I just feel like it. There was a little bit
of momentum that kind of stalled there where you can
keep adding on Golish he spent more time on the
field attending to injured players during the game than he
was on the sideline actually coaching the game. It was crazy.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Yeah, it was crazy, and you saw early some turnovers.
So I was worried about this game last week when
we talked about it. I was worried about it. And
here we go.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Yeah, and that's it for them. I don't think. I mean,
they would need a miracle in order to miratle win
the conference. All right, coast of the pat and Aaron
Show on ninety five three WDA. Aaron Jacobson with us
this morning, Aaron, thanks so much, Thank you. The Ryan
