Speaker 1 (00:00):
George Clooney just did an interview with CBS Sunday and
he talked about whether or not he has any regrets
about getting involved in politics last.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Year during the election, you threw yourself into politics, which
I guessed, essay New York Times looking back, would you
do that again? Yes, we had a chance.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
I wanted there to be, as I wrote a p
ed a primary, let's battle test this quickly and get
it up and go. And I think the mistake with
it being Kamala is that she had to run against
her own record, and it's very hard to do. If
the point of running is to say I'm not that person,
you know, it's hard to do. And so she was

(00:40):
given a very tough task. I think it was a mistake.
Quite awesome.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
Yeah, so he said, Kamala Harris was a mistake.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
And then you know, we had talked about Hunter Biden
going off on George Clooney because of that op ed,
and he addressed that as well.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Did you see Hunter Biden's reaction?

Speaker 5 (00:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (00:57):
I saw what did you make? Well?

Speaker 3 (01:00):
I could spend a lot of time debunking many of
the things he said, because many things he said were
just outright lives you know, Obama didn't put me up
to it. It wasn't my fundraiser, it was my fun
all the things. But the reality is, I don't think
looking backwards like that is helpful to anyone.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
So George Clooney, you know, had quite a bit to
say about the whole thing, doesn't regret it at all,
and took a dig at Kamala Harris.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Yeah, Clooney did the right thing at the time.

Speaker 6 (01:28):
I mean, he let the world know, like, hey, I
just saw this guy, and he ain't up for it
for another couple of years.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
But he didn't get his way.

Speaker 6 (01:35):
I think his way probably would have worked out better
for Democrats if they had a mini primer. I don't
thin Kamala Harris would have been the nominee. But if
you go back and you remember the fact that she
would become the first black female nominee for the Democratic Party,
that's what they wanted. Yep, how are you going to
turn that down?

Speaker 4 (01:53):
Whoopy?

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Goldberg got a little irritated on The View yesterday when
she was handed a note telling her she needed to
clarify a joke she made about Trump.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
So here's what she initially said.

Speaker 7 (02:03):
And he said that Joe Biden didn't know who he
was partning using an autopen. How come he don't know
who this guy is?

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Does he used an auto for me?

Speaker 1 (02:11):
So she's joking, saying that Trump signed a part in
for this crypto guy with an autopen, and then a
little while later she's talking about something else in Sonny
hands or a.

Speaker 5 (02:20):
Note they're supposed to go to when they're listening to
What the hell what passes notes?

Speaker 2 (02:27):
No, no off pen used?

Speaker 4 (02:28):
If Trump used an.

Speaker 7 (02:29):
Autopen to part it was a joke. We don't know
if Trump used an autopen. Oh, but we do know
that he didn't know.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Who that crypto guy was.

Speaker 5 (02:39):
Well, I'm sorry. You know, the hardest thing about this
job now is no one understands nuance there. You know,
when you hear a joke, when somebody's fooling around, when
they're not saying something specific, especially on this show. I'm
very specific when I'm when I'm pointing stuff out, when

(03:01):
I'm making jokes, you know, when I'm making jokes.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
This is ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Yeah, so she was pretty ticked off. She tore up
the legal note. But remember for a while, you know,
last year, during the election, they had to read these
legal disclaimers because they were saying so much stuff about
Trump and Pete hegseth.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
So they did it again to Whoopee and she got upset.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
It's actually today's show that's going to be even more interesting.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Oh yeah, Marjorie Taylor Green is going to be on yuh.
I can't wait to see what happens.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
We'll see what happens there.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
With federal workers going without pay for weeks and snap
benefits paused during this government shut down, a lot of
families in the Tampa Bay area need help. And I
saw firsthand last night just how great the need is.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
Feeding.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Tampa Bay to a drive through food distribution yesterday at
their center, and I brought my son and his friend
to volunteer. It started at three point thirty, but cars
were lined up starting at one o'clock. This parking lot
was packed full of people who were waiting hours to
get food, and we ended up working the line putting

(03:59):
food in cars. My son and his friend were putting
bags of potatoes and bags of vegetables and cars. I
first I started out lifting. They had like just a
big box full of food.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
We don't know what was in it.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
I started doing boxes, and then I was struggling a
little so a guy was like, here, why don't you
do the bread and I'll boxes. So yeah, I got
I got to mote it a little bit. But I
mean it was people from all walks of life. Everybody
who came through was so so grateful for what we
were doing. As we were talking to some people, there
were some people there who said that they've never need
help before, but they're government workers who have gone weeks

(04:32):
without pay and now they need help. And then some
are asking, you know, can I come back and volunteer?
What can I do to give back? You know, I
don't have the money to donate, obviously, but they want
to be there to donate their time. So there's volunteer
opportunities at Feeding Tampa Bay every single day. And then
on Friday they're going to do the drive through food
distribution like what I did last night again and they

(04:54):
need volunteers for that too.

Speaker 6 (04:56):
Yeah, there's a ton of great work being done by
Feeding Tampa Bay a bunch of other organizations in the area.
But when you do something like what you did, you
get to see firsthand who these people are who are
in need of help, and it surprises a lot of
people who volunte here.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
And my son actually said, Mom, some of these people
have really really nice cars. And I said, well, you
don't know what their story is. You don't know when
the last time was they were able to make a payment.
You don't know if they borrowed a car from a
friend or something like.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
You don't know what their story is.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
And we were talking to the CEO, Thomas Mantz, and
somebody asked, you know, do people have to sign up?
Do they have to register or prove that they were
getting SNAP And he said, nope. If people are hungry,
you know, if they need food, they can.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
Come through here.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
And he said they don't see a lot of abuse
because who wants to sit in a food line for
two hours three hours if you don't need it.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
That's exactly right.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
The Tampa Bay Areas, two biggest cities, are considered some
of the best for veterans in the US. According to
wallet Hub, Tampa and Saint Pete made the top ten,
so they compared one hundred of the biggest cities across
nineteen key indicators like liveability, affordability, military skill, I related jobs,
VA facilities, and how friendly the communities are to veterans.

(06:05):
Tampa came in at number two, and they noted rising
income expectations and the number of VA health and resource facilities.
And then Saint Pete came in at number eight with
the eleventh best employment rate in the country, really good economy,
and the sixteenth best quality of life for veterans. Also,
they came in sixteenth for health now beating Tampa and

(06:27):
coming in at number one was Austin, Texas, but a
lot of Florida Citi's made the list, or Lando at
number seven, Miami at thirteen, and Jacksonville at eighteen.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Yeah, there's no question this is a great area for veterans.
You have a lot of I have.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
So many friends who are either active duty military or
veterans who live here.

Speaker 4 (06:47):
So many.

Speaker 6 (06:47):
Yeah, you've got really good VA services here generally speaking,
not the case for everybody, but for most veterans who
are seeking that. You also have a ton of really
great organizations they're going to help veterans. We've talked to
so many of them here on the show. There was
some study or some poll not long ago where it
didn't have I can't remember if it was Tampa Bay
Area or Florida ranked very high when it came to

(07:09):
taking care of veterans, and it made absolutely no sense
because time and time again you see this when studies
are done about the best places for veterans to live,
Tampa Bay area, state of Florida coming in towards the top.
So even though it's wallet Hub, that sounds like on
this one, got it right.
