Speaker 2 (00:04):
James Woods, who is a very conservative.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
MAGA actor, got choked up talking about Rob Reiner and
credits him for saving his career. He told Jesse Waters
on Fox News that he went from being out of
a job to being nominated for an oscar after Rob
went to bat for him and cast him in Ghosts
of Mississippi. Here's what he said about their friendship.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
People who didn't know that Rob and I knew each other,
they see us laughing and you know, kidding each other,
and they go, how is it that you and Rob
Reiner are friends? And I said, what do you mean?
They said, well, you are so different in your politics.
Speaker 4 (00:39):
And so on.
Speaker 3 (00:40):
I said, look, let me explain something you about Rob
Reiner so that you know. First of all, I judge
people by how they treat me, and Rob Reiner was
a godsend in my life. We got along great, We
loved each other, and he was always on my side.
But when people would say to me, well what do
you think of his politics? I would say, I think
Rob is a great patriot. Do I agree with some
(01:04):
of or many of his ideas on how that patriotism
should be enacted to celebrate the America that we both love. No,
but he doesn't agree with me either, but he also
respects my patriotism. We had a different path to the
same destination, which was a country we both love.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Yeah, so really well, yeah, he yeah, really well. Put
that clip was a little bit long, but I thought
it was important what he said, yeah, and how he
put it all kind of into perspective.
Speaker 5 (01:32):
And then Jerry Seinfeld also posted a tribute about Rob Reiner.
I did not know this before I saw this, but
he said that Reiner was one of the three most
important people in his career, alongside Larry David and George Shapiro.
And he said his show was close to cancelation because
NBC executives they didn't understand the whole show about nothing.
(01:53):
Oh reallys and Reiner personally fought network leadership to keep
the show on the air, saying I got to give
it time for it to find its audience. Ended up
obviously being the right decision, and Seinfeld said the series
wouldn't have survived without Rob Reiner advocating for them, right.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Yees, So it sounds like he really fought for people,
went to bad for people, and his opinion was trusted
in Hollywood. This trending story brought to you by Trajanwealth.

close friends, cinematographer Barry Markowitz, told The New York Post
he stayed with the Reiners for five days, just weeks
before they were killed by their son Nick. He said
(02:30):
he was going to be in town for a movie premiere,
and Rob said, no, no.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
No, you're staying at a hotel. Come stay at our house.
He said.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Everything was business as usual, and he's shocked by what happened.
He said their daughter, Romy the one who ended up
finding them dead, that she lived there too.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
She was in and out of.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
The house, and at dinner time they all had a
good time bsing with each other.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
He said.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
They watched movies, played basketball together, played with the dogs.
Family time, a big love fest, and Nick seemed to
be on the upswing. He was part of it. He
looked great, he was polite, he did dishes, he took
out the trash, and he didn't see anything that made
him think that this.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Was kind of brewing under the surface and that he's totally.
Speaker 5 (03:09):
Shocked something happened with Nick his actions at Conan O'Brien's
Christmas party, how strange he was acting, the fact they
eventually asked him to leave because.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Of its something I mean, I mean, it definitely sounds
like he had obviously started using drugs again. Whether or
not that happened, you know, right after this friend was
visiting and so he was kind of going up. But
with people who are addicted like that, one thing can
just send them spiraling again unfortunately. Arrowing video shows an
Australian couple heroically trying to take down one of the
(03:41):
terrorists during the Bondei Beach attack. Sixty nine year old
Boris German and his wife sixty one year old Sophia
spotted the terrorist getting out of his car with an
ISIS flag on it. He was holding a rifle and
on dash cam footage you can see the man tackling
the terrorist and wrestling the gun away from him as
his wife runs to help. He points the gun at
(04:01):
the terrorist and unfortunately he was able to get another
rifle out of the car and he ended up shooting
and killing the man and his wife. Drone video shows
the couple lying on the ground, holding each other where
they died. This couple just shy of their thirty fifth
wedding anniversary.
Speaker 5 (04:21):
I mean, I can't imagine being in that situation and
having the guts to do what they say.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
That's what I was thinking.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
To an elderly couple who just sprung into action to
try to save a bunch of other people, and their
family released a statement saying, well, nothing can lessen the
pain of losing Boris and Sophia. We feel an overwhelming
sense of pride in their bravery and selflessness.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
This encapsulates who they were.
Speaker 5 (04:45):
I mean, the amount of heroes who were there, this couple,
the man who tackled the father and got the gun
away from him. There was another civilian who tried to
disarm one of the gunmen. He was actually mistakenly shot
by police in the confusion over everything that was going on.
But you had a lot of people who they saw
what was going down and they.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Tried to help.
Speaker 6 (05:07):
Yeah.

be vertical, just like on the phone app, and they're
going to curate channels like sports, music, travel, and other interests.

skyrocketing electricity costs, and a new online petition demanding change
has already racked up over sixteen thousand signatures. The change
dot org petition accuses TICO of price gouging and says
costs have gone up exponentially while the state's median income
(07:03):
has only seen a slight increase. The person who wrote
the petition said many families like ours struggle to manage
household expenses as it is, and the sudden hike and
energy costs by Tico has pushed us to the brink.
The comment section is filled with people writing about how
much their power bills have gone up, and then there's
actually a video section where people can upload videos. So
(07:27):
this is just from the first three videos on this petition.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
So last year, my bill came in at two seventy five.
I am paying five hundred dollars a month. I can't
even get help in my cancer, let alone pay the
electric bill. Come on, Desantas, do something about this.
Speaker 6 (07:44):
My name is David Carmichael. I live in Winterhaven, Florida.
My power bill has risen from four hundred dollars a
month to six hundred and sixty five dollars in the
last three and a half years. I have no recourse
but to pay the power bill. However, that's more than
a forty percent increase. I think that that is intentionally
(08:04):
created by TICO.
Speaker 7 (08:06):
I live in a four hundred and fifty square foot
trailer and my light bill runs close to two hundred
dollars now, wow, which is insane because I'm never home.
I'm always at work and I maybe run one light
when I'm home.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
And there are a whole bunch of videos and hundreds
of comments on this petition.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
Yeah, people are fed up.
Speaker 5 (08:25):
Yeah, and that's that's Tico. We've talked about Duke, We've
talked about FPL.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (08:30):
I mean, it's every single one of them. They just
keep jacking up the rates. I know we had some
storms recently and that has an impact, but you know, Tiko,
there was a recent Now it's just found the average
bill eighty two percent higher than it was five years ago.
Come on, my.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Tico bill in my new house, which is twice the
size as my other house, was only eighty bucks.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
I just have a feeling
Speaker 1 (08:52):
That there's like an error, and yeah, I'm gonna get
hit with like billy it's right,
