Speaker 1 (00:00):
A Navy veteran who says former Congressman George Santos stole
thousands of dollars meant for his dying dog, went on
SNBC and ripped President Trump for commuting his sentence.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Listen to this.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
I still haven't eaten since I heard that. That was
three days ago. I was really just sick to my
stomach for the President of the United States to stick
me in the gut with a knife, and every other
veteran and every other military member to get a knife
in the gut. He also knifed Holocaust victims, Holocaust survivors,
and nine to eleven survivors and victims in the gut.
(00:33):
By letting this guy out this early, he should have
done at least half of his seven years. This is disgraceful,
President Trump. This is another thing in the long line
of his disrespect for our military and our veterans.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
He also said the President is a walking middle finger
to veterans. Now, this is the guy who said George
Santos raised three thousand dollars on a GoFundMe back in
twenty sixteen for his dying service dog, and instead of
giving him the money, he kept the money and then
the dog ended up dying. Now he's never been charged,
George Santos hasn't been charged for anything, you know, having
(01:08):
to do with what he did to this guy. Now,
days after commuting that sentence, the President went on truth
social bragging about how his administration and the FBI have
brought back law and order and how tough they are
on crime, which isn't sitting well with people either.
Speaker 4 (01:21):
No, look, I don't know why this one really pisses
me off. I haven't really agreed with any of the
pardons or commutations that have been given out going back
to Biden, you know, pardoning his whole family, and then
people who he said were non violent drug offenders who
turned out to have really violent pass and then Trump with,
(01:41):
you know, the pardons for people who on January sixth
were literally beating law enforcement officers. To this one, George Santos, like,
you know, the quizzlies Like it's just enough already, I mean,
just making a mockery of our justice system here. And
then there's a report from TMZ that he's considering commuting
(02:01):
the sentence of Diddy.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
No, he cannot do this, There's.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
I would be I would be surprised if he did that,
but I'd be less shocked following his decision to commute
the sentence for George Santos, which didn't make any sense
to me either, because nobody was clamoring for it. Who
was clamoring for George Santos to get out of prisonsides
George Santos besides him? I mean New York Republicans warrant.
They know how bad the guy is. I mean, got
(02:28):
kicked out of Congress. So I just don't get I mean,
if he goes down that road, what's the constituency for Didty?
Speaker 5 (02:35):
You know?
Speaker 2 (02:35):
I h who was defending Didty?
Speaker 6 (02:38):
Seriously. We'll see what happens, but hopefully he doesn't do that.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
We're learning more about how a five year old girl
fell off the Disney Dream cruise ship.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Back in June.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Her father dove in and saved her, and then the
cruise ship rescue boat had to come and see both
of them. So the police report stated that the little
girl lost her balance while standing in front of an
open porthole and that's how she Fellies now say her
mother encouraged her to get up onto the railing in
front of that porthole to pose for a picture as
(03:08):
they were walking by, and the little girl got up
there and that's.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
When she fell. And then the mom.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Realized, you know, as her daughter just kept following and
the porthole didn't have glass in it, so the dad
jumped in. Criminal charges were recommended against the mother, but
the state Attorney's office determined that the incident didn't equate
to criminal culpable negligence, so they didn't end up filing
any charges. They didn't think they'd be able to get
a conviction. Both parents were questioned by the Broward County
(03:35):
Sheriff's Department. Their stories matched up, they matched up to
security footage, so they realized that this was probably just
a really honest, stupid mistake that the parents made.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
Yeah, the mother, she just wanted that picture to post
on social media and her daughter ended up being put
in a dangerous situation. And the mom said that she
just assumed, yeah the PORTHOLEE what happened?
Speaker 1 (03:56):
Remember that, I think a little girl was like not
even two years old yet and fell off the back
because she was seated up on a railing.
Speaker 6 (04:03):
Yeah, that's right with her grandfather.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Yeah, they propped her up there. Yeah, when I was
on my cruises. I noticed that there are some open
windows that you look and you're like, oh, that looks dangerous,
and you can't tell there's no glass there unless you're
paying attention.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
Now, the detective in the case said that, you know,
when he looked at the window, he immediately saw that
it was, you know, an open air and all of that.
The mom, she said that she felt like there should
be coverings on the window, adding that quote Disney is
responsible for what occurred.
Speaker 6 (04:32):
Yeah, freaking said that.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Yeah, Well, I mean, because this has happened a couple
of times, I think cruise ships probably need to look
around and maybe do something so that there's not open
windows that kids could easily fall out at.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
Right, or if you have a couple of those portholes,
like have a sign maybe up there. It's just ridiculous
that you have to do that. But I mean, this
is why, right.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Exactly the o'calla woman who killed her neighbor in the
summer of twenty twenty three, is now the subject of
a new Netflix documentary, The Perfect Neighbor Or tells the
story of Susan Lawrence, who was convicted of manslaughter after
she shot her neighbor A J. Chantrell owens, a mother
of four, over a dispute about kids playing in her yard.
(05:13):
The documentary shows police bodycam footage from numerous incidents leading
up to the conflict that eventually led to the shooting.
So here's some of the trailer.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
And then.
Speaker 6 (05:36):
Okay, I'm like the perfect favor.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Yeah, so that was the woman saying I'm like the
perfect neighbor. And it really does show if you watch
the trailer, it's about two minutes long. It really does
show through all that bodycam footage, the history of how
this woman would just call nine to one one, yeah,
constantly over the kids playing in the yard. And then
they would have the police come out to the neighborhood
(06:04):
and they would show the police talking to the kids,
talking to the other neighbors, and you really get a
picture of what a psycho, miserable woman this was. And
this kind of just escalated over time to the point
where she killed this mom who came to the door.
Does say, hey, step yelling at my kids.
Speaker 4 (06:19):
Yeah, it was a big story. You had a white woman,
black family. Yes, she blew the mom away through the door,
never even opened it, just shot her right through the door.
Speaker 6 (06:28):
Then she claimed stand your ground.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
Then there was controversy that the charges brought against her
were manslaughter instead of second degree murder. But and at
the time I was critical of that. But she's in
jail for in prison for twenty five years.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
So yes, and she's old, so she'll die in prison.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
During the press conference with the Australian Prime Minister yesterday,
President Trump scolded a cameraman who bumped into a mirror.
Speaker 5 (06:53):
The best equipment to you in the world by far,
And oh, you got to what shed? What shed? You're
not allowed to break that. That mirror is four hundred
years old. The camera just hit the mirror. Yeah, I
just moved it up here special from the vaults. And
the first thing that happens, a camera hits. Hard to believe,
isn't it hard to believe that these are the problems
(07:16):
in life? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (07:17):
So the meeting was held in the Cabinet Room, one
of the many rooms.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
In the White House.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
He's been redecorating, and we know how he is about decorating,
and yeah, he was not.
Speaker 6 (07:28):
No, can't go messing up his new decorations. Are you
kidding me? Especially like a member of the media, I.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
Mean, come out, Oh yeah, we can't have the fake
news right breaking a four hundred year old mirror.
Speaker 6 (07:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
We're going to talk to our White House correspondent John
Decker later in the show, and I want to know
if he was in the room in the room when
that happened.
Speaker 6 (07:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
The East Wing of the White House is now under
construction to make way for President Trump's new two hundred
and fifty million dollar ballroom. Pictures and videos show the demolition,
and it's actually kind of scary looking because you just
the whole side of that East Wing being torn down
and destroyed. I shared a video on our ex at
(08:07):
Ryan Gorman Show if you want to check it out.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
So the entrance that visitors to the.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
White House have used for decades is now just gone.
And then windows facing the Treasury Department are smashed, the
doors are falling off hinges. There's a big hole in
the former White House Calligraphy office. So the East Wing
was built in nineteen forty two. It was actually one
of the newer parts of the White House. And it's
not clear how much of that part of the building
(08:32):
is going to be demolished or what's going to remain
as part of the plan for the new ballroom. But
Trump said he's building it, and he's doing it.
Speaker 6 (08:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
So the ballroom's going to be like an extension that
they're going to put on, almost like you know if
you have a house and you try to extend it
with like an extra bedroom or something like that.
Speaker 6 (08:49):
Yeah, only this, it's going.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
To be a two hundred and fifty million dollars golden
crusted ballroom.
Speaker 6 (08:54):
Yeah. So he's doing that.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
And look, I think the ballroom is actually a pretty
good good idea.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
Is a good idea because he's pointed out that they
just don't have the space at the White House to
host big function right right.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
I've not been as big of a fan of the
pavers over the Rose Garden.
Speaker 6 (09:12):
I don't think that's going to stick. I think the next.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Unless people are going to rip those up and put
grass back in there.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
Yeah yeah, unless it's like you know, JD Vance or something,
then he's not going to be able to He's gonna
have to keep it. But I think that is eventually
going to go. But the ballroom, that's going to be
a legacy thing for Trump.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Oh yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 4 (09:28):
And when was the last time we end an addition
like that on the on the White House? What he
wants The Ryan Gorman Show five to nine every weekday
