Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let's go back to the hotline and bring in our
White House correspondent John Dekker. Now, so, John, these cabinet
meetings pretty infrequent during the Biden administration. They happened quite
a bit now during this latest Trump administration. And they're
interesting because there's a lot of back and forth and
there's a lot of time for questions to be asked.

(00:21):
Sifting through everything that unfolded at the cabinet meeting yesterday,
what were some of the most notable moments.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Well, it was a two hour cabinet meeting, a long
one for sure. I always ask the cabinet officials. I
speak to a lot of them, a lot of the
members of a lot of members of the President's cabinet.
After the meeting concludes, Ryan, I say, do you prepare
for those meetings? I mean, do you just you know,
go to the bathroom even you know, given that you're
in there for so long. And they said, absolutely, I
eat something, ta take care of business, and then I

(00:51):
you know, I sit and I wait to tell what's
happened in my department. But yeah, this was the ninth
cabinet meeting for the president of the year, his final
one of the year. He has one one a month
and he lets the press in there. So that's pretty great,
you know, for all of us and for the public
as well. I think a number of takeaways. The President
talked about all the accomplishments that he said took place
during the course of his first year back in office

(01:13):
for his second term, and he and Secretary Pete Hegseth
also answered a number of questions regarding that drug boat
strike that happened on September the second. We got more
clarification from Secretary heggset about what his role was. He
indicated for the second strike. He wasn't even in the room.
Of course, that is being investigated by both the Senate

(01:34):
and the House Armed Services Committee, and perhaps they will
interview Pete haig Seth under oath, and hopefully it's a
public setting, you know when that occurs.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Yeah, there was something else that I thought was interesting
involving Pete haig st The name plate in front of him. Yes,
somebody screwed up and it had two SS's for Secretary
of War.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
So we'll type all.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
The yet quality control.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Yeah that I look at that for you, the important
John Secretary, I catch the important details.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Uh Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
But but that moment that you that you noted, you
know Hegseth saying that that he had left the room,
and and really it just it continues to be put
on Admiral Frank Bradley as the one who ordered the
vessel to be finished off, ordered that second strike, and

(02:29):
it did feel like there was more distancing that the
War Secretary was doing between himself and the admiral.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Yeah, we've heard different explanations about what happened back on
September the second. You know, Pete Hegseth the day after
September the third went on Fox News and he said
he was there for the entirety watching it on video
from a drone, uh a feed that was given back
to the situation room. But now we hear something very

(02:57):
different from Secretary Hegseeth. As you met. Admiral Bradley is
the person who the administration says was the sole point
person involved in ordering that second strike. He is actually,
if you haven't reported on this yet, he is actually
briefing senators on the Senate Armed Services Committee tomorrow. That's
a briefing that is behind closed doors. It's a classified briefing,

(03:19):
but you know, that will be one in which he'll
be sworn in under oath and they'll get a full
read about what happened on September the second when initially
nine fatalities out of eleven, and then that second strike
that killed the remaining two survivors from that alleged drug bot.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Yeah, tomorrow is going to be a big day for
the Pentagon because that redacted, unclassified version of the internal
review into Signal Gate is supposed to be released publicly tomorrow.
So we'll have a lot to talk about when it
comes to Pete Hegsath and the Pentagon. Our White House
correspondent John Decor with us this morning. John, thanks so

(03:57):
much for the update. Appreciate it. Thank you, bye bye,
and don't forget. You can listen to John Decker's podcast,
The White House Briefing Room Podcast for more on your
iHeartRadio app. And I do want to know one other
moment during the cabinet meeting that I thought was interesting.
A Homeland Security Secretary Christine Nome.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
She said this, sure you made.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
It through hurricane season without a hurricane, and so a mom.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
You ket the hurricanes away, So appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
That was part of that time when they were all
praising President Trump for hiss accomplishment.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
It's nauseating to listen to. It's just funny.

Speaker 5 (04:36):
It's like, yeah, I just kind of had it on
while I was doing some other work, and it's like
every couple of minutes, it's like the brown nosing. You know,
it's such an honor to work with you, and you're
so amazing.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Yeah, it's a lot, but it's like.

Speaker 5 (04:46):
They prepare that statement, like they all put it together
before they go in there writing.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
You know, people were laughing at that.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
But the fact of the matter is since President Trump
renamed at the Gulf of America, yeah, there haven't been
any hurricanes.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Credit where credit is due.

Speaker 5 (05:02):
Was President Trump dozing off during his cabinet meeting yesterday?
Liberal reporters and influencers were all over social media posting
clips that appeared to show him with his eyes closed
as cabinet members were speaking. One guy posted a series
of clips saying Trump's eyes are closing and he's dozing off,
but he still has enough in the tank to jerk
awake every few seconds.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
He also called him Dozy Dawn.

Speaker 5 (05:27):
Another shared a clip and it said in all caps,
breaking Trump is sleeping and another breaking this was one
pm in the afternoon, he should not be president. With
the clip of him again appearing to be asleep, somebody
else called him the lowest energy president in history.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Okay, So to me, I'm watching these clips and I'm like,
one o'clock a meeting. It's a long meeting, a lot
of people talking. Yeah, very relatable. We've all been there.
And I saw the one clip it was Marco Rubio talking. Yeah,
come on, you can understand if Trump was dozing off.

Speaker 5 (06:02):
Well, but I wouldn't be surprised if other people in
the room were falling asleep and Trump was rambling on,
because there were some points where he was just going
off and just talking and talking one thing to another.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
I'm like, dude, Yeah, those cabinet meetings, which seem to
not exist when Biden was president, they are, I think
our White House correspondent John Decker told us just a
little while ago, like two hour affairs.

Speaker 5 (06:25):
Yeah, where people like prepare to go into the room
they got to the bathroom. I feel bad for the
reporters because they don't have a stand up that.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Oh my gosh, I would lose it. I pass out.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
It's a long afternoon for him.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
Republican Matt Van Apps won the Tennessee seven district special election,
keeping the deep red seat in GOP hands. He defeated
Democrat Afton Bain, who did manage to outperform past Democratic
margins by quite a bit. I'm a little surprised that
Bain's message didn't resonate more with voters.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
The oppressos of Jederation who we've kept you down with
myths of opportunity, and we give it back to you.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
With the people.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
That's a different Bane, but that would have been a
good message for her.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
Two years.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Turn out really high, especially for you a post Thanksgiving
special election, and came at a weird time it approached
midterm levels. Bane boosted Democratic numbers by double digits compared
to twenty twenty four, but again not enough. Lost by
about nine percentage points. The House majority pack called the result,

(07:36):
despite the fact Republican one five alarm fire for Republicans
heading into twenty twenty six.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
So this is what the win does.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
It expands the GOP House majority to two twenty to
two thirteen, so a little bit more room.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
For House Republicans at the moment.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
It's not gonna last very long because You've got Marjorie
Taylor Green, She's gonna be gone on January sixth, so
that brings it down to two nineteen to two thirteen.
And then you have on January thirty first a Texas
special election, and then in April a New Jersey special election,
So that margin is going to stay really really tight.
In terms of what it means for twenty twenty six,

(08:13):
I think we're seeing a trend. Democrats are really energized.
Not surprising, We've seen it before. When Trump's on the ballot,
typically Republicans do better than when he's not on the ballot,
and you've got Democrats, they just they want to do
something to push back against Trump, so they turn out
in pretty big numbers. I think this means a lot

(08:33):
less for Florida because, as we've seen in the past,
Florida's got kind of like a red wall that's prevented
it from dealing with the same issues that other states.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Have dealt with during blue waves.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
But I would expect, you know, if everything continues as is,
the Democrats probably do pretty well in the twenty twenty
six midterms and they'll maybe retake the House. And now
let's bring in our national correspondent Rory O'Neil, who supports
brought to you by Mark Spain real Estate.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
So Rory.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
Yesterday and Trump announced a new initiative, Trump Accounts.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
What exactly are they? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (09:07):
Subtle, right, Yeah, But the Trump accounts actually were part
of the Big beautiful Bill, and essentially they set aside
the savings accounts that will during President Trump's term in office.
His second term will include a one thousand dollars bit
of seed money to get these accounts established and underway.
And essentially a newborn can get the account now and

(09:28):
then tap into it when they turn eighteen years old
and use that money to either pay for college, to
start a business, even as a down payment for a home.
And what we also got yesterday was the announcement by
the Dell family, the computer folks, that they are kicking
in six point five billion dollars of their own money. Wow,
that will essentially add about two hundred and fifty bucks

(09:48):
to each of these accounts.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
I tell you what, with the Dell family pledging that
kind of money, I'm surprised they didn't demand may be called.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
Dell accounts, They've got to be called Trump accounts.

Speaker 5 (09:58):
Yeah, but calling it all I think when I think
Trump accounts is his truth social account.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
Like that's yeah popping into my head.

Speaker 5 (10:03):
When we say Trump accounts, I'm thinking about his true social.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Posts, right, right, this is going to be for who
kids born now or kids recently born?

Speaker 3 (10:15):
Who qualifies for this?

Speaker 6 (10:17):
Right, So this is going to be for all kids essentially,
But the thousand dollars seed money is only for kids
born during the second Trump administration. So from January of
this year through December of twenty twenty eight, they're the
ones who qualify for the thousand dollars.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
All of them.

Speaker 6 (10:33):
Will you know, if you're under ten, if you're living
in certain zip codes, if your household incomes one hundred
and fifty thousand dollars, all of those children will qualify
for that extra two hundred and fifty bucks from the Dells.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Now, what they're hoping is that.

Speaker 6 (10:46):
Over time, let's say you're in your office and you
wore your wife or whatever having a baby, that your
boss will say, all, congratulations, all I'm going to donate
the company will donate five hundred dollars to your kid's
account or whatever it may be, to get grandparents coin.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
That's hilarious, right, when you see companies doing that.

Speaker 5 (11:06):
At the press conference yesterday, listening to the Dell's speak,
that was one of the things he said was that
there's all these other businesses that are lined up ready
to do this. Yeah, they want to they want to
invest in America's future too.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Yeah, we see that all the time, companies just handing
out five hundred bucks at a clip.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
Right.

Speaker 6 (11:22):
Well, yeah, we're gonna get T shirts in various sizes.
Here's eight T shirts from Triple X to anyway. So
they're all going to start next year. July fourth of
next year is when the accounts start. But you can
find information on them now and sign up to get
email updates at Trump Accounts dot gov.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
Yeah, Trump Accounts the neest dot go.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
All you have to do is fill out I r
S Form forty five forty seven President. Yes, Yes, that's real.

Speaker 4 (11:55):
So you made that up.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
So that's real. That's the form.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
His imprint is all over these, down to the form number.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
Yeah, so he just got to kill that out. Must
be named Donald Jones another than to qualify.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Yeah, and again I'm just gonna mention this in passing
another benefit for people with kids.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
Yeah, I'm really missing out here.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
Rory O'Neil, our national correspondent with us this morning.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
Rory, thanks so much. Thanks Ryan.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
So we have gotten quite a bit of feedback on
a few stories that we've covered recently. One of them
was something that we talked about yesterday. Mount Dora Police
ran a targeted enforcement at Walmart and Target to check
for handicap parking permit abuse. Officers conducted more than eighty
traffic stops over several days and recovered over thirty permits

(12:51):
that were being used illegally.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
That's just in Mount Dora.

Speaker 4 (12:54):
Yeah, and that's almost half.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (12:56):
So we got a lot of comments on this.

Speaker 5 (12:57):
Actually, one person said, there are not enough hands cap
people in this world to use all the spots that
we are mandated by a lot of have.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
It's interesting some places have like a ton of spots
and some it's only one or two.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (13:11):
And then somebody said people kind of took aim at
you because of your comments about now in your apartment
complex you can see somebody walking. So that was the
majority of the comments.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
Oh really, there was there's a woman in my apartment
complex who parks in a handicap spotches.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
A younger woman and uh, look.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
There could be an issue that she's dealing with some
kind of health issue, but she seems to walk around
just fine.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
Fine.

Speaker 5 (13:36):
Yeah, somebody said, there are people who have heart conditions, pacemakers,
and things that you can't see. Another person said, my
dad is someone who may be a normal passing person
until he speaks. Disabilities look different un till he speaks.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
But isn't the question? Can he walk? But right?

Speaker 5 (13:56):
But he but he still might have a disability like
some type of other disability, like somebody posted in here
about somebody in her family who has liver failure needing
a spot like that because they get really tired. They walk,
so they can be tired, they can walk, but there's
something within them that it's difficult.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
For that sure, But a speaking issue.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
Well, maybe he had a stroke or something.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
Okay, Well yeah, if it impacts his ability to walk,
that that's what the handicapped parking spot is for those
who have trouble getting around.

Speaker 5 (14:27):
Right, But the trouble getting around could also be something
more like internal that you can't see, Like you can't
see that somebody has like a living casue.

Speaker 3 (14:36):
I don't believe this woman has anything, and to.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
Ask her and let's do it in that spot.

Speaker 1 (14:41):
And let me point out that while yes, there could
be all kinds of different issues, it could also be
that she's abusing the handicapped parking permit as we saw
in Mount Dora, that could be part of the problem.

Speaker 5 (14:52):
You have a good relationship with your apartment complex, why
don't you talk to him?

Speaker 1 (14:56):
I might just nark on her. Yeah, another story that
we covered rac only. They got a lot of reaction
on social media, and again you can follow us to
check out these clips of the show that we do
if you miss anything at Ryan Gorman Show and we're
on everything TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook X. A new bill
would ban the state from selling driver's license information. This

(15:17):
has apparently been going on for fifteen years. It's brought
in over four hundred ninety million dollars and like the
both of us, nobody knew this was going on.

Speaker 5 (15:26):
No, this video has gone I mean it's got thousands
of shares and comments, and somebody said, I'm pretty sure
they also sell business record information too, because I filed
an LLC with Sun Biz and that same week I
got all kinds of letters in the mail to.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
The LLC that they do.

Speaker 4 (15:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (15:43):
Absolutely, and then somebody else said, reaffirms my decision not
to be an organ donor.

Speaker 4 (15:48):
What are they going to do with that info?

Speaker 1 (15:50):
Yeah, I mean when it comes to the information they're selling,
it's everything names, addresses, birth dates, driver's license numbers, organ
donor status, yeah, emergency contact.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
Everything, all of it.

Speaker 5 (16:01):
Some people said that we need to file a class
action lawsuit because they've made but four hundred and ninety
three million dollars this. Yeah, think about how much that
is for each Floridian.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
Right.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
And this came as news to so many people who
saw that video online.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
I don't think was anybody in favor of it, No.

Speaker 5 (16:16):
Absolutely not. So people were saying this was a crime.
We need to find out who's responsible for this.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
Yeah, And we're going to have the lawmaker who's behind
this bill on the show tomorrow morning. So I cannot
wait to.

Speaker 4 (16:29):
Talk to her, looking forward to talking to me.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
You had to find out how she found out about
it and all of that. So again that'll be on
tomorrow morning show. Another quick story I want to get
to here to enforce a new tax rule. IRS agents
are now going to have to watch content on platforms
like OnlyFans. The issue has to do with the no
Tax on Tips deduction in the One Big Beautiful Bill,

(16:53):
which blocks tips earned from prostitution or pornographic activity. Now,
Congress didn't define what counts as pornographic, Yeah, so the
IRS has to figure it out on a case by
case basis. So that means the agents and sometimes tax
court judges are literally going to review videos to decide

(17:18):
if they cross the line. Oh my god, a tax
expert says, it will often come down to the agent's
own judgment. Sometimes, you know, it's clearly porn Sometimes it's
a little more debatable. And it's also apparently unclear where
the IRS is going to draw the line on content. So,
for example, can strippers claim the deduction if you're on
OnlyFans and you're just stripping, is that pornography?

Speaker 4 (17:42):
I don't think it is.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
No.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
No, And a lot of single moms stripping on OnlyFans
who might need that no tax on tips deal. So
one of those unintended consequences of the One Big Beautiful Bill.
I tell you what I know, it's it's tough to
be like an IRS agent. They're generally not very well liked.
But this gig, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (18:05):
Getting that assignment might not be so bad exactly.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
I could see a big rush among IRS agents to
try to take on that responsibility.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
I would think so.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
