Speaker 3 (00:09):
Free never sounded so good.

Speaker 4 (00:11):
One O three one Austin dot Com.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Just when you thought you knew everything you could possibly
know about the O. J. Simpson trial and murder of
Nicole and Brown, and Ron jd says, no, you don't, No,
you don't. There's a lot you don't know in the
new five part documentary that's out. Is it Netflix? It's Netflix.
It's actually a four part documentary.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
It is amazing.

Speaker 4 (00:36):
My wife and I just finished it the other night.
Oh my gosh, I mean really, I mean yeah, we
were all completely immersed on it. And you know, and
I especially you know, Sandy, you and I were getting
our radio careers going, and that's something you talked about
every day.

Speaker 5 (00:54):
Yeah, that's one of the things.

Speaker 6 (00:55):
You remember where you were when you heard the verdict
right or when the chase was hap like it was
not significant.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
I've got the ultimate where you were during the verdict story.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
By the way, I know I know this story. Save
it for the very end. Say it's great, it's a
great story. Who you were watching it with you won't
believe unbelievable. Yeah, you won't believe me.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
Okay, So the documentaries on Netflix, and it is so
worth watching. It is unbelievable. How many things never made
it into trial, incriminating things, incriminating evidence, evidence against Oj,

(01:36):
tons and tons and tons of evidence. It's just you're, you're,
you're going to be banging your head against the wall,
going how.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Did the prosecution screw up this case?

Speaker 4 (01:48):
This should have been so easy, it should have been
I mean, I'm trying to remember.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
But didn't they have his blood? Yes?

Speaker 6 (01:56):
Okay, so that I mean they hadn't one have been
criminating evidence. And it's still made you go, how did
they lose this?

Speaker 4 (02:01):
But you're saying it goes even farther than OJ's blood,
his footprints, the gloves, by the way, with the gloves,
they showed footage of him wearing those exact same gloves
that did not fit doing NFL coverage.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Same same gloves, the Bruto Molly shoes.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
Yeah they even had Yeah, they were these isotonor gloves.
An expert even said, yep, that's the same same style
and everything. Wow, Okay, that's a small thing in comparison. Oh,
when he was trying on the glove, you know, we
had on a latex glove.

Speaker 5 (02:36):
And would he go all the way on You'd never be.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Able to get a leather glove on over latex.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
That's very small in comparison to the things they found,
blood evidence all over the Bronco. Ron Goldman's blood samples,
we're in the Bronco.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
We never heard that, never heard that. That never made
it the trial.

Speaker 6 (03:00):
Judge decided it couldn't go to trial. Or is this
something we kind of find out during the documentary.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
Yeah, you'll find out a lot during the documentary. So
there was there was eyewitness accounts. So when oj went
to Lax that he took something wrapped in a cloth.
I guess maybe it was a cab or something that
took him. I'm trying to remember. And when before he

(03:26):
left he discarded something like who gets out of their
car at the airport and throws a big bundle of
something into the trash?

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Right?

Speaker 4 (03:34):
Yeah, so they think that's where the murder weapon went,
which they never have found right right, Wow.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
I'm trying to remember. What else. There was a lot
with Mark Furman.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
The painted him as a racist. Yeah, yeah, which he
probably is.

Speaker 6 (03:51):
But there is a discount evidence that he found, but
they were able to leverage that against him.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
I can't even remember all the incidents that they brought up,
and you're just going, how did that not come up
in the trial?

Speaker 3 (04:03):
How did that not come up? How did?

Speaker 1 (04:06):
I mean?

Speaker 6 (04:07):
Because you feel like that this is a case that
was so covered and so done that there's not any
way that we there's any new information to get. But
do you think they waited until after his death to
release all this?

Speaker 4 (04:20):
Maybe it's I might watch the whole thing again. It's
just like I, you know, maybe if we bring this
up again, I'll go back and take some notes to share.
But you should watch it. It's going to watch it
this weekend.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Yeah. The evidence is.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
Just again and again and again and again things that
just should have put him away. Undoubtedly.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Was there anything I've heard rumors and talks about, like
some of the Cole Brown's diaries that were in did
they did that come up?

Speaker 3 (04:53):
I don't recall that being a part of this series.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Okay, all right, well, now share everybody the story j
of where you were when you heard the verdict.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
This is fun, this is hysterical. All right.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
So I was working in Dallas on a big radio show.
The host of the show went to LA to be
outside the courtroom for the verdict. It was that big
of a deal. So he's there and I'm with something
that was scheduled. We used to take a lot of artists,
musicians and go to the children's hospital.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
We had one scheduled for that day.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
It was with the Backstreet Boys, who were brand new
on the scene. They were big, and so I go
and meet them at the children's hospital. They're going around
room to room singing a cappella to the kids, which
was really cool.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
Yeah, we used to do that kind of stuff a lot.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
And then we're like, because the verdict was right around
noon from what I recall, and we were like, we
were like, oh my gosh, we're going to get the
OJ verdict.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Like everyone watched that, right everyone.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
So we asked someone at the nurse station, you know, hey,
is there somewhere we can watch the OJ verdict And
they're like, yeah, you can go in there. And it
was it was a hospital room with the you know,
the crappy TV like they all have, and one big bed.
So I just we all just laid down in the

(06:23):
bed and watched it met and the Backstreet Boys.

Speaker 6 (06:28):
That part makes it sound like you're I was laying
in bed with the Backstreet Boys.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
Makes it sound like they were. They didn't.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
They didn't have their first big hit yet, so no one,
you know, It's not like I was going, oh my god,
I'm laying here with.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
The back Street Boys.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
I you, they have to remember everybody.

Speaker 5 (06:49):
I remember that.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
Like Churchia said earlier, everyone remembers where they were when
the OJ verdict happened.

Speaker 6 (06:55):
But their version is we were laying in bed with
some radio DJ from Dallas.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
No way they would remember my name, right, No way.
I don't know Brian, Brian Latrelle might. He's pretty pretty sharp.
AJ Mike.

Speaker 6 (07:08):
I'm not sure that would be hilarious if they were
being interviewed or like, you know, for the Anniverse or something,
and somehow that came up and they told that story.

Speaker 5 (07:17):
Oh my, that would be hilarious.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
By the way I looked it up real quick. There
were one hundred and fifty million people watched the O. J.
Simpson vertict live on television when it was announced October third,
nineteen ninety five. Just for some context, the population in
the United States at the time was two hundred and
sixty one million.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
Geez over almost everybody. Yes, wow, crazy, crazy, crazy. But anyway,
so though, it's worth watching the O. J. Simpson documentary.
It's on Netflix, right, yeah, on Netflix.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
It is.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
American Manhunt OJ Simpson. Yeah, there's so many pieces of evidence. Oh,
and there was there was a lot of corruption. I'll
give you an example. I just remember this. There there
was blood on the fence. OJ's blood on top of

(08:19):
a fence like a gate to go in and out
the back. But then they had evidence pictures right after
the murders, no blood on that fence. Yet two three
weeks later there was blood on the fence and that's
that was planted.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
Planted. Wow, so there.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
It is so weird because even though I still think
OJ did it and that if you if you care
what my opinion is, from watching the documentary, however, there
was police corruption to just try to help the case
at a lot of tainted evidence.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
Really.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
Yeah, all right, I'm gonna check that out, know what
I'm doing tonight. Yeah, I can't wait to hear just
what y'all think about it. It's just wow.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Speaking of things to watch, Tricia told me that there
is a sequel coming out to one of my all
time favorite movies.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
It's from the last ten years.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
I think I don't know how when the original came out,
but Trisa's gonna tell us.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
I know you stay with us.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
Trisha will tell us all about it coming up next
on Austin's eighty station What three point one. If you're
listening on the iHeartRadio app and you want to be
a part of the show, use the talk pack feature.
That's the red microphone in the top right hand corner.
Tap that and send us a message. You can send
us a message about anything you want. But if you
want a little guideline, something we would love for you
to do is introduce Tricia for the story we love.

(09:52):
Just tap the button. It'll count down to one zero.
Then you can record something like this, something that says
from the Hold Studios, here's Tricia. Delicia hit end and
we will magically get it. We'll play it on the air.
A sequel to one of my all time favorite movies
is going to be made, and I cannot wait to

(10:15):
Patricia tell you what it is. But just so you know,
it is not another Rocky movie. I'm the biggest Rocky
fan in the world. I've seen them all many, many, many,
many times, and the first one is the best one.
But I can I tell you real quick something that
showed up in my Instagram feed and I was a
tap away from buying, And I still may go back
and buy red the Red, White and Blue shorts, the

(10:35):
Apollo Creed War member now like the Hearts on Fire
shorts is what they're they're called, And I almost bought
a pair on Instagram, but I'm like, it'd be great
to have, but I don't look like a real idiot
walking around and these these.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
Well, that's what I'm saying. That's why I didn't get that.
Guys need a at home only pair of shorts. I swear. Yeah,
maybe I'll do it for that. Maybe I'll do it
for that.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
At a certain age, all guys have a favorite pair
of shorts that they come home and just put on.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
Yeah, and they're usually out of style, out.

Speaker 6 (11:15):
Of fashion, but we have them. Yeah, Sandy's are his
comfy pants. Yeah, little like just cotton pajama pants.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
But I don't know.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
Maybe I'll get them in time and I can wear
them to the Kite Festival down at Zilker this week
be the weird guy in the in the shorts. So
the movie that is being another sequels being made to
tell everyone trust.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
Okay, it's not actually a sequel.

Speaker 6 (11:40):
It's a second movie based upon the first movie, Once
upon a Time in Hollywood with that pit such a
good movie and Leonardo DiCaprio. Quentin Tarantino has written the
script for it. He's not going to direct it. David Fincher,
who directed Social Network, he's going to direct it. But
Brad Pitt is reprising his role which he went on

(12:02):
Oscar for as Cliff Booth, the stuntman, and DiCaprio's returning
as the star as maybe star Rick Dalton.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Did you tell me, babe? I did?

Speaker 4 (12:11):
Yeah, it was pretty amazing. I didn't know what to
expect when I saw it, not just like that's the
thing with Tarantino, like you just don't know where it's gonna.

Speaker 6 (12:20):
Go, right, and you either love it or you hate it,
is what I find with Tarantino.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
I remember watching it, watching it, watching going there's not
much violence in this for a Tarantino film, and then
then it happened. You were like, wah, wow, I see
that coming. I kind of saw it coming.

Speaker 6 (12:38):
But I feel like you and I watched it together, Sandy,
and we both were like, I did not expect this
to be so good, like I.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Saw in the movie theater in Dallas with my friend Marlin.

Speaker 5 (12:49):
Oh then maybe you and I watched it together later.
I don't know. I don't know, but it was funny.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Funniest take on that movie is Tricia's anger and just
hatred towards the actress the hitchhiker for jealousy.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Jealousy tell TB why so.

Speaker 6 (13:08):
There's a girl who is a hitchhiker that Brad Pitt's
character picks up and they spend a day together. I
think she even goes out to the Manson compound. But
at the end of the day she's she's never been
in a movie before.

Speaker 5 (13:21):
I don't even know if she's been in a movie since.

Speaker 6 (13:23):
But her main scenes were with Brad Pitt, and at
the end they just are making out in the car,
just going at it, and I was like, it's your
first movie.

Speaker 5 (13:30):
Oh my god, can you imagine if that's.

Speaker 6 (13:33):
Your first movie, where do you go from there?

Speaker 2 (13:38):
All right, your first movie, you get to make out
with Brad Pitt all.

Speaker 6 (13:42):
Over Brad Pitt I was like, yeah, it's like a
fantasy come true.

Speaker 5 (13:46):
I'd be like, and I quit.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
Right, when's movie out? Do you know? Zie?

Speaker 6 (13:50):
And said they're saying shooting could start late summer, So
probably Christian's written I don't know, but I'm going to
see it and please let there be a flame rower
in it again at the end with DiCaprio round the
pool with the flamethrower.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
Unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
Yeah, at first I didn't love how he would twist history,
but now you learn to appreciate it. Yeah, it's like,
this is just my take on it, and it's fantasy.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Right, But the whole scene with Bruce Lee in it,
that's classic.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
Oh again, the Lee family was very upset about that. Yeah,
I was portrayed.

Speaker 4 (14:27):
And then it's it's not it's loosely, loosely based on reality, right.
And they never even said the name, right, or did
they maybe?

Speaker 3 (14:37):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
It was definitely implied at least. Yeah, yeah, and doesn't
have a name. That's my last question.

Speaker 5 (14:42):
Nope, nope, not yet.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
All right, we'll do this again tomorrow from seven until
eight o'clock. If you just joined us, you can always
stay caught up by grabbing the podcast version of it,
search JB and Sandy on the iHeartRadio app. And again
one more time. We'd love you guys to help us
out with some introductions for the story. We love use
the talkback feature on the iHeartRadio app and just record
something like from the Lester Holt studios. Here's Tricia, Delicia.

(15:07):
That's all you gotta do, and then we'll use it
before Tricia does the story.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
We love.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
Tricia loves Leicester Holt. She's sad he's retiring and so
we've made page to him right. So if you guys
can help us out with that, we would appreciate it.
This is Austin's eighties station, one oh three point one
