Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, it's Sandy. And before we get to today's show,
just going to let you know that the JB and
Sandy Hour is now from seven until eight o'clock Monday
through Friday. That's seven until eight o'clock Monday through Friday.
And don't forget you can use your smart speaker to listen.
We've made it easier. All you have to do is
say play one three to one Austin. Something that Austin
got really excited to host for the last two years

(00:23):
is not happening this year. We're going to tell you
about that in just a second. Thanks for being with us. Hey, guys,
real quick, you know the Super Bowl was kind of
a dud this year. The commercials were not all that great.
But can I tell you two things. I saw the
commercials and actually makes me wanted to try it because
I'm curious, and I'll actually buy one. The poppy soda.

(00:45):
Did you see the commercials for that? I just want
to try something different. That's And then the cold foam
from coffee Mate that you put into your coffee. It
looks like it comes out of a whip cream can
and you put it on. Did you guys see that one?

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Do you put it on just the top.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Yeah, you just put on the top of your coffee. Yeah, huh.
I don't know why I want to try that other
than it just looks fun to squirt it out of
the bottle.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Well, you just want to be more like a Starbucks
experience at home. Huh Right, yeah, you know little things
in there.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Yeah. I love the barista that can make like the
heart right in the middle of your coffee. Like, how
in the world you do that?

Speaker 3 (01:25):
You know that?

Speaker 4 (01:25):
You can look up online amazingly enough you can find
out it's just like a little one two, three dreat
Like they're easy little routines to make the design, which
is pretty cool. Really, you don't have to be a
super deeper artist. You just had to pour in the
right place and drag it in the right place. I
thought that was the kind of cool videos.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
I like it. What's Tellybody? What Austin is not going
to be hosting this year?

Speaker 4 (01:50):
Yeah, the twenty twenty five CMT Awards have been canceled
by the parent company, Paramount Global.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
They're going through a merger.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
I should say, they're just being paw So if everybody
will remember, we got the CMT Awards in twenty twenty three.
That was the first time they hadn't been in Nashville
in like twenty years, so it was a huge deal.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
We had it in twenty twenty three and last year.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
But now they're paused for twenty twenty five, canceled for.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Them, So they're going to be spending kind of a
spending freeze during the merger.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Yeah, I guess so, I guess that's what they're gonna do.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
But I mean, didn't it kind of feel like that
It really put Austin on the map when that huge
award show was here for the first time and all
those huge stars came.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
It's weird to see to think in Austin like a
star studded room that you see in an award show
that we've all watched our whole lives. That is pretty
weird to think of that happening here.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Yeah, I think it's weird. I mean, that's one of
their biggest things. That award show is huge. For them
to pause it for a year is interesting. I mean,
it's like, can't you keep going business as usual? Are
in a merger? I don't know, I've never been part
of a merger, but you would think, you know, let's
just keep rolling right along. Unless it was just too expensive,

(03:07):
Like you said, they're cutting cost. I guess, yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Right, it was money.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
It wasn't the only award show that's paused. The MTV
europe Music Awards are paused in the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice
Awards Mexico.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Oh dang, I love that one.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
They're saying they're trying to refigure, reconfigure what the what
they might look like in the future, trying to make
them cooler, maybe more interesting. Maybe they feel people tuning out.
I don't know, but I really really liked like Jelly
Roll was in town, Laney Wilson, all those big people.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
It was fun.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Yeah, award shows, I just I just see a dwindling
interest in the award show, you know what I mean.
It's just even and no one talks about the Grammys,
the Oscars, no one. It's just I don't know it
is what it is. I don't even know when the
Oscars are. It's the JB and Sandy Show. Thanks for
being with us, if feel stick around. We got more

(04:04):
coming up. We got to talk a little bit about
how about Valentine's Day, especially when you're married for a
number of years how it kind of changes. But I
can also share with you the biggest home run I
ever hit with a chick was with Tricia on Valentine's Day, right,
And it's one guys, if you need a tip of
what to do, stick around. It's easy and inexpensive. Stay

(04:26):
with us. It's coming up on Austin's eighty station one
O three point one. Valentine's Day is on Friday, and
I'm going to tell you something that I did for
Tricia years ago that I still get kudos for. And
it's real simple to do and it's not very expensive.
But you might want to get on it now. That's
coming up in just a second. JB. Your household. You
guys been married for twenty six years. Valentine's Day is

(04:49):
not the same as it was twenty five years ago,
is it?

Speaker 2 (04:53):
No, it's not. And this I can tell you why.
And it's part of the reason. Well, I think in general,
when you've been together that long, it's like, you know,
here's some card in the chocolate and a hug and
a kiss, and I appreciate you and all that, and
you move on. But it's and this is gonna sound

(05:14):
kind of arrogant, but I do special stuff all the time.
So Valentine, So I cooked dinner probably five nights a weet.
When we've gotten to a point when my wife and
I eat out, we're like, eh, I like it eating
at home and then having a nicer bottle of wine
for half the price, right, you know. And I so

(05:35):
I just I brought home some flowers the other day,
just for no reason. I'll leave a card in her
car periodically for no reason.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
Nice, you know.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
So it's just not as special of a day. So
what we tend to do is buy things for the
house and then just wrap them all up into all
those holidays. So this past year was a big year
because we we had the built the backyard sauna and
cold plunge and all that, and so we were like
Merry Christmas, Happy Valentine's Day, Happy Birthday. Like we do

(06:06):
that all the time, Like we do things for the
house and just sort of clump it into the presence
for the year. We definitely wouldn't buy by presents, but
we'll still swap cards. And you know, she knows I
have a I know she's a sucker for any kind
of milk chocolate, and she knows I'm a sucker for
any kind of GOMMI candy, So that'll be a little.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
Swap nice when y'all exchange cards, do y'all do, like
I love you so much?

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Kind of cards?

Speaker 1 (06:34):
Do you do?

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Dirty cards? No?

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Dirty? I know we always we both do blank cards
because the messaging cards just doesn't work right. Yeah, And
I tend to gravitate to those super expensive three D
papyrus things that you weigh overspend on, you know, where
it's like a present, like actually attached to it, like

(06:57):
a little box, stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Tricia, Tricia gives the dirtiest cards.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
That's funny. Yeah, where do you find these dirty cards?

Speaker 4 (07:09):
There's a website called Crimson and Clover and not for children,
not for work.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
And they they, I mean, they're funny.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
They're flirty and dirty and funny. And I can't imagine
giving Sandy Ena. Yeah, he'd be like what is this?

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (07:30):
But what's gotten into you? If it was all mushy?

Speaker 3 (07:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (07:33):
And she never gives me the Valentine card in front
of our daughter anyone else that can want us know
what it says. Really, Yeah, it's got to be like
in private where no one else can see it. So
I always got.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
What will you guys do on Valentine's Day?

Speaker 1 (07:51):
Though, Uh, well nothing because I'm in Nebraska. Yeah, but
on a normal one, we kind of It's Tricia's birthday
is also on the tomorrow, so she would get her
birthday tomorrow and then Valentine's Day on Friday. And Tricia's
always been pretty cool about you can kind of combine
the two, you know.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
No, I've always been it has to be separate, but
it didn't have to be a big deal. You can't
be like on my birthday, happy Birthday and Happy Valentine's Day,
and then we just skip past it. Not that I
want it to be a big deal. I just want
them to be acknowledged separately. Does that make sense. It's
like people who had their birthdays on Christmas.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
That sucks.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
Here's something I'm very confused about because I remember, Tricia,
you told me once that you did not like the
chocolate candies on Valentine's Day, and now all of a sudden,
you do like the chocolate candies on Valentine Which one
is it?

Speaker 3 (08:42):
Yes, sir, right, how do you think like the chocolate candies?

Speaker 1 (08:45):
You told me once that you didn't like the chocolate.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Candies, right, But why do you think I do now?

Speaker 1 (08:50):
Because you said something the other day that you love them.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (08:54):
We were talking about conversation hearts. I love iced sugar cookies.
I love any kind of pie. The conversation hearts love that.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
I don't know. The chocolates.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Yeah, I'm not a big chocolate candy person.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
Okay, you must be thinking about your girlfriend, because it
was not me that said that.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
What's my girlfriend in San Antonio? What's her name?

Speaker 3 (09:14):
Wendy?

Speaker 1 (09:14):
Wendy JB.

Speaker 4 (09:16):
I had a full on, incredibly specific dream that Sandy
had a girlfriend named Wendy who lived in San Antonio
and he moved in with her. And the thing that
I was the most angry about was her apartment was
way cooler than our house.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
In the dream, I was like, I can't believe he
gets to live in such a cool place.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
And we got mad at him.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Yeah, and I was like, oh, by the way, you're
cheating with a girl named Wendy. It was very weird.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
Wasn't she really young and hot too?

Speaker 3 (09:49):
She was very young? Way definitely not okay, So.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
Wait, you get up and you're mad at Sandy. You're
tone about his dream and he's, let me guess, he
starts asking more questions, so tell me about it.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
The girl.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
When I'm trying to tell him about how cool the
apartment was, and he's like, how long was her hair?

Speaker 3 (10:04):
How she? And I had all the answers because it
was so specific. But yeah, you're right, it's the.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Only time I ever wanted the details, right, It's the
only time.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
Now you know, now you know how women feel.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
So guys, here's how I hit a home run with Tricia.
This is this is before we were.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
Married, right, probably. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
I ordered on Amazon a chocolate fountain. All right, They're
incredibly inexpensive. I mean, you would think a chocolate fountain
that would be really expensive. And then got like pound
cake and strawberries, and I guess grapes and cookies and
all kinds of stuff, And then got the chocolate bars.

(10:46):
It melted it and it just poured out of the
spout and I had it all set up for Tricia
when she came home, and I've never seen her more
happy in my life.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
It was the best. And I think Aaron would love that, JB.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
I think he can chocolate. But then she gets mad
at me afterward, you know, because it's there. Yeah, and
give me chocolate.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
I think you can even.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
Get those chocolate fountains at Hobby Lobby too, Just FYI,
I am doing it.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
I'm looking. There's one for eighty seven dollars. Twenty yeah,
twenty nine dollars. That's the best seller. Yep, yep, Oh
that's oh. I can have it delivered by five o'clock today. Yeah,
I'm telling you crazy.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
Yeah, it's crazy.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
Yeah, it was the best. It was so much fun.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
I'm not gonna that's a good idea.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
That a diamond bracelet here and there or a necklace
isn't great too. But I'm just telling you that was
one of my all time favorites.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
So wait, okay, you just buy like Hersh's milk chocolate
bars and just set them in there and then.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
Yep, you just break them up into pieces and put
it in there and it melts it and creates a
lava of chocolate.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
And then what are what are the good dipping items?

Speaker 1 (12:03):
Okay? Try so that's on you.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
Yeah, so pound cake or angel food cake cut up
in chunks. You're gonna watch strawberries, grapes, maybe cookies broken up.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
Those little see cookies.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
She likes.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
Yeah, oh yeah, but also get the get the skewers,
the bamboo skewers or metal skewers, so she can because
you poke. Yeah oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Just whatever she would like dipped in chocolate. Get that.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
Guaranteed she will show you her boobies if you give
her this, both of them, both of them.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Wow. Get some of the big marshmallows too.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Oh that's right. The marshmallows jump.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
Easy and inexpensive and really really effective, if you know
what I mean.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
I can't believe it. Twenty nine bucks. Yeah, who cares
if it works once at twenty nine.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
Right, we still have ours somewhere. It's probably once, probably
in storage somewhere.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
Anyway, always good that Valentine. Don't forget people. Valentine's Day
is on Friday. Chances are if you're going out to
dinner or whatever and you don't have a race reservation
by now, you are not gonna get one at any
decent restaurant in Austin. But you can still get your
chocolate fountain in time. Stay with us. More coming up
