But real quick, I am I have purposely not jumped
into TikTok.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
I just have it.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Well, there's a lot of reasons I didn't. I've read
the rules of TikTok and all everything that the Chinese
find out about you. But I finally have just given Actually,
one of the news shows that I watch said they
were on TikTok.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Damn.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
If they're on TikTok, I might to you know what
I mean? And so TikTok Live. I went down that
rabbit hole a little bit.
Speaker 4 (00:44):
What did you do?
Speaker 3 (00:45):
Here's my experience.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
And I haven't really been on TikTok long enough for
it to algorithm.
Speaker 4 (00:50):
Yeah, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
I don't think I have. Here's my observation on TikTok.
A lot of young girls putting on makeup. Yes, they're
just reaming live while they're doing their their makeup, right.
Speaker 4 (01:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
A lot of older couples sitting next to each other
talking about insurance things, which.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
Is really really weird.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
A lot of people, a lot of just hype, people
of go follow me, now, follow me now, I've got
a goal of ten people?
Speaker 3 (01:22):
Ten people?
Speaker 5 (01:23):
What?
Speaker 3 (01:23):
Well, oh, there's there's Jerry. Jerry, you're the MVP.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
A lot of that, a lot of just I want
to I would want to ask these people, why are
you doing this?
Speaker 4 (01:34):
What's the goal here of your of your have a
real job?
Speaker 1 (01:39):
I mean, are you making any money with three hundred
people watching you on TikTok live?
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Well?
Speaker 2 (01:45):
I mean is aren't they just hoping that it gets
bigger and bigger and bigger?
Speaker 3 (01:48):
I guess. I mean, but can you just put makeup on?
And then?
Speaker 4 (01:54):
Yes? Absolutely?
Speaker 2 (01:57):
Their makeup tutorials, people playing makeup across all of the
social spectrums and in all ages. There's a woman who
pops up in mind who for women and make up
for women over fifty And I don't care about makeup,
but I sit there and I watch it. There's something
that just kind of hooks you in and you're mesmerized
by it.
Speaker 6 (02:16):
There's also this the blatant sexuality of it. Yep, right, yeah,
I saw there's a lot of and I'm assuming this
is on TikTok. I see this on Instagram.
Speaker 5 (02:27):
I'm not on TikTok, but a lot of women who
are trying on clothes, but they give you just enough
of a peak of them in their underwear. Yeah, it's like, okay,
so you have eight hundred thousand followers. How many of
them are just dudes perven out on you versus women
who actually like the outfits.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
They're guys that are too cheap to subscribe to brawsers.
This guy was so blatant in this with his wife
or its girlfriend, I don't know. He was standing at
the at the end at the front end of an
above ground pool, okay, and he's slinging apple card plays.
(03:06):
In the background at the other end of the pool
is his wife, his girlfriend, and his daughter I don't know,
in a thong laying over the edge of the above
ground pool. So all in the background is the thonged booty. Yeah,
in the background. I'm like, God, isn't.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
That to keep it?
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Don't you not get credit on your video and lists
people watch it for a certain length of time.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
That's all that was.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Yeah, just blatant though, But I just I'm like, yes,
so much of that.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Yeah, that's what that platforms turned into. Right, Although I
did see an amazing jump rupper. I mean this girl
could skip a rope random, that was pretty cool. I've
never seen that before I watched her. Yeah, yeah, she
was amazing the thing she could do with it.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
But I mean, would you have ever been sitting at
your computer and gone, I'm gonna look up somebody jump
rubber like see it get you?
Speaker 3 (03:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (03:59):
Like it got me, It sucked me in.

Thank you who ever did that.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
That's mister Felix.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Oh, that's mister Felix. I should have known I should
have recognized his voice, all right. So, like I said earlier,
it feels like we've been talking about the tech. This
is Chili Parlor a lot lately. I have not even
thought about it since, like my twenties, just kind of
one of those places that are there. I ended up
going in having dinner there with my family who was
in from out of town just this past Sunday night.
It is exactly the same as it was when I
(05:15):
went there in my twenties.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
Inside now, right inside and out.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Nothing has been updated.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
I think.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
Also my cousin went to the ladies room and she's like,
just so you know, the toilet seed.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
Is a piece of plywood. It is not being updated
at all.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
But then I had an article saying that the owner,
Scott Zeblin Zublin with the Bee, he was the owner,
and they're calling him the savior of the Texas Chili
Parlor because he bought it back I don't know, back
when they weren't paying their rent or their taxes on it.
He saved it, bought it and restored it back to
what it was supposed to be. He died on June seventh.
(05:56):
He was sixty seven when he died. I don't know
what that means happened to the Texas Charlie Polar Chili
Parlor now, But for those who don't know, it's a
very much hole in the wall restaurant near the state
Capitol that for decades attracted all the politicians, the lobbyists,
the tourists.
Speaker 5 (06:11):
That it was like pretty saying I think, and I'm
too young to have been on that side of it,
you know, like in the eighties it must have been
like the like one of the go to happy hours
or something. Oh yeah, because I got as I got older,
you know, I would people would always ask me, oh,
did you hang out to Texas Chili Parlor? And I'm like,
(06:32):
what are you talking about?
Speaker 4 (06:35):
But I think it was like a place to see
and be seen in the eighties.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Oh yeah, I think there in the I've never been
to the Chili Parlar, but I've never been to the
Cloak Room.
Speaker 4 (06:45):
Either, have you? Oh, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
It was like we're a lot.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Of lobbyists and a lot of yeah's officials and stuff.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
And that's more over towards red River, right.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Yeah, there was one that that was a big one
was the Caucus that's talk that's.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
What I'm looking up right now.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
That was many a divorce.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
At one point in my elementary school aged years, I
remember sitting on the bar at the Caucus because my
mom went and picked me up from school and took
me back to the bar.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
Set you on the bar.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
I was sitting on the bar at the end. I
think her senator that she worked for had kind of
claimed the bar for his staff.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
A little girl on bar.
Speaker 5 (07:27):
It was was caucus, the one down on like dirty
sixth right by Waller Creek.
Speaker 4 (07:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
See, I don't remember, That's what I'm saying. I was
that small that I don't remember where it was. I
just know I was there, and I know my mom
spent a lot of time there. She lived at the Capitol.
Speaker 5 (07:42):
Yeah, it's like a it's like a crawfish place or something.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
Now, I think that I think that was it.
Speaker 5 (07:50):
If that, if that wasn't the caucus, it was a
where that building is was a place where all the
politicians would hang out. Like yeah, I think Anne Richards
and and her posse were regulars there.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
I think they've got the memo to lay low. Now.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
A lot of the politicians they don't get arrested like
they used to.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
You know, it's hot on South Connor right hold on
the Caucus Club down on red River. I think that's
what it was still there, I think so. Yeah, yep,
got a phone number and everything. Caucus Club nine twelve
Red River.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
Street, oh ninth in red River, Okay, Oh, near Mohawk
and all that.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
Wow, Okay, that's an interesting combination of people. People that
go to the caucas Club and people that go to Mohawk. Yeah,
right next to each other.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
Yeah, that'd be an interesting vibe.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
Interesting.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
Well anyway, again, sad news. Scott Zebelin, the owner of
the chili parlor, has passed away. He owned it since
two thousand and two, and he did the comptroller had
seized it for unpaid taxes. He went and paid off
all their debt and put it back in exactly as
it was.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
All right, that is the story we love still to come.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
I'm telling you, man, stand up comedians around Austin have
been all for years been looking for stuff to do
during the day. This is not one I ever thought
I would see, But it's out there and it's available.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
We'll tell you what that is.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
Also, before eight o'clock we're going to share with you
some of the cool rooftop pools that you can hit
up by getting a day pass Act.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
These are mostly at hotels, right.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Hotel pools, Yeah, some rooftops, some not cool, different vibes
and options, and give you some information because it's getting.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
Hot, all right.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
That's coming up before eight on Austin's eight station, one
oh three point one
