Speaker 3 (00:20):
The danger that she put me in. All right, you didn't.
Speaker 4 (00:24):
Don't act like you're ridiculous. It's JB's gonna groan and

He hears you.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
No, he's gonna he's gonna take my.
Speaker 5 (00:30):
Side, I know, but still he should grown and roll
his eyes.

By the way, grab the podcast version of the show.
Searched the JB and Sandy Show on the iHeartRadio app.
So on Saturday, Tricia and I drove to College Station
to Texas A and M University where our daughter and
her classmates uh in the ROTC program at our high
school were competing in the state meet. Right, it was
a big deal and it was the kids from all
(00:56):
over the state were there. And by the way, congratulations
her her company. They finished third overall overall entire state.
So cool, which is really really good, great group of kids,
great organization. Anyway, we get there, we get super lucky
with parking. And we're walking in and we have pretty
decent walk to the building that we're going to, and
(01:19):
Tricia goes freezing. Yeah, and we're going inside and Tricia
it's like, here, we carry this for me. And it's
a big, giant pink purse, right, and so I'm like, okay,
all right, I'm all right. It is pink.
Speaker 6 (01:34):
No, it's not.
Speaker 4 (01:35):
It's like a cream tan color. It's almost white. Move
not pinky at all, not even a little bit.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
But here's the thing. Normally, I'm like, okay, I don't mind.
I'm carrying the purse. That's not the greatest thing in
the world for a dude. But I get it to
my wife, but it took her forever to get the
sweatshirt on while I carried the purse.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
I took my sweatshirt out and I said, will you
hold this while I put my shirt on? And it
was kind of a fitted fleece and already had another
shirt on. So I'm struggling to get in. It was
maybe forty five seconds. Jabe maybe one minute, and he
was all, dude, hurry up, as.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
Everywhere there was nobody and.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Oh yeah, guys with pink purses on ut camps.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
Not out of the normal.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Yeah, in college station, you might as well be wearing heels.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
Oh my god, there was nobody around. It was not
a pink purse. It was maybe one minute.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
Okay to me, like, I've never been on the Aggie
campus and I hope I never have to go. But
it's like, to me, vibe wise, it's it'd be like
walking into a biker bar.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
Just right, just.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Temperament wise, and it's energy wise.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
It's like, it's not like we were walking like a
wad in the middle of a school day. It was
a Saturday and we were behind a building. Still nobody
was around. It's not like we walked onto Kyle Field
with the stands full.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
I'm in college station. I'm wearing boots and jeans and
grunting and spitting.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
Carried a purse. You're not carrying a purse.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
I might even go adopt a Collie just for my
college station visit.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
Ride a horse to class.
Speaker 5 (03:44):
Ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
Put me in the harm's way, Tricia very much.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
Put Yeah, it really was. I couldn't believe how long
it took her to.
Speaker 5 (03:53):
Put on a sweatsh Yeah, put on a shirt.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
Unbelievable things.
Speaker 4 (03:57):
But then to add insultant for Sandy. When we got there,
we immediately walked into the building we were.
Speaker 5 (04:03):
In and then I was like, ooh, I'm too hot
and I had to take it up.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Yeah, and then we got somewhat It's kind of funny,
we got voluntold JB.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
Have you ever heard the saying volunteer phrase?
Speaker 2 (04:16):
Yeah, yeah, if you don't get any volunteers, you're going
to get voluntold. Well, Tricia and I have been volunteld
that we are going to be a part of the board.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
What is it we're doing the Booster Club, which is
the board of directors for the ROTC. They have funds, fundraising,
event coordination, president, already have a president. They need a VP,
like for the people who've been doing it are leaving,
so they need They're trying to fill four spots and
they are coming hard at Sandy and I like, put
(04:44):
us on the spot and tell them what you said, Sandy, I.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Said, I have no I'll do it. I said, I'll
do it as long as I outrank Tricia worried about because.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
I don't want to be told what to do all
day long and then be told what to do with
this too.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
So if I'll be the vice president, because I have
offered the VP position.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
And that will make whatever position you are below me,
and that's all that matters.
Speaker 4 (05:12):
Well, I report to the president, Jenny, I'm not reporting
to you if you're my VP.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
Wait a minute, it's a female president.
Speaker 5 (05:19):
Yes, it's a female president.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
What the hell going on? My damn navy. It's not
not my navy, not my maybe.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
Anyway, that was our trip to Texas, A and M.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
But we had a good time, and then I asked
we went to anything fun when we were there, we
were kind of in and out. We stopped in eight
at this place called Red's Ice House, which was fairly new,
I think in College Station. It said now open and
it was very nice, very cool, modern type of sports bar.
It wasn't like the Dixie Chicken or any of those places.
(05:56):
And heritage that's like the most heritage bar, the digs
a Chicken.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
Yeah yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
And so we got done with lunch and I looked
at Trisha, I go, hey, you want to stand up
and seing the eyes of Texas and.
Speaker 5 (06:10):
Then run out.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
You wouldn't get out the College Station. It was.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
It was a Saturday, and every person in there was
wearing Marion and white or something with the A and
M logo on it.
Speaker 5 (06:23):
I mean every single person. I looked around and.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
There wasn't an Aggie game on tell that there might
be a basketball game or something on TV, but there wasn't.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
There was a normal dress Saturday afternoon and college station.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
It's really a different world down there, very different and
our and our daughter has really really got her hopes up.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
To going to school there.
Speaker 5 (06:44):
She is zeroed in on an M.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
Yeah, and so we'll see.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Here's what I think where the rotwo s cant help
because it's hard to get in. It's hard for the
Texas kids to get in. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
So meanwhile, there's like sixty thousand students there, and apparently
last year they dropped the number of freshmen they let
then because they have so many students.
Speaker 5 (07:03):
But here's what I thought was funny. The Core of Cadets.
Speaker 4 (07:07):
The core has I think two thousand people in it,
two thousand students, and they call the other fifty nine
thousand people non REGs, non regulation.
Speaker 5 (07:19):
Non regulation students.
Speaker 4 (07:21):
Out of sixty one thousand, fifty nine, they are like
the outset non REGs, not like us.
Speaker 5 (07:26):
I just think that's very funny.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
It was an interesting trip. It was good to get
back home, I'll tell you that much.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
If you're getting text messages telling saying that you owe
money to the toll authority, you get toll taged that
you got to pay up, this is a scam.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
I've gotten about five of them.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
Yeah, I've gotten a whole bunch too. My daughter called
me about it. They they're hitting everybody.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
Yeah, and it's this is something I read a story
about this that it had been around a few years ago,
it had gone away, and now it's come back.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
But it's even bigger than before.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Like more people are getting these text messages saying that
you've got to pay right now and all this kind
of stuff.
Speaker 5 (08:07):
Tricia, have you gotten any I haven't gotten one.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
No, But I bet the reason it's reserviced again is
because it's all of the craziness going on with the
Texas toll tag being transferred to Houston and everything being
so confusing. The scammers are probably like this prime territory
to get some money from people.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Here's what it says. It says the Toll Roads Notice
of toll evasion. You have an unpaid toll bill on
your account to avoid late vies, paid within twelve hours
with the late beats will be increased and reported to
the DMV. Blah blah blah plus please reply why then
exit the text message and open it again to activate
the link, or copy the link to your Safari browser
(08:47):
and open it. The toll roads team wishes you a
great day. Yeah, this is a scam. It's the number
that it's coming from is a plus four to four
country code.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
Yeah, that's what tipped me off that it was a
different country code of right, And.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
Normally tolls and bills aren't due within twelve hours, Like,
that's weird.
Speaker 5 (09:09):
That's a big tip off too.
Speaker 4 (09:11):
And also they say, don't pay anything through a link
sent to you from a number that you don't recognize.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
They said, Yeah, even if like one of my credit
cards or my bank calls about something, you know, you
know I have those alerts where they call you, I
will still go, oh, let me log in and check
it out. Yeah, because I don't know who I'm talking
to on the phone.
Speaker 6 (09:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
Yeah, they could just be saying there was Bank of
America or City Bank or Chase Card whatever.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
It's un when you start just giving them information. Right,
here's a question for you along the same lines as
a scam. But I also got text messages this week.
Do you guys know what coinbase is? It's basically your
you know, it's your broker for your for your crypto
and you can buy and sell it whatever there. And
I got several of these message that said you're withdrawal
(10:00):
verification code is blank, and then it says didn't request it,
contact us, and then it gives the phone number. I
got a bunch of these. I did not request a
withdrawal from my crypto account at Coinbase, but I kept
getting these over and over and then I'm scared to
have to call that number.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
I mean, yeahday, I've read reports before that people say
to avoid scammers, you always go like, if it's a
credit card, call company.
Speaker 5 (10:27):
Saying you owe us money and call this number.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
You get your credit card out and you call the
number on the back of the credit card, or you
log into the website that you normally log into. You
don't ever use their phone number or their link or
they're anything like that their websites. So ps, we ain't
got no money in that account, so it's withdrawing what
nobody is withdrawing anything from that coinbase account right.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
As far as you.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
When people bring up coinbase, I'm like, no, I'm a
coinstar guy. Oh the going star which change collections money. Yeah,
here's have you even following the penny thing, like getting
rid of the penny?
Speaker 3 (11:08):
Yeah, I'm all for it.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
It costs like three to five cents to make a penny.
Speaker 5 (11:14):
To make a penny because of the copper prices.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
How a nickel nickel costs like triple yeah, what it
is to make a nickel?
Speaker 5 (11:22):
Yeah, yeah, it's crazy, so messed up.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Doesn't make a lot of sense. But it's like having
cash is like having a booger in your pocket. It's
just weird to have a Like our daughter over the weekend,
she ducked in and she's like, hey, I'm going aheading out.
Do you have any cash? And I'm like, cash, I
don't know. And I looked I had like ten dollars
(11:47):
and I go, don't you have some money in your
on your account? She's like yeah, but mom said not
to spend my money.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
She said, okay, So I told her she was going
on an overnight trip for her r OTC a drill team,
and I was like, I'll give you some money.
Speaker 5 (12:03):
And then later she goes, dad gave me money, and
I was like, oh, all right. Well then the next
day or even later that night, she's like, can you
give me some money? I go, I thought Dad gave
you money. She goes, he gave me ten bucks. That's all,
Like that did That's all you gave me.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
The only time we ever have any cash is stuff
we've sold on like marketplace. Yeah yeah, Facebook, Marketplace or
Craigslist or something like. Other than that, like never have cash.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
I have money from like birthday cards and stuff, and
then I hide it in my secret money hole in
my wallet to save it because it's normally like one
hundred dollars bill or a fifty dollars.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
I feel like I need to defend myself a little
bit from being a cheapskate, which Trisia's pointed me out.
I offered, I go, can I just apple, you know,
pay you some some money, and she's like, my tap
to work hasn't been working, Like well, that's weird to
begin with that it doesn't work when you want to
pay for something.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
But anyway, I offered to give her more. Don't make
me look like a cheap skate.
Speaker 5 (13:02):
I was like, they go to BUCkies.
Speaker 4 (13:03):
She can buy a barbecue sandwich for ten dollars at BUCkies.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
That's all she needs.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
They just go to BUCkies for fun.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Do you have one by you?
Speaker 1 (13:14):
And Cedar Park out of.
Speaker 4 (13:16):
Their way any truth they go on, But JB, they'd
stop at the Bugies on.
Speaker 5 (13:21):
The way there and on the way back College station.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
But I think it's because they know they can get
the buses in there, and they know that the kids
can go in and go to the bathroom and get food.
Speaker 5 (13:32):
I think it's strategic for food and bathrooms.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
I was just wondering, because how dangerous would it be
to have a BUCkies in your neighborhood. That's all for
road trips.
Speaker 5 (13:40):
No, this is when they go out of town.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
Okay, yeah, we would be doing Sunday Launch at BUCkies.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
Yeah, real quick, tell JB the story about your your
grandmother and your grandfather and about cash.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
And checks and and hey, yeah, they used to bail,
hay and sell and that had a big sign sitting
at the end of their driveway that said, you know,
hey for sale cash or or cash.
Speaker 5 (14:07):
And checks or something.
Speaker 4 (14:08):
Anyway, the phone number was on there people would call.
The deal they had was my grandmother got to keep
whatever cash people paid with, and my grandfather got to
keep whatever checks people paid with. So if my grandmother
answered the phone, you tell them we only take cash. Yeah,
my grandfather was, like, nobody pays with checks anymore.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
Brilliant.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
We all three point one Austin's eighties station. It's the
JB and Sandy Show. There's really no other way to
explain this other than that JB sent Tricia and I
and Instagram rail and it cracked us up, and we've
been talking about it. It just keeps coming up over
and over again. Right, Yes, So, JB, describe the visual
(14:50):
of the of the reel that you sent.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
I mean, it's the clip is no different than any
sort of public altercation that you see on social media
every day. Now, you know, people people getting in fights
on the sidewalk or traffic or whatever. Shopping mall pretty normal.
But I have just you know, typical mindless scrolling. I
stumble across this clip that's got to be from the sixties,
(15:15):
like late sixties, early seventies, and it's a guy all irritated.
He references more than one person, but he's talking to
one person who's filming him, which that took a lot
of work back then to just film a stranger. But
what's so funny to me is the vintage dialogue, like
we've joked about, you know, the old movie dialogue from
(15:38):
the twenties, Saint.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
Yeah stuff, I knew you were so rap.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
Yeah, it's just so funny the dialogue. And I stumbled
across this, and I think it's late sixties, early seventies,
and this guy is irritated with this guy filming him,
and just the names that he uses in the dialogues
that he uses is so funny. Watch this so many times.
Here you go, and it's a phrase we need to
bring back. Okay, well know they won't know how to react.
(16:08):
Here he is as he's walking down the sidewalk.
Speaker 6 (16:10):
Okay, you're a crumb creep. And I wouldn't take that
off of nobody. And there's three of you and I'm
by myself, and when it's over, there'll be nothing to it,
win or lose. Okay, but you don't have the courage.
You're a real crumb bumb. Put that on camera. You're
a crumbbumb. The three of yous and I challenge you.
(16:31):
You're a coward. You're a yellow sneak. And if you
want to now what I say, let's forget all the
rules of this great country we live in.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
I will go back to that wall with the three
of you.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
Is just me.
Speaker 6 (16:44):
We're a crumb creep coward.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
A crumb creep coward. I tell you, I like my gun.
Speaker 5 (16:50):
Is that Howard cosell It's very Howard cosellish. And he
couldn't let it go.
Speaker 4 (16:57):
The video goes on longer like he could get it out.
He had so many words for this guy and not
one bad word. Crumbum, crumbum, crumb creep.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
It's like he grew up in a household where swearing
had the ultimate penalty, right right, So he's just darned
these creative ways of being angry. You're a crumbumb I
tell you, you're yellow snake, You're a coward.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
He was ready to take him all on. He was
going to go on the other side of the fence.
Speaker 5 (17:28):
He had to go put his dog up first.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
Yeah, he had to put his dog up, and then
he's gonna wear them out. Crumbbum So classic. Just so
I just love change, Like when did the you. You know,
I knew you was a rat. See all that stop
and then.
Speaker 5 (17:46):
And it became so common just use the F word
all the time when you were mad.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
Yeah, yeah, it's very funny though. It's funny just scrolling
through Instagram. What'll make you like? Because first, and I've
been laughing about every since you sent it. I crossed
her in the hallway. I go, you're a crumb bumb.
Speaker 5 (18:05):
We're on board with you trying to bring it back.
It's a good way.
Speaker 3 (18:08):
Gosh, yeah, funny. And you got to do it to
someone that has never seen the video and just see
how they react.
Speaker 5 (18:15):
Right right, Yeah, nobody's gonna know.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
I mean, can you imagine people are all revd up
for a whole bunch of bad words and you threw
out crumbum, They're stunned into silence. You win, You automatically win.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
It's good stuff, very funny. Hey, thanks for checking out
the podcast version of the show. We appreciate it. We
hope you listen to the radio as well.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
