Speaker 1 (00:01):
Good morning, Michael and Dragon.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Well, last night Trump's executive order fell short of declaring
taxpayer relief shot.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
Friday a holiday each week. However, I intend to still
celebrate it.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
Thank you God blessed. Have a great merry Christmas.
Speaker 4 (00:19):
Caution you are about to experience the taxpayer relief shot
segment on the situation with Michael Brown. Caution you are
about to experience the taxpayer relief shot segment on the
situation with Michael Brown. We do not necessarily relish the
death of any criminal, but we do celebrate our God
given and constitutional right to self defense in the event
(00:41):
that the criminal becomes DRT. The taxpayers spared the cost
of public defenders, court costs, incarceration, and continued Pearl supervision.
As the Sheriff of Santa Rosa County, Florida says insert
audio here, or Sheriff Grady of Pope County says insert
audio here, you have been.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Warned listen at your own risks. Mike, yep.
Speaker 5 (01:07):
We do call them taxpayer relief shots, and we call
them taxpayer relief shots primarily because.
Speaker 6 (01:12):
Somebody's breaking in your house, you're more than welcome to
shoot them.
Speaker 7 (01:15):
In Centero's accounting.
Speaker 8 (01:16):
We prefer that you do actually hopefully you'll save the
taxpayers money, or.
Speaker 9 (01:22):
I would tell them, if you value your life, you
probably shouldn't do that. In Polk County because the people
of Polk County like guns.
Speaker 7 (01:28):
They have guns.
Speaker 9 (01:29):
I encourage them to own guns, and they're going to
be in their homes tonight with their guns loaded.
Speaker 10 (01:34):
And if you try to break into their homes to.
Speaker 9 (01:36):
Steal to set fires, I'm highly recommending they blow you
back out of the house with their guns.
Speaker 10 (01:41):
So leave the community alone.
Speaker 11 (01:44):
And if someone breaks in, and that's the possibility that
they're going to accept it, somebody going to be shooting them.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
So I wish suggest not to break into homes.
Speaker 7 (01:56):
And if you do break into a.
Speaker 9 (01:58):
Home, don't attack my deputies. Don't try to stab or
shoot my deputies, because if you do, we're gonna shoot
you a lot, shoot.
Speaker 7 (02:11):
You a lot. Chiff Reams says.
Speaker 12 (02:15):
This is Weld County Sheriff Steve Reams, and I want
to encourage the people of Colorado to remember you still
have the right to defend yourself no matter how much
of a mess this state has become. While the Democrats
and the legislature and the governor of the state have
created as many barriers as they can to make it
difficult for you to own and carry a gun for
your protection. You still have your Second Amendment rights. The
Democrat controlled legislature and Governor Polis also tell us that
(02:36):
crime isn't out of control, but we all know that's
not true. In Weld County. I encourage every citizen to
have an investment in their own safety. You should own
a gun and know how to use it. If someone
wants to break into your home and threaten your family,
they should meet the serious end of a firearm. The
best way to end the spread of crime is to
ensure the criminal is no longer part of the equation.
As the Sheriff of Weald County, remember this. We love
(02:57):
our guns in Weld County and we don't like criminals. Yeah, now,
compare and contrasts that. Just so you understand that our
culture is entirely different from our neighbors to the north.
Speaker 13 (03:12):
In the unlikely event that you find yourself the victim
of a home invasion, we are urging citizens not to
take matters into their own hands.
Speaker 5 (03:19):
I want you to think of the hell stupid this is.
I want you to think about someone's breaking into your house.
They burst through the front door, they've broken in the
back door, they climbed through a window. It's two o'clock
in the morning. You're drowsy, you're asleep, the kids are
asleep in their bed. Wife's laying next to your spouse
(03:40):
is laying next to you, and you hear the crash
of glass, and then you hear pounding on the stairwell.
Speaker 7 (03:49):
This guy wants you to.
Speaker 13 (03:51):
We urge you to call nine one one and do
everything you can to keep yourself and loved ones safe
until police arrive, and be the best witness possible.
Speaker 7 (04:00):
Be like Calvin and Holmes. Just crawl into the bed.
Speaker 13 (04:04):
This could mean locking yourself in a room away from
the perpetrators, hiding.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
Fleeing the home.
Speaker 13 (04:09):
But don't engage unless absolutely necessary.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
As it stands, we know the.
Speaker 13 (04:16):
Best defense for most people is to comply. As you've
just heard a number of safety recommendation, all of.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
Will allow for those.
Speaker 13 (04:30):
That are victimizing members in the community to leave and
not harm anyone.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
And my advice is to rely.
Speaker 13 (04:40):
On our place service called nine one one immediately and
let us take it from there and we see more
often than not when people comply.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
That you know what injuries are not are.
Speaker 13 (04:56):
Not happening, and people are not victimized in terms of
injury or in this case, unfortunately, we've seen the loss
of life in some of these incidents.
Speaker 14 (05:06):
Yeah, he tries so hard to not say, please, don't
kill the bad guy, right.
Speaker 5 (05:12):
I know, and he knows what he's saying is just
totally irrational.
Speaker 7 (05:18):
All right, let's get through them. The first one is
an award winner.
Speaker 5 (05:21):
A seventy four year old homeowner decides not to follow
the advice of the Canadian constable.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
You're learning new information tonight about the teenager who broke
into a Southgate home.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
And ended up dead.
Speaker 15 (05:32):
Place have now identified him, and they're revealing new details
about the crime.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Tonight, seven Action News reporter.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
A new Prakash has the update.
Speaker 16 (05:41):
Nineteen year old James Clickard is the man Southgate police
say broke into his neighbor's home early Thursday morning and
wound up dead. They made the positive id using fingerprints.
Investigators say the seventy four year old homeowner shot and
killed Clickard after Clickard pointed a gun at him. They've
also learned the teen's gun had been reported stolen.
Speaker 17 (05:59):
It was taken in a home invasion in the city
of Taylor sometime in twenty fourteen.
Speaker 16 (06:05):
Police say they don't know if Cliford was involved in
that home invasion or how he got his hands on
that stolen gun.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
Yesterday morning.
Speaker 16 (06:11):
They say he was in the process of stealing prescription
drugs and electronics when he was confronted by the homeowner.
Speaker 17 (06:17):
There was I believe a computer in a box containing
some pharmaceuticals that he had taken from the home were
outside of the door wall.
Speaker 16 (06:26):
Police believe this was a justified shooting, but we'll be
turning over their investigation to the prosecutor, who has the
final say.
Speaker 17 (06:33):
Terrifying moment for the homeowner that, you know, you're just
finding out your home was broken into, and now someone's
pointing a gun at you and you have to make
a decision, you know, a very quick decision to protect yourself.
Speaker 16 (06:47):
In Southgate, a new Prakash seven ection news and.
Speaker 7 (06:50):
Thanks by relief shops will continue after this.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
Michael, whoever came up with the term gun buy back
must have been some half with politician. They're really not
very good at naming things, as you are aware, did
they originally sell the guns to the people, and now
they're buying their back. No, of course, not again politicians
(07:14):
being stupid.
Speaker 5 (07:16):
Well there you did it again. I agree with your sentiment. However,
you there's a lot of redundancy. Half wit politician. Stupid politician, you're.
Speaker 7 (07:29):
Be a little more concise in your language. Politician.
Speaker 5 (07:33):
We know they're stupid and they're half wits. Now we
do taxpayer relief shots to try to help some people
who are ignorant about the right of self defense.
Speaker 7 (07:44):
Why this person?
Speaker 11 (07:47):
His sister Rochelle acknowledged his actions, but criticized the employee's response, stating, yes,
he was robbing them, but that clerk shouldn't have shot him.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
They should have called the police. Loser.
Speaker 5 (08:01):
Yeah, I know, my brother was, you know, engaged with
an arm robber. He had a gun pointed at the
clerk's heads. But he should have just called the cops.
Wonder how that would have worked out. Another award winner,
a homeowner shoots and kills.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
The third week in a row, and Omaha homeowner comes
face to face with an alleged intruder. This time a
four year old girl is inside at the time, and
the suspect is dead. It happened this morning at seventy
fourth in Vain Streets, just northwest of Emmanuel Hospital. KTV
News watched them as Chindon is live with this developing story.
Speaker 18 (08:35):
And Alista please just.
Speaker 19 (08:36):
Confirm the alleged intruder has died from his injuries. Which
told his name's Darryl Miller and he's forty eight years old. Meanwhile,
this area near seventy fourth and Vain Street has been
blocked off since nine am. That's nearly eight hours now
after the shooting. And police say when officers arrived at
this scene here at the corner.
Speaker 4 (08:51):
Home, they found the suspect on.
Speaker 19 (08:53):
The front porch in extremely critical condition. Now take a
look at Paramedics rush the allegend truder to the hottle.
Police identify him again as forty eight year old Darryl Miller.
The homeowner tells police he and.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
His four year old daughter were home before nine.
Speaker 19 (09:07):
O'clock this morning when someone rang the doorbell. As a
homeowner was rushing to go to the door, a stranger
was already inside their home and that's when the homeowner
shot the man. A neighbor and friend who stepped in
to care for the four year olds while her dad
was talking with police, says the young girls stayed calm
and even told police what happened. Again here back lives
at the scene. The alleged intruder has died after the
(09:28):
homeowner shot him. No charges were filed against the homeowner today.
We spoke with prosecutors just a few hours ago and
they tell me so far in the early stages of
this investigation, the shooting seems justified. But coming up later
at six, we speak to residents nearby who tell us
what they think, specifically about their right to bare firearms
and protect themselves against these alleged intruders.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Back to you, all right, chained own reporting life.
Speaker 5 (09:52):
Thank you, Yeah, talk to your lawyer first before you
talk to the cops. That was a good one. Let's
see in the homeowner. The homeowner and another award winner sheriff.
Speaker 20 (10:02):
Investigators say a homeowner shot and killed a man who
was trying to get into his home. Deputies were called
out to the house in Rome in Wise County at
about four this morning. Fox Forest phil Alto was in
Wise County with Moore phil.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
Well Calbert.
Speaker 21 (10:18):
The Wise County Sheriff has identified the man who was
shot and killed. His thirty one year old Spencer Crandall.
The sheriff also says that he does not expect to
file any charges against the homeowner who shot the suspected
intruder constant banging on the front door and someone leaning
on the doorbell twice, each time no one was at
(10:39):
the front door. Wise County Sheriff David Walker says the
homeowner got a pistol and went outside. He discovered a
man trying to climb the fence into his backyard.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
He told the.
Speaker 22 (10:52):
Male subject to get on the ground and that he
was at the wrong house. I think the subject was
telling them, let me in the house.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
I'm going in your house.
Speaker 21 (11:02):
The two men fought, The sheriff says the man's wife
and her fourteen year old daughter were inside. The sheriff
has identified the suspect as thirty one year old Spencer Crandall,
who investigators say refused to back away even after the
homeowner warned him he was.
Speaker 22 (11:17):
Armed, responded with profanity and started circling around to the
front of the house. You know, the homeowner did probably
what any of us would have done. Has got between
him and his house, especially since his kids were in
the house.
Speaker 21 (11:28):
Investigators say the homeowner got between his front door and
Crandall and fired one time.
Speaker 22 (11:34):
The suspect was just trying to manhandle or push his
way through into the house and kept repeatingly saying he's
going in the house, He's going to walk over the pub.
Speaker 21 (11:41):
This Sherll Creek neighborhood is filled with young families and
children concerned by what took place. One person only wanted
us to use his first name.
Speaker 23 (11:50):
This is a big stake, you know, a very populous
but people everywhere.
Speaker 11 (11:54):
You just don't know who's out there, so you really
got to be able to take care of yourself.
Speaker 21 (11:58):
The sheriff says. No one in the house new Crandall
or why he was so intent on going into their home.
Police say, right now, there's no evidence that this was
a home invasion or a burglary or a robbery.
Speaker 22 (12:11):
Whether alcohol or anything that that or drugs that could
have been involved. We won't know that till autopsy comes back.
Speaker 21 (12:19):
And the sheriff says, one of the main things I
need to find out is you know how Crandell ended
up in that neighborhood, whether he lives nearby, or exactly
what brought him there. Court records indicate that Crandell has
two criminal trespass charges against him, one reckless driving and
a DWI Albert, thank.
Speaker 20 (12:38):
You, Phil ever alive in Wise County.
Speaker 7 (12:40):
You know why I like that one.
Speaker 5 (12:42):
The PIO, the public information officer all the way through.
Speaker 7 (12:46):
Yeah, he did the right thing. He got between the
intruder and his family was in the house. He stepped between,
he got between, he stopped him. He stopped him. That
was a very good one.
Speaker 10 (12:58):
Mike and Dragon.
Speaker 24 (12:59):
It's so sad that I'm going to have to be
spending the next couple of weeks or so with my
family instead of listening to you guys.
Speaker 10 (13:09):
But oh well, such as life.
Speaker 25 (13:12):
You guys, have a great Christmas, a happy New Year,
and we'll see you in twenty twenty six.
Speaker 14 (13:19):
Absolutely, I can't tell though, what was she trying to
be a smart ass.
Speaker 5 (13:25):
Or no, she'd rather spend time with you and me
than her family. Wouldn't you rather spend time with me
than your family?
Speaker 23 (13:32):
Oh?
Speaker 14 (13:33):
Hell no, my family rather spend time with you than me.
That's that, missus Redford. Much rather spend time with you exactly, exactly.
Oh which, by the way, I haven't taken care of
you yet.
Speaker 5 (13:51):
Okay, yeah, I may need your home address that might
know I might personally I deliver.
Speaker 14 (13:59):
Oh no, oh that sounds terrible. No, I don't want
you to know where I live. Oh, I have ways,
I remember, I still know people. I feel dirty right now.
I don't want No. Well, it's okay, just gave me
some money.
Speaker 7 (14:16):
Just screw.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
Then screw.
Speaker 14 (14:19):
You're the one that's concocted this plan all because you
gave a gift card to missus Redbeard that one year,
and she spent it all because you told it was hers,
told her it was hers, and then then you said, well,
what did you get for dragons? She's like, well, nothing,
and then she felt all guilty. And I was like,
well you were supposed to spend some on dragons too,
this in the note.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
And she's like, but you said it was for me.
Speaker 5 (14:41):
You ruined her. No, I made her happy because she
spent all that on her. She spent all of herself.
She loved the fact that you didn't get any of it.
She reveled in that.
Speaker 14 (14:58):
But when she finally understand what your intention was to
at least take me to dinner or something to which
she didn't do that, she's like, oh, I was supposed
to do something for you.
Speaker 5 (15:08):
Well, see now that I know, Now that I know
that I can cause fights between the two of you,
it'll be even better this year. In fact, I think
I know a way to make it even worse, because
I think there's a way to do it that will
at least cause a little bit of an argument. Event Well,
(15:30):
who gets kind of what here? Yeah?
Speaker 14 (15:34):
Thanks whatever? You're no just no, I'm not giving you
my address, You're not coming over, you're not even sending.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
I don't want you to know.
Speaker 23 (15:40):
So no, I'll find out. Get to the textper really shots, Okay,
here we go. This is an award winner. Another homeowner
takes action.
Speaker 26 (15:52):
Today, we are learning more about a deadly home invasion
in Harrison County. Police say the homeowner killed one of
the intruders. A homeowner told us the two mask men
attacked him early this morning at his home on Monroe
Lane near Cynthiana. He says he then grabbed a gun
and fought back. As Sean Moody tells us, the homeowner
told us he feared for his life.
Speaker 8 (16:11):
What happened early Monday morning out here along Monroe Lane
will change a lot of people's lives.
Speaker 6 (16:16):
I just couldn't believe it was happening.
Speaker 8 (16:18):
Bill Jolly never thought he'd be attacked in his own
home and have to shoot and kill someone.
Speaker 6 (16:23):
It was either them or me, and I wanted to
make sure that I got to wake up tomorrow.
Speaker 8 (16:27):
And Mark Gross never expected he'd get a call saying
his son had been shot and killed.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
I'm off for words, State police.
Speaker 8 (16:35):
Say Raven Edwards asked Jolly if she could come to
his house early this morning. They say her boyfriend Marcus
Gross and another man, Larry Nolan, went with her. They
say she first went inside alone, then went back outside,
returning with Gross and Nolan. Police said the two men
attacked Jolly. He says in the struggle he was able
to get a gun from his nightstand.
Speaker 6 (16:54):
One guy had me in a bear hug and the
other one was charging me, and I was able to
swing around with the guy that was on and shoot
the other one.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
Police say Gross was hit.
Speaker 8 (17:04):
They say Nolan drove Gross to Harrison Memorial Hospital, then
ran off, abandoning his car.
Speaker 3 (17:09):
Gross died at the hospital.
Speaker 8 (17:11):
Police arrested Edwards, charging her with burglary and robbery. Mark
Gross says his son has made mistakes, but he says
he's good at his core.
Speaker 17 (17:19):
Mark if you know, I mean, he's my heart, he's
my pride and Joey.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
He says he understands why Jolly did what he did.
Speaker 7 (17:27):
A man does have a right to protect his home.
Speaker 5 (17:30):
Wow, that's pretty darn good. Your son gets killed because
he's committed or crying at least he acknowledges.
Speaker 7 (17:38):
Yeah, it makes me sad, but I understand why he
really does.
Speaker 8 (17:43):
Jolly says he's still in shock over the whole thing,
and he's planning to stay away from his house for
a little while.
Speaker 6 (17:48):
I didn't wake up this morning man to shoot anybody.
I woke up and did my thing and was with
my friends and came home.
Speaker 7 (17:55):
I didn't ask for any of this. And do let
me emphasize that too.
Speaker 5 (18:00):
A lot of people think that people who conceal carry
or you know, love guns and carry guns and shoot guns,
they were just looking for a chance. No, that guy
personifies how we all feel. We don't wake up every
morning just looking to shoot somebody. We're just prepared.
Speaker 8 (18:16):
Harrison County Sean Moody WKYT.
Speaker 26 (18:20):
According to our news partners at the Lexendon Harold Leader,
Nolan was arrested late this afternoon and taken to the
Bourbon County Detention Center.
Speaker 5 (18:28):
All right, here we go. This is an award winner,
and it's local and right.
Speaker 27 (18:33):
Now, deputies are investigating a home invasion in Jefferson County.
It happened in a rural neighborhood off Clear Creek Drive
in Interstate seventy. The Sheriff's Department says a homeowner shot
and killed.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
A person was trying to break in seventy.
Speaker 27 (18:46):
Depart Jennifer Cobleski's been covering this story all day and
Jen still a lot of questions out there.
Speaker 28 (18:51):
Bill Eric, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department is still keeping
us pretty far away from where this happened. Behind me,
you can see investigators are still here processing the crime scene,
trying to piece together exactly what happened here. Neighbors are
still in shock, but many say that the homeowner did
what anyone would do to protect themselves.
Speaker 29 (19:10):
And we have children, and it's very scary.
Speaker 28 (19:13):
Marcy Grant grew up in Genesee. She's alarmed by what
happened just down the road from her house.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
It's very tranquil I think it's very safe.
Speaker 28 (19:22):
I thought it was the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department investigating
a home invasion at about eight thirty this morning. Deputy
say a man who was home alone shot and killed
another man trying to break into his house on Clear
Creek Drive. The homeowner then ran to the neighbor's house
and called nine one one.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
It certainly could be a distinct possibility for my day.
Speaker 18 (19:43):
In the preliminary information we have, you certainly start thinking
that way.
Speaker 28 (19:47):
Under Colorado's make my Day law, a person is justified
and using deadly force on any person who breaks into
their home.
Speaker 25 (19:54):
I think that if you have again and someone intrudes
in your house, that you have to protect yourself.
Speaker 28 (19:58):
Investigators say they did find the intruder's car at the home.
You can see chrus toeing the white suv with Nebraska plates.
Speaker 3 (20:05):
We still don't know if the intruder.
Speaker 28 (20:06):
Was armed or where he entered the home. The early
morning breaking now has neighbors like Grant wondering if she
needs her own protection.
Speaker 25 (20:14):
At my husband, I've talked about getting a gun today
and going through training.
Speaker 28 (20:19):
Deputy's say that the homeowner was not injured in all this.
He was pretty shaken up. He was taken in for questioning.
Reporting Live in Jefferson County tonight, Jennifer Coveleski seven.
Speaker 5 (20:29):
News, Gee, I wonder that woman that says that, you know,
she carries a gun and you gotta do what you
gotta do. Another good award winner, Another award winner. This
one is another homeowner. Got lots of homeowners today.
Speaker 10 (20:45):
His sister Rochelle acknowledged his actions.
Speaker 14 (20:47):
As a double click right there, Michael, Yeah.
Speaker 7 (20:50):
That's the first time in all these weeks. It's been
a while.
Speaker 14 (20:53):
I was thinking about it earlier in this hour he
hasn't there you go there We went with Michael.
Speaker 25 (20:59):
Yeah, this is unfortunate and it actually happened inside of
my complex.
Speaker 15 (21:07):
That reaction for residents after police say a homeowner shawn
and killed an alleged intruder during a fight. Good evening.
I'm a remorse terra It happened near Maryland Parkway and
Hascienda before eleven this morning.
Speaker 5 (21:18):
This raise.
Speaker 15 (21:18):
James King joins US Live after speaking with residence forri.
Speaker 30 (21:21):
For their safety. James, Well, police are working to get
a clear picture of what led up to the shooting,
but residents we spoke to say that this shooting wasn't
a shock given the state that their apartment complex is in.
Metro Police responding to a homicide late Wednesday morning at
(21:42):
the Parkway Villas. Investigators say a resident was inside his
apartment when someone entered unannounced.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
Physical alteration ensued.
Speaker 30 (21:50):
The homeowner produced a firearm and shot that individual. Police
say the homeowner, a man in his thirties, and called
nine one one telling them what happened. After office, there's
attempted to aid the individual shot. The man in his
forties was transported to Sunrise Hospital, where he died. Police
now working the piece together what led up to the shooting.
Speaker 25 (22:10):
There are elements of self defense being portrayed by the homeowner,
but that's all under investigation with us. And I heard
four gun shots and it was a really close range.
Usually it's kind of a little far off.
Speaker 30 (22:23):
Residents telling us that they weren't surprised a shooting.
Speaker 25 (22:26):
Happened, you know, please ambulance and that kind of thing
goes on on a normal basis.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
Does it feel safe here? Legal?
Speaker 7 (22:34):
He doesn't know.
Speaker 31 (22:35):
There's too much I've had passed. It's too much doesn't
happen to pass. We had to be safe.
Speaker 30 (22:39):
Harry Turner says he saw the police and paramedics arriving
this morning. Turner owns a property in the complex and
has seen it's continuous decline.
Speaker 31 (22:49):
We don't you may have security, we used to have
gage security events. I'm reading that we're paying for it,
you know, h o a fee, but we don't have it.
Speaker 7 (22:57):
We don't have a pool.
