Speaker 1 (00:00):
Michael, the true role of government is to do only
that which I cannot do myself. So, as Milton Friedman said,
yes that is national defense, and yes that is some
other functions of being a refereed private sector. So when
we have disputes that they are the neutral party in

(00:21):
that dispute. But all of the things really are up
for discussion. We need to ask that question, what is
the proper role of government?

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Caution, you are about to experience the tax payer relief
shot segment on the situation with Michael Brown. Caution, you
are about to experience the tax payer relief shot segment
on the situation with Michael Brown. We do not necessarily
relish the death of any criminal, but we do celebrate
our God given and constitutional right to self defense in

(00:50):
the event that the criminal becomes DRT. The taxpayers spared
the cost of public defenders, court costs, incarceration, and continued
pearls super vision. As the Sheriff of Santa Rossa County,
Florida says insert audio here, or Sheriff Grady of Pope
County says, insert audio here, you have been warned listen

(01:14):
at your own risks. Mike, all right, here we go them.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
We call these taxpayer relief shots. We do them every
Friday at nine o'clock because I don't believe that stories
of self defense or the lawful use of a firearm
really gets enough attention. And so all these little local
stories get played, but very rarely do they get any
sort of national attention. So this is my little effort

(01:40):
to bring forth stories of the defensive use of firearms
so that we can get rid of the yahoo's like
it to call her out of Pollop Bureau that literally
want to take away your guns. That's exactly what they
want to do. And we call them taxpayer relief shots
primarily because.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
Somebody's breaking in your house here more than welcome to
shoot them. In Centaera's accounting, we prefer that you do. Actually,
hopefully you'll save the taxpayers money.

Speaker 5 (02:08):
Or I would highly suggest that if a looter breaks
into your home, comes into your home while you're there
to steal stuff, that you take your gun and you
shoot him. You shoot him so that he looks like
grated cheese, because you know what, that's one looter that
won't break into anyone else's home.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
And then somebody pointed out last week it's not really
grated cheese. I'm not going to I'm not going to
go question Sheriff Grady. If you want to, that's fine,
but it should be a Swiss cheese. Yes, should be
Swiss cheese. Of course.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
My favorite one of all is I would tell them,
if you value your life, you probably shouldn't do that
in Pole County because the.

Speaker 6 (02:48):
People of Polk County like guns.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
They have guns.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
I encourage them to own guns, and they're going to
be in their homes tonight with their guns loaded.

Speaker 7 (02:56):
And if you try to.

Speaker 5 (02:57):
Break into their homes to steal to set fires, I'm
highly recommending they blow you back out of the house
with your guns.

Speaker 8 (03:03):
So leave the community alone.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Leave alone, Just leave alone. Start working our way through these.
The first one involves the popo. How you get an
armed man holding hostages in a place you never think
really there.

Speaker 9 (03:18):

Pennsylvania that's west of Philadelphia. One police officer has been killed.
Authorities say a suspect carrying a handgun and ziptize entered
the intensive care unit at UPMC Memorial Hospital, taking several
staff members hostage. They say he opened fire, striking a doctor,
a nurse, and a custodian. A suspect was holding one

(03:41):
staff member at gunpoint and had another worker in ziptized
when police say he was shot and killed by officers.
West York Borough Police officer Andrew Duarte died on the scene.
Two other officers were also shot, but are in stable
condition tonight. Authorities have not shared a motive for the shooting.

firefight ensued and Ortiz was struck and killed. Three officers
were also hit. Officer Andrew Dwarte, a law enforcement veteran,
was killed. The shooting sending shockwaves through this quiet community.

Speaker 13 (05:20):
The act of extraordinary bravery and courage by the healthcare
workers here, by the law enforcement professionals. I know that
because of their work, lives were saved.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Today here at UPMC.

Speaker 10 (05:38):
Memorial Wait authlready say no patients were injured and they
continue to receive care here at the hospital. Investigators are
still searching for a motive.

Speaker 9 (05:47):
Wit all right, Christian Cordero, thank you.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
I think can happen anytime, anywhere, and there's the evidence
of it. Oh see the popo shoot and kill an
armed manned who dumb ass? Listen to this all.

Speaker 14 (06:01):
Garland police say an officer was wounded in a targeted
attack overnight.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
The suspect is dead.

Speaker 15 (06:07):
Box Sports Peydon may live in Central Garland, where both
shootings took place.

Speaker 16 (06:11):
Speydon, Yes, Lauren in Shannon. We know the initial incident
here happened between Wanda and Margarita Streets. Those two blocks
have a large police presence right now. Police have been
investigating between this entire area on First Street. Now, we
know that just around midnight, officers were called to an

(06:33):
incident of someone firing shots in the neighborhood. Immediately when
a male officer showed up on scene, he was shot
at while he was.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
In the car.

Speaker 16 (06:42):
Backup came and we know there was a back in
force with the situation moving from Wanda to Margarita back
to Wanda a block over. Police say multiple shots were fired.
The suspect was shot, taken to the hospital and died
in the hospital. The officer is okay and in hospital recovering.
But police say that officer was targeted.

Speaker 17 (07:05):
When our first responding officer arrived in his rucks wat car,
he was immediately met with gunfire from the suspect while
he was in the vehicle. This vehicle sustained gunshot as
well as he himself was shot in the vehicle.

Speaker 16 (07:22):
Now, again, there is a large police presence here right now.
Police are asking that if you have to travel on
first Street, then you avoid both Margarita and Wanda Streets.
Right now, we do not yet know the name of
the officer who was shot at, along with the suspects name,
but police do say that this is a contained incident
and currently there's no danger to the public. We'll keep

(07:45):
you updated when we learn more information. Reporting live in Garland,
Peyton May for good day.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Are all right? Let's see well once again, proving that
the particular place can be anywhere.

Speaker 18 (08:04):
A man is dad tonight after police in Londonderry, New
Hampshire shot him during an armed confrontation. Police say he
opened fire inside of Planet Fitness. Jim Our NBC ten's
Jericho trend joining us from Londonderry with what she is
learning tonight Jericho.

Speaker 19 (08:23):
A two hours later. There is still an active investigation and.

Speaker 20 (08:26):
I just want to be clear.

Speaker 19 (08:27):
There are two points of investigation. The one that is
immediately behind me here along Wanding Pond Winding Pond Road,
and the second one and the first one that where
this all started at Planet Fitness, which is less than
half a mile away from me. We're told those are
where the initial shot was fired. That man then went
over here straight down Winding Pond Road. We're told that

(08:47):
is where he got into a heated confrontation with police.
We're told he was shot right here. You can see
several police here at the scene. We spoke to witnesses
near Planet Fitness where this all started.

Speaker 21 (09:00):
Looked outside and then police officers like, get back inside,
get back inside.

Speaker 19 (09:03):
Alarmed employees peeked out of their nearby businesses as officers
rushed into this Planet Fitness along Orchard View Drive where
they say a man fired a shot inside.

Speaker 22 (09:14):
They said that someone had a gun in there and
then they were just kicking everybody out.

Speaker 19 (09:18):
After the man opened fire, he left the gym. Please
trace the shooter's vehicle to Winding Pond Road, less than
half a mile away from Planet Fitness.

Speaker 23 (09:26):
An event happened at Planet Fitness and I guess whoever
the suspect was ran down here and I guess shots
were fired.

Speaker 19 (09:37):
We're told the shooter inside the vehicle was armed and
confronted officers, during which time several shots were fired, hitting
the man. Members from Londonderry Fire Department pronounced him dead
at the scene along Winding Pond Road.

Speaker 21 (09:49):
I did see the car in his van go down
the state corners van, but that was probably over an
hour ago.

Speaker 23 (09:55):
I'm here because I'm trying to get home, which is
less than a quarter of a mile dof the road.

Speaker 19 (10:00):
Diane Comenda is one of several residents told to wait
in a nearby parking lot as police continued their investigation
along Winding Pond Road, steps away from a condominium complex
along Lincoln Drive.

Speaker 23 (10:12):
Weird, mindonary, something happened.

Speaker 19 (10:18):
And right now you're taking another live look at the
investigation unfolding here along Winding Pond Road. Right now police
have not released the name of that man who was shot.
We also do not know what led up to this shooting,
so a lot of questions here still in Londonderry, New Hampshire, Jericho,
Tran NBC ten, Boston Hospitals.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
Health clubs. You're not safe anywhere. Let's see you hold
a gun, you might end up.

Speaker 24 (10:45):
Man is dead after police pursued ended with gunshots.

Speaker 25 (10:48):
In Winnetka, a.

Speaker 24 (10:49):
Neighbor's security camera apparently captured the sounds of shots being fired.
NBC four is Jonathan Gonzalez live there with War on
the man who has killed.

Speaker 26 (10:58):
Jonathan and calling you know that chase actually started in
the Northwich area did end here and Reneka just behind
us here on Wyandot and Cozy Croft. It's still unclear
why the CHP was chasing that man in the first place,
where the man's family was here earlier. They are now
in morning and they are seeking answers. The sound of

(11:23):
sirens and more than a dozen gunshots all caught in
a surveillance camera waking up this Weinetka neighborhood around two
thirty Wednesday morning. At least one CHP officer opened fire
at the end of a chase, shooting and killing the
man behind the wheel of this white Ford transit.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
Vand it was a crash and I heard also shouting.

Speaker 21 (11:42):
Get on the ground, get on the ground.

Speaker 27 (11:45):
And then, unless it's been about I think that's sixteen shots.

Speaker 26 (11:50):
The pursuit ended in this cul de sac on Sunnybray
Avenue right off of Wyandot Street. Stuart Smith lives just
houses away.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
So that's why the surprise.

Speaker 8 (11:59):
He came down this street if you know, knew the area,
because there's no way out.

Speaker 26 (12:03):
HP tells NBC four the chase began in Northridge and
Mason and Nordoff, but would not say why. Eventually it
came to an end here in Winnetka. HP says their
officer opened fire after spotting the man holding a gun,
which was later recovered at the scene.

Speaker 28 (12:19):
Devastat Actually, I just don't think it would have happened here.

Speaker 26 (12:26):
Family of the man who was killed arrived shortly after,
but did not want to speak. They identified him as
twenty one year old Seja Rivera and that he lived
just around the corner. They said the van belonged to
his father. Rivera's family tells NBC four that he had
just celebrated his twenty first birthday.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
No CHP officers were hurt in.

Speaker 26 (12:46):
The shooting, which is now under investigation by the LAPDA.
Reporting in Wineka, I'm trying to think Gonzalez, Colleen and
Michael will set it back through.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
The super well. He had just celebrated his birthday. But
at least they didn't say this.

Speaker 5 (12:59):
I'll I would tell them, if you value you a lot.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
Where did it go? Or get a double click.

Speaker 29 (13:07):
His sister, Rochelle, acknowledged his actions but criticized the employee's response, stating, yes,
he was robbing them, but that clerk shouldn't have shot him.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
They should have called the police. He was his Birthquay.
He was his birthday. You shouldn't have shot him. Don't
miss with grandma being at.

Speaker 30 (13:26):
Four o'clock, Harri's County deputies say a woman took matters
into her own hands as she confronted two people who
barched into her home.

Speaker 8 (13:32):
Polly say that woman shot and killed one of the suspects.
Thanks for joining us. I'm Bill by Essay and for
Keith Garpenter.

Speaker 30 (13:37):
And I'm Sarah Daunjie. Right now, deputies are still working
to piece together exactly what happened. Shots rang out around
eleven thirty this morning on Fort Bowie Court, close to
Fry Road near the Katie Freeway.

Speaker 8 (13:47):
Our Phil Archer is there right now. Phil, what can
you tell us about this? Well, this was an attempted
home invasion.

Speaker 25 (13:54):
The man who was killed in that attempt at home
invasion still hasn't been moved. His body's laying outside the
house where he fell. The woman who shot him defending
her home, according to deputies, is unharmed. She's talking to
police right now. Gunfire shattered the calm around eleven thirty
this morning. Then two strangers ran from the house. One

(14:15):
of the men never stopped, but the other collapsed and
died in the front yard because.

Speaker 27 (14:19):
I heard it was a burdler and I live in
this neighbor that's the lock this neighborhood.

Speaker 25 (14:25):
Just seconds before, the two suspects walked into the house
through an open garage door.

Speaker 31 (14:29):
The interior door was not locked, so they walked in
carrying weapons and then came into the house. Don't know
what they were demanding personal effects, money or that right now.

Speaker 25 (14:39):
They were met inside by the woman who lives there,
a sixty year old grandmother who had a gun of
her own.

Speaker 31 (14:45):
She confronted both suspects. That female then retrieved a handgun
and fired several times at both subjects.

Speaker 25 (14:52):
The dead men still has not been identified. The man
who was with him jumped a fence and was last
seen running along Psalm's Road. That second suspect still at large,
last scene wearing blue or gray shorts and a dark
T shirt. Deafies are still searching for him. Recording live
in northwest Harris County on phil Archri KPRC channel to.

Speaker 8 (15:13):
Need all right, Bill, thank you.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
We get a lot of Harris County Houston areas. Let's
see another award winner. Let's see we've had a hospital,
We've had a gym and now we have traps.

Speaker 32 (15:29):
The medical examiner just arrived on scene.

Speaker 33 (15:31):
Now.

Speaker 32 (15:31):
Then the call came in just after nine o'clock this morning.
Police say the homeowner heard a noise in his bathroom
grabbed his gun to investigate. Now, the noise came from
an intruder who had entered the home on the forty
nine hundred block of South Columbia Avenue. Now it's unclear
what kind of interaction happened between the homeowner and the intruder,
but police say the homeowner shot and killed him. Now,

(15:52):
police say the homeowner had the right to fire if
he felt he was in danger.

Speaker 34 (15:57):
Hi, you have the right to defend yourself. Now, I
don't know if this guy was armed or not. We
haven't touched the body. We won't touch the body until
the medical examiner gets here, So I don't know if
he was armed or not. But guy was breaking into
a house.

Speaker 32 (16:10):
And now this isn't the first time someone's been shot
after entering this home. In October of twenty thirteen, the
home owner shot and intruder after coming home to find
someone was still in the house. That time, the intruder
did survive. That's all the information we know right now,
but we'll continue to keep you updated on air, online
and on our two Works for You app in Tulsa, Christy,

(16:31):
Murria two Works for You.

Speaker 3 (16:32):
And in the bathroom anywhere. Let's see another homeowner.

Speaker 14 (16:40):
A suspected intruder shot and killed inside an Ostla County
home tonight. We're learning that suspect lived just down the
street from the victims. This is New six at five
getting results. I'm Lauren corn In for Lisa Belle, and.

Speaker 6 (16:52):
I'm Justin Warmathin from met Austin. We're told a husband, wife,
and their friend were inside the home when a man
broke in and shots rang out. This all unfolded late
last night along Aladdin Court and Saint Cloud that's just
north of US one ninety two. New six reporter Jennifer
Teca has been getting answers about this all afternoon. She
joins us Now Live, Jennifer, you talked with a friend
of the victims. What did he tell you?

Speaker 28 (17:15):
Yeah, he tells me the family is just torn up
about what happened. Now, we did learn that that suspect
and the victim's family live exactly on the same street,
just a couple of houses away. Deputy said before the shooting,
the suspect was seen walking home from a bar.

Speaker 35 (17:31):
He stopped to talk to him, and the suspect indicated
he was leaving a local bar.

Speaker 28 (17:35):
Deputy saying thirty year old bo Garris was shot multiple
times Wednesday night after he tried to break into his
neighbor's home.

Speaker 35 (17:42):
While they were inside, they heard what sounded like someone
trying to break into their home. He obtained a weapon,
walked to the back of the residence and confronted an
unknown suspect.

Speaker 28 (17:53):
The homeowner asked Garris who he was and told him
to leave, but Garris lunched out him and that's when
the homeowner fired a shop. Investigators saying Garris then pushed
the homeowner onto a table, getting on top of him,
causing the homeowner to shoot again.

Speaker 36 (18:07):
My friend defended his home as he felt he needed to,
and that's all they're going to say right now.

Speaker 28 (18:13):
Garris was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Speaker 35 (18:16):
It is unfortunate that the suspect died, but the homeowner
felt like he did what he had to do.

Speaker 37 (18:21):
To protect himself.

Speaker 28 (18:25):
Detectives saying Garris has a criminal history, including drug battery
and trespassing charges. As of now, the homeowner isn't facing
any charges. They say he shot the suspect out of
self defense.

Speaker 3 (18:37):
Justin that's a pretty darn you've been too, taxpayery. These
shots continue after these pharmaceutical commercials. We'll find that.

Speaker 11 (18:57):
After two tours in Vietnam and watching what an sixy
machine gun looks like and what it can do, Sheriff
Grady's right, it looks more like grated cheese, and it
does Swiss cheese.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
Just everywhere.

Speaker 5 (19:13):
I would highly suggest that if a looter breaks into
your home, comes into your home while you're there to
steal stuff, that you take your gun and you shoot him.
You shoot him so that he looks like grated cheese,
because you know what, that's one leader that won't break
into anyone else's home.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
So we're doing taxpayer relief shots, as we all do
every Friday, and we call them taxpayer relief shots.

Speaker 4 (19:36):
Because somebody's breaking in your house here more than welcome
to shoot them. In centaise accounting, we prefer that you do. Actually,
hopefully you'll save the taxpayers money.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
Ingo. And of course some people don't like what we
do on Fridays. And here's an example of the kind
of dumbass that doesn't like it.

Speaker 29 (19:55):
His sister Rochelle acknowledged his actions but criticized the employee's response, stating, yes,
he was robbing them, but that clerk shouldn't have shot him.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
They should have called the police.

Speaker 25 (20:04):
Stop breaking the loser.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
Let's see a man breaking into his ex wife's home. Gee,
I wonder what happens to him?

Speaker 19 (20:16):
Thrying more about a man who was shot and killed
after breaking into his ex wife's home.

Speaker 38 (20:21):
The Lake City Police Department hasn't exactly confirmed the identities
of anyone involved, but friends and family are sharing a
name on social medium and TV twenty's Misty web joins
his line from the neighborhoods where it all happened? To Misty,
what have we learned so far?

Speaker 37 (20:36):
Social media posts from friends and family identify the man
who was shot as thirty one year old the Langston
link of Sykes, and many are sharing conflicting accounts. People
who know Sykes say he was an MMA fighter also
known by the ring named Blaze. Officers say he broke
into a home on Southwest Leslie Glane around eleven pm

(20:57):
Tuesday night. Family and friends say Sykes's ex wife and
kids lived there and children were home at the time
when Sykes rushed toward the people inside. Officers say another
adult fired multiple shots, killing him.

Speaker 21 (21:11):
In their home that they had together.

Speaker 39 (21:12):
He was coming in and throwing stuff around or breaking
things and causing problems, breaking her phone and like all
kinds of stuff. So she got her own place, and
now the fact that it's had to come to this
is just I don't even know.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
It's insane. Honestly, it's hard to believe.

Speaker 37 (21:31):
Madeline Alt wasn't the only one. Saint Sykes had a
history of aggression, while others say he was a friend
and inspiration to many. Some also expressed concern that the
police department didn't release the full story. Officers say due
to the ongoing investigation, they can't reveal if there will
be charges or if the shooting falls under Florida's stands
your ground law and live live in Lake City Misty

(21:54):
web TV twenty news.

Speaker 3 (21:56):
I would just guess that, yeah, it probably does. An
off duty Uh oh, let's see we are right now.
Let's think about this. We've we've had the Jim, We've
had the hospital, we've had the bathroom, we've had the home,
and now we have and.

Speaker 40 (22:12):
Off duty Boston police officer is taken to the hospital
after shooting and killing a knife wielding man inside of
a Chick fil A on Boylston Street. So police say
that suspect had chased two people into the restaurant. WBZ
Samantha Cheney has more from Copley Square.

Speaker 41 (22:28):
Now, the Boston Police Commissioner told us that it was
an off duty Boston officer who shot a man inside
of this Chick fil A. After we're told that he
allegedly chased two people inside of the store with a knife.
Now we're told that both the cop and the victim
were taken.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
To the hospital.

Speaker 41 (22:46):
The officer is okay, but the man he shot has
died from his injuries.

Speaker 20 (22:51):
Now that now they moved on to.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
That person shot.

Speaker 41 (22:56):
City officials extending their condolences.

Speaker 42 (23:00):
Tragic circumstances like this always, as always are our thoughts
and prayers with the family and the friends of the
individual who's been lost.

Speaker 28 (23:12):
Also thinking of all the people who were impacted.

Speaker 41 (23:16):
After police say an off duty Boston police officer shot
and killed a man inside of Chick fil A on
Boylston Street. This after they say he chased two people
inside with a knife.

Speaker 43 (23:29):
The individual or was trying to attempt him to stab
the two individuals in the store, and the off duty
officer identified himself as a police officer, instructed them to
drop the weapon, at which point the individual did not comply.
The officer discharged his weapon to stop the threat, and

(23:51):
the individual was struck.

Speaker 41 (23:53):
According to police, it all happened around five thirty Saturday evening,
leaving some people shake it when you hear something.

Speaker 10 (24:00):
Like that, you see the streets all blocked off, what
do you think?

Speaker 22 (24:04):
It's definitely a dangerous situation to be in. I mean,
as like college students living in this city, you want
to be aware of these things. And in a city
where you don't have a car, walking from place to
place I can make it very dangerous.

Speaker 35 (24:16):
So it's concerning.

Speaker 39 (24:17):
I was surprised to find out, especially like in this area,
because walking down it.

Speaker 22 (24:23):
During the day, I wouldn't have.

Speaker 39 (24:24):
Assumed from being out of town that like certain events
like this would.

Speaker 10 (24:28):
Happen at this time.

Speaker 41 (24:29):
Police say the motive behind the incident is still unclear.

Speaker 42 (24:33):
And we have reason to believe strong reason to believe
that there are other individuals who were here. Who knows something,
who witnessed something, who may have been involved.

Speaker 41 (24:43):
The suffoct County District Attorney tells us that surveillance video
is being used to determine if anyone else was involved
in this incident. As they work to determine what exactly
led up to this shooting, they're asking that if you
were a witness or have any cell phone video that
help in this investigation, you contact them. Karen Copley Square

Speaker 3 (25:07):
Well the way to find out whether or not anybody else
there saw or knew anything. Offer a large free waffle
fries and they'll come forward. Okay, let's see. Please the
pople shoot and kill suspect who well does the typically
stupid thing.

Speaker 27 (25:24):
This started just before midnight on February first, when Elkgrove
police tried pulling over a car without license plates near
Aubury and Spangler on the north side of town. That
car did not stop and led police on a chase.
We do want to warn you that this video shows
the moments police shot the suspect. After refusing to stop
for Elkgrove police. This Ford explorer continues to drive, starting

(25:47):
a car chase that spans several Elk Grove and South
Sacramento neighborhoods. At this point, the driver, twenty two year
old Johnny bart You, continues speeding from police, eventually stopping
in a neighborhood. By this point, Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies
have joined the chase.

Speaker 44 (26:08):
I've got to.

Speaker 39 (26:09):
Vehicles clean, Ivy court, vehicles parked, not moving here.

Speaker 27 (26:14):
A second officer arrives and Bartholomew takes off, hitting an
officer's car on the way out. Bartholomew then gets on
Highway ninety nine and leads officers to the Lemon Hill
neighborhood in South Sack. During this stretch, the suspect fires
at police.

Speaker 45 (26:34):
I think you just said shot at the car, so
we got shots fired.

Speaker 27 (26:38):
From the car, shots fired, and almost hits another.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
Carc Actually it's feeding around it.

Speaker 27 (26:46):
Finally, the chase ends on Lemon Hill Avenue as an
officer rams the suspects car to stop him. When the
suspect drives into the officer's car and refuses commands to
put his hands in the air, two officers in two
different cars fire or their weapons. Here it is from

(27:09):
another angle where you can see Bartholme.

Speaker 45 (27:10):
You hit the officer's car.

Speaker 27 (27:19):
Police arrested the female passenger in that car, who wasn't hurt.
Officer has pulled Bartholmew out of the car, his gun
falling to the ground before giving him CPR, but he
died on scene. Sacramento Police are handling the investigation into
the officer involves shooting, as is the protocol for shootings
that happen in their jurisdiction. The Sacramento County District Attorney's
Office will also be doing their own independent investigation, and

(27:42):
Elk Grove Police will determine whether the officers acted in
line with their own standards and procedures.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
Back to you, you know, I like about that dragon.
So we talked earlier about how we don't like playing
audio that has you know, police or firetruck sirens. And
I think we've had like three mili taxpayer relief shots. Okay,
let's see, don't shoot at cops is the lesson there?

(28:08):
Uh let's see, uh oh got that evil scary rifle
in this one?

Speaker 46 (28:14):
And now at five Orlando police shouldn't kill a man
who they say was armed with a rifle. Cops say
he was beating on someone's front door just before three
this morning. Thank you for joining us here at five
on Fox Local Amni Martinez. It happened in an office
building off of East Colonial Drive that's in the Lake
Yola Heights neighborhood just north of downtown, as Fox thirty

(28:34):
five is matter treasure reports. Police say officers.

Speaker 8 (28:37):
Had no choice but to shoot.

Speaker 47 (28:39):
Orlando Police swarmed the Faith Arts Village in downtown to
Orlando after they got a call around two forty five
in the morning. Artist Eric would also provide security on
the property and says he was there when it happened.

Speaker 36 (28:51):
Got woke up at the alarms going off on the
security system here and that was an officer's coming on property.

Speaker 47 (28:58):
Police say a person turned up with an AR fifteen
style rifle and started banging on one of the doors.
A person who was a few doors away called police.
When they got there, the caller told them where to
find the arm man. OPD says officers walked down the
breezeway toward the man and ordered him to drop the gun.
They say the man refused, and officers shot him, also
leaving these bullet holes in the nearby doors and windows.

Speaker 36 (29:21):
Drawing their pistols and firing upon a gentleman that wouldn't
put his firearm down.

Speaker 47 (29:27):
Police say the suspect was a sixty two year old
man with a nonviolent criminal history in another state. Officers
tried to save his life after the shooting, but he
was pronounced dead at the hospital. Wood says the man
was a fellow artist at the complex.

Speaker 36 (29:40):
Pretty much kept a lot to himself there. He added
a lot of anger issues and I never really spoke
to him that much because the competition that he had
with made previous anger issues.

Speaker 47 (29:53):
Orlando Police Chief Eric Smith says his officers did the
best they could in a tough situation.

Speaker 7 (29:58):
A second decision making the office have to in their mind,
have to decide this is a lethal threat. It's a
lethal threat of course at R fifteen. I mean there's
no secret chances with that kind of weapon. The person
turned towards the suspect, suspect the I mean to towards
the officers. The officers have to defend themselves and protect
the community, and they fire their weapons.

Speaker 47 (30:14):
The Orlando Police Department says the three officers who are
involved in the shooting incident were placed on paid administrative leave.
That's protocol when it comes to officer involved shootings. We're
also told about the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is
involved in this investigation in downtown Orlando.

Speaker 45 (30:29):
Matt Treza Fox Thirvy five News.

Speaker 3 (30:31):
Oh the scary ar fifteen hang tight taxpayer release shots
continue after this.

Speaker 44 (30:36):
Holy crap, that last one from Sacramento. I think I
counted seventeen shots from the cops. I think they did
a little more than discharge their firearms. Wasn't that the
excessive you?

Speaker 2 (30:49):
Oh, well, by well, wasn't one sheriff asked at one
point in time is why did you shoot them one
hundred and eight times? And his response was because we
ran out of bullets.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
Yes. Uh, My guess is most people who do the
same thing. Let's see all right, back to taxpayer relief shots.
The Purple shoot and kill a woman who stabbed a
man to death after once again a taser fails.

Speaker 33 (31:18):
Please say they were called after a woman stabbed a man.
They say she was in a relationship with killing him.
The violence has shaken the residence of that quiet high
room apartment complex that's where Fox five is. Eric Machis
Live with Tonight's Top story.

Speaker 20 (31:34):
Eric, that's absolutely right, Eric. You know people I talk
to here say they're just not used to this kind
of violence out here.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
It's just not something they see.

Speaker 20 (31:44):
And it's really got a lot of people here on
edge as they try to figure out what led up
to this really violent encounter with police.

Speaker 48 (31:55):
It's just going out to my car to get some
food and witnessed his dead body.

Speaker 20 (32:02):
Tasha Goodo says she was just about to go get
some food with her daughter when they saw the body
of a man lying naked and bloody in the parking lot.
She quickly tried to shield her daughter from seeing the
gruesome display.

Speaker 48 (32:13):
She came outside with me and we were getting ready
to leave. I immately turned around and told her to
get back in him.

Speaker 20 (32:24):
Police officers got the call of a woman stabbing a
man at the Columns apartment complex off of Bill Caruf
Parkway at around one pm Sunday. This is dash cam
video one of the residents took as he drove by
the grizzly scene. You can see the woman sitting next
to the victim. Then, when officers arrived, they.

Speaker 45 (32:41):
Encountered a female that was armed with that knife and
advanced towards them. The female had they attempted to tasee
this female, and the taser did not work, and she
continued to advance and officers discharged their weapons, striking the female.

Speaker 20 (32:58):
Officers then tried to render a to the man who
was stabbed, but he died at the scene. The woman
officers shot died at the hospital. Three Hiring police officers
have been placed on administrative leave while the GBI leads
the investigation. Hiring police investigators say the man and woman
were in a relationship and describe the incident as domestic violence.

Speaker 45 (33:17):
This is a horrible event for everybody involved, not only
the families and the two deceased people, but also keep
in mind the mental status of the officers that had
to do this today. That is going to be an
emotional toll on them for life.

Speaker 20 (33:29):
Goodo says she's praying for all the families involved and
is also concerned for the trauma her daughter my face
from seeing this.

Speaker 48 (33:36):
He walks to the school bus at the beginning of
the CONFLX, So I don't want her to be afraid
of having to get up in the morning to walk
after seeing you know, all of this is going on.

Speaker 20 (33:51):
Yeah, still a lot of fear and shock with the
people we spoke to here today, Eric, and you know
the GBI is now taken over this investigation, but they
have not released yet who the victim was, who the
suspect was, or who the officers who were involved in
this are as well. Was the developing story that We're
going to keep bringing those details as soon as we
have them. For now, reporting live in Pauline County, Ork
Monk Fox five News.

Speaker 8 (34:11):
All right, Eric, thanks so much, thanks Eric.

Speaker 3 (34:14):
Okay, popo shoot and kill a man outside an Army
airfield facility.

Speaker 15 (34:19):
And investigation is under way tonight after an Oregon State
trooper shot and killed a man outside of an airfield
in Salem. The Marion County District Attorney says that the
suspect gave a threatening note to a guard stationed outside
the Koolanngosky Army Aviation Training Center. Oxwell's McAdam Mark spoke
to a witness that.

Speaker 47 (34:36):
Saw the aftermath of the shooting.

Speaker 49 (34:38):
We heard a couple like pop pop sounds and Kelsey
Ginther works across the street from the Army aviation support facility,
which was the scene of an officer involved shooting. On
Thursday at ten am, someone called in a report of
a suspicious person. Oregon State Police say that when a
trooper responded to the area, they located a suspect and ultimately.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
Had to use deadly force.

Speaker 21 (35:00):
My manager came out and he pushed checking on things,
and he came back and said that there was gunfire.
OSP had shot someone.

Speaker 49 (35:08):
After the gunfire, more OSP troopers and Salem police quickly
responded to the area, closed off roads and tried to
perform CPR on the person who was shot.

Speaker 21 (35:17):
We came outside and we were looking over there. We
saw one of the OSP State troopers bent down over
the person, like holding pressure on the wound. If I
know that, they're probably doing what they thought was the
best option.

Speaker 15 (35:30):
Investigators have identified the suspect as twenty two year old
Matthew Wong. He had an active warrant out for his arrest.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
All right, that's the other attackspayer relief shots for today,
because I don't want to try to start another one
to mess it up, So don't forget tomorrow from ten
to one, join me over on Freedom ninety three to
seven for the weekend with Michael Brown and we'll continue.
We can continue talking about stuff that interest me and
that should fascinate you. See you tomorrow,
