Speaker 1 (00:00):
Three will come back to haunt Jared Polis in a
presidential bid guaranteed.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Caution, you are about to experience the taxpayer relief shot
segment on the situation with Michael Brown. Caution, you are
about to experience the taxpayer relief shot segment on the
situation with Michael Brown. We do not necessarily relish the
death of any criminal, but we do celebrate our God
given and constitutional right to self defense in the event

(00:29):
that the criminal becomes DRT. The taxpayers spared the cost
of public defenders, court costs, incarceration, and continued parole supervision.
As the sheriff of Santa Rosa County, Florida says, insert
audio here, our Sheriff Grady of Polk County says, insert
audio here. You have been warned. Listen at your own risks.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Mike, Okay.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
We did booster shots in the last half hour. We're
going to do regular taxpayer relief shots this hour. We
call them taxpayer relief shots for a pretty simple reason.
Somebody's breaking in your house here, more than welcome to
shoot them. In center's accounting, we prefer that you do. Actually,
hopefully you'll save the taxpayers money because you do I mean,
think about it, If you lawfully exercise your right of

(01:18):
self defense, this really has nothing at all to do
with the Second Amendment other than the right to keep
them bear arms because you can exercise a tax payer
relief shot with. It doesn't have to be a gun.
It could be a nine iron, it could be a
you know, a cast iron skillet. But if if more
people didn't, it would understand they're god given right to
self defense and be willing to exercise that and not

(01:41):
buy into the bull crap that the Marxists in our
society are pushing about disarming yourself and believing that if
you ever harm another individual because they're trying to hurt you,
that somehow you're the bad guy. We got we got
to change that culture. That is just absolutely wrong. Well
what is that culture? Listen to this? This is the

(02:04):
culture of the left right here. In nine seconds.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
His sister Rochelle acknowledged his actions but criticized the employee's response, stating, yes,
he was robbing them, but that clerk shouldn't have shot him.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
They should have called the police, stop.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Bringing the loser.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
That's exactly what they believe. Well, I know, he shouldn't
have been robbing the place. But that doesn't mean the
clerk should should have should have shotting. Well, what's the
clerk supposed to do? Get shot? That's how Democrats slash
Marxists wants you to think. And I know maybe I'm
don quhot he tilting at wit and mills, but I'm

(02:44):
going to do everything I can, with what little influence
I have to explain to you and get you convinced,
to help you convince others that you have a god
given right of self defense. And when you do, you
actually say the taxpayer's money.

Speaker 5 (02:59):
So or Sureff Grady says, I would highly suggest that
if a looter breaks into your home, comes into your
home while you're there to steal stuff, that you take
your gun and you shoot him. You shoot him so
that he looks like grated cheese, because you know what,
that's one looter that won't break into anyone else's home.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
And that should be the attitude of every law enforcement
officer in this country. Oh yeah, let's get started. A
barricaded man, As I tell you, I don't listen to
these until we play them. There's a man barricaded that
decides to do something stupid.

Speaker 6 (03:36):
Well, Dennis, this is definitely a sad one. We are
a little bit aways from the house where this happened.
The man's adult daughter asks that we move just a
little bit down. She didn't want any of the workers
to be on camera. If I were to describe the
mood here in the neighborhood, including the family, in one word,
it's devastated.

Speaker 7 (03:57):
Two deputies showed up and everything escalated from there to
the end result, which is very sad.

Speaker 6 (04:05):
Several hours following the shooting at this residence on the
eighty six hundred block of Blythe Avenue, Sheriff's deputies and
crime scene technicians were busy still collecting evidence from the scene.

Speaker 7 (04:16):
That was really a shocker, but it just really makes
me sad for him and his family.

Speaker 6 (04:21):
Neighbors on the block initially called the Sheriff's office after
hearing gunshots coming from the backyard of this home after
four pm Saturday.

Speaker 8 (04:30):
Not a lot of cooperation, but they were able to
eventually establish some phone contact and that went on for
appears about two and a half three hours what.

Speaker 6 (04:39):
Was eventually called around seven point thirty as negotiations by
phone continued.

Speaker 8 (04:44):
We don't know the sequence yet, but there was an
exchange of gunfire. None of the deputies were fortunately hit
at all, so none of them were injured. The suspect
was unfortunately struck and has since been pronounced the ceased.
I can't confirm that it was self inflicted, or whether
or not it was one of the deputies' runs.

Speaker 6 (04:59):
Sarah Dooley has lived in her home across the street
for sixteen years.

Speaker 7 (05:03):
I would assume he would wave back when his uh
with him and his wife were there, but she passed away.

Speaker 6 (05:11):
Neighbor Veronica Fabe befriended the man's adult daughter a few
years back, and says she called her to share what
was happening.

Speaker 9 (05:18):
Very sad.

Speaker 7 (05:21):
She's devastated. The whole family's devastated the loss of his
wife over twenty years ago, and then several other family members.
Is his best friend and other friends that had passed away,
all in a short time.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
It's a lot for anybody.

Speaker 6 (05:36):
The deep down, she says, she realized this probably wasn't
going to end well.

Speaker 7 (05:42):
At some point.

Speaker 9 (05:43):
Yesterday evening.

Speaker 7 (05:46):
It was I had heard that he was on the
phone with nine one one, and at some point he
was given them telling them what he wanted, what mortuary
and his plans, and that's where I knew. I was like, Oh,
this is not going to end up.

Speaker 6 (06:06):
When they start talking about Veronica says, heartbreak is the
overall feeling in this tightly knit and otherwise quiet neighborhood.

Speaker 7 (06:14):
I want everybody to have compassion, and you never know
what people are going through in their lives and what
their situations.

Speaker 6 (06:23):
And that daughter did say that if you have a
loved one that is needing some help with their mental health,
really do everything you can to make sure that they
get it. Reporting Life from Orangefield tonight, covering local news
that matters where Awena Shaddock's Fox Party.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
News You fascinates me about that package. About that news package,
I agree there should be sympathy for the family. The
guy obviously had mental issues, But Whereverer's the family and
why didn't they get him help? This was clearly suicide
by cop, not once that I I think. I don't
think I heard in a three minute package news package

(07:02):
any sympathy for the cops who were put in that
position by the depressed guy or whatever's problems were that
resulted in the cops having to kill him in order
to defend themselves. See how they the cabal is just awful, awful.
They never once think about, Oh, do we have any

(07:24):
sympathy or concerned about the cops who had to do
their job. No, let's just talk about the guy that
was crazy. Uh, let's see this one's international. See what
the when and where? What this is.

Speaker 10 (07:38):
A man has been shot dead by police in broad
daylight at Milton Keynes railway station. Local and British Transport
Police officers both attended the scene at Edla Gates following
reports of a man carrying a firearm in the area
this afternoon. Thames Valley Police say they responded and challenged
the man before he was fatally shot down. The force

(07:58):
confirmed that life saving actions were taken, but the man
died from.

Speaker 9 (08:02):
His injuries at the scene.

Speaker 10 (08:04):
Locals reported hearing a gunshot shortly after a heavy police
presence in the area at lunch time. Roads were closed
off and a police helicopter was overheard by those locally.
Officers have confirmed there is not believed to be any
further risk to the public and that they will provide
more details as soon as possible.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
I'm hesitant to say this, but I can't help myself.
They don't tell us like what all the precursors were.
They don't tell us what the background was, so I
can only assume that because this sounds like it took
someplace in the United Kingdom, I guess they had the
shoot him because he probably said something that somebody found

(08:44):
of fency, so they just had to elimit.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
He posted a meme on Facebook.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
You know, dragging. You're probably right, and that meme offended
somebody in Siberia, and so they had to shooting a
man brings a knife to a gun. Huh, here's something new.

Speaker 11 (09:03):
Stuart's police chief tells us that this shocking surveillance video
shows the moment where thirty six year old Kenneth Christopher
Cook charged at the ten year veteran with a large
knife before he was shot and killed outside the Sierra
Condominiums in Stuart. The Martin County Sheriff's Office, which has
now taken over the investigation, says it started around seven
am when a call came in about a man stalking

(09:24):
a woman.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
With a knife.

Speaker 11 (09:26):
Officer osinga asked Cook to put the knife away, but
things escalated quickly. According to investigators, he started sprinting at
full speed towards the officer with an eight to nine
inch knife. Officer Asinga fired four rounds and is now
on administrative leave.

Speaker 12 (09:39):
Had this officer not been in pete performance condition, he would.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Have gotten stabbed. He would he would have likely lost
his life. The officer can come back to work.

Speaker 12 (09:48):
Whenever we get a pretty good idea of that he's
justified on the shooting which he saw the video, so
he could be released back to work fairly quickly, maybe
even next week.

Speaker 11 (10:01):
The sheriff says Cook has a history of violent crime
and mental health issues in at least two different states.
Buddesik says Cook was baker acted no less than three
times in Martin County.

Speaker 12 (10:09):
Those violent fellow and crimes include kidnapping and some serious charges.
All the charges were abandoned because the suspect was not
fit to stand trial. In this scenario, the system probably
did fail our suspect, who ended up dying as a.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
Result of it.

Speaker 11 (10:27):
The sheriff says they're waiting on the results of a
toxicology report to see if Cook had any drugs in
his system. Investigators say the investigation could take months. Reporting
in Stewart, I'm Michael Hoffman, Thank.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
You, Michael. All Right, it seems to mean when you
bring a life to a gunfight, A man brings a
screwdriver to a gunfight.

Speaker 9 (10:48):
Dumb and dumber, Dade.

Speaker 13 (10:49):
When police released body camera footage from a deadly officer
involved shooting.

Speaker 9 (10:54):
Officers shot and killed.

Speaker 14 (10:55):
David Leroy Kent Junior February sixth, on the city's east side.

Speaker 15 (11:00):
Attorney General and the Polk County Attorney's Office have cleared
those officers.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Caseycys Nicole Tam has been looking.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
Through the footage for us.

Speaker 9 (11:07):
Nicole walk us through what we see.

Speaker 16 (11:09):
Happening well, Ben and stays a good afternoon. Investigators say
that these senior officers that's tied.

Speaker 9 (11:14):
Us to Ford and new Schaeffer.

Speaker 16 (11:16):
They were called to stop Kins as part of a
narcotics investigation that night. The videos released today shows what
happened next from those officers' body cameras. We did edit
the videos to stop just before the gunshots were fired.
And just a warning, this may be disturbing to watch
for some viewers.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
Okay, don't.

Speaker 16 (11:41):
That footage is from officer Shaeffer's body camera. The video
shows him approaching the scene and in it you can
hear Officer to Ford asking Kins to take his hands
out of his pockets or Kins has then heard that
he has a screwdriver.

Speaker 9 (11:54):
Police say that he took out that screwdriver and charged
that officer Schaeffer.

Speaker 16 (11:58):
Then both of those officers fired, can't receive medical attention,
but died at the hospital. Des Moine Police Sergeant Pauper
Rezik says the videos shows just how quickly those officers
had to react in this situation.

Speaker 17 (12:11):
It's hard to watch to see exactly how fast those
officers have to make that decision and see what they're
faced with, but it does help people understand, you know,
the context of why these things happen, how they end
up the way they do, and why we do the
things that we do.

Speaker 16 (12:27):
Officers to Ford Ann Shaeffer do remain on administrative assignment.
It is part of standard procedure in that department. The
police department is now reviewing the shooting.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
All right, screwdrivers don't bring screwdrivers to gunfights. We got
a text message dragon, Mike or Michael, this is number
zero four to three three. You make as much sense
as what they told us on the COVID shot. Before
you get a booster shot, are you supposed to get
the first shot. How come we got booster shots before

(12:56):
we got the shot. I think this is going to
work as well as the COVID shot.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
But I would say that you normally get the taxpayer
relief shots at the same time every week, So anything
outside of regular intervals that would be a booster shot.
What you know?

Speaker 1 (13:11):
For you, that's absolutely great thinking.

Speaker 3 (13:15):
Yeah, it happens on occasion.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
Yeah, you must be awake today. Let's see him. A
man driving the wrong way on the highway, shot and
killed by the Have you listened to this one?

Speaker 3 (13:25):
I probably did when I recorded to day.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
A man driving the wrong way on the highway a
shot and killed by the popo. This that would be interesting.

Speaker 18 (13:33):
A man is said in a late night altercation with
state troopers along an area interstate.

Speaker 9 (13:39):
Our local twelve James Peltzer.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
Joining us now in studio with what we've learned so far.

Speaker 19 (13:43):
Hi James.

Speaker 15 (13:44):
Shortly before midnight last night, state troopers shot and killed
an unidentified man on I two seventy five in Union
Township in Claremont County. Here's a video from the scene
in which you can see the red Ford escape with
the windows shot out. The incident forced the closure of
the Interstate at the Newtown Batavia exit near Eastgate for
several hours stretching into early this morning. We just got

(14:05):
the release from the State Patrol outlining what troopers say happened. Apparently,
the driver was driving the wrong way on I two
seventy five, going northbound in the southbound lanes. The release
states a trooper intentionally collided with the suv to push
the vehicle into a concrete median, and the driver then
displayed a gun before being shot.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
I confirmed with the Ohio Attorney General's.

Speaker 15 (14:26):
Office that the Ohio State Highway Patrol called in the
Bureau of Criminal Investigation to handle the investigation into what
they call a fatal shooting. The corner responded to the
scene as well, but the corner the Claremont County Corner's Office,
is not yet releasing any information. The release also states
a troopers sustained a minor injury unrelated to the shooting.

(14:46):
I also confirmed that in general, state troopers wear body
cams and we have requested that video, but it's not
clear when that will be available. BCI is also investigating
the fatal shooting along I seventy five last month by
a Lachlan Police office That state agency turns over any
findings to county prosecutors, who make the final decision on
whether the fatal use of force was justified.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
Oh, if asked for the bunny cam released it, So
like Aurora we talked about earlier this morning. Yeah, we
didn't want to release this, or we'll release what we
want to release clips that are edited. Let's see another one.
Oh where was I? Man fires a raffle? A man
files a raffle, the man fires a rifle at the

(15:30):
popo and winds up DRT.

Speaker 20 (15:34):
Police in James City County are investigating a shooting death
of a suspect they say was armed and shot at officers.
First tonight, they identified that man shot by police Sunday
outside Food Lion near the Williamsburg Outlets. He's fifty seven
year old James Andrew Evans of Williamsburg. This began with
reports of a fight at the Woods at Williamsburg apartment complex,

(15:55):
where a man was reportedly armed. License Reeder Technologies what
help pulled tracked the suspects of the outlet parking lot.
Elizabeth Painting was waiting in that lot for her daughter.
She says when the man got out of his truck.
He pointed what looked like a long gun at officers
and fired, and I mana.

Speaker 21 (16:13):
Thought they were just gonna pull somebody over, And then
all of a sudden, I started hearing all the gunshots.

Speaker 7 (16:18):
I was like, work the world.

Speaker 18 (16:20):
The girl that fired, she was pretty upset, she was
bent over, she was pretty upset for shooting.

Speaker 9 (16:24):
I couldn't sleep last night. Like I've seen people die before,
but not like that.

Speaker 20 (16:31):
Virginia State Police have taken over the investigation. The two
officers involved are on what's called non enforcement work while
this investigation goes on.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
It wasn't called administrative leave, non enforcement work. You got
yourself a de job. Let's go to the award winners
an apartment resident ooh three. Now, how want you to
think about this? Because in Colorado now you could not own,
possess or you cannot purchase, and they'll ultimately possess a

(17:05):
firearm that you might need to handle this kind of situation.
Thanks to the Marxists at the Colorado polit Bureau and
that dumbasque Governor Jared Polisporting.

Speaker 20 (17:18):
The search is on from multiple suspects involved in a
deadly home invasion over in southwest Houston, yeah, Houston Police
say this, Harris.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
Kelly, I love it. Harris Kelly's always got the best.

Speaker 14 (17:29):
What happened in an apartment complex off of Westwood Road.
That is where we find our Devon Raley, He joins
us live from the scene.

Speaker 8 (17:36):
Devon.

Speaker 9 (17:37):
Any arrests in this.

Speaker 22 (17:38):
Case, well, Jacob and Sherman as of right now, no,
but things are much quieter out here than they were
roughly eight hours ago at the Villa Salona apartments. The
scene has since cleared, but we do know that the
suspect in this case, at least one of them, was killed,
shot and killed here at the scene. Investigators with the
Houston Police Department say this all happened at around nine

(18:00):
o'clock Wednesday night in an apartment at the Villa Salona
apartment off West Ridge Road. There were two residents inside
the home at the time, and police say an armed
suspect broke in through a window. One of the residents
that shot the intruder, killing him, while police say several
other suspects took off running. Fortunately, though the people who

(18:21):
were inside the apartment at the time of the incident
weren't hurt.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
I'm not sure if this is targeted or not.

Speaker 17 (18:28):
At this point, it appears to be an attempt at
burglary that turned into a home invasion once they realized
that the personal inside.

Speaker 22 (18:35):
Right now, police are actively searching for the other suspects involved,
and they tell us at this time no charges will
be filed against the resident of the apartment. Houston Police
are asking anyone with information that could lead to an.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
Arrest in this case to call them.

Speaker 22 (18:49):
Reporting live in Southwest Houston, Devon Rahmin Khu eleven news.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
Well, if you needed more than ten rounds, well in Colorado,
you sol, Mike.

Speaker 23 (19:01):
You may remember Bernie Getz from back in the day
in the New York subway guy in a Bernie Getz
was a guy in a wheelchair who was basically approached
by a bunch of young thugs who tried to rob
them with screwdrivers. He pulled a gun and said and
started firing. Bernie Getz. Go, Bernie, Yeah, I'd forget about

(19:24):
the screwdrivers. You're exactly right.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
Somebody in the text line speaking of screwdrivers, somebody said,
who number fifty eight eighty. I went to the Boulder
County Courthouse to fix an office machine. The cop at
the inference wanted to know why I had a hammer
in my toolbox, but didn't say a word about the
twelve inch screwdriver. Oh well, you could have taken it

(19:48):
through TSA and they wouldn't have noticed either. One. Let's
see another award winner and we're doing taxpy relief shots. Obviously,
a home owner shoots and kills a home invader, that
you'll probably make that unlawful.

Speaker 24 (20:02):
In Colorado next, Martinsville police say today a homeowner shot
and killed a would be burglar. This happened around one
thirty this afternoon on West Pike Street that's near a
state road thirty nine and West Morgan Street. Police say
the homeowner was inside when someone tried to break in.
That's when the homeowner shot and killed the suspect. Neither

(20:23):
person's identity is being released yet.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
I like the use of the term would be burglar
because they didn't get a chance to do that. A
homeowner shoots and kills an intruder stop breaking into people's houses.

Speaker 14 (20:39):
During Nassau County, where deputies continue to investigate an early
morning shooting at.

Speaker 25 (20:43):
A home, we're told the homeowners shot and killed a
man who was trying to break in a home. Is
on Minor Road near Buccaneer Trail between Turk Lane and
Shady Yoak Drive and Yulie Johonna For's Bacari Savage. Savage
is joining us live from the scene with an update.

Speaker 21 (20:57):
Bacary Tom I actually had a chance to talk to
the homeowner. He invited us inside to take a closer
look at the damage, but he didn't want us to
take any footage, so of course we did respect that
he was very shaken up. In Nasau County, Shriff Bill
Leeper says that stuff like this doesn't happen around here.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
Well, that's something that you don't expect to happen.

Speaker 1 (21:18):
Someone trying to break into your home and.

Speaker 26 (21:21):
It does startle you and then it scares you, and
a lot of people have weapons to protect themselves, and that's.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
What occurred here.

Speaker 21 (21:28):
Nasau County Sheriff Bill Leaper says, around six point thirty
Monday morning, they guy to call that a homeowner's shot
and killed a man trying to break into his house
on Minor Road. There's a six year old boy sleeping
and a woman inside when the break in happened.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
Not a lot of issues in this area.

Speaker 26 (21:43):
We have a few vehicle break INDs innovators leaving their
vehicles not well to someone coming through the neighborhood check
and I'm gonna se if there's anything valuable in there,
but but nothing home invasions like this.

Speaker 21 (21:53):
Sheriff Leeper says, this should be a warning too, would
be thieves around.

Speaker 26 (21:57):
Certainly, you want to protect yourself, you want to protect
your home, and someone breaks in, and that's a possibility
that they're gonna accept it.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
Somebody gonna be shooting him.

Speaker 19 (22:05):
So I wish suggest not to break in the homes.

Speaker 21 (22:10):
As sure if Leeper says that they're still investigating to
kind of figure out how everything fit together with this timeline,
but he says it right now, they're not sure if
there's a connection between the guy who tried to break
in and the man who lives here, live and Yulie.
I'm Akari savage channel for the quisition.

Speaker 1 (22:27):
Now, I didn't know. I don't need to know anything
about this story other than Sheriff Leaper is not from Colorado.
Why brow?

Speaker 26 (22:40):
I Certainly you want to protect yourself, you want to
text your home and someone breaks in, and that's a
possibility that they're gonna accept it. Somebody gonna be shooting him,
So I will suggest not to break.

Speaker 19 (22:50):
In the homes.

Speaker 1 (22:51):
Raign, can you grab that? We need to add that
to our list of sheriffs. Let's say the right thing?
Did you hear it? Hear it is?

Speaker 26 (23:01):
Certainly you want to protect yourself, You want to text
your home and someone breaks in, and that's the possibility
that they're going to accept.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
Is somebody going to be shooting him?

Speaker 19 (23:09):
So I wish, yes, not to break into homes.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
I was.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
Loser.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
That's the award winner titled Homeowner shoots and kills an intruder,
dated four eleven. Okay, now let's see. Oh I gotta
close that one out. Click click, double click, make dragon happy,
move over here, double click again the son of a
homeowner and again we got three armed intruders. So in Colorado,

(23:40):
you're screwed.

Speaker 13 (23:42):
Developing now. Police release the name of the suspect killed
after they say he tried robbing people in a Covington home.
Forty three year old Joshua Cursey died after the homeowner's
son shot him, according to officers. Nine on your Sides,
Jake Ryle is live at the Covington Police Department. Jake,
what can you tell us.

Speaker 27 (24:01):
Well, we know the Kenton County Prosecutor is not going
to be filing charges in relation to this shooting investigation.

Speaker 9 (24:07):
Police and the prosecutor's office believe this was a.

Speaker 27 (24:10):
Case of self defense for the homeowner after several suspects
ended in breaking into the home. Now, this is a
prior mudshot of the suspect killed, forty three year old
Joshua Cursey.

Speaker 9 (24:22):
According to that release, three masked men broke.

Speaker 27 (24:24):
Into a home in the three hundred block of West
seventh Street just after one thirty Tuesday morning. The suspects
showed guns to threaten the homeowners, Floyd and Darlene Gilly.

Speaker 9 (24:35):
Those suspects demanded to know.

Speaker 27 (24:36):
A person's whereabouts who hadn't lived in the home in
a long time.

Speaker 9 (24:40):
According to police, a twenty four year old son.

Speaker 27 (24:42):
Ended up grabbing a handgun when he heard Cursey heading
his way and shot him at least one time, hitting
him in the chest. The other two suspects then ran off.
Covingston police still searching for those two suspects. They're asking
if you have any information at this point to go
ahead and give them a call for now reporting Live
and Huntington Jake ryle nine on your side?

Speaker 1 (25:02):
Nop Uh can he more than ten rounds and go around?
You're you're screwed. Let's see, uh dragon? A Subway sandwich
shop employee wasn't me? Are you sure?

Speaker 18 (25:17):
Good afternoon? A would be armed robber was shot and
killed this morning by a subway employee. It happened just
after five this morning at the twenty four hour location
near the Sunport News Certain's Jackie Kent is live off
Gibson and University. With what we're learning, Jackie.

Speaker 28 (25:36):
Detectives just got a warrant to search the restaurant to
id the would be robber and look for any more
evidence showing what led to the shooting. Inside. You also
still see a handgun on the ground just outside the
restaurant doors.

Speaker 9 (25:49):
Homicide detectives are still.

Speaker 28 (25:51):
At interviewing store employees. Police say the call came in
around five twenty. Employees told officers an armed person walked
into the restaurant and tried robbing an employee. APD says
that's when another worker who had a gun came out
of a back room and shot the suspected robber. Police
say what escalated here is concerning.

Speaker 3 (26:11):
We hadn't had at least.

Speaker 8 (26:12):
In a few years an armed robbery at a restaurant
or a business that turned into a homicide, and now
we've had two in the last.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
Couple of weeks.

Speaker 28 (26:23):
APD says the rise in these types of crimes is
why if they launched a new operation in which they're
serving more warrants on armed robbery.

Speaker 3 (26:30):
And homicide suspects. They say, in just.

Speaker 28 (26:32):
A couple of weeks it's led to one homicide suspect
at last check back here at the subway, police say
the employee who shot the gun was taken away in
handguffs handcuffs to be interviewed, and the detectives say it's
too soon to know at this point if this is
considered a justifiable homicide.

Speaker 18 (26:50):
Back to you, okay, thanks Jackie. Now, the last shooting
by an employee of a would be robber was just
on labor date. That was a tobacco town, your fourth
in Griagos. APD and prosecutors are looking at that case
as a justifiable homicide.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
Albuquer at the Port Sunport, Okay. A man brings a
knife to a well, brings a life. You know where
it's headed.

Speaker 18 (27:13):
And we're talking Breatney news out Huntington Park this morning,
a man was shot and killed by police.

Speaker 16 (27:17):
Let's get right to Tina batell She's live at the
scene of East Florence near Salt Lake Avenue.

Speaker 9 (27:22):
Tina, good morning. You just heard from officials.

Speaker 14 (27:26):
Yeah, and we have now learned that police were called
out here because there were reports that someone was lighting
a fire at Salt Lake Park. You can see that
park's still closed off this morning. This was around twelve
thirty in the morning. When police arrived, they found a
forty four year old man. They couldn't tell exactly what
he was doing or what he was trying to light.
They tell us he was not homeless, he did not
live in the park, but investigators are looking to whether

(27:48):
he might have been doing drugs of some sort. They
say he was armed with a large knife and was
not cooperative with officers. That's why they say they ended
up pulling their weapons.

Speaker 29 (27:58):
One officer gave verbal commands from the drop the knife,
several rural commands, and then he used a less lethal weapon.
It causes suspect to fall, but he got up still
holding a knife.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
At wish Simon Officer ball shooting here.

Speaker 14 (28:11):
Kurt Now, the man was taken to the hospital, where
he was pronounced dead. Police are not releasing his name
until his next of kin are notified, but we're told
he did live here in Huntingdon Park. Investigators recovered a
knife from the scene and they have been searching in
the park for other evidence.

Speaker 9 (28:28):
As we come back out here alive.

Speaker 14 (28:29):
They tell us there were no witnesses to the shooting,
but there were some people who were nearby sleeping in
their car at the time. They tell us they heard
the shooting but did not actually see what happened before
that shooting. That's the lace in Huntingdon Park. We'll send
it back to you.

Speaker 9 (28:42):
Hr Tina.

Speaker 25 (28:43):
Thank you.

Speaker 9 (28:44):
Switching tax services can be a drag and drop.

Speaker 1 (28:47):
Ready Dragon didn't cut out of the commercial at the
end of the year, whipsies. That's a demerit for you.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
Oh right, I'm mister double click over there.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
I've been doing very well since I said for that
first time, well since I had my booster shot exactly.
See a man brings a knife to a gunfight again.

Speaker 30 (29:09):
They're following two breaking news stories. This first one is
out of Suffolk County, Long Island. In Brentwood, police say
officers shot and killed a man when he charged at
them with a knife inside his home.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
It's happened on Worr Street. This is a live look
at the scene right now.

Speaker 30 (29:24):
They've identified the man as fifty four year old Bruce Boyd.
The suspect a retired New York City Correction officer. Please say,
Boyd was covered with blood when they first arrived from
an apparent self inflicted stab wound.

Speaker 31 (29:37):
The officers flee out the front door onto the front lawn.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
A self inflicted stab wound. I don't know that I
can do that.

Speaker 31 (29:47):
The officer's retreat the length of the front lawn well
while yelling at mister Boyd to drop the knife. Mister
Boyd continues charging at the officers, at which point at
least one officer discharges the firearms, striking mister Boydon.

Speaker 30 (30:03):
Boyd had no previous arrests or domestic violence incidents. However,
police say he did have a previous history of quote,
emotional and other issues.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
That could be me Let's see a man brings a mashit.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
What take a break first? Why just break time now?

Speaker 1 (30:22):
Quid get seven seconds left?

Speaker 23 (30:24):
I think this gun bill is just another example of
this visceral fear of black uns or ar type rifles
that has been developed by the media, et cetera. That's
just completely irrational. There's no basis in reality there. It's
just fear based. It's terrible.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
I think you're half right. I think that part of
the anti gun attitude in Colorado is that, and the
other half is, and I mean this very sincerely, they
really do want to disarm you, because they do, foolishly
and without any rational logic or reason whatsoever, believe that

(31:08):
limiting your ability to own or use a gun is
somehow going to make everybody else safer. And of course
I guess there would be a third point, and that
is none of these bills, none of them will do
anything to change any criminal who wants to use a
gun and a crime. Absolutely nothing. So don't forget those

(31:32):
things because oftentimes we don't want to admit that they
truly are communists. Let's see a machetee.

Speaker 32 (31:42):
Intracoastal Park in Boyden Beach was closed most of Saturday,
and Boyden Beach police investigated an officer involves shooting.

Speaker 7 (31:49):
Nobody likes to hear that there's a shooting right next
door to you.

Speaker 9 (31:53):
I mean, it's scary.

Speaker 32 (31:56):
Patty and Peter Thomasino live next to the park. They
say they didn't hear the gunshots, but.

Speaker 9 (32:00):
They heard the sirens that followed.

Speaker 32 (32:02):
You've got to give it a little kind to sink
in and realize really what's going on. We're told officers
were responding to a domestic dispute at a residence near
the park. Police say a father called nine one one
to report his son was struggling from a mental health condition,
possibly on drugs, and armed with a knife. Officers reported
when they arrived the man was holding what they described

(32:24):
as a machete.

Speaker 4 (32:25):
During the encounter, they had to discharge their firearm subsequently thereafter,
they immediately started life saving measures.

Speaker 32 (32:36):
Please say. The man was taken to the hospital, where
he was pronounced dead. Back of the park, evidence markers
could be seen towards the entrance.

Speaker 9 (32:43):
I pressed for answers.

Speaker 32 (32:44):
To find out what happened moments before shots were fired
and whether the suspect was being aggressive. Police told me
it's still under investigation.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
Based on the Boyan Beach Police Department's policy, the Farida
Department of Law Enforcement investigates all our officer involved shootings
per protocol.

Speaker 32 (33:00):
Uyden Beach police say the officers involved have been placed
on administrative leave until the investigation is over. Boyden Beach
Police have yet to release the victim's name as they're
still working to notify the family in Boyden Beach. Cassandra
Garcia w PTV News and the.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
Last one for the day we will actually celebrate.

Speaker 33 (33:19):
This was a terrifying situation for neighbors living in this area.
As this hostage situation unfolded, police telling us the thirty
eight year old suspect was holding a one year old
child in one hand and a gun in the other hand.
As officers tried to de escalate the situation, the one
year old coming out of this unharmed. As police shot
that thirty eight year old man, who later died from

(33:40):
his injuries. People living in this apartment complex community were
stuck inside their homes as the Gary SWAT Team was
involved in a hostage situation near twenty second in Carolina.
Gary Police secured to perimeter around this apartment Tuesday night
around nine thirty as they say a thirty eight year
old man held a thirty five year old man and
a one year old baby be hostage.

Speaker 34 (34:00):
Inside it was a lot of police cars, walk cars.
It was up in the front in the bag and
it was blocking off the streets.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
Nobody could come outside.

Speaker 33 (34:08):
Police say at one point shots were fired inside the
home and the thirty five year old victims suffered minor
injuries but was able to escape outside. After that, the
suspect remained inside with the one year old, and police
say he refused to leave while firing multiple rounds at
officers during the standoff. You could see the tracks in
the grass where the armored vehicle was used by the

(34:28):
SWAT team as they breached access into the house.

Speaker 34 (34:31):
It was a nerve wrecking. It was just a lot
going on. People was scared and like, couldn't you walk
down the street.

Speaker 33 (34:38):
Hours later, around four point thirty in the morning, police
say the suspect walked out of the back door to
his vehicle while holding the child, and that's when officers
shot him. The one year old was not hurt throughout
all of this, and police say the suspect later died
from his injuries.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
The Lake County.

Speaker 33 (34:54):
Sheriff's Department is now leading the investigation looking into that
use of force. No officers we're injured in this entire situation,
and police tell us there is no further threat to
the public.

Speaker 1 (35:05):
As a really good one. Remember, if you know of
anyone who's filing lawsuits against Senate Bill three, email me
Michael Brown atiheartmedia dot com the information about those groups
they're filing those lawsuits.
