Speaker 1 (00:00):
Mike, the King Supers that I go to all the
time has those silly gates that have to let you in.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
I think it's so silly.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Because, to be totally honest, I'm fifty four, I'm almost
fifty five years old, and I'm kind of athletic. I
could very easily just jump right over those stupid things.
I don't think that's a really going to stop anybody
doing anything, do they?

Speaker 2 (00:25):
No, I don't think. I don't think it's a question
of jumping over them. I think it's like and I
guess I can confess this now because the statue of
limitations has expired. But parking at DA in the very
early days of DA, back in the nineteen ninety five

(00:45):
or four, whenever it was, I don't remember parking in
not the garage, but those economy lots that are next
to the garage, And I think it was the last
time I ever did that. Then when they had the
you would leave the garages and you drive all the
way back to Denver before you went through the toll
booth to pay for your parking.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
U huh.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
And it was always backed up so badly that at
some point they it got so bad they would actually
discount your parking because you had stayed just long enough
in the backed up traffic that you flipped over to
another day. That was totally absurd. But back to the

(01:27):
gates at King Supers probably liked the gates. No, I
don't whether it's still this way or not, but we
were backed up because one of the gates would not function,
so there were a bunch of cars lined up. Somebody
got out of their car and went to the gate,
and then two or three of us gout of our

(01:47):
cars and went to the gate, and we finally just
broke it off. We just boomed nice, broke it and
went through. Give it number zero nine three eight Mike
Costco terms Aedy cites costco dot com slash member privileges

(02:11):
conditions to ensure that all members are correctly charged for
the merchandise purchased. All receipts and merchandise will be inspected
as you leave the warehouse. But of course we know
that's not true, not on whether this is Costco or not.
But eighteen oh two says, I just walk around the

(02:31):
receipt checker while he or she is checking the person
in front of me. I've also gone back into the
store and walked out behind them. It's a game for me.
So far, they've not tried to stop me, or have
they ever said anything.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
I like this one here, Dragon. If it's the King
supers at Tower at Hampton, it's not a cop. It's
an armed security guard, not a king's employee. She's a
delightful lady, always smiling and ready with a compliment. I'm
thinking about writing my number on the receipt with a
message asking her to call me.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
Is is that creepy or romantic?

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Yes? Yes, sir, yes it is. Uh fifty six eleven Michael,
I'm the goober who never uses a bag since ponscious Polus.
Who's that pontious police?

Speaker 3 (03:15):
I call him Lord Emperor Polis.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
And his bag vendetta. Even if I just get ahead
of Lettuce out, it goes in a cart and another
secret about half the time. I don't use the cart
corral either. Make him work harder. Number nineteen sixty four, No,
you number fifty six eleven? Where'd you get nineteen sixty four?

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Yeah, let's make up your own gouber number.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Yeah you can do that, But here's fifty eight to eleven,
Michael and Dragon, I do something similar with my King Soupers. No, No,
that's something I was looking for. I alreadyread that one.
Here it is. It's eighty nine forty nine, Mike, I
have a close friend that works in security for King Supers.

(04:01):
The amount of customer theft is crazy, but pressing charges
is a civil matter. What shoplifting is a civil matter?
Or or are we like California Now? It's only it's
a civil matter up to a certain amount. So you

(04:23):
mean I can, I can? I can go steal groceries
and I might I have to go pay like a
speeding ticket. Huh Are you sure about that? Because I'm
thinking I could really save on groceries if it's a
civil matter, because at some point the fine's gonna you know,
unless I'm a repeat offender. I guess the fine's going

(04:44):
to be uh less than what Tamer spills and groceries. Uh. Anyway,
eighty ninety nine. I have a close friend that works
in security for King Supers. The amount of customer theft
is crazy. The pressing charges is a civil matter, and
they just don't have time to do it for the
amount of purpose they would have to go after. So

(05:04):
his focus, the security guy is on employees. They have
a massive problem with employee theft. So pretty much everyone
is a thief, well including yours truly, apparently because I
was trying to steal my own bag. I was trying
to take my own bag out of the ground, out
of the store. Good grief. So when the when the

(05:32):
guy complained about illegal aliens And this is just how
my show prep goes. So that was yesterday at I
don't know, one thirty or something in the afternoon. And
then I go back and Tamer's not going to be
over at our son's house from the airport. They were

(05:53):
traveling together until I don't know, four or five o'clock.
So I'm going back doing some show prep and I'm
also looking for my Michael Brown minodover Freedom and I
run across this story over at KDVR. Now they got
a little video. I don't know the video tells the
same thing as the story, but here's what the video says.

Speaker 5 (06:13):
Or just announced it's levying more than eight million dollars
in fines on local businesses for employment violations. Prox Threy
Ones the cole Fierro is on it this afternoon working
to track down to businesses and learn more about this.

Speaker 6 (06:25):
Nicole Yeah, I said that it has three businesses that
it's notified it's intent to charge millions of dollars in fines,
that these are local businesses and this happened after a
workplace audit. A new social media post from ICE identifies
three companies US Immigrations and Custom Enforcement notified that it

(06:46):
intends to issue millions of dollars of fines due to
illegal alien employment violations. We tried going to these businesses
to learn their side, starting with CCS Facility Services, which
provides janitorial and facility maintenance services to Denver and surrounding areas,
where we were told off board meeting was going on
and someone would have to get back to us. I
said it's levying more than six million in fines against

(07:09):
CCS after finding one hundred percent substantive violation rate and
evidence of knowingly hiring and employing at least eighty seven
unauthorized workers. The next two are listed under different company names,
PBC and Green Management Denver. When we went to addresses
listed on the Secretary of State's website for the companies,
both have signs for CCS.

Speaker 7 (07:28):
Listed investigating businesses that employee illegal immigration has been going
on for decades. It has happened through every presidential administration.

Speaker 6 (07:35):
John Fabricatory, former Field office director for ICE, breaks down
the process for US.

Speaker 7 (07:40):
They performed an I nine audit in which they found,
you know, multiple Social Security number are probably mismatches and no.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
Matches, he says.

Speaker 6 (07:49):
ICE. Homeland Security Investigations announces there is going to be
an I nine audit, giving companies notice.

Speaker 7 (07:55):
Also they can use you verify you know, and then
work directly with ICE to ensure that those that they're
employing are authorized.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
How do they find which businesses to audit.

Speaker 7 (08:05):
Some of these businesses may have been audited in the
past and had employed people that were unauthorized to work,
so that is something that they could be looking at.
But every single business is subject to having their I
nines audit it.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
That was in cool fier are reporting.

Speaker 5 (08:19):
ICE also tells US Homeland Security Investigations use a three
prong approach to work side enforcement. These inspections and civil
fines are step one. Step two goes into the arrest
of employers and unauthorized workers, and three outreach through what
is called the IMAGE program.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
We have more on that and put.

Speaker 5 (08:36):
Any responses from the companies that we get on our
website at katvr dot com.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Well, apparently health care. What was that me or you?
Oh I, let's see. The story has been updated to
correct the identify and link to the businesses involved, So
they've done that, But the story appears to be the

(09:02):
same one that I saw last night, except they okay,
they've got addresses. I don't care about that. But at
CCS Denver find six point one million, they had a
one hundred percent violation rate of knowingly and hiring and
employing at least eighty seven undocumented workers. PBC Commercial Cleaning

(09:25):
Systems biggest thing, and oh, I see what's going on here?
Never might I apologize for that?

Speaker 3 (09:30):
So double click there, Michael.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Oh yes, it's ads that won't play, that won't stop playing.
Uh PBC and Green Management that they said in that
report they aired were both located at the same address.
Uh PBC Commercial Cleaning Systems. I just want to put
their names out on the air because I do want
to embarrass them. Was fined one point five nine million

(09:55):
dollars for a seventy four percent violation rate and a
of knowingly employing at least twelve undocumented workers, and then
in the same address, Green Management, Denver, oh Green Management.
They were fined two hundred and seventy thousand dollars plus
after a one hundred percent violation rate and identification of

(10:18):
forty four undocumented employees. CCS Denver offers commercial cleaning and
facility maintenance services multiple locations. PBC Commercial Cleaning offers professional
commercial cleaning services in Denver. You know, Dragon, I'm really
interested now because I know that the I don't know

(10:40):
the name of the cleaning company in this particular office building.
I just know that I certainly hear a lot of Spanish.
I hear very little English. And it's interesting because just yesterday,
on my way out of the building, I stopped at

(11:02):
the restroom on the main floor to do my duty,
and all I could hear was in the janitorial room
next to the men's room, was just this chat chat
chat chat chat chat chat chat, all in all in Spanish,
not saying that they are, not saying that they're not,

(11:23):
just saying that. It certainly raises a question. And here's
the conundrum that I think we face. I want more
of this, I want more of these audits. I want
more of this. You know, don't audit me irs, leave
me alone. But in terms of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement

(11:47):
doing audits of businesses, I want more of it. Now.
I don't want more regulations on business. I don't want
more you know, I don't want ocean all this other
crap going on all the time. I want that to
be paired back a little bit.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
But in terms of.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
This, if you really want to put the kebash on
the draw that we have of trying to not trying,
but of getting people that want to come here, well
what's the draw. It's businesses like these three ccs Denver,
PBC Commercial Cleaning, and Green Management that have been fined

(12:27):
by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement for hiring unauthorized undocumented workers.
Well that's why they come here, and that's why they
stay here. And if there were more actions against those
kinds of companies for doing that kind of activity, you
would see it drive up even further. You might even

(12:50):
see some people self support. Now I understand there would
be unintended consequences. For example, one of the unintended consequences
would be, oh, now I'm an employed, so I'll become
homeless or I'll become you know, destitute, I'll become indigent.
So the next thing they'll be going to the government
to get paid by them instead of getting paid by workers.

(13:13):
So it really is damned if you do and damned
if you don't, and it drives me crazy. But if
it takes more money to do that kind of enforcement,
then I would actually like to see more of that
kind of enforcement.

Speaker 4 (13:28):
Have we got a quick text message here, Mike? Have
you not been listening? The Democrats have been telling you
for a long time that if you deport everybody, there
will be no one to wash the toilet or pick
your crops.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
What I think might actually happen would be just the opposite. Now,
it may increase, for example, in this building, let's just
make an assumption for a moment. Let's pretend for a
moment that they did an audit on this building and
they were fine because they found one hundred percent unlawful hiring. Well,

(14:04):
those jobs would be open and if they and they
would have to keep increasing wages until they found an
American citizen that would take the job, which would mean
that iHeart would have increased. You would they'd probably get
a rent increase when their lease agreement came up for renewal.

(14:25):
So yes, I understand that costs would increase, but aren't
we okay with that? Because that means now we have
Americans who are doing jobs, and they're doing jobs, so
they're paying taxes, and they're maybe making more money than
they would have or they were before, and so now
they're engaged in the economy and so the economy continues
to grow. So yeah, I'd rather have that, But what

(14:49):
makes me think we're going to enforce that when we
have this? And John?

Speaker 8 (14:57):
The government wanted Owen mcintiredness been the time before trial
behind bars, but the judge and Boston sided with the
defense in this case, which cited multiple medical issues facing
the nineteen year old, including.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
This is about uh well, this is kind of in
a roundabout way. All this idea in Colorado weather, you know,
came it air. I still had the KATVR tab open
and and they wanted to play. They knew I had
the tab open, and they wanted to get some free

(15:37):
airtime for their commercials. Some you know, hey katiev are
they wanted to get you.

Speaker 4 (15:42):
Know, so it's okay, you only been doing this for
twenty years, you'll get good at it once.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
So I just closed the tab and closed the tab. Well,
I'm so busy making sure that I look good for
the camera in the studio, you know this watching make
sure I don't steal anything, you know, any equipment, any
paper clips. I give you a dollar if you can
find a paper clip somewhere in this building or a stapler. Well,
I got my own back here at think phil LEUXA

(16:07):
paper clip be difficult, It would be very difficult. So
we're supposed to respect the constitution, the rule of law, right, Well,
this story is about a judge that released a Tesla
firebomber citing medical conditions, which is freaking unbelievable when you
understand what the medical conditions are.

Speaker 8 (16:28):
And John, the government wanted Owen McIntyre to spend the
time before trial behind bars, but the judge and Boston
sided with the defense in this case, which cited multiple
medical issues facing the nineteen year old, including autism spectrum disorder.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
Autism spectrum disorder, you mean like ADHD.

Speaker 8 (16:54):
From disorder, tender dysphoria at.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
Oh, well, then by all means feel free to break
the law because you're psychologically confused about your sex to ADHD.

Speaker 8 (17:07):
McIntyre's attorney or you the team should be released, citing
serious and ongoing medical needs and treatments that could not
or would not be provided while in federal detention. The
defense filing says McIntyre is being treated for depression and
since March has been receiving ginger affirming care, that care
would likely be interrupted or terminated in federal custody. Dria

(17:31):
and John, the government wanted own McIntyre's stop firebombing Teslas.

Speaker 9 (17:41):
Good morning from South Dakota. While living in Colorado, my
wife worked for a cleaning company for twenty five years
as the payroll manager.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
Barvard.

Speaker 9 (17:50):
Duties were to serify documents for illegal and legal employees.
The management was very meticulous on make sure all employees
were legal, and that was part of her job. The
management sold the company to a to a couple who
were let's say questionable on their practices and started employing

(18:12):
non legal immigrants, and what happened was eventually the company
went bankrupt. But during that time my wife did not
sign off on any of those hirings, and because of
the illegal hiring, she did not, like I said, sign
off on any of this, and she had the previous

(18:34):
management had gone to Washington, d c. To the Department
of Homeland Security for training on spotting both documents. So
not all companies are practicing that way, but some of
them do finally lean into it. So everyone have a
great day. And I hope this was informational.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
Thank you. It was. And I'm not trying to indict
all companies out there, but I mean when when didn't
you have to go back through when you came back,
didn't you have to go back through the whole process again?

Speaker 4 (19:10):
Yes, and they wanted to see my passport and my
Social Security card and all that kind of stuff. So
you have it, it's it's three weeks old. It's you
still have it. You you let go of me four
weeks ago, it's now three weeks later.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
Just use that to use.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
That right, right, So yeah, some do it correctly. So
this story really, you know, sometimes we talk about if
puppies or children involved, that maybe a taxpayer relief shop
might be celebrated. Well, there's a Democrat from Michigan. He's Indian.

(19:48):
I think, do not feather. His name is Shri Thannadar Thinador.
I don't know. He announced on Monday this week they
hit file articles of impeachment against Trump and he's he's
quite proud of the fact that he's introduced articles of
impeachment against Trump. Well, just listen to your for yourself.

Speaker 10 (20:13):
Donald Trump has already done real damage to our democracy.
But define a unanimous nine oh Supreme Court ruling that
has to be the final straw.

Speaker 3 (20:23):
Is time we impeached Donald J. Trump.

Speaker 10 (20:26):
The court said the wrongfully deported kilmer Garcia must be
allowed to return.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
And yeah, I just find it ironic, interesting, curious that
a uh, I'm going to assume legal immigrant to this
country from India or pakistaner somewhere around there is filing
articles of impeachment against Donald Trump for enforcing immigration laws.

(20:58):
I just I just find that I'm curious.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
To receive due process. Trump ignored it.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
He ignored the contant. He's focused on the fact that
Trump abuses and ignores due process. Keep that in mind.
Do not forget that petution.

Speaker 10 (21:14):
He ignored the very checks and balances that keep our
democracy intact. This isn't an isolated incident. It's part of
a danger and.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
It's not an isolated incident. Keep that in mind too.
Because he likes to focus on due process. In other words,
you know, doing the right thing and that these are uh,
lots and lots and lots of these incidences.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
Hmmm, this deliberate pattern.

Speaker 10 (21:41):
That's why today I introduced a resolution to impeach Donald J. Trump,
outlining seven articles of impeachment Article one.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
I don't care about it. This is going nowhere. But
the Democrats had got a serious problem on their hands
because the Democra that filed impeachment charges against Trump owned
a company, an abandoned New Jersey testing lab that he
owned that reportedly, but I'll give you some facts that

(22:15):
will take away the word reportedly. For a minute left
more than a one left more than one hundred and
fifty beagles and monkeys to starve to death at his
abandoned New Jersey testing lab. And this is what I
love about community notes on X because someone's trying to

(22:38):
defend him by saying that while he was the owner,
the facility was placed in a receivership by Bank of
America to settle debts. Congressman Thanadar stated years ago that
he told the bank about the animals and asked that
employees be allowed to retrieve them, but the Bank of
America refused, and the bank they claim is responsible except

(23:02):
that's not the whole story. According to New Jersey dot com,
the animals have been caged their entire lives, according to
the welfare groups that rescued them, including the time before
Bank of Americas took ownership of the labs, decades behind

(23:24):
bars and then you can find on of all places,
Huffington Post, humanaction dot org YouTube the dogs and the
monkeys never they were bred, never saw the light of day.
And then he tried to delay the rescue of the animals.

(23:47):
He was one hundred percent in charge of the facility
where the animals were abandoned. The only evidence that says
he wasn't is his own statements now trying to blame
it on the bank, trying to blame the bank for
the animals being abandoned. This is the guy that's going

(24:12):
after Trump for impeachment. Democrats have a serious problem on
their hands, a really serious problem they I mean, let's
go back to Chris van Holland, the Senator from Maryland
who runs off to El Salvador to try to rescue

(24:34):
what's his name, Garcia Abrego Garcia, who we have now
learned since yesterday's program overnight, we have learned that oh,
they've discovered even more applications by his wife for protective orders,
not just for the physical abuse that he was perpetrating

(24:57):
allegedly albeit allegedly against her, but the judge did grant
the protective orders, but also against his child. And that's
who the Democrats want to go protect, and they and
before Mike. Now, I can't speak for the Senate, so
I don't know what the Senate's done, but I do
know that Mike Johnson has refused tax payer money for

(25:19):
these codels to go to El Salvador or to go
anywhere else to go visit the illegal aliens. So good
for Speaker Johnson for cutting down that crap. Now, Senator Soon,
I would suppose and suggest that you do the same
thing that Mike Johnson did to shut these down. But
this is what Democrats do. Democrats actually go and defend

(25:40):
illegal aliens all the name of due process, which according
to the law, the Secretary of State has broad discretion
to deport these people, and the President has singular authority,
not even to mention the fact that in case he

(26:01):
already had orders of removal, which means he had to
have gotten due process, he had already been convicted of
a crime, which meant he got due process. But these
are the people that Democrats defend. And then pops up
this guy who looks like a Jimmy Fallon lookalike that's
had really botched plastic surgery, and he's now filed articles

(26:27):
of impeachment. And somebody asked yesterday on the text line,
do I think these articles of impeachment will go anywhere? No,
they will not go anywhere, because the Democrats are starting
to wake up that maybe, just maybe we've got the
wrong message, particularly when it comes to immigration, and particularly

(26:48):
this guy. This guy may not be the right person
to be out there pushing for impeachment when he's all, oh,
he've Donald Trump violated due process. Well, not that i'd
that animals are entitled to quote due process, but animals
are protected by the law against abuse. And he abused

(27:09):
these beagles, and he abused the monkeys, and then he
cites that Trump did this on numerous occasions. This guy
did this to the beagles and did it to the
monkeys for years and years and years, and then when
he ran out of money, just left the animals there

(27:29):
in the labs, so much so that the employees were
trying to break into the lab to try to rescue
the beagles and finally had to go to the bankruptcy court. Well,
the employees didn't, but people finally had to go to
the bankruptcy court to get permission because Bank of America refused.
Bank of America, this is on you too. But Bank

(27:50):
of America refused to do anything with the animals. I
guess they was gonna lead their starts to death. So
finally some humane groups came in and they requested and
got permission to get onto the property. Seize my Bank
of America so they can at least rescue the animals.
When you see the beagles in the van being pulled
up where the rescue workers are, oh my gosh, it

(28:14):
breaks your heart, all these snoopies being rescued from this
dirt bag's lab that now wants to impeach Donald Trump. Democrats.
I'm telling you, you guys are absolutely out of your minds.

Speaker 3 (28:30):
Michael Dragon, I must protest.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
I did not abuse those monkeys.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
Those monkeys consetted to everything everything.

Speaker 2 (28:43):
Did you abuse your own monkey? That's what I want
to know. Dragon's upset back there, Dragon doesn't know what
my show prep is. Dragon's back there, and he's he's
half assed paying attention, which is he kind of goes
through life. He's coming half a half and I heard

(29:04):
my name and so right, he heard his name, and
then all he heard was beagles. So he thought I
was talking about Fauci and so if.

Speaker 3 (29:12):
I don't know the Faucy Beagles story, right, So now he's.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
Wondering, like, what fauct you do now? So then he
starts paying attention and then he and then I hear him.
He kind of whispers in money and what was they
got shinnad or what was? So I spelled the name
for him, and then he goes and he starts looking.
And now you're pissed off. Yep, shouldn't have done that.
Don't go to Michael says, go here dot com. If
you're having a good day, which videos did you grab?

Speaker 3 (29:37):
The beagles? Oh, the poor little beagles.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
You get the video where they're coming out of the back.

Speaker 4 (29:42):
Of the veil, yes, yes, and that'll be posted here
in moments too, Michael says, go here dot com. But
this poor little beagle had no idea what to do
when he was put on grass the first time he
had ever been put on grass. He was frightened and scared.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
Was dragons getting emotional? Uh Google number eleven eighty four, Mike.
I think those gates at King scammers, that's pretty clever.
Are disguised metal detectors make sure no guns are brought in. Well,
if they are, it didn't work yesterday when I went

(30:20):
to King Soupers because I didn't hear an alarm. Uh so,
if it's a silent alarm, nobody approached me.

Speaker 3 (30:28):
Well, they're just waist high.

Speaker 4 (30:30):
So if you've got it in a backpack or shoulder,
then more on an ankle.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
It's not gonna But yeah, so I don't think that's
what they are. This is this is pretty good. Uh oh,
and by the way, it says he is a gubber
g U B B E r H five five six

(30:57):
six because he's using his sell not his number. Well
wait a minute, or maybe you just decide you want
to put that number down. I don't know. I liked
the guy's suggestion while you're using your own bags and
asking if they have a warrant since it's your bag
and you pay for stuff it's yours. I half agree

(31:22):
with that, except you're still inside their store now. I
don't know that they could. I suppose if they suspected
you of shoplifting, they could take you back to the
manager's office or to the front of the manager's office
and detain you while they asked law enforcement to come.

(31:43):
But I doubt they really want to take that risk.
I don't think they want to risk accusing me of

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
